I THOUGHT THIS PART FROM VNC CHAPTER 62 LOOKED FAMILIAR
i mean they're not. the exact same but they are very similar to each other!!
Also this could just be me but I feel like that these two have a lot of parallels. Break's family are the Rainsworths, who are not his biological family. Johann's family is Dante and Riche, who also not his biological family.
When someone they care about dies/gets threaten their first instinct is murder. When the Sinclairs died Break killed 116 people to bring them back, and when he thought Reim had been permanently dead he killed Fang. When Vanitas had threaten to kill Dante, Johann told him that he'll kill him if he meddles with his family.
Another thing they have in common is that there both, how do I put this, angry in some way/some point in their life? Break had been bitter and depress after returning from the Abyss but then learned to smile again because of Shelly. Johann... Okay, I can't say much about Johann because not much has been revealed about him yet BUT he definitely is sketchy!! With how the Dhampirs are treated it wouldn't be far off to say he would be angry at the world/society. He also has been shown to not like Noé much. Johann has also been shown to be very protective of Dante and Riche, so it's possible that he could've been similar to how Break had acted in the past, and now has something to live for and would do ANYTHING to protect it.
Another thing I'm just now realizing and probably should've brought up first but they have similar vibes/atmospheres. Though Johann is more flirtatious and Break is more... Weird. I guess. Eccentric, if you want a fancy word. They're also have this whole... How do I explain it? They're good at observing/analyzing things is I guess the best way to explain it?
I think I'm gonna stop there, there was something else I kind of wanted to talk about but I think it was a little bit of a stench fkdjgfjdf. I could be wrong about some of these, I didn't mean to write this much so basically all of it I wrote on a whim. Whatever my brain thought of I wrote down which resulted in this (which reading over it might be noticeable considering this post is kinda a mess kgjkfjgjfj). There's also the fact that some of the Johann stuff was just speculation, which could 100% be wrong. But I do think some of it I'm right about!!

About VNC manga chapter 62 part 2 official preview
written before reading the full chapter!
(more under the cut)
.
MJ-sensei is indeed bringing everyone back in this new arc XDDD
Louis was really the last character I could ever imagine to actually see again, much less that many panels XD and in Dham context :OO
So...in this moment, it's not that Noe never ever heard of Dham, huh?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He did read a book about a dhampir, be it fiction or not...
Wait...who wrote so positively (or rather, normally) about Dham...in such a biased world that is so cruel and violent to Dham...?? To the point that Noe still had absolutely no idea about the whole racism and related sufferings...??? :OOO Plot twist: Shapeless One is the writer lol Seriously, Shapeless One at least didn't mind the book about a cool dhampir at all - unlike the hatred against Ruthven XDDD
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Noe didn't really lie here, cuz he sure had never seen an actual living dhampir XDD I mean, officially with full recognition, idk XD

No but I’m so happy mochijun is writing the queer manga she wants. Because there’s a bunch in Pandora Hearts you can tell she was eager but wasn’t allowed to do. And here she can have several canonically queer important characters.
That’s not even touching the subtext.
Like these aren’t background characters. This isn’t a one and done thing. Luna is one of the most important figures in the story. This is another Archiviste which is already a big deal, now quite possibly sapphic now. Johann and I consider the dhams part of the main cast. If you want you could see Teacher genderfluid and Domi is heavily implied to be bi. I don’t give a damn if vanoé don’t kiss on-screen, queerness is entwined with this manga and no one can convince me otherwise.

