Birthstones: November🍂
November's birthstones, imperial topaz and citrine, are the colour of autumn leaves. Quite fitting! Let’s discuss their physical and metaphysical properties as we begin the month.
Golden Topaz
Tumblr media
Topaz, consisting of aluminum hydroxy-fluorosilicate (Al₂(SiO₄)(F,OH)₂), displays a diverse range of colors. Imperial topaz, also called glden topaz, owes its colours to different impurites, and may also be heated or irradiated to make the colour more vivid. Topaz also exhibits pleochroism: its color alters when viewed from different angles.
Imperial topaz' golden colours are said to attracted prosperity, abundance, and luxury. It is also thought to enhance visualisation, creativity, and generosity, as well as strengthening will, promoting personal growth, and confidence in one's abilities. It benefits general health and eyesight, particularly the endocrine glands, gallbladder, liver, and kidneys.
While topaz ranks a high 8 on the Mohs hardness scale, it is easily broken due to its poor cleavage. Sudden temperature changes may also cause it to break. Its colour is generally stable in sunlight, but prolonged exposure may cause fading or yellowing. This is the case especially with irradiated crystals. Clean topaz only with warm, soapy water.
Citrine
Tumblr media
Citrine is a type of quartz, a mineral made of silicon dioxide (SiO₂). It is made when amethyst or smoky quartz are heated up in the Earth's crust. This heating, along with the iron present in its structure, causes the yellowish colour. Natural citrine is relatively rare; most citrine on the market is heat treated amethyst or smoky quartz. The easiest tell between the two is both colour and presentation: real citrine is rarely a deep orange, nor does it come on a stark white geode.
Citrine, being yellow, is associated with the sun, providing warmth, comfort, energy, vitality, and optimism. As well, citrine is associated with imagination, personal will, creativity, and productivity. It may support interpersonal relationships, promotes problem-solving, and shields against negativity. It is thought to attract wealth, prosperity, and success, while also encouraging generosity and sharing good fortune. Citrine is believed to transmute negative energy and dissipate it while not accumulating it. Physically, Citrine boosts stamina, supports the endocrine system, aids digestion, and promotes healthy skin, nails, and hair. It is also believed to reduce depression, increase self-esteem, and aid in decision-making.
Like all quartz, citrine is a 7 on the Mohs hardness scale, and due to a lack of cleavage, won't break any time soon. However, since citrine's colour is due to heat, further heat can discolour it. Sunlight as well may discolour it. Warm, soapy water is best for cleaning citrine.

Topaz And Citrine: A Detailed Look At November's Birthstones
By Gems Build
November is a special month, marking the birth of individuals who are as vibrant and colorful as the fall season itself. While this month is filled with the richness of autumn and the anticipation of the holidays, it also brings the joy of celebrating November-Borns. To those privileged enough to be born in this month, the universe has given two stunning gemstones - topaz and citrine.
Tumblr media
Unveiling the Mystique of Topaz
Topaz, a captivating November birthstone, is a rainbow of color possibilities, ranging from fiery orange reminiscent of a sunset, to tranquil blues that mimic a clear sky, and even clear water-like neutral hues.
Its reputation in history is equally colorful. It was believed to endow the wearer with strength and intelligence. Some cultures even hailed it as a potent talisman, protecting against harm.
The most sought-after variant of topaz is the Imperial Topaz, celebrated for its vibrant orange hue with pink undertones. The color of topaz, in its untouched form, is colorless, and its unique hues are attributed to the impurities present in it.
Tumblr media
The world's key sources of this mesmerizing gem include Brazil, Nigeria, and Australia. This precious stone's color spectrum and historical significance make it a captivating gem and a favorite among those born in November.
In jewelry, it is very versatile and can be set in various pieces, from rings to pendants. This makes it not only a birthstone for November babies but a popular choice for anyone appreciating its unique beauty and variety of colors.
Understanding the Enigma of Citrine
Citrine, the second birthstone of November, is cherished for its captivating color palette. Its hues range from a soft, pastel yellow to a rich, golden brown, perfectly embodying the transitional stage of late autumn.
The term 'citrine' is derived from the French word "citron," which translates to lemon, highlighting its predominant yellow color.
Historically, citrine held the title of the "merchant's stone" due to its alleged ability to draw wealth and prosperity to its wearer.
Most citrine gemstones available in the market today are heat-treated versions of amethyst or smoky quartz. The naturally occurring version of citrine, a much rarer variety, is mostly sourced from Brazil.
