The real differences between entps and intps

I'm statistically surrounded by HEAPS of *ntps. My dad's an intp, my great grandpa was an entp, my sister is an entp, my step nan is an entp, my brother in law is an intp, and I just generally attract those types as friends.

The differences I'm going to list here are real, practical, solid differences, not the generic, vague type the internet can give. Hopefully it helps someone, cos I wasted a lot of time figuring it out for myself 😂

First up

Entps and intps are around the 4% mark so pls rule out any mistypings - no type is stupid or unspecial, and it really helps to know your real type!

I know what I'm saying here is right, and I've spent over 2 years ruling out mistypings and annoying everyone, especially my intp father who got really offended when I thought he was an isfj for a day 😂

Type Resemblances

Entps and intps seem almost exactly the same when well developed. Pretty much EXACTLY the same.

A poorly developed entp looks like a really immature esfj - note they no longer seem intuitive. It's a sign they're looping ridiculously between Ne-Fe to the point where they can't seem to even access Ne.

A poorly developed intp looks like a really immature infj - note that they're still intuitive.

A depressed entp looks like a really mean istp. Note they no longer seem intuitive. They're looping between Ti-Si.

A depressed intp will have alternating bad istp, good infj moments. Entps don't have good infj moments unless they're in love basically.

Entps can seem like any type they want when developing tertiary Fe. That is, a terrible version of any type. Intps don't have this skill, nor do they care to. For this reason, entps can mistype as anything they feel like.

Intps almost always mistype as infjs, intjs when older, isfjs, or istjs. They never mistype as an Extravert, because they're so naturally people avoidant.

Key Similarities

Not actually that Extraverted

Both good at strategy

Both good at money

Both good at not telling you things

Both bad at actually lying

Both more emotional than they realise

Both change depending on who they hang out with. *ntps who don't have a high Fe friend they respect will end up more callous than they otherwise could.

Both are sneaky, crafty, and witty

Neither type is able to get themselves out of a bad mood. You must manage it or wait for it to pass.

Both are a little scared of people they actually like

Both are very playful and flirty

Key Differences

Entps get more Extraverted when truly connected to people

Intps never get Extraverted, but they can fake it for an hour or so

Happy entps talk non stop and have no filter.

Happy intps say weird stuff and are silly.

Sad entps are withdrawn sheeple with no spark.

Sad intps look like stereotypical sad infjs.

Grumpy entps are withdrawn, sullen, whiny and chaotic.

Grumpy intps are easily triggered, yell a lot, and say a lot more than normal.

Mad entps want to give the silent treatment, but fail cos you don't notice in 5 minutes. EXPLOSION.

Mad intps can give you the absolute silent treatment in a way that no one else notices they're not talking to you.

Intps are generally craftier. That is, they generally always have an adaptable plan.

Entps love arguing. If you accuse them of something they'll defend thsmelves, not realising it makes everyone 100 times madder and does the opposite of what they intended.

Intps hate conflict. If you accuse them of something they'll shut down.

Entps are more emotional. They cry more and get more upset when they hurt people - they can be an absolute roller-coaster when repressing Fe.

Intps are more even tempered. They almost never cry, unless someone died. They can be manipulative and disconnected when repressing Fe.

Entps are more up in the air. They don't always have a plan, but they might have a rough idea of where they want to end up.

Intps are more stressed by uncertainty in life. They like to know what's going to happen to them - have a secure job, income, etc.

Entps are more stressed by routine in life. They hate being locked into things and may have a melt down and run away if they feel stuck.

IMHO, entps are cute and soft on the inside, with the angry strong mask on the outside.

IMHO, intps are mesmerising, powerful, mystical creatures I mistake for myself.

Problems They Cause

Entps are annoying for fun. Some would say mean, which is definitely true sometimes. They have pointless arguments and enjoy your pain. But not too much pain...

If an entp actually upsets you when they didn't mean to they'll *eventually* apologise profusely. They might be defensive at first, but if their Fe DOES kick in cos you made your point, they'll be very upset.

Entps truly apologise with words. Not just actions. An action only apology is a 'pls shut up' apology.

Intps are also annoying for fun sometimes, but that's not their MO. They only do that to family.

Intps avoid apologising with words, and if they do, they'll say it once, very softly. Entps will say it 100 times until they're sure it's okay.

Intps are more likely to have a Si grip, where they run around complaining about weird small details and obsessively fix everything. Note the fixing, because that's the stage entps don't get to.

Entps can cause problems by insulting people or biting off their heads and not understanding why they upset the person.

Intps can cause problems because theu fear conflict and are too scared to stick up for themselves.

Entps have trouble remembering things. Not facts, but commitments and things about people, like how you like eggs cooked or something.

Intps can rewrite the past, but generally understand people quite well. Just not emotions.

Melt downs

Intp melt downs are mean. When an intp is stressed or upset they get pretty whiny and say mean things to upset people. This mood will last for a while, so if it's short lived you just have a normal entp on your hands.

Entp melt downs are insane. They literally look insane like a headless chicken or something. They run around in circles, they can't seem to focus on anything, they'll cry and organise random small details that don't actually fix the problem, and they'll probably go and get themselves locked into something if you don't chill them out quickly.

