Hi all - long time no post. I haven’t updated this blog in a long time and especially given Cass’s name change I don’t particularly feel like it’s appropriate for me to use it anymore. You can find me @valkyriarising now where I’ll be posting my art, reblogging other people’s art, and posting my new fics and fic updates!

On this episode of
✨Look what I made✨
This is a fic I wrote that is made up of one shots I wrote for my Overwatch OC instead of actually writing a multi-chapter fanfic telling her whole story because my attention span is that of a dog.
You don’t have to read it but I’d figure I would promote myself here for anyone who does, I have a couple other works that’ll come out with my OCs and I actually am working on a multi-chapter fanfic right now as a rewrite for a work I did a LONG time ago! So keep your eyes peeled for that!
Either way, anyone who reads it is greatly appreciated and loved for doing so, I’m always happy to share my works so enjoy!

here was my theory on the timeline
In Eichenwalde, Reinhardt didn't listen. He kept rushing in. He lost an eye and everyone died. He left that battlefield believing it was because none of them were strong enough.
Adhabu Ngumi, seeing the Overwatch group lacked anyone big and strong, decided to join them once he took care of the Omnic Crisis in Africa.
Torbjörn died on that mission in Istanbul. Angela took this personally, and Brigitte grew up despising Overwatch for failing to save him
The Hashimoto clan hired Reinhardt to help kill the Shimada clan. They kept Hanzo and cast Genji adrift, putting him in a ship to Australia. They also trained Kiriko.
Satya was on a plane that crashed over Australia. She used what hardlight tech she had left and became a high ranking Junker, as did her new armored ninja friend.
Overwatch was unable to help in Canada, leaving Sojourn embittered and vengeful.
Adhabu found the young Akande Ogundimu, and trained the boy to be his successor, having saved him from his potential attacked Akinjide Adeyemi. Akande quickly became a powerful force of good for Overwatch.
Cassidy never ended up with Deadlock. Instead, in Mexico, Overwatch found a young Sombra, and took her in.
Angela and Tracer both joined Blackwatch, tired of the Overwatch's incompetence. Unfortunately, Gabriel was a harsh boss, no one ever being enough to help him, Tracer too weak and Angela too merciful.
Talon captured Ana instead of Amelie, gaining a deadly sniper. In turn, Amelie stepped up after Ana killed Gèrard and took her eye.
Zenyatta went with Ramattra that day. His face was damaged, leading him to use a new face with a singular eye.
Without a hacker to cover his tracks, Mauga quickly brought Baptiste back to Talon, where they brainwashed him into the elite assassin Scorpion.
When Overwatch fell, Angela made sure Gabriel didn't make it without issue, leaving him hospitalized in a coma. She and Tracer joined Talon, who had also employed Reinhardt, Brigitte, and Sojourn, as well as a reprogrammed and upgraded Bastion unit. Angela quickly took over Talon, showing no mercy, now leading the terrorist organization fueled by Vengeance.
Ok this, is amazaing, it makes sense and I'm honestly already invested in a story like this. It's a really good concept for a general Reverse or "What if" universe.
The shitty thing is the only character in that timeline that actually fits the concept of a mirror universe is Reinhardt. I'm gonna be honest and also say the Doomfist one is also highly likely cause sometimes in a mirror universe some minor characters do stay the same so the story makes sense.
I'm probably going to make my own timeline for this universe at some point but I'm going to wait for the game mode for this event to come out cause I know damn well that there is going to be interactions for that.
But for now I'll share what we can guess and what is confirmed about this universe.
Ana most likely shot out Amelie's eye in this universe, either it was an assassination attempt pre Amelie joining OW or it was after Amelie joined. However there is another explanation for Amelie's eye.
Amelie's eye could also be a stand in for Moira's experimentation in this universe, as Amelie's other eye is still yellow when they are originally a black/brown, and the scare on her chibi spray is more similar to either a slashing scar or a surgical scar.
Tracer killed Ramattra in this universe, meaning the Alive cinematic still happened. It also means that, most likely, Mondatta and Zenyatta run Null Sector.
Echo's Stealth/Camo skin seems to be her MW skin as new voice lines have been added. That and the addition of a Talon Athena implies that Mina Liao joined Talon.
That's all I can say for now cause I don't have the skins (yet) and no one posts anything apparently, but I'll post updates as soon as I can.

Genji Shimada
So I asked my friend which Overwatch character I should do my next alphabet headcanons about and they said Genji! So I'll be doing Genji next, probably later today.
However while I was thinking about him the thought of his cybernetics came to mind and I went off on a full blown tangent about it so I figured I'd post my thoughts on how much of Genji is a cyborg before I do his relationship stuff.
Tumblr media
This is blackwatch, Genji, I don't know if this is canon or not but for the sake of this I'm saying it is. So as far as body parts go he's definitely missing his legs knee and under. I think he's wearing armor over his thighs though, he has intact femurs. He's missing his right arm and there's some kind of internal damage in his upper chest.
His eye piece comes off seperate to his mouth piece but that doesn't mean his mouth is robotic, I just think he takes the mask part off less often. His head and heart are all intact according to voice lines and evidence from skins.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now might I direct your attention to his canon skins. We know from the short "Dragons" that those green circles on his upper body have a release mechanism meaning they manage pressure of some kind within his body.
