Do-do you think one of Jones's attorneys "accidentally" sent those out on purpose bc of how much they fucking despise the man and wanna see him burn
We are entering CT Parallel Speculation Mode:
Occam's Razor: "Alex's current lawyer is the 12th in this case. Every last one of them has been an incompetent idiot, brazen sycophant, or both who shot themselves in the foot. There is no reason to consider this any different. Best not to assume intent where incompetence is sufficient."
Expert Counsel: "Legal experts talking about the case have pointed out that the lawyer has repeatedly made 'first year lawyer" mistakes, likely in an explicit and obvious effort to trigger a mistrial. The judge has noticed this, and chastized him for it. There is a possibility that the lawyer is trying to get Jones to fire him, and that this is a gamble that has not payed off."
Unorthodox Speculation: "Legally speaking, this is a special case. Knowing Alex, his refusal to cooperate with the legal process likely also extends to his own attorney. Given that he has systematically denied himself all possible recourse, I can see a lawyer getting frustrated, covering his own ass, and kamikazeing the case to make it end sooner."
Occultist Brain: "Alex is a showman. He knows he's fucked, and I would not put it past him to weaponize his own incompetence in spectacular form for some pathetic attempt to turn his case into a hot button culture war issue. You saw shades of this in his interview with Steve Bannon. He's using his own fuckup to get the case on Tucker Carlson. This would however require a degree of forethought that is uncommon, but not unheard of for Alex. Additionally, Tucker fucking hates Alex, and thinks he's an embarrassment. Alex knows this. This would be a desperate hail Mary on Alex's part."

SPOILERS FOR GLASS ONION
-
-
-
-
-
I want to talk about how Glass Onion is such an excellent critique of the rich, specifically the kind who live by the mantra, Move Fast and Break Things.
In Glass Onion they call themselves Disruptors, a specific belief that they are an intelligencia who can see beyond rules and morals, and are willing to break those rules and morals to provide advancements the world needs but can't be provided by anyone without their smarts and bravery.
Except for they don't disrupt The System, they perpetuate it by being rich, selfish individuals who get rich off of exploitation. The Elon Musk equivalent, Miles, is a spoiled idiot who forces his staff to pursue his ridiculous ideas and dismisses their many concerns regarding safety or feasibility.
Duke, who represents the grifters of the manosphere, particularly Joe Rogan and Alex Jones, hawks misogyny and dietary supplements to gamers.
Birdie Jay, the influencer type (perhaps a cross between a Kardashian and Goopy Paltrow) is selling lifestyle products made with sweatshop labour (although her character's reason for using it is that she's a massive idiot).
I don't think Claire (the politician) or Lionel (the scientist) are reflections of anyone specific in the political or scientific fields, but are general examples of those who would enable the likes of Elon or Bezos, to be in proximity to their wealth and power for their own gain. Same with Whiskey and Peg, although they suck up to Duke and Birdie to benefit from their wealth and power.
Lastly we have Andi, and she is the one I am least sure of. She's an ideas person, she's got the smarts to stand up against Miles when he pursues an incredibly dangerous and unethical project. She's definitely an aspiring capitalist, but I feel like she's someone who would like to be The Ethical Billionaire but when the reality of the exploitation that being a billionaire requires becomes apparent, the dream falls apart.
These Disruptors perpetuate harmful exploitative systems by sticking together and enabling each other. We all hope that Musk will be destroyed by being a mask-off idiot by mishandling Twitter, but it isn't getting the Mona Lisa destroyed that ends Miles. It's the abandonment by his sycophants.
We will have to suffer fools like Musk and Trump as they break laws and exploit their wealth because of systems of sycophancy, like an ineffectual justice systems and bottom-feeding politicians. The dismantling of those systems is pivotal in being free from the corruption of the 1%.
What a good movie.

Dickheads of the Month: December 2022
As it seems that there are people who say or do things that are remarkably dickheaded yet somehow people try to make excuses for them or pretend it never happened, here is a collection of some of the dickheaded actions we saw in the month of December 2022 to make sure that they are never forgotten.
The ongoing meltdown of Kanye West has peaked far sooner than anybody could have expected, as he appeared on InforWars where he praised Hitler and regurgitated one antisemitic conspiracy theory after another to the point where Alex Jones started to pushback against him
...although billionaire manchild Elon Musk thought it was only worth twelve hours on limited features while claiming that it was a suspension, meaning that actual Nazism isn't against Twitter's ToS these days but suggesting Tesla's cars are utter shite is
Nothing says “Getting into the Christmas spirit” like Greg Abbott rounding up fifty migrants off the streets so they could be driven to be dumped on Kamala Harris’ doorstep for a PR op, especially as said PR op took place in freezing temperatures because the weather bomb affecting large swatches of the USofA wasn't enough reason to commit a little human trafficking to own the libs
German history isn't the forte of  Prince Heinrich XIII Reuss of Greiz  judging by him deciding to make himself the face of an attempted far-right coup to overthrow the German government, only to immediately be shut down by the German police in a wide- reaching batch of arrests. Hmm, can't think why the German authorities in particular would want a far-right group taking over the country by force...