Relationships

Entps flirt less. Probably because their Fe is slightly higher so they can't do it as much before actually falling themselves 😂

Intps flirt shamelessly. In their way, not in like a normal way. This way is so subtle, with the eyes and the interest, and I'm not fully sure if they mean it. It could legit be their effort to use low Fe.

Basically, an entp flirting with you at least likes you as a friend. An intp flirting with you might not even like you.

When feeling lonely, an intp will seek for friends by talking to people they see everyday. They only want 1 person, so they're very selective.

When feeling lonely, an entp will join a club, or show up to more parties than usual. They want to find a family, to be accepted.

Both types think they fall in love easily, but an entp won't do anything unless it's legit. Intps can get led by Fe and ask any nice person out.

Entps commit faster. Probably because they understand their feelings more than the intp and aren't misled as easily.

Despite low Si, both commit in relationships quickly if they feel it's right. They secretly long for emotional connection and will jump in for it if they find it at all.

Entps like being physically close to people they're connecting with, and will lean forward, or touch if they're allowed

Intps want you to stay away. Hugs are for special occasions.

Talking

Entps love giving advice, they want to be helpful, needed, and valued. They can give some very strange advice.

Intps avoid giving advice. They want their independence, and they assume everyone feels the same. They don't want unsolicited advice, and neither do you!

Entps are much more blunt. They're more likely to let it slip that they don't like you, or you're mean.

Intps are much more theoretical. They won't let it slip they don't like you, they'd rather talk about something vaguely interesting like Marxism.

Entps like sharing their weird Ne vibes. They'll point out if they think you're lying, in love, or worried.

Intps prefer to accumulate their Ne vibes into secret knowledge they might be able to use against you one day...

A warmed up entp gets louder and faster as the talk. This is their happiest state and can last for hours, even days.

A very tired intp gets louder and faster as they talk. This is very short lived.

Happy, relaxed Entps will share their steam of consciousness. They'll cut themselves off and say weird stuff and then forget what they said.

Happy, relaxed intps will share their stream of consciousness highlights, I've never heard them talk half as much as a happy entp!

How to Love

Intps are most likely to show love by being there for you and giving surprise gifts. Intps avoid talking about how they feel, so if they tell you it means a lot.

Entps are most likely to show love by buying you random things - and I mean random, like, mainly food and POTENTIALLY useful crap TBH - talking non stop, and saying random nice things about you.

Also, entps will say they love you a million times and get upset if you don't say it back every time, so try to keep up.

Intps want to discuss theory and share their minds/souls with you. They'll always have a little part they can't pry open for you, but they want you to be aware of that and maybe even do it for them.

Entps want to be one with you. They want to give their soul, have yours, and be completely at ease with someone else. If they feel like you're that person you're probably in for a sudden headache tbh, cos they talk A LOT and LOUDLY.

Entps show love the way they want to receive it, except for the part where they talk over you, bite your head off, and argue with everything you say. Not those bits, that will actually really upset your entp. If you do it to show them how upsetting it is, make sure you point it out before they cry so you can smile and finally help their Fe see why everyone is upset with them...

No seriously, you have to be super careful what you say to your entp. Their brains interpret things weirdly, especially when younger. They're paranoid. For *nfjs, remember how insecure you were at like 12. That's your entp now.

Intps are similar to entps, but they appear more resilient. They're not. They don't handle anything as well as they appear to, be nice to them.

Basically, *ntps are kind of arrogant and egotistical, so don't let them lead you down the path of patting their ego. Tell them if they're mean or wrong, but reaffirm you love them.

The intp probably won't talk to you for a bit if you do the above, but they will eventually learn and grow 😊

The entp may cry and probably won't remember until the fifth time.

Finally

Intps actually talk about their emotions very intelligently when they want to, which is why they can sound like infjs.

Meanwhile, as much as they enjoy being therapised by infjs, entps don't have the knack of doing their own emotional analysis by themselves...

Love Victor (series)

oooh new format for this post let’s get into itttt.

Below are my reaction per episode. I will be writing them as i finish each so its more clear and fresh and all that jazz.

Let’s see if tumblr posts has a word count limit.

Note, the #glassthoughts tags is a reaction tag. Its never a review, or an intellectual essay about stuff I watch. I dont have the capacity to do all those.

Spoilers below so beware. Episode 1 is posted separately because I intend to make posts for the first and last epsiode only but that did not work out lol.

EPISODE 2

it took me a looong time to finish this episode. I kept on pausing it because something just feels so wrong about it. I didn’t know what it was when i was going through it, but when it finally ended it finally clicked.

The episode reminds me of the sentiment most homophobes use against gay people. “If you focus on the emotional part of the relationship, you will be happy with the opposite sex.” Growing up ive heard this phrase used against other people so much. Hearing it in my native language has always been a punch in the gut. 

And now this show who is supposed to be something happy and nice, is just having this kind of phrase of mentality just well up there.

I’m sure that its not Victor’s and that he is just exploring his sexuality. But the usual tinge of homophobia whenever he talks that he might be like Simon is honestly grating.

It’s definitely a me issue because other people seem to be enjoying the series immensely, but whenever Victor gets into that headspace, I just hear my child self crying myself to sleep because of internal homophobia.