Despite the shared characteristic of color with topaz, citrine stands on its own with its unique properties and historical significance. The warmth of its tones and it believed positive effects on wealth make it a desirable gemstone, particularly to those celebrating their birthdays in November.
Its beauty and symbolism also extend its appeal beyond those born in this month, making it a favored choice for many jewelry lovers.
When it comes to citrine jewelry, its versatility shines through. The gem can be beautifully incorporated into various types of jewelry pieces, from statement necklaces to delicate earrings.
It's warm, sun-kissed hues add a touch of elegance to any outfit, making it a go-to gemstone for those seeking a blend of sophistication and charm in their jewelry collection.
Health Benefits of Topaz and Citrine
In the realm of health and wellness, both topaz and citrine are attributed with a variety of potential benefits that extend beyond their visual appeal. The dazzling topaz, in addition to being an adornment, is also believed to carry therapeutic properties.
Its energies are thought to harmonize emotions and thoughts, contributing to a balanced lifestyle. Ancient cultures utilized topaz in healing practices, targeting physical ailments. It was believed to assist with digestive issues, blood disorders, and even to help stave off hemorrhages.
Similarly, citrine's positive effects are not only limited to enhancing one's style. The gemstone is considered a catalyst for mental prowess and concentration. Many turn to citrine for its supposed ability to enhance clarity of thought and spur creativity. It's also associated with fostering physical wellness. Some individuals use it in holistic practices to assist with digestion and detoxification. The belief is that it promotes a healthier body by purging toxins and impurities.
Thus, beyond their undeniable beauty and rich historical significance, both of the gemstones are perceived to contribute to the overall wellbeing of their wearers. It's important to note that while these gemstones are revered for their supposed health benefits, they should not replace any medical treatment or advice. For medical advice, you should always speak with a specialist.
Caring for Your Topaz and Citrine Jewelry
When it comes to maintaining the brilliance and longevity of your topaz and citrine jewelry, certain precautions need to be taken. These gemstones, while hardy, can still be susceptible to damage if not cared for properly. Try to prevent them from being subjected to sharp impacts or abrasions which may cause unnecessary scratches or chips.
Cleaning your topaz and citrine pieces need not be a complex process. A soft, lint-free cloth and some mild soap in warm water can usually do the trick. Gently cleanse the gems, taking care not to rub too harshly. Stay away from potent chemical cleaners or ultrasonic devices that could potentially harm the integrity of the stones.
Storing your topaz and citrine pieces also requires some thought. It is advisable to keep them separately from other pieces of jewelry. This helps to mitigate the risk of scratches or other damage from harder stones or metal elements on other pieces of jewelry. Soft cloth pouches or individual compartments in a jewelry box can be ideal for this purpose.
The same care and attention you put into choosing your topaz and citrine jewelry should also be extended to their maintenance. The right care regimen can preserve the allure of your gemstones and ensure that their radiance endures for years to come. Regularly checking your jewelry for any signs of wear and tear and getting them repaired in a timely manner can also be crucial to the lifespan of your pieces.
Keep in mind, though, that while these tips can help in maintaining the shine and luster of your gemstones, they are not foolproof. Depending on the setting of the jewelry and the lifestyle of the wearer, the frequency and type of care might differ. When in doubt, it is always best to seek advice from a professional jeweler.

Buying Guide for Topaz and Citrine Jewelry
When it comes to investing in topaz or citrine jewelry, it's crucial to trust your source. These gemstones are precious, and you want to ensure their authenticity. It's also important to recognize that these gemstones might undergo treatments to enhance their color or clarity, which can impact their overall value.
When deciding on topaz, one should inspect for the presence of inclusions. A quality stone will be free of these internal flaws. The color can vary greatly, but remember, the most prized is the Imperial Topaz with its mesmerizing orange-pink hues.
On the other hand, when choosing citrine, the color intensity matters significantly. A stone that boasts a deep, rich color, often close to a golden hue, is usually considered more valuable.
Whether you're opting for earrings, a necklace, a bracelet, or a ring, both topaz and citrine can make a remarkable gift for a November-born loved one or anyone who appreciates their beauty and symbolism. But remember to keep the recipient's style and taste in mind when choosing the piece.
Buying topaz and citrine jewelry is not merely a purchase, it's an investment. It's a timeless piece of adornment that carries not only aesthetic value but also historical significance and supposed health benefits.