(We can also see there's less of them in his OW2 design so it's a possibility they got upgraded to be more efficient.)
Now I'm about to lay down my biggest actual headcanon without much evidence besides speculation and "it'd be cool" to back it up.
I think Genji has robotic lungs.
WILD TAKE I KNOW BUT HEAR ME OUT.
He can eat, heard in the voice line about him being able to handle mercy's coffee, so we know his mouth is intact, along with the rest of his digestive system. I think the mouth part of his mask is to help him breathe. I think there was major damage to his respiratory system to the point where they had to make the choice to give him mechanical replacements, hence the need to release pressure when he exerts a LOT of energy (like after his fight with hanzo in the cinematic).
He breathes in game, so we know he needs lungs. Which makes sense if most of his main organs are intact. If the main damage was to his lungs, they could give him robotic ones. And my claim of them not giving him a lung transplant is supported by the fact that Mauga was given a second CYBERNETIC heart instead of a replacement when he was critically injured.
Also in the Doomfist origin cinematic when he threw Genji into a car he started sparking and held his chest, which I know may just be "oh he's a robot of course" written off, but it'd make sense if it was his lungs!! It would put him out of a fight if he can't supply oxygen to the rest of his body. Plus it would hurt him in his chest!
Going off of this, he can definitely breathe without the mask and obviously would need to take it off to eat (he has a lot of scarring on his throat I think, and maybe his jaw) but the mask hides the scar tissue and helps regulate his breathing more naturally. Now I'm not a doctor so this next part may make no sense, and let me know if it does but maybe the mask is connected to his lungs in like a nervous system kind of way? Since they wouldn't be connected to his nervous system entirely? So when he takes the mask off he has to manually breathe. Like the mask regulates it for him so he can do it subconsciously but without the mask it's a conscious manual breathing situation.
And my only real arguments for him not having a robotic heart instead of lungs is his voice line that says "The heart of a man still beats inside of me." Which of course could be metaphorical, "I'm still the same man, just with a different body." Kind of thing, but also he just never takes off that freaking mouth piece so I was thinking it had to serve a purpose!
Lol I'll get to work on my headcanons now but let me know what y'all think of this 🙏

Do you think that Cross was ever meant to be PARIAH, but was cut for sequel bait? Apparently there are some shots of him in the WOI memories that mention PARIAH. The way the game states that PARIAH would be the only to stand up agains Mercer, and Cross literally beats him in a fight. The game also has people say that PARIAH and Mercer meeting would’ve not good, and how together Mercer and Cross get shit done makes me wonder.
Cross had a really interesting original blurb in the PRIMA guide, which sketches out an early version of the game. The decision to split into a sequel seems to have been made very early on, before the PRIMA guide, because they realized they couldn't fit both Greene AND Pariah into the same game, but the PRIMA materials were written shortly after, because many fundamental character aspects were changed by the game itself. I'll transcribe it, since it's very... vertical:
Resilient, resourceful, and deadly, the Specialist is sent in when things fail to go according to plan - BLACKWATCH'S last line of insurance. His world is a world of absolutes: like mathematics, only one answer can be gained out of any equation. To him the world is easy to understand. He believes BLACKWATCH is all that stands between the average American and a biological apocalypse. His knowledge of BLACKWATCH [has] been highly edited by his superior, the General, to fit his world-view. Confronted with proof that his cause is deceptive, he re-orients his mindset instantly to keep in line with his religious beliefs. Shown absolute proof that his employers are on the wrong side of the moral divide, he will go after them with the same verve he showed as their lapdog - but even worse, he'll do so as a zealot of the highest order. This trait is further exacerbated as Cross begins to realize he too has succumbed to the infection that is rampaging through the city. Unlike the majority of the poor souls who lose higher functions, Cross's training allows him to seek the Hive Mind, and learn the threat the Prototype poses not only to BLACKWATCH, but to his new masters...
Other important things to note: hunters in this iteration of the game actually have limited shapeshifting and consumption abilities - the ones who can consume can pretty much only consume other hunters, and while they can shapeshift into human form, their minds are very much inhuman and they have a difficult time "relating." (This seems to have carried into the game itself, when you get infected vision and realize how many military personnel etc. are walking around infected, and Alex commenting that Greene is using them as spies).
Supreme hunter DOES exist, but he seems like a late-stage addition, both in-and-out of universe. His bio doesn't mention Cross at all, leading me to believe that the Cross/Supreme Hunter merge happened fairly late in development.
And finally, this religion thing in Cross's bio, which is actually seen elsewhere - such as Elizabeth's bio and old concept art, where they were attempting to capture a "goddess" vibe with the character (with PARIAH kinda-sorta having "born of a virgin/immaculate conception" vibes, since the father is never mentioned). Maybe even the edgy wings on Mercer's jacket, which we've seen since some of his earliest concepts + he originally had something to do with crows and could sprout crow wings out of his stupid backpack. Also the religious character is literally named CROSS.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
At least we can say that Cross was definitely meant to fall in with the virus, and that it would've been a big betrayal - his bio outlines a clear arc of "Blackwatch are the good guys yippee!" to "Friendship ended with Blackwatch, now the Prototype is my best friend" to "what if the virus is Jesus" to "friendship ended with the Prototype, now the Virus (which may or may not be god and/or Jesus) is my best friend."