Also i can see why people say  that for a show that is supposed be about Victor’s sexuality and growth, it does sure show a heck lot of heterosexuality of those who are around him.

Maybe in the future i will rewatch the series again with a more patient mind, but for now, expect me to skip a lot of scenes X_X

Episode 3

Okay the audacity of Victor saying “he tries” to be a good friend. Like dang okay chill with the lies. You’re already lying about your sexuality lmao.

Sorry im being very critical and bitter about this show, but i must persevere for the fanfics and fanarts i will gorge myself into later.

Mia and Victor would’ve been cute if only Victor doesn’t sound like he keeps on enforcing this compulsory heterosexuality he has in mind.  BUT hey he might be Bi people! 

I keep censoring myself because of how bitter and hateful i sound. My apologies for the phrases i forgot to delete above and beyond this line xD.

Anyways im over anything about Andrew. He can go fuck his egotistical self. If the series will show 

Hmm i wonder if the term “Comp Het” will even drop in this series.

Back to reaction,

Honestly Felix is just a lesbian in a man’s body at this point. Making his own shampoo? Like wow give me some of that kind of friend. 

The number of times I rolled my eyes at Andrew is ridiculous. 

Whilst typing this part it was more enforced in my mind that Love Victor is just a “supposedly gayer” Teen Wolf without the wolfing parts.

Lake is Lydia Felix is Stiles Andrew is a walmart Jackson Benji is basically a less grumpy Derek or Danny tbh Victor is Scott

I really hate this idea now.

The parents drama! Honestly, very unnecessary in my opinion. Victor is already dealing with a religious family, now he has to deal with a religious and broken family? Like dang they could’ve just chosen one struggle for him, now everyone will think his sexuality is a consequence for his parents’ sin or sth.

Maybe it’ll play into a bigger plot twist in the future?

Maybe Victor’s mom is cheating with Mia’s father? Seeing as how there was an unnecessary shot of her father with the back of a woman facing on the camera which is weird but okay. 

Im theorizing now X_X

Anyways have y’all seen how poor Felix was so nervous because his goddamn friend isn’t there to supposedly help him?

Sorry im hating on Victor too much but this scene reminds me of how awful Simon’s friends are and like bruuuh is Felix supposed to be the lead character?

He really is like Stiles who is supposed to be the lead for Teen Wolf in my opinion, he’s just a much better written character that Sc/tt

This series is just showing all the fear and pain i went through and am going through back when I was a teenager and til now. Without getting into any personal stuff, that last bs Victor’s father spewed just hit me so much.

I guess one of the reasons why its hard for me to watch Love Victor is because it shows me the teenager side of me way back when. Minus the girlfriend one because i never really persevered that much to tamper any likes for men. Internal homophobia really hit me back then tho xD

Episode 6

This episode is a mess and I hate it.

We saw yet again Victor literally using Felix’s ignorance and naivety to get himself out of a situation he put himself into. 

AND Felix even got the wrong idea or got fed with the wrong idea that the reason why Victor brought him along is to act as a buffer because he wasn’t ready to give up being a virgin or have sex in general. Yep that is definitely the reason, no other reason at all that involves making latte art with a known barista.

Lake and Felix kissed so there was that. I still am shipping Victor and Felix together despite Victor’s continuous bs with him being a good friend, but that’s just me.

And totally knew Andrew and Mia got a thing. If this blew up and hurt Lake im suing.

Lake and Felix are literally the two people keeping this show intact. Not gonna drop some political statement here no sir.

Again Benji needs to grow a personality out of this whole barista thing. One thing i am grateful for this show is that there was no family drama at all!

UGHHH MISS ME WITH THAT NORMAL TALK.

Ive been making a conscious effort to stop saying that heterosexuality is normal. That shit is hard to unlearn because its what ive always heard in my asian household for yeaaaaaaars. And now this twink is just gonna throw the term around like he has no issues with it. TO SIMON EVEN.

Like brooooooh. Im over my 2010 internal homophobia, no need to dig it all up again. Every episode.

Aww the dancing in different clothes is cute but,

FUCKING VICTOR LIED JUST FOR WHAT?

Homeboy be doing the most to keep his fucking sexuality from bursting out, with his foot both planted firmly inside the closer AND THEN THE NEXT SECOND would end up as if he is ready to risk it all just to see Benji naked.

I AM FUCKING livid, confused, and just intense emotion everywhere.

Ive seen a couple of dumbo scenes from other shows that got the “closeted” man be doing literally the most obvious shit that could make anyone catch them, BUT THIS, with how VEHEMENT Victor is against being “NOT NORMAL” AND THEN LIE JUST TO STAY IN A MOTEL WITH THE GLORIFIED HOT GUY, takes the goddamn cake.

The fucking hypocrisy man. Ive battled internal homophobia before, AND ACKNOWLEDGE THAT WE ALL DEAL WITH IT DIFFERENTLY but holy fucksticks. I’m not this evil.

