Heeeyyy, the news is out!! We were invited by @whatthe-shea to contribute to the awesome new Harley anthology HARLEY QUINN: BLACK + WHITE + REDDER, wherein we got to make our stupidest dreams come true and invent an all-animal supervillain team for our story GREAT PETSPECTATIONS!

From the top we have:

Harley herself, the Maiden of Mischief

Barkseid, scourge of the Armakennels and chewer of Father Boxes

Ares’ Kowarla, the master of disaster, the Passive Aggressor

The Squiddler, Eddie Nygma’s Eight-Armed Bandit of Knowledge

Dex-Starr, the terrifying and fickle Red Lantern

And last but definitely not least, the Best Boys Bud & Lou!

We had the most fun time with all of this, and really hope you check it out when it drops in august!

Panel 1: Three dogs spoofing the New Gods, Metron, Lightray and Orion hold their hands to their heads. The Metron spoof sits on a green chair shaped like a fire hydrant, and the Orion spoof uses the Astro-Harness. The Lightray spoof says, “What barrier is this in our path, Orihound?” Orihound replies, “What else, Lightstray? I’ll wager it’s the work of my father!”  Panel 2: Closeup on Orihound saying, “Wait! I see we are not alone here. Has Barkseid seduced the very heroes we have come to aid?” Panel 3: The Green Lantern spoof who is a sheep uses his ring and says, “Uh-oh! The New Dogs! I recognize Orihound, Lightstray and Muttron from a previous encounter! That Orihound is a bite first, ask questions later sort of guy. I’d better bring up the other JLA Members!” Panel 4: The JLA and New Dogs face each other. JLA members include a sheep Green Lantern, cat version of Zatanna, turtle version of the Flash, moose version of Hawkman, snake version of Martian Manhunter, and mouse version of Batman. All characters float against a space background that has black clusters of circles and an earth labelled “Earth C-Minus”. Orihound says, “Sit up and speak, heroes of Earth C-Minus! Why do you bar our way? What is your intention?” Panel 5: Close up on Batmouse who points and says, “You attacked our ship! Suppose you tell us your intentions!” Panel 6: Close up on Muttron who replies, “We did not attack! We were travelling to Earth C-Minus on a mission. Barkseid has plans to invade your planet with all the forces of Alpo-kolips! We were made aware of his scheme and we came to warn you in our kaboom tube!” Panel 7: Orihound in the foreground calls out to Lightstray near an open kaboom tube saying, “By the way, Lightstray, did you remember to close the kaboom tube this time?” Lightstray shrugs and replies, “Who, me? Why should I always have to close it?” /End]