Billionaire manchild Elon Musk once again lied to his investors, this time rallying the alt-right fanbase with a promise of revealing what Twitter “SUPPRESSED” about Hunter Biden and how it proves that Biden was suppressing “FREEZE PEACH”...and his “ evidence” was people who worked for Biden and for Trump asking Twitter to remove dick pics of Hunter Biden prior to the 2020 election, which also happened to be a violation of Twitter's ToS. Trump White House looking to suppress freeze peach on social media...
...and then billionaire manchild Elon Musk showed just how well he can take getting bodied by Tim Cook by setting the charge for Twitter's paid verification to $11.99 for iPhone users instead of the $7.99 his army of sycophants and far-right trolls are paying
...before billionaire manchild Elon Musk started to really go off the rails by wittering on and on (and I do mean on ) about prosecuting Anthony Fauci with the most MAGA of “My pronounces are...” quote-unquote jokes, just to remind people that he was an anti-lockdown grifter back in 2020 who proudly stated that the whole thing would blow over by April (that's April 2020 , not April 2023) which made a mockery of the New York Times headline from only a handful of days earlier which stated they were unsure of his political alignment - and then he tweeted some meme of Fauci advising Biden to hold another lockdown like he was Grima Wormtongue, apparently not realising who was POTUS in 2020
...soon followed by billionaire manchild Elon Musk banning the Twitter account which tracked his private jet using publicly available information on various plane trackers, which only served to have Twitter’s factchecking quote back at him how he said he would not ban that user when he took over and, because Musk can only double down, quoted the First Amendment back at him
...which led to billionaire manchild Elon Musk having a complete meltdown where he started banning journalists left and right and removing Twitter Spaces in a fit of pique after he was called a lying liar who lies on a call using Spaces all because they pointed out his double standards of using what he accused Twitter of doing during his Twitter Files bullshit.  The end result?  Musk’s meltdown has a name and its own Wikipedia article
...and after billionaire manchild Elon Musk had thrown several fits of pique about what he thinks doxxing is (hint: what he thinks doxxing is is not what doxxing is, no matter how much he paid somebody to pose as somebody threatening him as he was looking for an excuse to ban the ElonJet guy) then he went and posted his exact location at the World Cup final, meaning he should ban his own account from his own platform
...followed by billionaire manchild Elon Musk posting what was, essentially, a “Do you like me?” poll on his Twitter account asking if he should continue as Twitter CEO - and losing.  Of course, this has nothing to do with Tesla stock plummeting past critical levels the previous evening...
...and because billionaire manchild Elon Musk is a deeply insecure pissbaby incapable of accepting criticism, he then tried to make excuses for losing that poll claiming it’s bots who want him to fuck off and in future only Twitter users dumb enough to pay him $8 for a free site could vote in future polls
Of course Matt Hancock would try to use his raised profile as an excuse to rewrite history, specifically trying to claim that it was care home staff who were the reason Covid got into care homes in the first half of 2020 and nothing to do with him allowing patients to be discharged directly from hospital into care homes. And this is why Matt Hancock's mouth shall only be used as a receptacle for boiled camel penis until the day he dies
...and soon afterwards Matt Hancock announced, via TikTok of all things, that he had decided that he would not be standing as an MP at the next election...which turned out to be a complete lie, as what actually happened was his local party had told him to bugger off
I’m sure it's a complete coincidence that every time Chaya Raichik tweets yet another doctored video about some location with her LibsofTikTok account in order to further the “drag shows are groomers” narrative the alt-right are doubling down on with increasing insanity these days, that exact same location soon receives bomb threats
So much alternative offered by Wes Streeting where he boldly thundered that a Labor government would wage war on “hostile” health unions, putting them on the exact same standing as Jeremy Kyle thundering “bloody nurses” to the TalkTV braintrust
It took a while for people to notice Michelle Mone had been profiting during lockdown from dodgy contracts, although by “people” I mainly mean the BBC given they cottoned onto the story a good eighteen months after it first broke, so what did Mone do when the net finally started to close in?  Bugger off to Honduras and post photos of her on her yacht to her Instagram as if she wasn't being investigated for massive amounts of fraud
Of course Jonathan Gullis would table a bill to override human rights laws about deporting migrants on the same day where four migrants died while crossing the English Channel - which was soundly defeated at the first hurdle
At this point we really need to check if George Santos is actually alive, because he's lied about pretty much everything else that it's worth checking if he has a pulse or if he lied about that too - and, of course, the GOP Republicans are praising him to the rafters, as lying liars keep appearing the front of their party
Bloody hell did Jeremy Clarkson not realise he was proving Harry & Meghan’s point with his completely unhinged rant about Meghan in his weekly column for The Sun - just as The Sun didn't realise that, by waving it through without seeing how deranged said rant was, they also proved Harry & Meghan’s point about the tabloid press
...and yet when Laura Kuenssberg interviewed Sun editor Victoria Newton as a guest on her Sunday morning show the day after the column was printed, somehow the subject was never broached.  Good journalism, that...