The thing is, there is so much a person could do that you could go “ah its because they are in the closet and is afraid to come out” before it goes to the territory of “fucking hell, this is not just about his sexuality, this is just him now doing stuff consciously to take advantage of his supposed fear”. The girlfriend thing is even waaay over the top, but we all went with it because he’s supposed to be figuring things out. BUT most of the time, he literally could not even imagine going beyond the line HE CREATED for their relationship. AND YOU’RE TELLING ME THAT HE WILL LIE JUST TO SPEND THE NIGHT WITH A GUY? Now he wants to test the male side of his sexuality? BECAUSE PORN DOESN’T EXIST?  BECAUSE LOOKING AT MALE UNDERWEAR MODELS IN THE UNDERWEAR SECTION IS NOT ENOUGH? HE NEEDS IT TO BE ACTUALLY PHYSICAL TO CONFIRM SOMETHING?

Im ahead too much, real time the scene im in the episode is still them about to leave the shop but holy fucking hell. If this lie ended up becoming something more in this same episode, expect more capslock because jfc.

And people will still claim he’s somewhat attracted to the other gender.

Also i was very very worried that Pilar and Felix will be a thing BUT THANK GOD THAT DIDN’T BECOME A THING. Still unsure whether i like Lake and Felix together, but i love them individually.

I cant really comment on any of the parents drama because to be honest i skip them whenever its just her and him.

These two fuckers lie to one another. BECAUSE OF WHAT? THEY WANT TO FUCKIN STICK THEIR TONGUES INTO ONE ANOTHERS MOUTH? IS THIS REALLY WHERE THIS SHOW IS GOING? AND THEY ALMOST CENSORED IT BECAUSE ITS GAY? NOT THE OTHER HORRIBLE STUFF THAT IS HAPPENING?

Okay i get people saying that Simon is irresponsible for making Victor like put his family on the back burner for a bit etc etc. Also the reaction against Benji getting mad when Victor wanted them to stop being gay while in their house, is reasonable. Victor did calmly told Benji and his beau that his family is stretched thin etc etc. I get that. I get that sometimes hiding your sexuality for other people is what is necessary.

BUT  fucking please recognize how damaging that is to the person you are talking to. Even if you think Victor is in the 100% right about this, AT THE VERY LEAST acknowledge why Benji is mad. Sure he could’ve just left with his boyfriend instead of just staying there. And sure Victor pulled through in the end and put that dusty grandpa motherfucker to his place, but that’ll fucking sting okay.

Also i might be saying all this in a place where I’m not really that close to ANY of my relatives, so ya know, call me ignorant or ungrateful whatever.

Okay uhh Mia and Andrew is still a thing APPARENTLY.

You know what makes me happy in this episode? Keiynan’s attitude bleeding out to Bram’s character. I love it!

Episode 9

Benji distancing himself because he wants to make his 1 year relationship work? Good guy! Him not saying to his boyfriend about the coworker of his kissing him? Bad move.

Sure we can all talk about how little stuff doesn’t need to be told to your lover if you’re sure its not gonna happen again. The thing is,  communication is key. Y’all will talk about communication being integral in a relationship but keep shit like this in the DL because yOU’RE JUST THAT SURE IT AINT GONNA HAPPEN AGAIN? Fo real?

Also Benji is feeling guilty for a reason.

Vincent is very in the wrong for kissing a taken man just because said taken man is comfortable with him or showed vulnerability. Victor is in the wrong 100% and I’ll never forget that.

Felix and that hug with Victor is adorableeee. Love that coming out scene. Again raising my eyebrows at those who say Victor is Bi.

Felix showing what’s in his apartment is fucking great. No wonder we don’t see his mom or anything. They say that the saddest people are always the one who will do their best to keep everyone happy. Felix is being peppy, have these random phrases he use to just amuse people makes sense.

In this household, we protect Felix no matter what. HOPEFULLY next season we get to fucking know his surname or sth.

Again nothing new with the drama surrounding the parents. I hate them and honestly i am so annoyed by the father’s face and everything. (still have that hatred from One day at  time but we don’t talk about that here)

The letter is stupid and i wonder what Pilar will do about it. Are we gonna get a To All the boys i loved before thing?

OH Felix giving Lake an ultimatum. Wow what a move honestly. On one hand Felix has the right to protect himself. He wants to be free with who he loves, and keeping it a secret stopped being amusing because he knew what it feels like to hide a part of yourself.

Lake’s confidence has been obviously shot and damaged by her mother. Not saying that justifies what she is doing  BUT it came from somewhere. A night with Felix talking to her about his life IS NOT going to just uproot all those thoughts from her mind. As much as i love Felix, he is not a solution.

hmm what else. The father can go die for all i care. Lmao.

The shot was too much on Victor. There was no sound cue from the family etc etc.  I hate the ending so much. Love Victor could’ve been so much more. Could’ve pioneered a fresh way to show lgbt stories and how coming out is this and that. Even if the show is for Gen Z and this generation, coming out should reflect to how coming out is generally perceived nowadays. But i guess that was too much. Foolish me for having my expectations waay too high.