In that sense, if you imagine that the final boss was originally meant to be PARIAH and Supreme Hunter didn't exist, I think the Occam's Razor solution here is that Cross was originally meant to be your ally (like Phone Voice in the game), and then slowly go off the deep end as the infection took hold and started influencing his thoughts. This would culminate in betraying the player and using his position as an intelligent hunter with a human form under Greene's control + his position as Captain within Blackwatch's ranks to free PARIAH.
At that point, I don't really know how it'd go - but I imagine he'd be consumed by PARIAH for his trouble, given the hunter bios have so much "they eat each other to become stronger" stuff in it. Whether this happens on-screen (the cool epic dramatic option) or off-screen (like it did with Supreme Hunter), I can't say.
It's kind of interesting, though, from a religious angle. I know I've talked before about how Xander is the "dad" in the story, and Greene is the "mom," but the religion aspect kind of adds to it. Greene the virgin Mary, the Virus impregnating her, PARIAH as Jesus, Cross as an apostle... and what does that make Alex? Xander? Man playing with god? An usurper? I can't say anything for sure, but this theme is definitely in there, so it's interesting to talk about.
So... yeah! I don't necessarily know that that answered your question, but it's interesting, right?

Are there sports in SRC?
Yep, lots of em! I'm not big on sports so I don't really think much about them, but what I DO know is that a couple of them are combat robotics and dragon wrestling!
Combat robotics is an extremely popular sport in Cier, specifically in high-density cities such as Blackwatch and Andorough. While it has been popular for several decades, combat robotics has only been made commercialized through television within the past twenty years. The sport consists of two or more man-made, remote-controlled robots duking it out in an arena for a set amount of time. Due to its origin being from Blackwatch, televised robot combat rules typically prohibit any sort of magical element to the robot use, such as runes and wands. Pure physics and engineering are the name of the game; the simpler the better. In certain locations, magic use is allowed in combat.
Dragon wrestling is a lesser explored concept than combat robotics, but just think of it as regular wrestling but with different weight classes of dragons. People of all species love to watch it, dragons go NUTS for it, they LOVE wrestling.
Here's a few images relating to combat robotics, I have several characters in SRC who either participate or specialize in them. There were way more active in the sport before the SRC server split up and most of the people participating left.
Bog griffin, a full body spinner built by Teimarr Allakoul and his dad
Tumblr media
An old image of Bantam and a drum spinner they built
Tumblr media
Smii and several combat robots [Deadbolt, a vertical spinner, and Booster, a flywheel flipper]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Smii's family discussing one of their bots, Aceport
Tumblr media
Piquet in the past also worked on a pretty well renowned combat robotics team, which is how he got scouted for his current range of work. His team lost many fights by no-show because he spent so much time trying to repair the robot to full before letting it back in the ring.

ngl I'm curious about your ideas for Venture and spaceranger. I saw a theory SR could be Fio from Blackwatch and I think Venture could be our Portuguese hero, maybe has a build (turret, wall, etc) made of duravidro. Still hoping for heroes 42 to 45 being Lynx 17, Maximilien, a Roman champion fighter, and an Afro-American New York firefighter.
Okay lot of parts to this one to answer
Starting with Venture, here's their art for reference:
Tumblr media
Now, with their pretty apparent explorer/excavation-themed design, with giant drill and what looks like climbing/excavation gear on their back, my first thought for what map they tie into is actually Petra, the deathmatch map set in Southern Jordan's wonder of the world. The map is littered with details alluding to an ongoing excavation project, so I think Venture could be part of that team. Plus, I think the slightly darker skin tone could possibly fit an Arabic character.
While I can't make it out with just this little image, I think the insignia on this sleeve could be the key to figuring out this character's faction.
Tumblr media
As for kit, I don't really have any great ideas yet. While their drill at first appears to be a melee weapon, letting you just drill into people for rapid close-range damage, but I feel like it could have some kind of surprise projectile component.
In addition to me thinking they're from Jordan and not Portugal, I also doubt they're a "builder" character due to those being an ongoing struggle to balance in the Damage role. My belief for what Esperanca is alluding to is still a Tank hero that we won't be seeing for a while. Considering how long it takes heroes to be developed (note Mauga was just revealed today after being first teased in 2019), I think something as relatively recent as Esperanca won't lead to something new so "soon".
(I actually have a character for my original hero/class shooter project War Bots who uses a drill in a couple ways, and they are actually a builder character who uses it to build buildings and also tunnel underground to move around safely. They deserve their own post soon though.)
As a reminder, we are due to see some early gameplay footage of Venture tomorrow in the "Overwatch 2: What's Next" segment of Blizzcon tomorrow at 1:30 PM PST (so 4:30 for me in the EST), so we won't have to wait long to see some of how they play!
Going from underground to out of this world, let's talk about "Space Ranger" next!
Tumblr media
(I gotta say it if I haven't already that I love both of these designs, even if they're still certainly still concept art and might actually change a fair bit before release, especially in the case of Star Command here releasing all the way in the far off galaxy of Season 12. Still, very cute, love the colors and overall vibe, big fan.)
So starting off with the theory you saw, the idea that this is Fio, the Blackwatch pilot from Retribution, certainly is... interesting, certainly an idea with precedent if Sojourn is anything to go by. I didn't remember what they looked like so I checked the wiki and...