Make your selection carefully and from trusted sources to ensure the authenticity and longevity of these stunning gems.
But remember, purchasing these birthstones is more than just buying a piece of jewelry; it's acquiring a piece of history, a symbol of the season, and a token of affection that can last a lifetime.
It's the perfect way to celebrate November birthdays or any special occasion. Enjoy the process of selection, knowing that you're choosing a piece of jewelry that will continue to sparkle with timeless beauty and significance for years to come.
Discover the allure of birthstone enchantment! Immerse yourself in the blazing energy of garnet, the tranquil calm of amethyst, and the hopeful essence of aquamarine. Experience resilience with diamond, affection with emerald, and enchantment with alexandrite. Kindle fervor with ruby, seek serenity with peridot, and uncover wisdom with sapphire. Embrace the lively spirit of tourmaline, the comforting warmth of topaz, and allow either tanzanite or turquoise to lead your path.

Around the word, crystals and gems have always held power and influence over people. From beliefs regarding their qualities, to their value as symbols of power and wealth, human beings have always sought and worn them as part of their clothing and accessories.
Tumblr media
Some of these gems are very precious and can be very expensive, but some crystals and precious stones that are thought to promote serenity and calm in your environment and mind are affordable and often used in custom jewelry.
Here are the most common crystals and gems often used in jewelry pieces that are thought to bring about peace and calm for the wearer and their surroundings.
Rose Quartz This is quartz crystal with a pinkish hue, and is often used in jewelry pieces as it is believed to promote compassion and love in the wearer. Many people who feel anxiety and stress could benefit from wearing a rose quartz bracelet as it promotes self-love and forgiveness.
Aquamarine A form of beryl, aquamarine is an abundant precious stone that has a sea blue hue. This stone often loses its color when exposed to sunlight, though they could cost as much as $1000 per carat.
This gem is believed to give the wearer peace and calm, and those who feel stressed or unfocused could simply touch the stone to focus their energies and regain some form of balance in their life.
Amethyst A form of purple quartz, amethyst in many cultures is believed to bring peace and positive energy. People who believe in the power of gems often use amethyst to give them wisdom and enlightenment.
Some people prefer to use amethyst crystals in their home, placing them in areas where it can create a positive mood and energy in the house. However, you can still wear it in jewelry, especially as a necklace or bracelet.
Citrine Is another form of quartz, but it is very rare, and most citrine quartzes are artificially created by exposing smoky quartzes to heat. It can be as valuable as topaz due to its rarity and beauty. Its beautiful color is thought to bring about warmth and joy to the wearer.
It is also thought to bring about prosperity and wealth, which is why it is also called the “merchant’s stone” or money stone.
Hematite This is a form of iron oxide pound in crystal form. It reacts slightly to the earth’s magnetic field due to the silver and iron ore present in the crystal. People who wear hematite bracelets, just like those who wear rose quartz bead bracelets, can feel calm and safe.
It is thought to repel negative energy, and help the wearer stay serene and focused in any situation. This is why it is often called the warrior stone, as it brings a sense of calm even in turbulent times.
You can place these crystals and precious stones in their original crystal beds if you want a stronger energy in your environment. But you can also wear them as jewelry to remind you to stay calm and focused in stressful situations.

Identifying Crystals
What makes each crystal unique and special is its dynamic composition, which is made up of highly structured patterns of molecules called lattices. As their pattern repeats itself over and over again, shapes and facets with particular types of symmetry are created. In stone identification, crystals are categorized into several types of shapes, which influence their aesthetic and energetic properties.
Crystals such as Pyrite, Diamonds, and Fluorite are cubic lattices created from three equal axes formed into a cube. The balanced structure gives these types of stones a naturally harmonious energy that magnifies everything around it. Crystals can also be hexagonal, like Emerald and Aquamarine, which are shaped in four axes of six-sided symmetry.
Other crystals such as Apophyllite and Zircon are tetragonal, a shape that resembles two four-side pyramids joined at the base. Some crystals aren’t as highly uniformed. In the mineral kingdom, orthorhombic crystals have three unequal axes that form an elongated spear, like Peridot and Topaz. The most asymmetrical of crystal shapes are the triclinic kind like Labradorite and Turquoise while trigonal crystals have an elongated lozenge shape.