She tries to eat healthy and make sure Kerchak eats healthy, so they don’t really keep a ton of sweets in the house, but Kala has a huge sweet tooth. Drinks — She tries to drink water, she really does. And most of the time she succeeds, but she also may have a bit of a coffee problem. Not just a regular coffee either. No, she likes lattes and macchiatos. Anything that is sweet, black coffee is way too bitter, but mix in some sugar and cream and it’s the best thing ever. Kala’s peak grumpiness is before she’s had coffee. Animals — Obsessed with gorillas. Probably cried when Koko died. She just finds them so amazingly human and empathetic. Neighborhood — Tortuga Place Children — lol Relationship with Family — Very close with all her family. Car — IDK they probably have one, don’t ask me what it is. Sometimes it freaks me out how similar Claire Novak’s story is to Dean’s D:

It’s funny, I have just started the 10x09 rewatch I need to do before Wayward Sisters, but I watched it the other day with my mum too just because, and I have been thinking about this a lot. 

my desktop has literally been stuck on this all day while I have a migraine at all the things I wanted to do :P

They give her SO many superficial traits to him - the whole connection to Cas told through familiar lines like about her praying to him every night, or the ketchup conversation, and Cas comparing them directly in 10x10 about both being… gosh what was the phrase? I’ll have to look that up… “one extremely messed up human to another”… I’ve been trying to think about Claire in the bigger picture, and she’s a massive Dean mirror, but her story is different and I actually kinda like what it all built up to really.

She loses her family when she’s much older than Dean - 12 to his 4 - and she doesn’t have a sibling so she has to go it completely alone. She knows the supernatural exists but only angels and demons - she doesn’t really have experience with monsters, just the mytharc, and she’s been *possessed by an angel* so they’re unequivocally real to her. She grows up praying directly to Cas while Dean has had no faith since Mary died. 

Ironically Claire is bound to Cas under the exact same “angels are watching over you” link as Dean, Sam and Jack all share with Cas, but it’s the most fucked up iteration (with Sam somehow passing with flying colours as the LEAST fucked up one in this weird umbrella of humans in Cas’s charge :P) because Cas made a bad promise at the very very beginning of his story - so early on they had to make the episode to go back to it because it was only by late season 4 Cas was officially full time main character enough to warrant a more complicated backstory and knowing how his ~existence~ in a form we could understand anyway began and all. 

Claire has been utterly betrayed by Cas, and he’s her Azazel in a way - another mirror to Dean that a supernatural creature stormed in and destroyed her family. Took her father and killed him, and her mother broke and went on the road and became the Worst Parent and physically AND emotionally abandoned her. But Claire doesn’t kill Cas (because he’s not evil and wants to make amends), and she actually manages to forgive and accept his help, and he helps her resolve her family situation and put her on her new path - the end of 10x20 for Claire is what 2x22 was for Dean, but instead of having killed the thing that destroyed her family, she’s hugged it goodbye and kept the grumpy cat plushie it gave her.

And Dean’s the one who sets her on her path. Because Cas represents the big old mytharc stuff and the damage to her family - he has to reconcile personally. But she grew up in the foster system having human problems and the supernatural was maybe the CAUSE of it all but she was just raw frustrated anger when we first see her again, and she has no way “in” to deal with it… 

(And she should not have started hunting as a 12 year old, with no one overseeing her or anything - I was talking to Mittens about it a while back and yeah tbh if they brought her back as a hunter like a lot of the original spec/desires were, that she’s started hunting angels in the gap while she wasn’t on the show, she was too YOUNG and really around the age the show brought her back is really the start of when she would be old enough for them to justify her doing ANYTHING on her own. She COULD have found a Krissy set up - an older hunter to guide her and others to hunt with, to give her a closer backstory to Dean, but the separation from their world was important to start with, I think, that she had plot reasons from 4x20 why she would have started hunting run of the mill monsters and she was too young, so unless she and Amelia became a power duo of mother and daughter hunters… Yeah :P Not many ways to bring her in except either stuff happening TO her to bring her back or Cas wandering in to catch up on her…) 

But yeah Sam also just helps her in the sense of teaching her credit card fraud and his birthday present coming of age gesture to her was a credit card - independence and still not really HUNTING skills, just “you’re a scrappy youngster who needs help surviving in this world” stuff.

It’s Dean who shows her what it’s like to be a hunter, and how it all works, that you do your homework, and sets her up with the question of do you watch movies I rec you or do you hunt monsters like I do? He is the one who sets her up with the choice to continue being normal and to use her resolution of the family arc as a way to finish her involvement with the supernatural and move on and grow up into whoever she might be, or as just the first step before she starts venting her anger and frustration with the world to kill monsters and save people before they end up a messed up human like her. 

And in 11x12 Jody is sort of that guide as well - her place is to encourage Claire towards a normal life but she also has to deal with Claire wanting to be a hunter and in the end agrees to at least teach her “not to hunt like a dumbass” since she sees Claire is really set on doing this - and in that moment also that she now has a new family to defend and it’s less revenge and more helping people. And since she squared up what could have been a revenge arc she’s all “saving people, hunting things” like Dean represents. 