Tumblr media
...Yeah no these are completely different people, sorry. Fio has what looks to be red hair underneath the helmet and... I wanna say a European face? Ranger meanwhile has the dang Twilight Sparkle hair, and her face strikes me more like how East Asian characters tend to look in Overwatch's art style, like D.va and Kiriko with their slightly more "anime-esque" faces. Not to say I wouldn't welcome Fio to the roster (even though they'd be. Far, Far from my first pick for an established character to join the roster), but this definitely ain't them.
As for who I do think this could be, or rather what characters they're related to, I think between possibly being Asian and also being more obviously space-themed, I think they could very likely be affiliated with Lucheng Interstellar, the Chinese aerospace company behind Horizon Lunar Colony. According to the wiki, they also have other space station projects they are/were working on, so Space Ranger could be related to either of those.
As for kit, I don't have much to say for them either. Some neat ideas I saw were that they could be another hyper-mobile support like Mercy or Lucio, and could possibly even have some sort of gravity-manipulating buff. I really don't have much to say yet, but there's plenty of room for cool ideas!
Speaking of cool ideas, lemme take a sec to go over all yours!
Lynx 17 is definitely a popular pick I can get behind, between their fun design and the capacity for a support hacker-themed character. My Sombra Role Requeue was just one way to take the concept, I feel like there's even more room to start from the ground up! Though I do also wanna shoutout Franky, a character from the Deadlock Rebels novel that was essentially the other main founding member of the gang along with Cassidy and Ashe (and B.O.B. too, of course), who's also a hacker. I don't blame people for giving Lynx 17 higher priority, both due to being around longer and also being another cool Omnic, as well as being canonically non binary already. I would like to see a human NB character sooner than later, (hence why I've been referring to Venture and SR gender-neutrally this whole post) but Lynx still slaps so I'd be happy to see them too.
Maximilien is I think probably the most notable lore character that's yet to be playable now that we've finally got our greasy mitts on Mauga. Another fun established design and personality who's been around the story even longer than Mauga actually. Shoot, we've even seen the bastard in one of the story trailers, with Doomfist implying that he's got a job to do that the greedy omnic seems uncomfortable with. That could easily mean he has to get his hands dirty when he doesn't want to, so... could be teasing him being playable? My main objection to his inclusion on the roster is that I don't have a great idea for what exactly he'd... do. He's basically a cowardly civilian who just happens to be bankrolling a terrorist organization. This could definitely work into his kit, making him a support who sucks in direct fights but has ways of backing up allies. The one solid ability idea I got for him though is that his gun would be a silenced pistol. that's it. Now obviously some creativity on the hero design team's part could fix that issue, but still, it's something to consider.
Now for the characters who aren't as established, a roman gladiator is another one that's been tossed around a lot since the map was first revealed. Like I said with a character teased by the Portugal map though, OW heroes take a long time to develop, and they're still catching up on established characters like Mauga, so the teasers from OW2's new maps could take a WHILE to get to at this rate. Which isn't shocking really, they wanna keep Overwatch going for a while and I personally can get behind that, so I understand them setting up so many teasers they can follow up on later. As for the gladiator specifically, this idea still hasn't actually excited me that much. I struggle right now to think about what could make one of the mech gladiators unique from the tanks we already have on the roster. A melee weapon and shield? Reinhardt. A spear? Orisa. Again, creativity solves a lot of problems, but it's why I've never been that excited for this idea since Colosseo was first revealed.
That last idea though, THAT has me interested.
I've honestly never heard that idea before! It's so cool too, a firefighter would have such a fun pool of ideas to work from. Overwatch doesn't really have any water-themed heroes, and as far as I'm aware the team hasn't considered it aside from one rejected concept for what eventually became Lifeweaver. I'm honestly not even sure what role would fit a firefighter better, because the bulky outfits and some kind of water pushing ability would fit Tank, but the whole "life saving" part could fit Support better. This is such a cool idea, I'd honestly love to hear you elaborate on it more!
So yeah, wanted to give a thorough response talking about all of these future heroes, confirmed and otherwise. I'll almost certainly have more to say tomorrow when they talk about the two new faces, but that's for 20 hours from now. Thanks for the ask though, fun to talk about all this!

