Happy Friday! Here’s the Smiling Critters (minus one unfortunately) as the Fruits of the Spirit! These little guys have been around on my FYP for a while, and reading more into their personalities, they kinda reminded me as the FOTS! Read more on my headcanons for thee designs below and why they were assigned a certain fruit!
Bobby Bearhug: She’s a pretty obvious one, love! Her little pendant in on a bracelet, as she is very into fashion and making them for her besties!
Dogday: Joy, for his happy demeanor! Bobby made him a collar to match his dog theme. He is brothers with Catnap, and is very close friends with Crafty Corn.
Picky Piggy: She is forbearance, aka self control. It takes a lot of self control to make the right food choices, so I assigned that to her. She is close friends with Hoppy, although all of the girls are very close knit, as are the boys! Bobby made her a bib to match her food theme!
Crafty Corn: Kindness I thought really suited her. She’s closest with Dogday, although she likes hanging out with her girlies too! Bobby made her an earring with all of the Critters’ colors on it to signify her close relationships with her friends!
Catnap: Peace is a pretty obvious one, as he is always chill. He is brothers (not blood) with Dogday. Bobby made him a necklace, although he just puts it around his tail most of the time.
Hoppy Hopscotch: Faithfulness because of her character description! It says that she goes and faces danger, no matter how big it is, and always gets back up no matter how bad she got beaten. Much like most Christians in their faith! She’s closest with Picky, and likes playing soccer. Bobby made her an anklet, although when she plays, must take it off to avoid injury.
Bubba Bubbafent: Goodness is for him because of him trying to push his friends it the best direction. He has a necklace from Bobby, and even though is seen as a nerd, is quite good at sports, surprisingly.
(I didn’t include him because there wasn’t enough fruits, but if I had to pick a trait for Kickin Chicken, it would be courage! I would relate him to David from David and Goliath. I will draw him soon I swear).

Noda from twitter said that Johann is the Judas of VnC and sent me down a spiral. Because one of Jesus’ missions was to convert sinners and spread the good news. You can interpret that as Vanitas’ whole healing curse-bearers thing. Assume then that Vanitas is Jesus. Bear with me pls. We can also assume Johann spider reveal will be the first turning point before everything goes to shit. Tipping the chain of events that’ll lead to Vanitas dying. What I mean by this is Judas betrays the squad. What’s funny is that Monsieur Spider is working with Ruthven and the extremist chasseurs aka the Church. Now, Judas betrayed Jesus mainly for greed. And it’s possible Johann, if spider, is being paid by Ruthven.
Btw when Judas goes to betray Jesus it’s described as “Satan entered him”. This could like the times we’ve seen Johann’s mask slip and he shows his crueler side. But it’s also a large belief that Judas was trying to scam the chief priests and get back at the Roman government. Judas very much believed in the coming of a mighty Messiah to free them from the Romans but Jesus was being too weak. He thought Jesus needed a little push in the right direction. So he betrayed him, expecting Jesus to perform a miracle and disappear like he always does. That didn’t happen and Jesus got condemned to death. Some ppl think that’s why he returned the 30 pieces of silver. This isn’t explicitly stated in the bible but simply popular theories people have.
Because this wasn’t the plan. Johann could be doing all this to get back at a society who’ve shunned dhams, his family. Initially I said Dante is Jesus but that’s saying he’s betraying Dante. Which I don’t think that’s the case but Dante will get wrapped up into it. So I guess you could still make an argument. He could kiss Dante as an apology , I could see him blowing a kiss at Vanitas to be a bitch. He’s made it very clear he isn’t a fan of him. But now it’s...what comes next?
Because Judas commits sui@ide. I don’t think it’s beyond Mochijun to write smth like that. If Dante or Richie or both die because of his involvement in all this, it’s not impossible. In PH, Alice did technically off herself to protect Oz and Alyss. And we did come back from hiatus to a flashback of Astolfo attempting so I cannot say it’s beyond her. Finally the traitors’ names begin with a J. Imma leave it at that.

And thy mercy shall follow me
6. She woke at dawn.
She lay on her side, her face turned to the courtyard which was filling with the morning’s light. There was a perfect clarity in how it made everything which had been one in night become individual and beautiful in the way of ordinary things. She felt herself like the night’s shadows, a darkness without border, cold and alone. Bereft.
It was a terrible moment to wake and feel John was dead.
She sobbed, once, and swallowed the sound.
“Hush, my lady, all is well,” John said.
She was so startled, she could not move. And then she became aware she could not move because she was held in the circle of his arms, her head pillowed on one, the other wrapped around her. She held his hand in hers, clasped against her breast, their fingers laced together. It was a lovers’ embrace, one she had never shared with her husband, nor any man. He was alive and though warm, his fever had dropped and the hand that she held was steady.
“You are better,” she said. “The Lord has brought you through your crisis.”
“…though I shall go in the midst of shadow of death; I shall not dread evils, for thou art with me,” he said, the Portuguese slower than usual. He was trying to give her the feeling of the English words, how they rang in his mind. “Thou, Mariko, hast brought me through—”
“That is blasphemy,” she said. Aghast, she could not yet ignore the spark of joy within herself to be arguing with him again. The overwhelming sense of peace that came from lying with him and knowing him to be alive, to be still inviolably, himself.
“You already knew me to be a heretic,” he said. “I can’t see how this should trouble you any more than any other transgressions of mine.”
Mariko was silent.
Beneath her, she felt John’s arm become tense.
“You are not truly wroth, are you, Mariko-sama? I intended only to express my gratitude for what you have done for me. How much it meant to me to hear your voice through the pain and the terror. To feel your hands upon me, so gentle, when everything else hurt so greatly,” he said. She had never heard him sound shy before, never beseeching, vulnerable. She did not believe any man of her acquaintance would allow himself such openness with a woman who was not a courtesan, paid for pleasure and even more, discretion.
“I am not angry. I am not even as surprised as I ought to be,” she said. Their hands were still clasped, pressed against her bare skin as her robe had loosened in the night. She looked within herself for shame or dismay, could find nothing but relief. Gladness.
There was a tremendous comfort in being close to him and she would have to give it up.
Soon enough.
“Sugi will come in shortly, with a meal and tea,” she said. It was a warning, rendered in the most delicate fashion.
“And we should not be found thus,” he said, blunt and bold as before he’d fallen ill. Himself.
“No,” she said. “But a few moments remain.”
A few, little enough to satisfy. To live on.
“My cup runneth over,” he said.