I think for Claire, Jody is like Bobby - the more experienced, kind hunter who steps into her life to fill an emotional gap her dead/abandoning (and then dead also) parents left. It’s similar to Dean in really broad strokes, but Jody has full responsibility of her and it’s Claire’s choice to leave or make use of Jody’s help, while I think Dean was happy for Bobby’s attention as a kid because in the 7x10 flashbacks we see how good Bobby was to him and we know what Dean’s like, and as adults he’s happy to depend on Bobby all the time and they pretty much end up living at his house from season 5-6 - it seems to be official by at least the midseason of season 6 that Sam and Dean are permanently based there although no one ever says anything about it. They drift TO Bobby and the narrative has to burn it all down to get them out of the house but Claire’s coming to Jody later in life and Jody’s attempts to guide her towards normality and away from monsters mean that she actually represents the opposite of what Bobby generally offered… In 7x10 yeah Bobby one time throws a ball around with Dean because John just wants him to learn to shoot all the time, but taking it as the transition in season 3 to Bobby being a permanent fixture in their lives and giving them the family don’t end in blood speech in 3x16 as the parallel to Claire beating her version of season 1 & 2 in season 10 and moving on to season 3 emotionally, we see Dean (and Sam) latching onto Bobby as the last time we see John passes and he’s now the sole parental figure they have. 

And that leads us to Claire wanting to be a hunter because of admiring what Dean and Jody do. And wanting to save people because she clearly feels strongly about monsters and her own frustration before she had a path, that hunting monsters is a clear *righteous* moral path, is not actually something that Dean was allowed to come to naturally. He was raised as a hunter, and he doesn’t get to choose it as an adult.

No, wait, it’s Sunday night I’m allowed to mention it again because it’s basically next week… I won’t quote the whole massive speech though :P Okay, so Dean never gets a choice to be a hunter when he’s growing up but it’s a lifestyle he was completely raised in. When he CHOOSES to be a hunter is in 2x20 after spending the ENTIRE season resenting John and the job and the burden that was put on him, and it’s uuuutterly depressing but he realises in the djinn dream after spending an entire season wrestling with wanting to just give up and stop hunting and leave the whole thing behind because he’s so tired of it all, that no one else will do it and so he has to - and he hates it but those lives are on him. I actually compared it more to Patience’s decision to leave in 13x09 because she would have the visions whether she became a hunter or not, but staying with her dad pretending to be normal would be like Dean being trapped in the wishverse djinn dream, knowing he had wished himself a happy ending but everyone was dying because he wasn’t out saving them. He had news articles of the deaths, Patience has her visions.

But Claire just sees something she really wants to do - to save people and kill monsters and rid the world of evil, and she makes it as a choice as an adult as her coming of age, based on her experiences of the world, and she has an unburdened FREEDOM to decide to do that, to feel like it is something that is in her nature and the idea of doing it is too compelling to sit quietly and do normal things with her life. Every time she has the choice to do normal things - to enrol in colleges and schools and get on with her life as Jody was hoping for her, she takes cases and hunts things and gets deeper and deeper into learning the job she actually WANTS and possibly NEEDS to do. 

I really love this about Claire - that because we got her innocent of monsters to start with, and that she had multiple chances to get off the ride, she chooses to hunt anyway and there’s low angst about it - she doesn’t have decisions the weight of which Dean did in all those instances, because her life or death revenge story is already wrapped up, peacefully. She just ends up on the road hunting monsters because after seeing this is a life people lead, and despite seeing the toll it’s taken on Dean, she still ends up emulating him. But as the next generation of hunters, who aren’t raised into it against their will, or out of necessity to learn everything about evil forces to hunt down anything in particular. She already dealt with Cas AND saved her mom, AND killed the angel that was responsible for that, and so she’s got an angsty backstory, but that’s not the thing that’s compelling her forwards… There’s no revenge and sacrifice cycle like the Winchesters are in. 

It’s similar to Jody, and the others - they all find out the supernatural exists but of all the Wayward Sisters, Kaia is the only one with UNRESOLVED main arc angst and probably a whooole bunch of misery tied to the Bad Place that they need to help her with/she needs to overcome as her personal arc. All the others have dealt with the stuff that makes up their backstory/introduction to the supernatural in their initial episodes, and are pretty much ready for a fresh start when their story begins :D

- Making fun of each other’s middle names.

-  “Orion?!” You, Remus and James say in unison.

-  “Yes, that’s my middle name,” Sirius grits out through his teeth.

-  “ORION?!” The three of you repeat, a little louder this time, before bursting into laughter and falling over each other on the couch. 

- “Yes. You’ve known my middle name for years, I don’t know why you all are finding it so funny all of a sudden. It’s a Black tradition to name the son after the father in some manner. Bullshit, really.” Sirius replies rather coolly, although you can all see the vain on the side of his head peeking out. 

-  Remus, James and you burst out into a fresh wave of laughter, you resting your head on Remus’s shoulder, James flopped out and flailing on your laps.

- “Y-yeah, well, James’ middle name is Fleamont!” Sirius sputters.The three of you jump up at once, James falling to the floor as you and Remus shout “FLEAMONT?!” in unison before roaring with another round of laugher (Sirius joins in because it’s a funny name and James just fell flat on his ass).

- “Well, the Blacks aren’t the only ones to do the whole ‘name the son after the father’ type thing, you assholes! It’s not my fault!” James lobs up from his position in the floor (he seems determined not to move until the focus is moved from him). 