Colors are another common crystal identification method. In fact, many gemstone experts classify crystals according to color because of its link with specific healing properties. The color blue, for instance, has a gentle and soothing quality while red is associated with passion and desire. In the gemstone world, colors are also linked with certain types of crystals and how they are used for specific chakras, which are designated energy centers in the body.
Crystal identification by color can be challenging for some crystals like Calcite, Fluorite, and Tourmaline, among others, since they come in different colors. In that case, you should refer to a crystal book or directory that categorizes by color and includes a photo of the specimen. Here is a list of the most widely available crystals to point you in the right direction.
Black – Associated with power, protection, and mystery, commonly available black gemstones include Black Obsidian, Black Tourmaline, Hematite, Jet, and Onyx.
Blue – A tranquil and relaxing color, blue crystals are excellent for emotional and physical balancing. Commonly found crystals in this category are Angelite, Aquamarine, Celestite, and Lapis Lazuli. Blue crystals also include Blue Lace Agate, Apatite, Azurite, Blue Chalcedony, and Chrysocolla.
Brown – Associated with the earth and the trees, brown stones help to absorb negative energy. Harness the earthy healing vibes of brown gemstones with Smoky Quartz, Brown Jasper, Bronzite, Petrified Wood, and Tiger’s Eye.

Pink – The color of love and compassion, pink stones like Rose Quartz and Rhodochrosite are big-time heart energizers and openers. Other pink stones include Lepidolite, Pink Tourmaline, and Pink Sapphire.
Grey – The color of moonlight, gray or silver stones reflect the expansiveness of the universe, which gives them protective warrior-like qualities. Gray stones like Hematite and Moonstone have a silvery finish that evokes a starry night sky, a subtle yet powerful influx of light that helps to cleanse the spirit.
Purple – The color of enlightenment and intuition, purple stones like Amethyst and Charoite have a magical luster. They also help balance the emotions with relaxing and soothing vibes. The crystalline structure of purple stones makes them powerful energy amplifiers, especially when combined with other heart chakra stones.
Red – The color of passion and life force energy, red stones like Garnet, Ruby, and Red Tiger’s Eye have a warming and grounding energy that helps support the root chakra.
White – Representing purity and transformation, white stones like Selenite and Clear Quartz make excellent healing tools, especially when incorporated into healing layouts.
When you combine astrology with crystals, it has the potential to take your inner wisdom to a whole new energetic level. As Socrates put it, “To know thyself is the beginning of wisdom,” and the beaming diamonds in the sky can give you insight into your deep inner workings, especially in combination with certain crystals. In the ultimate energy cocktail, try out these crystals for your astrological sign and let it guide you on your epic journey.

Be focused and confident because with Citrine, Yellow Jasper, Rutilated Quartz, and Pyrite by your side, you can be successful at whatever you set out to do.
Sacral Chakra – An unbalanced sacral chakra can make you feel depressed or lethargic. Alternatively, if this energy center is overactive, you could be overemotional. Bring it all into balance with Carnelian, Orange Calcite, Tiger’s Eye, and Sunstone, the gemstones of inspiration, excitement, and motivation.
Root Chakra – Always feel grounded and anchored to the earth with root chakra stones like Red Garnet, Red Jasper, Smoky Quartz, Black Onyx, and Hematite. Wear it on the skin as jewelry or keep it throughout home and you’ll begin to notice a renewed sense of confidence.
Multiple crystals can relate to one another in some way, so you can use different crystals to amplify one spell with the same intention! It’s all about your intentions and what you want to get out of the crystals and spells. Each crystal should be given a purpose. The next Unit will cover how you can do just that!

Muse as a Deity

RULES: think carefully about your character and their development through their journey within their story. REPOST, do not reblog!
TAGGED BY: a monster @sennokami
DEITY OF: Life, essentially. His ‘realm’ includes growth, hope, the indomitable desire to move forward and preserve what is precious. Peace. Change.
He is associated with willpower and protection. Those that feel too small, too weak to strive for their goals, may worship. Those that feel brave and out of place, want to bring change out of love, worship without knowing so. The hopeless pray for mercy, the hopeful pray for guidance. The meaning of his realm has become skewed over time; he is an old god. From fertility to generosity, all sorts of things have been attributed to him. Protection and Will are constants.
Hashirama exists in harmony and discord with struggle - his antonym and equal in one. He is the resolve, not the drive. The resolve to fight for the good of something, for the benefit of others rather than oneself. He is not blood and war, but victory and peace. This isn’t strictly bound to morality, but to the notion of fighting for something greater than yourself.
