#Before 5B I was like 'Eddie's pining era Eddie's pining era WHEN?'

One thing that was very interesting to me in this episode is the way Eddie was just... not joking about Buck's love interests.
That stuck out.
Usually when Eddie talks to Buck about his love interests, it's with an edge of fond exasperation, teasing laced around his gently delivered truths, but there was none of that this episode. Buck told Eddie he went to see Natalia and it was like something switched. Eddie's entire affect changed when Buck started talking about Natalia. He went from being loose and easy (as loose and easy as one can get when standing at a grave) to being... not combative, necessarily, but visibly actively not wanting to engage in conversation about her either, and it's not...
It's not even jealousy!! We joke a lot about Eddie and jealousy, but it wasn't that at all. It was a fatigue that comes with silence, that comes with holding your tongue, that comes with keeping secrets. Especially when Buck said that he feels like Natalia sees him. That look Eddie gave him immediately after? That was pure hurt. That was him saying I see you too, I've always seen you. But he can't say that. He can't say that, because to say that would be to say so many other things about the way he sees Buck, and to say so many other things would mean to have to unstick his tongue from the roof of his mouth about the ONE thing he's been holding onto ever since he was shot.
I don't know. I don't know, but I think Eddie taking Buck on a date and I think about how Eddie left his son—his heart—in Buck's care so they could bake cookies together (which becomes profoundly more significant in an episode where Christopher was talking about baking smores with his mom), and I think about Kenny saying Ryan has been doing some very nuanced work in the back half of this season, I'm like
Oh. Oh. I see it, thank you. Loud and clear.
#Before 5B I was like 'Eddie's pining era Eddie's pining era WHEN?'#but babes we are right in the thick of it. It's in his eyes. It's in his smile. It's in the way he looks Buck#in the way he treats him. In the way he creates space for his confusion for his fatigue for his grief.#In the way he shows quiet support and a stern shoulder to lean upon#In the way he doesn't burden Buck with his own feelings (even though that's mostly selfish on his part because#no part of Eddie will ever be a burden on Buck but Eddie doesn't know that yet)#It's just. Eddie's feelings for Buck are literally in *everything* he says and everything he does#It bleeds from him just like his blood did on that street.#If everything about Buck/Eddie's lives have been shrouded by the shooting since it happened#everything about their lives has *also* been shrouded by Eddie's enormous and unflinching love for him#and he keeps holding his breath and swallowing it down and putting off the moment where he pulls back the lid#and it all spills out and before he knows it... before he knows it#it's going to be too late. And instead of his blood staining the street it's going to be Buck's and he's going to tell him#but he won't hear him because Eddie was too slow too fucking slow#(did we all peep the watch on his wrist? Yeah. Time is running out Eddie. Time is running out and it is not going to#wait for fear to release its hold on you. Buck's not going to cheat death again. Don't waste time babe)#Anyways. Yeah. YEAH. Yeah....... whew. This episode was a Lot#jack.txt#tv: 911#911: 06 x 15#911 spoilers

i’d love to know more about buddie breakdown over the radio waves? 👀🩷
absolutely <3 this is an older wip from 5b era and buck and eddie are just going through it and of course being idiots and not talking to each other. They're both pining and angry and all sorts of messed up and then Eddie hears Buck get hurt over the radio at the dispatch center. When he tries asking Buck about it he gets brushed off so he storms over to Buck's loft and is like wtf dude and they fight but also kiss so it's fine :3
Eddie’s heart is still beating in his throat when Buck appears at the top of the stairs, towel wrapped around his waist and hair still wet from a shower.  “Oh— Eddie? I didn’t know you were coming over.”  A bitter part of Eddie scoffs at that. Buck would have known Eddie was coming over if he had just answered his phone. Eddie keeps his mouth shut to prevent that bitterness from spilling out.  “Let me just get dressed— I’ll be right down.” Buck turns away, disappearing deeper into loft before Eddie can really get a good look at him.  It only confirms to Eddie that Buck is hiding from him. A hard lump lodges in his throat. Eddie swallows thickly, and some emotions he doesn’t feel like dissecting settles heavy and uncomfortable in the pit of his stomach.
send me the title of a wip and i’ll tell you about it!
here are all the other wips i’ve talked about!