Noda from twitter said that Johann is the Judas of VnC and sent me down a spiral. Because one of Jesus’ missions was to convert sinners and spread the good news. You can interpret that as Vanitas’ whole healing curse-bearers thing. Assume then that Vanitas is Jesus. Bear with me pls. We can also assume Johann spider reveal will be the first turning point before everything goes to shit. Tipping the chain of events that’ll lead to Vanitas dying. What I mean by this is Judas betrays the squad. What’s funny is that Monsieur Spider is working with Ruthven and the extremist chasseurs aka the Church. Now, Judas betrayed Jesus mainly for greed. And it’s possible Johann, if spider, is being paid by Ruthven.
Btw when Judas goes to betray Jesus it’s described as “Satan entered him”. This could like the times we’ve seen Johann’s mask slip and he shows his crueler side. But it’s also a large belief that Judas was trying to scam the chief priests and get back at the Roman government. Judas very much believed in the coming of a mighty Messiah to free them from the Romans but Jesus was being too weak. He thought Jesus needed a little push in the right direction. So he betrayed him, expecting Jesus to perform a miracle and disappear like he always does. That didn’t happen and Jesus got condemned to death. Some ppl think that’s why he returned the 30 pieces of silver. This isn’t explicitly stated in the bible but simply popular theories people have.
Because this wasn’t the plan. Johann could be doing all this to get back at a society who’ve shunned dhams, his family. Initially I said Dante is Jesus but that’s saying he’s betraying Dante. Which I don’t think that’s the case but Dante will get wrapped up into it. So I guess you could still make an argument. He could kiss Dante as an apology , I could see him blowing a kiss at Vanitas to be a bitch. He’s made it very clear he isn’t a fan of him. But now it’s...what comes next?
Because Judas commits sui@ide. I don’t think it’s beyond Mochijun to write smth like that. If Dante or Richie or both die because of his involvement in all this, it’s not impossible. In PH, Alice did technically off herself to protect Oz and Alyss. And we did come back from hiatus to a flashback of Astolfo attempting so I cannot say it’s beyond her. Finally the traitors’ names begin with a J. Imma leave it at that.

So here’s some stuff we need to sit on. Firstly, Lady Archiviste is likely Teacher’s former pupil. I’m assuming it was during the time Faustina was alive and Teacher was her right hand man. Could explain that look she gave Noé as in “oh…my replacement.”
Now, how many people know? Because this is a big deal and I don’t think someone like Ruthven knows. Does Antoine know? Veronica? If she knows, that’s also pretty wild bc Lady might’ve told her. Speaking of which, I am so curious about their relationship. Are they in kahoots? Is this just a fling, friends with benefits? Are they fucking dating? I wanna know how genuine their relationship is. Bc if Veronica is lowkey in love with her that’s major given her character. Idk maybe it’ll make her open her heart a little.

My prediction of VNC manga next chapter 62
depressing OTL
racism mention
(more under the cut)
.
I think things will go like:
Dante explains (or yells) the whole racism stuff to Noe in anger.
With all that, Noe finally properly understands what's been going on in front of him and towards Dhams.
At the same time, Noe recalls some (bad) memories from the past; when he was a kidnapped kid in the black market, treated like a mere object, if not less, having no right / freedom / power.
Dante possibly throws some words like "There's no way you(Noe) would get any of my / our pain, much less you've experienced a thing yourself!!". Which pokes Noe as well.
The office is still messy. Count Orlok trio is being racists again.
Noe flips.
Noe activates his vampire mode (which unfortunately pokes Dhams' feeling of inferiority).
Noe gets super mad and violent at Count Orlok trio. He kicks something again but worse. Or he grabs Orlok by the collar. Or punches someone's face for real. Or who knows how much.
Everyone else is frozen, dumbfounded, and embarrassed.
Noe strongly reacts against the unfair treatments in rage, calling them out so hard. He seriously demands Count Orlok trio to apologize to Dhams. He low-key or outright threatens them to do so.
Count Orlok possibly ends up briefly saying sorry to Dhams (he cannot casually do bad to Noe, who is deeply connected to Shapeless One). Or Domi quickly drags Noe out of the office (possibly even using her power to shut him up). Or someone interferes (ex. Amelia enters the room).
Dante and Johann get very embarrassed and newly angry at Noe and the whole-new mess he caused. They immediately understand Noe made things super difficult and much worse for them three Dhams, possibly losing all the jobs from Count Orlok (and getting banned from the hotel entirely) from now on, which have been important and necessary to make a living.
Dante possibly punches Noe's face, and Domi punches Dante's face back, and Johann is about to lose himself and punch Domi, but Vani protects her.
Dante even verbally and officially breaks up with not only Noe but also Vanitas, who originally started the entire mess. Johann side-eyes Noe/Vani, too.
Riche, however, is actually quite happy that Noe actively stood up for Dham so hard like that. Noe is the first vampire who sincerely cared about Dham and their right. She knows her life is likely to get (even more) terrible, but even so, she deeply appreciates Noe's rage and starts to fall in love with him.
.
Noe had good intentions with sincerity, but the racism and people cannot change easily, and the relationship with Dante is almost completely destroyed. Even Vani lost his important informant Dante now.
.
I'd love to be totally wrong!!! :'))))) OTL