ASSOCIATED WITH: Forests | Flowers | Spring | Inner Peace | Fertility SACRED PLANTS: Lily of the Valley | Red Japanese Lotus SACRED STONES/GEMS: Blue Topaz | Emerald | Onyx | Smoky Quartz SACRED ANIMALS: Stag | Wolf | Bee COLOR(S): Green, Walnut Brown, Amber FOOD: The bounties of the forest; Mushrooms, Berries, Meat SCENTS: Pine | Rainy Forest Morning
WAYS TO HONOR: By protecting what is most precious to you. By giving of yourself when you have everything to lose. By daring to stand up against the world.
ACCEPTED OFFERINGS: Anything given must be meaningful, no matter its worldly value. It could be a pebble that you once skipped across a river; if it means something to you and you are giving it willingly, it is an offering accepted.

The Many Beautiful Colors of Topaz
Topaz is a gem that has a long history of being associated with the sun. This is because the colors of a sunrise or sunset are captured in this gem. Egyptians thought that wearing an amulet or pendant of topaz provided protection by the sun god Ra to the wearer. The Romans associated topaz with the sun god Jupiter and felt that topaz was a powerful bringer of good fortune and positive events.
Many cultures historically believed that wearing topaz allows you to be clear of vision and thought, and to be able to ward off evil spells or enchantments. Historically it was also believed to give the wearer almost super-human strengths and abilities when in emergency or crisis situations. In ancient times many nobles wore topaz, as it was believed to change color when in the presence of poison. They often wore it in rings and placed their hands over their food or drink to see if it had been meddled with. Topaz was also thought to gain strength with the phases of the moon and thought to cure some diseases and conditions such as insomnia, respiratory problems, and some blood disorders.
In more modern tradition, topaz is the birthstone for those born in the month of November. While a very hard stone, it can be split fairly easily if hit at the right angle.
Colors:
Topaz naturally comes in many different colors. The most recognized color of topaz is an amber or gold color, with highlights of peach, tans, browns, or shades of orange. Cognac color of topaz is slightly darker than the amber shade and tends to have more of the brown highlights.
The largest topaz is the Braganza topaz. It is found inset in the Portuguese Crown and was originally thought to be a large diamond. This topaz, while called white topaz, is really colorless and is the most common type, found in China, Sri Lanka, Brazil, Nigeria, and India.
Pink topaz occurs naturally in Pakistan and Russia and is occasionally found in other locations. Pink topaz is usually pale pink; anything that is described as “hot pink” or “bright pink” is artificially treated or heated to produce the enhanced color. Heating some shades of pink topaz will remove the orange color and will leave a lavender-colored gem.
Brown, red, dark pink, yellow, orange, and sherry colored topaz are found naturally in Brazil and Sri Lanka. Heating and enhancing of these different naturally occurring colors can lead to a wide variety of darker shades and truly unique colors.
Pale topaz can be irradiated in a lab to create a blue topaz. The color of this gem is very pale to medium blue and is not a dark blue color. The pale topaz needed to make a blue topaz is found in Sri Lanka, China, Brazil, and Nigeria.
In 1998, gemologists began surface-enhancing pale topaz to create a green topaz. This topaz ranges in color from a leaf green to an emerald green. Again, this is not a naturally occurring gem and requires surface-enhancement to produce the color.
Topaz Rings Are For Women:
Women born in November are very lucky because they have topaz as their birthstone ring. The topaz birthstone is a very extraordinary gem What sets topaz unique is that there are no identical topaz stones in terms of its shades of color and due to the colorful and sparkling appearance that enables it to match clothes and other jewelries.
Topaz gems are quite diverse and as a fashion accessory, they are very flexible. A pure topaz gemstone is a colorless and translucent gemstone, but variation also occurs that creates a set of color hues such as yellow, pink, peach, red, brown, yellow, blue, gold, green, and the yellow when heat treated can turn into a rare pink. Crystals have appealed to human imagination for thousands of years. According to Greek myth, Atlantis used crystals to power machines and used the crystals as personal notebooks. Nowadays, crystals are extremely popular; they appear everywhere, from yoga studios to home furnishing shops. https://youtu.be/xBUPqC-uCPA Why do we all love crystals so much? First of all, because they're just incredibly beautiful. Touching a crystal feels like a present and this is partly due to their visual power. In addition, the energy flowing through a crystal is a gift in itself. So if you feel that you are a little behind the crystal madness or if you are not yet completely convinced that crystals are actually for you, then this article about the different healing crystals, their meanings and how you can use them is really for you. Read our 7 Crystals And Gemstones For Luck And Love That May Change Your Perspective article.