so how would you like see when buddie becomes canon?
love your blog and you always so sweet!!
thank you nonnie!
How I want to see Buddie become canon is, of course, a bit of a long game play. I'm going to set up a general timeline for this, but I do acknowledge it may be wishful thinking
I really want to see Buck and Eddie finally address the shooting, and after that, it's imperative that we get an on screen confirmation of Eddie's feelings. It needs to be an out loud confirmation, so general viewers understand the depth of his feeling. I'd love to see this happen either in 5x10 or when we come back from the hiatus in 5x11. Either way, I want it to set up Eddie's pining era.
From there, there's a lot of growth and self acceptance that needs to happen in order for Eddie to get to a place where he's willing to talk to Buck about his feelings. He's obviously not in a great place right now, and it would be lovely to see him really get to work on his self image and general mental health. It's imperative that before he enters his relationship with Buck that he recognizes his worth as an individual. I think that would be a wonderful arc for him to follow in 5B.
During all of this time, the two should definitely grow closer (not that you can get much closer than no space between the two of you, but that's not important). I'm not particularly picky about when I think Bucktaylor should break up, but it needs to happen by 5x18. A realization from Buck that, though it may seem to be what he's always wanted on paper, it's not what he wants. In either 5x17 or 5x18, Buck needs to have an on screen realization of his feelings for Eddie.
At this point neither is willing to take the scary step of telling the other because what if something goes wrong. What if the other doesn't feel the same way? What would they do if the other were to die? Buck especially already knows how terrified he is of losing Eddie. That fear will keep them apart for all of the hiatus before s6.
During the hiatus, they are gonna fester in that fear. It's always going to be there, and they are going to really accept that their friendship is all that they're ever going to get. When we come back from the hiatus, we're going to get a bit of a glimpse of it in 6x01. It's made things weird again, but it hasn't put distance there. There's still something palpably wrong though.
Enter the s6 disaster.
Chimney and Eddie are separated from the rest of the group at the beginning of the disaster. In between saves in 6x02, they're going to talk about the various issues going on in their lives (I have no idea what arc to expect for Chim in this season, but I know he's gonna have some stuff he wants to talk about). It'll be cathartic, and at the end of 6x02, they get into mortal danger and need the others to come help them.
6x03 is where it all culminates. Eddie is scared about leaving Christopher and Chim is worried about leaving Jee, and they bond over that. Eddie says something about what will happen to Buck, and there will be some sort of conversation where Chimney directly parallels Buck and Eddie to him and Maddie. Eddie then admits his feelings for Buck to Chimney. We then get Chim directing Eddie's own line back at him. "Tomorrow isn't promised to anyone. If you love him, tell him."
Buck during this entire time has had one or two talks with Hen, Bobby, or possibly Ravi. When they find out that Eddie and Chimney are trapped in some kind of danger, he starts to freak out, like he always does. This time though, we get an out loud "I can't lose him, I love him."
It culminates to them saving Chim and Eddie. When they get them out of the situation, Eddie and Buck sort of run to one another in a hug, but they immediately pull back to look into one another's eyes. There's a line about Buck thinking he was going to lose Eddie again, and Eddie says he's always going to fight to come home to his family.
It's then that they share their first kiss.
Now, the reason this all needs to happen at the beginning of a season is because the only relationship we've seen develop from its very beginning stages on screen is Buck's. His journey to find romantic love has been at the forefront, and watching the beginning of his last romantic relationship develop is imperative.
It's also important to showcase that Eddie has found someone who is not only the person he loves but is also his partner and won't leave him or his son.
This is the culmination of what is quite possibly their biggest arcs in the show. It needs to show both, and I have faith that the writers can do it.
Anyway, this was a really long answer, and I hope it lives up to your expectations 😊

I'm really confused. Why majority of the fandom and the people I talk to thinks Buck and Taylor are breaking up before the hiatus like they're so sure?
Yes I'm aware and I've seen that Taylor was kinda into something when Buck arrived at his apartment. I'm also aware that she's fishing some information from Buck and she'll use those little info that he shared to her. Buck didn't tell her all the truth, FYI.
Assuming Buck and the rest of the 118 finds out about Taylor's news report and them accusing Buck for telling her everything. Sure, Buck will feel guilty for telling her half the truth and at the same time feel betrayed by his own girlfriend. Sure, he'll apologize especially to Eddie for telling her girlfriend cause honestly Buck didn't even know Taylor will use those little info and more. But Taylor is Taylor. She has her sources other than Buck. She just had a phone call before Buck arrives, remember?
But Buck is Buck.. he may be reckless and impulsive but never stupid. Never dumb. He will surely talk and demands explanation to his girlfriend as to why she did what she did. Taylor will of course explain everything that I think leads to a mini Taylor begins.
And of course Buck is Buck. With a heart of gold, a person who never gives up easily, Caring and forgiving, he'll forgive and understand Taylor. She's his girlfriend after all. They will talk about it and their professional boundaries. And that will change everything for their relationship. I can see a real change for Taylor. I think that heart to heart talk will make them even closer. And that newfound BuckTaylor closeness will open the doors for Pining Eddie era in 5b. I don't think a break up so soon is happening as much I want to... The writers decided to make Taylor as Buck's first girlfriend since Ali and I'm certain they will drag and squeeze and milk the hell out of their relationship until season finale where Buck will finally realize it's time to break up with her or maybe a mutual decision. Who knows?
But for now, BuckTaylor break up is far from happening sadly. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if Buck proposes to Taylor before the hiatus. Remember what they did to us in Breaking point? Hell yeah, they will do it again.