My quick ramblings about VNC manga chapter 62 part 1
(more under the cut)
.
Time flied again, and now ch 62 part 2 is coming or already out XD so I'm roughly writing some bits at least asdfg
.
.
I wrote some depressing prediction for this chapter, and I'm glad things didn't go that (physically violent) way, especially for Noe :) Vani stood up (as he should, cuz he is part of the cause) and "solved" the problem...by being verbally violent asdfg Anyway, I still feel something similar to that might happen at some point, though ^^;
I'm anxious about Johann for several reasons, but for now...I feel so sorry for him that he had to perform that much to "smoothly" solve(TM) the uncomfortable situation and protect his family ;_; I just...don't know what (proper words) to say, and I hate it :(
I'm happy to be quite right about Riche X) It's a huuuge shame that the anime completely cut out her cute interaction with Noe in the Catacombs :/ It wouldn't have taken too many minutes ://
.
a little or a lot negative from here, with some potentially triggering words
.
Apparently...some people think it's a bad / problematic writing decision that "white" Vani enlightens "black" Noe about "racism" towards Dham...as if the narrative / context was meant to mock Noe or such?? Also, as if similar situations (not just about racism) never happen in real life?? Honestly, they seem to be the ones who are somehow obsessed with the skin color tone of fictional characters the most lol
Like...did Vani have to leave Noe ignorant as he was, then? Was there any other "better" person (ex. "black" Dham) to explain "better" at the moment?? It doesn't even look like what Vani said was particularly wrong, either - especially compared to the situation when Luca "explained" to Vani/Noe what the Book of Vanitas does(TM), and then Vani got annoyed and tried to fix his (Luca's) wrong idea/info (not to mention Blue Moon clan is a discriminated minority as well).
For some imaginary example in regards to real life - it's said 99% of people are allosexual and only 1% are asexual in the world. It may happen that some asexual person never realized oneself being asexual and suffered from it for so long alone, and some allosexual person who happened to know a lot could notice what's going on and introduce "asexual" to the asexual person in a sincerely kind / helpful manner, "saving / freeing" the one, even.
Isn't it a good thing to learn about something "new" that is necessary "in any way (not offensive!!)", rather than staying behind and unintentionally repeating the same negative situation, if not causing worse things? Not everyone is lucky to get to know something or everything "naturally" or "normally" by a specific "proper" age.
Besides, Noe is understandably ignorant (like us readers / audiences) in canon from the beginning, with all his unfortunate, traumatic, and isolated childhood backstories and extremely limited interactions with other people... Noe's such huge, naive ignorance indirectly tells something about the "Teacher" Shapeless One as well! which is quite subtle from MJ-sensei XD
IDK now I'm curious if they called it a bad writing, too (and called MJ-sensei racist), when "black" Noe turned out to have been treated as a chained slave / property in the black market and "taken" by "white" Shapeless One...as if it's all meant to look "pure positive"? What about the scene where "white" Domi put a chain on "black" Noe's neck? Was it only great because it's "female dominant"?? lol :/ I also remember that not so long ago - "white" Misha enslaved "black" Noe and violated him in multiple, stressful ways (including the rapey blood-drinking)...and yet, the fandom mostly felt so sorry for the "white assaulter" Misha much more and got sooo disappointed / mad at the "black victim" Noe for "daring to" fiercely fight back and hurt his face, NOT "gently" pushing him away or (just forgetting about kidnapped Domi his important childhood friend and) "angelically" understanding him (the abuser) and "eagerly" protecting him as a "mere obedient black slave" of his "poor young white master" aka Stockholm syndrome lol =_=
.
.
This was not going to be this long and this petty, but it happened midway, sorry asdfg
Thank you for reading my subjective opinions so far!