Celestite Crystals
Celestite is a strontium sulfate and is colorless, gray to light blue in color. The celestite crystals are transparent to translucent with a glassy shine.
Tumblr media
Celestite is a powerful stone that promotes spiritual development and psychic abilities. It attracts prosperity and happiness and helps to trust your own intuition. Celestite promotes creativity and is very suitable for people who need to speak in public (and other forms of communication). Place Celestite next to your bed to better remember dreams and journeys outside the body. Celestite is also called an angelic stone because it promotes contact with angels and guides during meditation or dreaming. Physically, Celestite has a calming, muscle-relaxing and pain-relieving effect and is helpful with ailments of the eyes, ears, throat and restless legs syndrome.
Black Obsidian
Obsidian is an enormously powerful stone with quite a few variants. And that's a good thing. It is precisely those variants that make the stone usable for everyone. The stone itself is very insightful and cleansing. Because of this it stimulates personal development. The truth emerges, the bearer sees the core of problems and / or hidden emotions come to the surface so that the blockages can be removed. Obsidian often works as a mirror so that the bearer can discover who he or she really is. Of course this is not always pleasant, old traumas can be stirred up and sometimes getting insight into who you really are is a shock. Usually the gemstone is used together or in consultation with a therapist. Fortunately there are also softer variants (apache tears, snowflake obsidian) of the obsidian so that it suits everyone.
Tumblr media
Obsidian pulls you to the deepest within you. It is a stone that opens and cleanses the soul. During this process the spirit is grounded in the soul so that growth on all levels is within reach. No stone for wimps because Obsidian brings out all darkness and transforms it. At the same time it is a powerful shield against negative intentions of others. Ideal stone for shamanic journeys so that the darkness is experienced but will never corrupt the soul. The earth star chakra gets a deep grounding in mother earth and being aware that it is one with all that is. An enormously powerful spiritual stone for advanced people. He will amaze you and magically allow you to experience an enormous growth. But we're not there yet in terms of healing effects. The stone reduces fear, breaks through blockages, traumas, limiting patterns of behavior and thinking. At the same time it protects against mental attacks, reduces spiritual or emotional dependence and removes negativity from the environment. In this way the stone is also good to use against radiation. The bearer of obsidian is blessed with clarity of thought and sharpened senses. The mineral is ideal for meditation. Physically, the stone is analgesic, antispasmodic, stimulates digestion, detoxifies and improves the blood circulation. The stone can also have a warming effect on chronically cold hands and feet. Obsidian was created from rapidly cooled lava and is therefore found in volcanic areas. It is an opaque black, glassy stone sometimes with white, grey or red spots.
Citrine Crystals
Citrine is a stone as powerful as it is rare. The gemstone has powers that are unique in their kind. The stone cleans itself and has direct contact with solar energy. It warms the heart, counteracts depression simply by making its wearer happy every day, gives self-confidence and makes determination. If the stone also attracts prosperity, extrovert and creative and gives energy then one thing is clear. Citrine is a 'must have'.
Tumblr media
The stone attracts happiness, prosperity, success, wealth and abundance and stimulates the wearer to share this with others. Citrine makes creative and promotes self-expression and helps to resolve conflicts within a group. It also protects the aura and cleanses the chakras. A sunny and warming stone. The yellow mineral promotes self-confidence, self-respect, individuality, extroversion and stimulates self-realization. It gives energy, joie de vivre and courage and helps to overcome depressions, (failure) fears, phobias and self-destructive behavior. Physically, the stone also provides energy. It stimulates digestion and has a beneficial effect on the stomach, spleen, pancreas (diabetes) and intestines. The sunny stone also helps with infections of the kidneys and bladder, improves blood circulation and helps people with chronic fatigue syndrome. In case of old age diabetes (diabetes mellitus) it is advisable to wear it and drink water regularly where the stone has been in for a period of time, about 24 hours is enough. This stimulates the pancreas. The stone can also be worn preventatively. Citrine containing aluminum (often a little lighter tinted than the ferrous variant) has a stimulating and regenerating effect on the nerves. Nerves damaged by compression or stretching are healed by the mineral. Citrine is yellow or orange-brown in color. The stone belongs to the macrocrystalline quartz family. The yellow happiness bringer is often imitated by heating amethyst or smoky quartz. This variant is less potent than naturally occurring. Smokey Citrine is a combination of Citrine and Smoky Quartz and unites the properties of both crystals. Heated Amethyst is sold under all kinds of picturesque trade names, such as bahia and madeira Citrine. Also names like Bahia Topaz, Madeira Topaz, Spanish Topaz, Uruguay Topaz and Golden Topaz occur. These are forgeries of the gemstone topaz, which is very similar to citrine. The stone is closely related to rock crystal, amethyst and smoky quartz. Citrine and Amethyst can occur in one stone; the result is called Ametrine, a beautiful stone, certainly worth a mention. Dark varieties of Citrine are ferruginous, while the very light varieties are Aluminium-containing.