- You’ve resumed your spot leaning against Remus, both of you shaking with laughter,  as Sirius is still by the kitchen counter across the room, doubled over and barking his own laugh. 

- (James realizes it might be a while until he gets up if he sticks to his earlier sentiments, so he tries directing the attention away from himself.) “Hey, Remus’ middle name is funny, too!” 

- “John,” you start, but are interrupted with a fresh wave of giggles. “John,” you start again, “Is not a funny middle name.” 

-“She’s right, mate,” Sirius adds.

- “Really, James?” Remus replies.

- “O-Okay, but Y/M/N is funny, too!” James tries. (It’s more of a last-ditch effort than he’d care to admit, but his pride is on the line.

- “No, it’s not. It’s cute is what it is,” Remus answers, before turning to look at you, “Just like the person!” He boops you on the nose and you’re left blushing and still fighting the giggles, while Remus smiles at you. 

-“Yeah, it really is cute—AWWWW LOOK AT THAT, PRONGS! THEY’RE SO CUUUUTE!” Sirius starts, before seeing you and Remus smiling at each other in the couch. 

- You and Remus are left blushing even harder at Sirius’ words. He’s always telling you two how cute you are. (You both think it’s because he likes seeing the two of you blush).

- “Yeah, whatever.” James grumbles, hoisting himself up from the floor. (Okay, you two are really cute, but he refuses to admit that now after you all so ruthlessly wounded his pride).

- James starts to stomp off as the remainder of you share a look and Sirius grabs him. “But Prongsy, look! Aren’t they adorable?!” 

- You and Remus turn to each other and try to be as obnoxious as possible, batting your eyes, giving goofy grins, and lots of little touches. 

- “See? So cute!” Sirius coos as he restrains a struggling James.

- “Fine, YES, cute! Can I go now?” James bites out. 

- “I think not.” Sirius replies, before springing into action. 

- “Pads, no-what-I-STOP!” Yells a very distraught James as Sirius carries him over and tosses him in between you and Remus on the couch, where you each grab an arm and start kissing his face, neck, arms, anywhere you can reach while Sirius climbs onto his lap and joins in.

- It doesn’t seem to be enough, so Sirius gives you each a look and you start attacking James with tickles (he’s very ticklish and it’s a dangerous game if he’s not restrained).

- “FINE, FINE, MERCY, UNCLE, I GIVE, STOOOOOP!!” James cries through his laugher, “I GIVE!” 

- “Will you stop being grumpy?” You ask. 

- “YES!” James shouts. 

- “Will you admit names don’t matter?” Remus replies.

- “FINE!” James cries. 

- “Will you admit your middle name is worse than mine?” Sirius cheekily asks.

- “NEVER!” James shouts 

- “SIRIUS!” You and Remus shout, “NO!”

-But before you can stop them, James takes advantage of your loosened grip and tackles Sirius to the floor,  and the two engage in a tickle fight, rolling around and knocking a great many of things over. 

- “This is bad,” You say. 

- “Yeah,” Remus replies, “Too bad it’s all your fault,” he says with a michevious glint in his eyes.

- “Oh, no you don’t! You’re the one who brought it up!” You cry as you leap and pin him to the couch, starting in with tickles of your own. 

- “Please, you’re the one who always wants to know the meaning of names! It’s your fault!” Remus manages through a fit if giggles before flipping your positions, pinning you to the couch and tickling you. 

- The evening ends with the four if you breathless, disheveled, and the living room in ruins.

- “Dinner?” You ask. 

- James grins (oh no). “Last one to the kitchen has to clean up!” He shouts before running off, shoving Sirius in the process.

- Remus is a little shit and I’m living for it tbh

- He’d be like “Can I help, you honey?” In the most sticky sweet voice ever and then ruffle your hair and boop your nose and give you little kisses just to annoy the others (esp James)

- (not that he doesn’t love you or show affection, it’s just so much fun to play it up and be as sappy as possible) 

-(you and Sirius often join in because when you’re not pranking together, you’re trying to annoy each other, and that’s love)

- Marauders + relaxing: 

- Sirius:You’re the only one Sirius lets touch his hair. If he’s upset, or just needs to relax, he’ll find you and wait until you see him, then lay with his head in your lap. You’ll talk about anything and nothing at all as you run your fingers through his hair and eventually feel the tension slip from his body. As he drifts off to sleep, he grabs your hand and kisses your wrist, murmuring a “Thanks, Darling. Love you.” 

- James:When James is stressed, you can usually find him working with his hands. Tinkering with things, trying to put them back together; Anything to keep his hands (and by proxy mind) busy. You’ll stumble upon him at 3 am with the toaster in shambles, and ask what’s wrong. As he continues to work, he’ll fill you in on what’s been bothering him, and by the end, the toaster is back together and so is your boyfriend. - Remus:When Remus is stressed, you’ll find him as you usually do: reading. The only indication that anything is wrong is the way he turns the pages. Gone are the soft, gentle strokes that usually take him further into a book; in their place are rushed, frantic flips that show he’s just barely holding on. You can see the tension in his hands and jaw. Those times, you sit by him, gently remove the book (taking care to mark his place), and pull him to you, quietly coaxing him to open up (“What’s wrong, Love?”). He’ll tell you about whatever is bothering him while you rest his head on your shoulder (and rub soothing strokes through his hair), while you patiently listen and offer suggestions. Once he feels better, he rises up, kisses your forehead, and thanks you (“You really are the best. Love you, Sweetheart.”) and picks up where he left off in his book (he grabs your hand without looking up as you make to leave with a small smile on his face - you pick up your own book and sit and read with him).