Abby headcanons ALL OF THEM
AUGH (mwah I kiss u thank u)
1. Holiday headcanon
Abby isn’t a big fan of holidays- he didn’t have a normal childhood and he’s got a hard time connecting with people- but he’s slowly warming up to them, being a part of a team again
2. Cooking headcanon
Abby spent time after he left blackwatch back in New Orleans, where he’s originally from, so now he knows how to make a mean dinner. He likes learning to cook though; eating is one of his favorite things
3. Sleeping headcanon
Abby is much more prone to cat naps throughout the day rather than sleeping through the night- he still has issues feeling safe enough to sleep a full eight hours
4. Driving headcanon
Do Not Get Into A Car With This Tiger Man He Does Not Have A Valid License
5. Bathing/showering headcanon
Abby keeps himself as clean as he can, although sometimes it takes a lot to groom himself to human standards
(Abby always smells like pine and a hint of spice)
6. Hugging headcanon
Abby is a wonderful hugger, if he’s comfortable enough with you. He likes to squeeze the life out of people to show his love
7. Kissing headcanon
Abby is surprisingly shy about kisses, but he’d be a sweet, gentle kisser
8. Sex headcanon
Abby is Big Horny on main but sometimes he has trouble finding partners (see the aforementioned tiger man part). He’s very attractive though, so a lot of his partners have been omnics
9. General physical contact headcanon
Abby isn’t big on physical contact unless you’re close to him; even then he can be a little unsure. But if you win his trust he’s very affection and will lay on you (you’re pinned)
10. Physical appearance headcanon
Abby is a Big Fluffy Tiger Man
11. Wardrobe headcanon
Abby owns a lot of sweatpants and sweatshirts, but that’s mostly because he doesn’t feel bad about cutting holes in them for his ears and his tail
12. Jewelry headcanon
He really doesn’t wear jewelry honestly!! He’s not big on it
13. Nickname headcanon
Abby is a nickname for Abeo- He’s not aware if he has a last name or not. That was the only name listed in his file
14. Dancing headcanon
Abby is very good at dancing, but it’s not something he does in public. Usually it’s reserved for when he’s alone listening to music
15. Singing headcanon
Abby’s vocal chords were altered by the experiments he went through, so he isn’t much of a singer. He does in the shower though (it sounds like yowling or meows with a particular vibrato sometimes)
16. Anger headcanon
Abby has a …. Shall we say short fuse, but a lot of restraint. Even if he’s ready to burn down a building he’ll hold it in
17. Soft spot headcanon
Abby is very gentle and kind to kids and to omnics; even if you’re just someone in need, he’ll stick his neck out for you
18. Favorite possession headcanon
Abby has a stuffed tiger plush from his therapist (who belongs to @willowwhispers ) and a necklace from his mother that was recovered from the lab he was found in. It’s the only bit of jewelry he’ll wear, wrapped around his wrist
19. Favorite photograph headcanon
Abby really doesn’t like pictures; he’ll duck out of the way or hide his face any time a camera comes out. He’s a bit of a cryptid that way
20. Relationship with/thoughts on (blank character) headcanon
Abby gets along well with Reyes- he was a solid commander and stuck up for him when everybody else wanted to put him in a lab. He was also pretty instrumental in Abby wanting to experience the world outside of blackwatch and not just hide somewhere or become a merc for hire.

Sombra uncovered a world wide conspiracy represented by an eye symbol, and that plot line hasn't been touched since. The conspiracy eye symbol could be connected with the Iris (eye motif) or god ai Anubis (Egyptian eye of Ra) but it got me thinking.
Apparently omnics were originally aliens in concepts for OW/Project Titan. (Seemingly an alien invasion/cohabitation conflict?)
Okay, so combine everything going on: Talon pushing global conflict in hopes of pushing humanity's advancement, Anubis' omnic crisis seemingly having no known trigger but causing mass advancement in tech, The Iris advancing omnic sentience ai and giving golden iris bestowed powers, Overwatch developing various cutting edge technology (teleporting Slipstream jet that gave the game's mascot Tracer her time powers, secretly hiring controversial Moira + Blackwatch, etc), and all the other things referenced in Sombra's conspiracy web like how Volskaya was using tech from "the enemy"(omnics) to build massive machines to fight... omnics.
OW2's original plan is canceled now, but think about it:
Ow1: intro to lore, first omnic crisis lore, FPS
Ow2: second omnic crisis and in the stories you play as OW pushing back or even beating Null Sector/Talon, PVE setting up the basis for an MMO
Ow3: MMO... with a bigger threat than NullSector/Talon.
Omnics were originally aliens. There are HUGE advancements in tech happening at high speed. Sombra discovered a conspiracy that changes everything ('sides' don't matter).
TDLR; The Sombra conspiracy might have been that a secret group is trying to advance humanity past a key civ/tech stage ASAP so Earth can fight off a technologically advanced 'alien' enemy that plans to invade Earth in the near future.
The focus on space travel even after the failure of Winston's crew is interesting, too.
So what kind of enemy? Aliens aiming to take over, or Alternate dimension/timelime trying to take over, or Time travelers from the future coming to attack the past earth to prevent an event in history... it would be something big where the heroes roster has to work together to fight off the invading threat in the MMO.
This would easily set up a large scale threat for an OW MMO story and landscape.
And with Tracer (time travel powers related to not time tech but teleportation tech) being the mascot, and with seeing that crew that worked on Overwatch (and Project Titan) went to work on a "parralel timelines fighting eachother" lore game Valorant, and from there going to work on a Valorant related MMO called "Project T"-- it makes me think the Sombra conspiracy would explain why multiple characters could exist on the same map, and it may very well have involved different timelines or atleast some kind of alien threat invading earth. Sigma even comments things in his voice lines that imply different dimensions or timelines.
But yeah, if Project T as an MMO comes to be, it may have been what Project Titan was intended as.

Hey, do you think that idealism could be played with in Overwatch? Like, some of the characters would grow conflicted as the missions get more intense, and that they would have to do some drastic things in order to complete the mission. I mean, I know that Tracer would have herself a drastic character arc, including the fact that she is literally held together by a chronal accelerator, and if it were to be destroyed once again, she would have to go through another time-displaced nightmare.
