Crystal Clutters Pack
Heeeey people! Crystal Creations came out (bugged as hell) and I loved these bookcases sooo much but it desperately needed changes, atleast for me. The *dust* two colored wood tones needed to go and it surelly needed the ladder for both sides! And so I did that!
I went even further making more swatches and making two swatches for each wood color, one with a version already with books in and one without anything! And also I made some clutters to put on your new bookcases!
Oh and all items in this pack are Base Game Compatible, so you dont need crystal creations to use this.
I hope you enjoy these as much as I do! 📚💛
You can see more info on my patreon here!
And if you wish, you can get early access here! -- *available for everyone 04/14/2023*

Hi, I always enjoy your book suggestions and when you talk about books, have you ever posted a shelfie? I imagine it would be cool to see!
I have so many books that I don't have enough space for all the bookshelves that I actually need, so I think my fellow book lovers would be disappointed in how unorganized my library has become. My bookcases are overloaded and I gave up long ago on trying to keep the subjects organized the way I would like to. And, since I don't have enough space for more bookcases, I've had to get creative in how I store many of them. There are a lot of stacks in my home, and I actually removed the doors of a closet and use an entire closet and the cupboards surrounding it as a makeshift bookcase.
Tumblr media
As for the bookcases that I do have room for, there are a bunch of them and they all look like this:

I do understand that that's not how bookcases are supposed to work, but that's what it's come to. The rest of the books that can't fit on the shelves are stacked just about everywhere in my home -- on tables and dressers and in closets. Pretty much everywhere besides the bathroom or the kitchen. Once Jasmine Cephas Jones or Gugu Mbatha-Raw or Zoe Saldaña or Zazie Beetz or Tessa Thompson fall madly in love with me (I'm open to any of them...I'm not picky) and want to support my book addiction, I'll hopefully be able to find more space for shelving and organize my library in the manner that it deserves. I might even break out the Dewey Decimal System if we get that organized. Once all that happens, I'll share a proper "shelfie".

regarding used bookstores, here is what i hope
So, as you all might expect due to how much I can't stop obsessing over Rebecca, I love to read. As a result, I have a lot of books. Not as many as some people, but more than people who don't read. Probably around 150, in a big tall bookcase with glass doors.
Lately, I have wanted to own fewer books. I think I got to the point, especially during the pandemic, where the bookshelves became pretty decor, instead of carefully curated reading material.
I kept a lot of children's books I loved. Lots of classics, Fantasy. Signed books. Young adult. You get the idea.
Anyway, last weekend, I went through the books, and bagged up around 60 to pass on to a used bookstore. It's funny, because deciding what to pass on wasn't even that difficult. I asked myself: Am I going to read this again? Have I read this? Did I really, truly love this? Will I be sad if this is not here anymore?
I kept this a pretty quick pass. A lot of the children's fiction that I loved but was ready to move on from went. Some grammar books. Some nonfiction. Some adult fiction. I had read all but one of them. (The exception was Philippa Gregory's Virgin Earth, for the record, because blarg on her historical fiction. Why I picked that up, I don't know.)
I am very pleased I did this. I still have books, just less of them.
I even passed on my Daphne du Maurier omnibus (Rebecca, My Cousin Rachel, Jamaica Inn, Frenchman's Creek). It has a scene from 1979 Rebecca on the cover (imo the best version hands down) but I just didn't feel like I needed to keep it anymore. And that feels great. If I don't want something anymore, that means someone else can find enjoyment in it.
I could tell the used bookstore owner didn't really want my books, though he did take them in the end. This bookstore is the kind of old-timey store that writers especially love. It's the kind of store where, if you have the patience and the time, you will wander for a while and then you will randomly find a book that turns out to be excellent and you will wonder at how you found it at all.
There were tons of books in this store, Boxes of books on the floor. Tables full. Piles on the floor. Just books everywhere. When we left, the books I gave them were still in bags on the floor. I can understand why the owner was reluctant.
It can be really hard to know where to take used books. Most are not worth much (if anything). Some libraries don't want books at all. Little free libraries are often full. I don't know a lot of other readers in real life. So, I went with the used bookstore.
When I was a kid, people would give me bookstore gift cards and I would never know what to pick out. My dad resorted once to picking books out for me, telling me they all looked great.
So, here is what I hope:
I hope this store has regulars to pore through the new books people like me bring in. I hope they find something interesting and new and exciting.
I hope a father brings in his 11-year-old daughter because she loves to read, but never knows what to get, and I hope he picks up some of the great children's fiction I hung onto for too long for her, and says, "This looks great! How about this?"
I hope other readers find my books. And yours. And everyone else's. And I hope they enjoy the stories we all have to share.

I’ve been busy today.
I moved not one but two bookcases, requiring two trips with the pickup. One bookcase was so dang heavy I wasn’t sure I’d manage. When I got there I discovered that I had scratched the wood pretty seriously, AND that the part that had been in the “wet” corner of my bedroom** has a wee bit of mold to deal with.
Then I ran out of gas with the pickup. I was afraid of this. Since I have to pay a bill for $100 this coming week and buy another $100 worth of medicine for the dogs, I can’t buy gas for it. The pickup will now have to stay parked until next month, when (fingers crossed) I can at least afford a 1/4 tank worth. I mean, I have $5 right now, so….
I went to vote. I always vote. I have to. It’s my duty, even when it feels like screaming in a tornado. I hate it.
Now you are going to say “Why didn’t you early vote or do mail in?” Well, the early voting place is 10 miles away and not near where .i do my errands every two weeks. I’d have to burn extra gas. And as for mail in, well now that my state does photo ID you need to send a copy of it when you vote. My printer is broken, and the only way I can print anything is to beg folks to be kind and let me use their printer. I hate over begging.
Speaking of photo IDs…ugh!. Besides the obvious reasons to hate it for making voting harder, I hate it for more petty reasons. My driver’s license photo actually made me cry when I saw it the first time. I keep it in my wallet backwards so I don’t have to see it. And it’s just one more damn step, particularly in a rural place where when I walk in people say “Hi Stephanie”.
Not that I am keen on the “Hi Stephanie” thing. People ask me questions I hate answering. They do ask about Mom, of course, which is always nice when I can tell her someone asked about her, but I wince as any question about me. There is no question that can’t remind me what a disaster my life is. The thing is, they probably don’t really care and are asking because it’s a “thing you do”. I agonize, start to answer, and if I go one sentence too long they don’t exactly hide their disinterest. And then that hurts too.
At least here there are no lines at all. There were four workers and three of us voting.
Man, voting in local races sucks in rural place like this! You know that your vote matters a hell of a lot in a race like county commissioner, but where can you get the info of the candidates? Maybe if I could afford to subscribe to a local paper, but I can’t. And most these candidates don’t even have a damn Facebook page! The ones with no track record as incumbents to Google up, are the worst. The only one that had social media that I could find was involved in a nasty tiff with someone hassling them in bad faith, which, I mean, seeing how they deal with a troll is informative, but WTF about issues?
Anyway, I kept up my “be responsible” track record and voted. And Woo-Hoo! They are giving stickers again! I can finally go back to sticking them in my journal!
Yeah, getting excited by an unimaginatively designed “I voted” sticker is silly and childish, but what the hell. Got take pleasure in dumb things, because pleasure is hard to come by and most things are dumb!!
Now to get back to those bookshelves….
**Next to the leak from the pipe coming out of the well that I STILL can’t get fixed!
