Double Concertos
Brahms composed a double concerto for violin and cello. Bach for two violins. Other great composers also wrote double concertos too such as Mozart, Mendelssohn, Stravinsky, Bartok, Telemann, Vivaldi and Haydn. But a concerto for more than a single instrument and orchestra can still be seen as a special event due to the rarity of performances. For the adventurous composers (and performers) the…

Bad Alchemy - Slapp Happy / Henry Cow (1975)
I'm currently reading Benjamin Piekut's astounding chronicle of the history of Henry Cow. They're a fascinating group, but I bet dealing with the trio of Fred Frith/Chris Cutler/Tim Hodgkinson must've been an ungodly humorless endeavor in the mid-70s.
No wonder Peter Blegvad was relieved when he got kicked out of the band:
“The crime I was guilty of was flippancy, In the early ’70s, Henry Cow were very strict Marxist-Leninists, and I couldn’t toe the party line. I don’t think I specifically mocked their ideology, but I was, and still am, a bit of a joker. [...] It’s just very hard for me to take anything seriously, and when it gets po-faced, that’s when I find it irresistible to mock it.” - Peter Blegvad, 1998
I dig them, but I dunno if I can forgive them for devouring Slapp Happy after they made this record.

The Kit Kat Club has laid siege to the Playhouse Theatre. The performers have infiltrated the premises. The artists have staked their claim. Who knows for how long they’ll stay, but for now they are enjoying the party. The party at the end of the world.
Transforming one of London’s most famous theatres with an in-the-round auditorium and reimagined spaces, before the show guests are invited to enjoy and explore the Kit Kat Club with pre-show entertainment, drinks and dining all on offer. When booking, guests will receive a 'club entry time' to allow enough time to take in the world of the Kit Kat Club before the show starts. But of course, the show really starts when you first join us in the club…
With music by John Kander, lyrics by Fred Ebb and a book by Joe Masteroff, Cabaret is directed by Rebecca Frecknall, with set and costume design by Tom Scutt, choreography by Julia Cheng, musical supervision and direction by Jennifer Whyte, lighting by Isabella Byrd, and sound by Nick Lidster.

Eir
Thjothvara chamam à terceira;
Bjort e Bleik, Blith e Frith,
Eir e Aurboða.» Tradução de Benjamin Thorpe:
Vindkald.
Diz-me, Fiolsvith! etc.,
Fiolsvith.
Hlif chama-se a primera, a segunda Hlifthursa,
a terceira Thiodvarta,
Biort e Blid, Blidr, Frid,
Eir e Orboda.
Fjölsviðr responde afirmativamente a Svipdagr:
Fjolsvith:
Nos elevados altares sagrados;
Fiolsvith.
no lugar sagrado,