Dude literally the core of Overwatch's worldbuilding is 'an optimistic future,' that's literally what's defined it since the 'Titan' game project failed. That's also what helped it develop the bright and colorful aesthetic that sets it apart from a lot of other FPS's. Like I don't know what the question is here--The characters have been developing, albeit agonizingly slowly and in bits and pieces in different media over the years. We've seen Torbjörn gradually overcome his hatred of omnics and basically adopt Bastion, the 'Uprising' PVE mode's place in the game's lore has really expanded both with Tracer's London Calling comic and Ramattra's addition to the cast, we've seen Ana basically pull herself out of a hole of pain and grief following the collapse of Overwatch and actually become more at peace with the lives she's taken with her Bastet short story, we've seen Satya befriend Zenyatta and start to question Viskhar, we saw both how fucked up Blackwatch was as an organization and how that impacted Overwatch in Retribution, and we actually saw further fallout from the Venice incident through Storm Rising-- There's been two novels like--- what are you asking?
Hell, Tracer's Chronal accelerator did get destroyed in her fight with Doomfist in the Doomfist Origin story video. Like---??
"Should there be escalating stakes in the story?" Like... yes? That's usually how action stories work? I mean to be fair, I also always felt Overwatch operated on a bit of 'comic book logic' sense of stakes, like yes the story can get very over-the-top, but it's also being told over a very long period of time. Like the full story of the game's world spans over thirty years, so basically you have to be mindful of what events would impact which characters' development, when, and how.

what i'm looking for! —
friends outside of roleplaying!
piggybacking off my previous point, but sharing art, making spotify playlists, sharing aesthetics, etc!
as already mentioned, i am looking for a long-term 1x1 roleplay.
worldbuilding!!
activity! i’m generally a very active person and can send multiple replies throughout the day. i understand life is busy but communication is important to me while roleplaying! if i will be unavailable, i’ll do my best to tell you!
more information, specifically my preferences, tropes, fandoms, etc are below!
my preferences! —
i'm fluent in english. i write in third person and past tense with semi-literate to literate responses depending on the circumstances of the roleplay! i also use lowercase for aesthetic purposes.
be 18+ please! my limit is those above twenty five!
i roleplay only on discord, where my pen name is different! after we discuss the basics, we can exchange usernames! i also only roleplay in mini private servers, and i do not use bots.
i'm a plot oriented person, so i only participate in roleplays where both parties are willing to play multiple characters! of course, we discuss who is who, but regardless, i do not only play a love interest. i also have a few limits about characters i won’t play, especially in star wars, but we can discuss that in private!
canon / canon, oc / oc and oc / canon!! f / m, f / f, m / m, nb / nb, m / nb, f / nb!! i love variety! i won't just do one of either category, especially f / m oc / canon ships! give me all kinds of ships.
i love doing more than one roleplay at a time, especially with different fandoms! however, i won't do two roleplays just for the sake of our ocs. let's create a plot that features both of our ocs!
speaking of ocs, the more, the merrier! i love creating ocs and hearing about ocs others make! the probability of me wanting to kiss your oc on the head will most likely be extremely high.
the occasional smut is fine, though i don't like it being the focus of the roleplay.
i don't use real people as faceclaims. i use my own artistic abilities, picrews or animated faceclaims! i don't roleplay with people who steal art. i would also prefer if future roleplay partners don’t use real life faceclaims.
i use forms for my ocs occasionally! it really depends on if you do or don't, anything is fine by me!
from the bottom of my heart, i do not care about what you ship. however, i will not include incest, non-con, underage, pedophilia or anything along those lines. we can talk about other general limits/triggers in private!
inactivity. i understand everyone is busy, but communication is extremely important! if no one is talking for at least a month, i automatically delete the server or leave it. i’m a very patient person, however, so communicate and we can figure something out!
things i want to write! —
forbidden love
enemies to lovers
lovers to enemies
slow burn
fluff, action, angst!!
found family
canon / canon, oc / oc, oc / canon!! f / m, f / f, m / m, nb / nb, m / nb, f / nb!! again, variety! i am very open to ships!
fandoms, will be updating this continuously! —
star wars, aka the fixation rn: the clone wars, the bad batch, the tales of the jedi. please have seen tcw and tbb if you're interested! i also like to incorporate legends. i am quite opinionated about canon characters and i’m also jedi order neutral.
overwatch: unfortunately, i have not played the game. however, i am very familiar with the lore. and i love blackwatch era!
transformers: transformers prime and bayverse / knight ( preferably lore / select characters from all continuities ) and influences from comics!
dc animation: earth-16, dcau, dcamu and influences from comics! i love the lantern corps and justice league!

I think the Overwatch vs TF2 thing is fucking stupid.
Like, you're comparing two different games that have very different methods of how it's stories and characters are approached. Why is it an issue when Overwatch doesn't have the same batshit insane approach to writing as TF2 does, but not when loads of other games don't?
Or other franchises? We don't usually do that for other series, do we? We don't complain that Hajime no Ippo doesn't have planet destroying fights, monsters and demons in it like the Dragon Ball series, now do we?
And this is even made worse when people try to compare the lore of Overwatch and TF2 and just completely get aspects of both wrong. "Cassidy is three different ages!" no he was not, someone just got things wrong about Cassidy's back story, but that post got really popular despite how easily disproven it was.
Let me do it.
No, Cassidy didn't form the original Deadlock gang in 1976, him and Ashe are just founders of another Deadlock gang from their own era. No, Blackwatch wasn't first created 8 years prior to the stories events, it's existence to the general public became known 8 years prior. He was never three different ages.