Rose Quartz

How to Heal with Healing Crystals
Most people become very interested with the use of crystals right off the bat; mostly because of their very diverse beauty and decorative properties. What they might not know is that all crystals have healing properties, and can do very good for yourself if used in the right way. Of course, just having them around can help, but neglecting to cleanse them or be aware of what they truly can do will only limit their potential.
When I’m being asked about healing crystals, most people don’t know where to start or they genuinely just don’t understand how they work. I’ll do my best to create a guide here to help you find a starting point and help you better understand what crystals can do for you.
Crystal Healing
Healing from crystals comes from resonance and vibrations. Crystal healing has been around for thousands of years, and is used in some medical practice today. Some can heal physical ailments, most commonly headaches and swelling, others help bring an inner peace and balance, on a more quiet and sedative vibration. Crystals are piezoelectric, which means that electricity is produced through compression, basically crystals can produce sound/light waves and vibrations. These have been used in many healing techniques globally. Crystals are generally used to treat blockages in the body, to stop or deal with pain, or to create calmness.
There are crystals that can be used for different parts of the body to alleviate stress or pain. For example, for a stomach-related problem, moonstone, citrine, or green fluorite can be of service to that kind of problem. For headaches, try lapis lazuli or amethyst placed on the brow or forehead. Research specifically your need and there is a crystal to help.
Crystals heal on a physical, emotional, mental and spiritual level. They are used to realign energies and bring an internal balance to one’s aura or energy field. They’re used to prevent or remove blockages in one’s aura or chakras.
chak·raˈCHäkrə/
noun
plural noun:
chakras
(in Indian thought) each of the centers of spiritual power in the human body, usually considered to be seven in number.
Crystals for each chakra:
Crown Chakra: clear quartz, selenite, moonstone, howlite, apophyllite Generally white, silver & clear stones.
Third Eye Chakra: amethyst, purple fluorite, lepidolite, purple argonite Generally purple or indigo stones.
Throat Chakra: blue kyanite, blue lace agate, blue calcite, sodalite, angelite, blue chalcedony Generally blue stones.
Heart Chakra: rose quartz, green fluorite, pink tourmaline, pink chalcedony, rhodochrosite, aventurine Generally pink or green stones.
Solar Plexus Chakra: citrine, yellow calcite, yellow jasper, carnealian, yellow/gold fluorite, tiger’s eye, yellow apatite, yellow topaz Generally yellow or gold stones.
Sacral Chakra: carnealian, orange calcite, orange quartz, jasper, amber Generally orange stones.
Root Chakra: black obsidian, smoky quartz, black tourmaline, garnet, black onyx, hematite Generally black, gray or brown stones.
*Obviously more apply to each, but these are just the basic general ones that stimulate each chakra.
By finding which chakra needs the most healing, or which you’d like to heal personally, you must reflect and be honest with yourself to come to a real decision.
Methods for Working with Crystals
Wearing Crystals is probably the most common and the easiest way to work with them, but they must be cleansed more often. Wearing them as a necklace or in a pouch works the best for most people. Crystals are more effective if they are actually touching your skin, so holding them in your hand or wearing them around your neck might be the best way to go here.
Sleeping with Crystals is another common one. Keeping them under your pillow for those that have trouble sleeping, or wish to remember dreams, or have more vivid dreams may be very helpful. Keeping them on a nightstand near your bed is also another way to sleep with them. Amethyst, moonstone and howlite are very effective stones for protection while sleeping, to help with insomnia or trouble sleeping, and to have vivid/prophetic dreams.