 You:(Sirius): When you’re stressed, he finds you. You never know how he does it, but he always finds you when you’re about to go over the brink. He’ll pull you away from whatever you’re doing, put your head on his chest, and hold you while patting your head (“Hush, Love. It’s alright. I’m here. I’ve got you. Tell me what’s wrong.”) He’ll hold you until he can’t anymore (because he’s made you laugh so hard you can’t hold still). (“Better?”/*Wiping tears as a stray giggle escapes* “Yeah. Thanks, Pads.”/“Anytime, Love.” *Pecks your lips*) 

- (James): James is not the best at reading emotions (unless they’re extreme; that boy is painfully oblivious), so it takes him a while to figure out you’re upset. He tries to be there for you, even if he doesn’t understand why you’re upset. He’ll find you sitting on the couch, staring into space, and sit down next to you, putting his arm over your shoulder and resting his head on yours. (“Wanna talk about it?”/“No, not really.”/“I’ll be here when you do.” *He kisses your temple*/*Sniffling* “Thanks. I love you, Prongs.”/“I know. Ouch!”/*Playful hit to his shoulder* “Arse”.) 

- (Remus): This smooth motherfucker reads emotions like the Daily Prophet. He knows you’re upset before you do sometimes. He’ll sit down next to you and ask you what the matter is (“What’s wrong, Love?”/“Nothing. Why?”/“You just seemed upset about that letter is all. Want to talk about it?”/“But I wasn’t…oh. Yes, I would. First of all…”) and talk it over with you, holding your hand and running soothing circles into it all the while. He’ll pull you to him, putting your head on his shoulder, (“It’s alright, Love. Let it out.”) and wipe any stray tears with his thumbs before placing kisses in their wake. (“It’ll be okay, Dear. Not to worry. I’m here. I’ll take care of you.”/*Stray sniffle* “Thank you, Moony.”/“Not a problem. I’ll always take care of you, Love. Always.”)

- It doesn’t matter where you are or what you’re doing if one of your boys needs comforting, everything gets droppded until they’re feeling better.

- If one of you or all of you are sick, it’s a cuddle pile.

- Usually Remus gets every sickness going around, especially in winter, because of his furry little problem, so you, Prongs and Pads do everything you can to make him feel better.

- This involves chocolate, blankets, cuddles, books, and a pouty Remus who won’t let you kiss him because he doesn’t want anyone to get sick.

- None of you listen so really, you all end up sick.

- Someone like Lily or Alice would end up coming over to take care of you all. 

- Remus was the first to get sick so he’s the first to get better, looking exhausted and already with a few grey hairs at the age of 20, and he helps the girls look after you all.

- When the three of you are  better, you thank him with cuddles and anything else he wants, namely chocolate and books.

- When he tells you that he just wants those things, James rolls his eyes with a fond, “Nothing ever changes, does it?”

- You all ignore the looming threat of war hanging above your heads.

- James reads the Daily Prophet every morning, looking more tired than he did the day before, his glasses slumped halfway down his nose and his hair messier than usual from how often his fingers have ran through it from stress.

- Sirius’ beautiful eyes are now shadowed by bags so heavy under his exhaustion that they have bags, too.

- Remus’ clothes hang off him mrore than they ever have before, unable to eat under the stress or war, and still you try to hold everything all together.

- You are the glue of the Marauders now.

- Peter had gone missing months before, straight after graduating from Seveventh year, and there were rumours that he’d gone on to be a Death Eater

- The gap he left in the group made you wonder just what had happened to make sweet Peter Pettigrew go on to be a Death Eater.

- You end up in cuddle piles each night now, one or more of you crying from worry, stress, exhaustion, and the others trying to soothe the affected person and themselves.

- It doesn’t always work.

- Arguments happen more and more now, each of you lashing out and projecting your inner turmoils onto those you love.

- Remus is affected the most as he’s able to pick up on more than the others do because of his lycanthropy.

- But soon, the war is over and done with, and the four of you find yourselves in a group hug, bloodied, covered in mud, clothes tattered and torn, but alive and well.

- Voldemort has been vanquished and the Wizarding World can be at peace again.

Neurological Conditions: /tw PTSD/ For a few years after the death of his wife and two of his children, Marlin was being treated for post-traumatic stress disorder, but as Nemo got older he didn’t keep up with therapy appointments as well as before and eventually stopped going. He also worried about Nemo not trusting him because of this and never told him. For many years, Marlin could mostly cope with his mental health difficulties through things he had learned and trying out different strategies he found in books, but he is under more stress now due to Nemo’s reappearance and may require more help now if he experiences a partial or full relapse.

Sleeping Habits: Tries to sleep eight hours a night, but sleeps as little as 3-4 when extremely stressed.