And some other things that are said are weird.
"The reason Overwatch is bad because it is trying to be serious, but it should be more like TF2."
Are you saying something needs to be like TF2 to be entertaining? Are you saying serious series suddenly needs to be as mad as TF2 now? And are you saying that Overwatch, where Winston, Hammond, Junkrat, Roadhog, Junker queen and Reaper exist isn't really fucking silly?
Just stop trying to compare them to try and somehow prove that one is better than the other, they are not the same thing.

i loooove cass being a big brother to pharah and genji so much im just imagining both of them getting hurt and they see an animalistic rage in cass's eyes as he protects them
Here's the thing, Cassidy has a lot of faith in both Pharah and Genji's ability to protect themselves. So if they're in a situation where Cassidy actually needs to step in and protect them... well then I feel bad for the person who hurt them because they are beyond dead.
Also while typing this I remembered how bad Genji got hurt while fighting Doomfist in Doomfists origin cinematic and now I can't stop think about how Cassidy would have reacted to that.
Anyway I would like to talk about one of my favorite head canons. Cassidy was Reyes second in command, meaning that even if he wasn't officially in the rank of Captain, he would have still had that rank. I don't think Cassidy would pull rank often, except when people were bad mouthing Genji.
We see in Storm Rising that when Genji is talking about Blackwatch, he doesn't talk about it fondly (the only character from Blackwatch he is still in contact with is Cassidy). Combining that with how Mercy responds to when Genji is asked about Blackwatch, "He likes us better", the fact that in Retribution Reyes only really refers to Genji as "the ninja", and it being implied that a lot of Blackwatch agents ended up joining Talon. It signifies to me that there is a high likely hood that Genji wasn't treated the best. Which I have talked about before.
I honestly think that Cassidy would pull rank when people were bad mouthing Genji, it wouldn't be often (because protective Cassidy is already scary without his rank), and I think he would do it as less of protecting Genji and more, he knows that Genji won't react well so he's dealing with the situation before things get out of hand.
On a different note, both Pharah and Genji have gotten teary eyed at least once, because Cassidy said he was proud of them. I refuse to be told otherwise.

CLASS OF 2013
synopsis: faustine & reyes have a talk.
characters: faustine, reyes, commander morrison (mentioned) & cassidy (very, very, briefly)
warnings: angst, no resolution, not proofread. possibly ooc reyes, brief mentions of getting yelled at, yelling, mentions of prison, uh.. heavily based off that one scene in invincible where mark is like “hit me!” so. lots of mentions of getting hit basically, cursing, etc. + takes place during the blackwatch era!
note: faustine archambeau is my original character.
word count: ~800
SILENCE INFECTS THE AIR THROUGHOUT COMMANDER REYES’ OFFICE. reyes looks at archambeau with a look that can only be described as pure disappointment. he looks at her from his leather office chair before sighing and pinching the bridge of his nose. though, she doesn’t look back at him, rather looking down at her hands, her bruised, bandaged hands.
she’s seen things that no nineteen year old should have been seeing, she feels like a weapon rather than a woman at this point. she’s tired of having to sit through commander morrison's yells and lectures, having to sit through each failed training session after training session. perhaps she regrets joining blackwatch, and would’ve rather spend god-knows-how-long rotting in that old prison cell in france. faustine rests her head on her hand before looking at reyes, raising an eyebrow, expecting for him to say something.
“you weren’t listening to my orders and look how it turned out. what’s not working out? am i not training you well enough? do you need to step back for a few missions?” he sighs, unsure of what to do. he doesn’t want to shout or berate the young girl, he knows that morrison had done that earlier—   he heard his yelling from down the hall. “i don’t think you’re ready to be on the field yet,” when he looks up from the mission’s files he’s met with faustine’s tired eyes. “i’ll let you take off for a while, for you to take some time to—” suddenly, he’s cut off by faustine, who’s now fully sitting up.
“hit me.”
“what—-? i’m not going to hit you archambea–” he furrowed his eyebrows. her words confuse him, though the two words are enough to grant faustine his full attention.
“fucking hit me, reyes.”  she stares right at the commander, venom laced with her words. she glares at him, hands gripping the armrests of the chair she sits in. “hit me now. do it! i wasn’t fucking ready before, but i am now. i can take it– i can take every blow and punch you try to throw at me, and i can take anything that devil of a commander says to me. so do it! come on! hit me!” her arms are shaking, whether it was from the sheer amount of force that she’s gripping into the arm rest or her anger towards reyes, she was unsure. she doesn’t bother to keep quiet now, it’s the least of her concerns. right now, she cares about proving herself to the man she so dearly looks up to.
“i’m not gonna hit you, faustine, i can’t–” her words shock him, and he’s unsure on how he should react. he would never hit her outside of training, he couldn’t, she was too dear to him. it hurts reyes to see the young girl so angry and defeated, because of him nonetheless.
“i wasn’t ready all those times you hit me before, alright? the thought of you hitting me, it scared me. i’m fine with taking hits from those talon agents, but this is you. it was horrifying. but i can take the pain, and i can take it now. so fucking hit me, i’m strong now—”
“i know that–”
“no you fucking don’t! you think i can’t do this, that i’m not good enough to be on the field, but hit me, and let me prove you wrong!” she stands up, tears threatening to spill from her eyes. she says each word between uneven breaths. she slams her hands onto his desk, looking at him with nothing but sadness in her eyes. “please, gabriel, just hit me.”