Bathing with Crystals is another helpful and common way to heal. Some crystals cannot be put into water though, like moonstone and selenite, because of their natural properties, so be wary and informed on that before ever bathing with them. Some can even become toxic. The basic idea behind bathing with crystals is that your bath water can become more energized by them, thus improving and increasing your healing time.
Crystal Meditation is perhaps the most common next to wearing them. It’s one of the easiest ways to become more attune to your crystal and feel it’s purest energy. By holding the crystal in your hand(s) or in front of you. Breathing gently, letting the air flow in and out of you. Envisioning a ball of energy in front of you or surrounding you depending on what crystal you’re using can be helpful during this process. Make sure you’re in a quiet area preferably alone, with no distractions. Noticeable signs of crystal vibration is throbbing in your hand(s), tingly feeling, heat/warmth, etc.
“With softly focused eyes, look at your crystal. Notice its color, its shape, its weight if you are holding it. Feel its vibrations passing into your hands. Allow yourself to wander within the crystal, exploring its inner planes. When you are ready, close your eyes. Quietly contemplate the energies of the crystal and let it teach you about itself.” – The Crystal Bible, Judy Hall
How to Cleanse Crystals
Put them out under the full moon, new moon, or under any phase you’d like or intuitively feel is right for them. Paying attention to the moon’s phases will help you better decide on what time is right to charge which crystal, depending on the traits of it and what you will be using them for. If you don’t want to or can’t leave them out overnight, 5-15 minutes is okay too. If you cannot actually see the moon, but it’s full, your crystals will still get the energy and be charged. Even if it is cloudy, rainy, etc. The full moon is the best, most effective time and safest way to cleanse any crystal. Sunlight is cleansing too, but certain crystals cannot be left out in sunlight or they will fade. Examples of these crystals are: Amegreen, Amethyst, Ametrine, Apophyllite Green, Aquamarine, Auralite, Celestite, Citrine, Fluorite, Hiddenite, Kunzite, Opal (will dry out), Prasiolite, Rose Quartz, Smoky Quartz, Spirit Quartz, Super Seven, Topaz, and Turquoise.
Some crystals do not even need to be cleansed at all, these are Citrine and Kyanite. Sometimes you can even use other crystals to cleanse others, like Amethyst and Clear Quartz.
Alternative methods of cleansing are: rainwater. Place your crystal(s) in a bowl and let them sit outside when it’s raining or during a storm. The ionic charge cleanses crystals very quickly and efficiently. Ocean water works well too. Let them air dry. Hold the crystal(s) in your dominant hand and channel your energy through to the crystal to charge it. 5-10 minutes should be good. Like I mentioned earlier: some crystals cannot be used in water, so be informed. Place them in a garden/where you keep your plants, or resting on the soil with the plant(s). 2-4 hours should be good.
Sage and incense. Hold your crystal to the smoke and let it bathe in it. Use your intuition to be able to know when they are done. You’ll just know.
It is ideal to charge and program (getting it attune to you, it’s purpose and universal need) as soon as you get the crystal. It will remove any strangers energy from it and make it yours only. Programming a crystals means to establish its use into the universe. You will decide what you want this crystal to do for you and how it will benefit you. Intuition is key here.
Where can I buy them?
Googling local metaphysical or crystal shops will give you an idea of where to look in your area. If there are none around you, the most authentic and safe online places to look are Etsy.com and Ebay.com. Please avoid shopping for crystals on websites like amazon. Looking around on Instagram for sellers and crystal enthusiasts is also another really good way to purchase some crystals of your own.
________________________________________________________________________
It’s important to do your own research on crystals you’re interested in buying before purchasing them. Learn what you need to improve or balance within yourself and go from there.

The name Topaz also comes from the Sanskrit and meaning for fire. The Greeks and Romans greatly valued topaz as a gemstone. In medieval times, small wine-yellow Saxonian Topaz was mined at Schneckenstein in the Erzgebirge Mountains in Saxony Germany, and several rulers wore these specimens in jewelry. Deep mining was later used at the site from 1737 to 1800. Topaz was always a prized and rare stone from the time of the middle Ages. In Africa, spiritual healing rituals with topaz are practiced to establish communion with the realm of the spirit. The Bushmen who bring it to their shamanic work both for journeying, working with ancestors, and for healing, treat the stone as a highly sacred one.