“kid, i..” he’s at a loss of words. moving his chair back slightly, he says nothing. for the first time in a while, he’s at a loss of words. though, this time, it’s not because of the disappointment he has in her, no, it’s the disappointment he feels towards himself. he’d never tell her, but he cannot help but feel disappointed that he let faustine feel this way, that she needed to prove herself to him.
defeated, faustine looks down in shame, tears shedding from her eyes and dropping down onto reyes’ desk.
“please, just do it. i’m– i’m strong enough now, and i can do this! this is.. this is all i’ve ever wanted when i joined blackwatch, when you got me out of prison. i just,” she sighs, looking up and shaking her head before sitting back down in the chair, wiping tears away from her face. “i just want to prove myself to you, i wanna be a leader like you are, i want to be like you.”
“and you will be, one day, hyeon-ju, you’ll be better than me, even.”
“but what if that day never comes?”
“trust me, it will.”

May I request a classpect for Alex Mercer from Prototype?
Specifically, I mean the Blacklight Virus Alex Mercer, not the human Alex Mercer. The Blacklight Virus assimilates Alex at the beginning of the game and takes his identity, believing itself to be the real Alex and going by his name for the rest of the series. Virus Alex and Human Alex are two seperate characters, with fairly different goals and personalities.
If you have any questions about him, just let me know and I'll try to answer you.
Of course! Since I am not familiar with this character I had to do some research using the fandom wiki and gameplay videos. My first impression of Mercer left me torn between the Thief of Doom, Prince of Doom, or Prince of Life as possible classpects for him. My final decision was influenced primarily by his actions in Prototype 2. Explanation and analysis under the cut!
First, who is Alex Mercer? Here’s what I’ve discovered (and please feel free to correct any misinformation):
Dr. Alexander Mercer was a scientist working for Gentek investigating and creating viruses. While the scientists there were told they were finding a way to cure all disease, in reality they were creating bioweapons. When the government told Gentek to shut the program down, Gentek set about killing the scientists on the project, one by one. Dr. Mercer managed to escape the bloodshed before being cornered by Blackwatch operatives. He subsequently broke the vial of virus he had taken with him and died from his gunshot wounds, where the virus took over his body.
This series of events created the Alex Mercer of Prototype 1 and 2. Alex awakens with no memory of his life, believing himself to be Dr. Mercer himself. Throughout Prototype 1 he investigates Gentek’s plot while traversing a city overtaken by the virus, killing and consuming numerous  people along the way. His ability to “consume” others (and their abilities/memories) is just one of many new powers he has acquired due to the virus’s mutation, as well as increased strength, speed, and eventually, monstrous claws.
By the end of Prototype 1, Mercer discovers that he is unable to die and leaves the city in order to travel the earth, contemplating if he is truly human. Due to a perfect storm of bad experiences, he comes to the conclusion that all of humanity is wicked, selfish, and irredeemable. His disillusion is so great that he decides he must wipe the world clean of human life using the virus (effectively creating a single, hivemind entity). He is eventually defeated by the protagonist of Prototype 2.
Taking all of the above into account, I would classpect Alex Mercer as a: Prince of Life.
Princes begin life hating their aspect and attempting to destroy it, due to an everyday influence that has made them opposed to it. To the ignorant observer they can appear to be their opposite aspect because of this. Paradoxically, they also utilize their hated aspect as a weapon of destruction.  As with all classpects, the Prince of Life starts out as their inverse. In this case, they start out as a Sylph of Doom. Alex Mercer is a special case, given that he was born out of Dr. Mercer’s death. However, Dr. Mercer’s personality and life still influence Alex enough that he can be considered Alex’s inverse. The Sylph of Doom is concerned with protecting and assisting disease, order, and caution. At Gentek, Dr. Mercer was a cynical man, invested in perfecting his viruses above all else. When his paranoia could not protect him or the vial he was carrying, he died and was reborn as the Prince of Life: a new, powerful, and destructive being.
The Life aspect has to do with disregarding rules, rising above the competition, and growing despite all odds. It is concerned with the betterment of both itself and others, mutating into something new. The original Dr. Mercer had a harsh childhood, which could easily have made him hate the self serving nature of the Life aspect. This character trait can be seen in full force with Alex, who moves from merely hating greed to hating all human life on the planet. At first glance, Alex Mercer is nothing but the Doom aspect, a walking viral outbreak, misfortune incarnate. Yet at the same time, he perfectly exemplifies Life. He refuses to let anyone, not Blackwatch, not Heller, hinder his plans. No matter what obstacle is in his way, he adapts and physically mutates to overcome it. Along the way, he destroys the literal lives of others in order to meet his ends. But, as with all Life players, he feels he is doing the right thing. His grand plan to infect the world is the only way to save humanity from itself.
As a Prince of Life he would share his classpect with characters such as Ultron from the Avengers and Zathrian from Dragon Age: Origins.
I also used the song No Children by The Mountain Goats as a reference for this analysis.
Notable Quote: "Huh. Welcome to the top of the food chain."
I hope this helps! I will post his official character classpecting post soon.