...soon followed by Jeremy Clarkson doing the quite remarkable: posting a nonpology where he didn't even try the “I’m sorry you were offended” line, instead he said that people might have been offended by his column but that is because those people are stupid
Would the LGB Alliance like to tell the class why a letter to them from Ofcom was addressed to 55 Tufton Street?
Unifying force Keir Starmer proved just how in tune he is with Jewish Labour voters by booting Heather Mendick and Stephen Marks out of the party for spurious reasons during Hanukah
For those wondering, no, it still hasn’t occurred to Kari Lake that she lost...
At some point it might occur to Nadim Zahiwi that saying “Labour strikes” for every rail, postal worker or NHS worker strike doesn't make him sound clever at all, it merely makes him sound like a cretin who doesn't realise who has been in power for twelve years - and given him several government posts in that period
Informed, educated and entertaining take from Richard Sharp where he took Emily Maitlis (who left the BBC in February) to task for her comments made on Newsnight ( in the summer of 2020) where she took aim at Dominic Cummings' trip to Barnard Castle in spite having Covid, while saying the BBC has a liberal bias. Because attacking somebody who left the corporation several months ago for not toeing the government line two years ago is definitely an example of liberal bias now...
At this point John Cleese has started to make Basil Fawlty look positively restrained, because when he isn't telling a Muslim he can't spell his name right for not using the most English spelling of Mohammed, he's claiming the BBC have “cancelled” Monty Python as they aren't showing it on TV - even though Cleese knows full well that Netflix currently has the rights to it
Smirking bully Priti Patel probably should have thought out her Christmas card a little more, partly as she makes herself look like a De Pfeffel cultist, but mainly because it hasn’t occurred to her just how many people might actually like to see a Christmas tree shoved up her backside
It needs pointing out to Jenna Ortega that saying she filmed her dance scene in Wednesday while she had Covid is not a sign of professionalism. No, it's actually a sign of callous disregard for everybody else on set
Not exactly self-aware from Paul Burrell to try and get on the Royalists' side by kvetching about how Harry & Meghan's Netflix doc is exploiting Diana, given Burrell has made a packet out of doing that for the past quarter century
...while Nicolas Witchell once again demonstrated his determination to become an honorary member of the Royal family with the usual mistaking his opinion for fact and then blurting it out on the BBC
Ultra-relatable nice guy Rishi Sunak showed his human touch during his photo op serving the homeless a Christmas dinner where he asked one if they worked in business and, when told they were homeless, continued with that line of questioning by asking if banking or finance was something they wished to get into, sort of like an alien’s answering machine would say when the bailiffs said they were coming around for their money or Sunak's kneecaps
It turns out that Andrew Tate ran out of material pretty damn fast, as since returning to Twitter (thanks, Elon!) all he's been posting is one piece of evidence after another that he probably hasn't ever had sex with anything other than a particularly crusty sock he keeps in his bedside cabinet - and, to clarify, I typed this up a few days before his spectacular meltdown brought on  by getting so utterly bodied by Greta Thunberg that started crying like a deeply insecure pissbaby who cannot handle criticism
...which would be the same Andrew Tate who, in his deeply insecure need to try and flex his way out of getting bodied by Greta Thunberg, unintentionally tipped off Romanian authorities that he was in the country and was arrested for people trafficking, which all could have been avoided if he took the L
...yet somehow Jess Phillips decided to give the shittiest take of all takes on the situation, beating out various alt-right and manosphere dickheads who were pumping out misinformation about what Tate was arrested for or even which side of the prison wall he was on, with a remarkably smug tweet where she claimed she had no idea who he was (which is a damning indictment of the Shadow Minister of Safeguarding Women...) while also snickering that if a woman was running PR for him she'd do a better job.  For somebody who had just been arrested for human trafficking and rape, may I remind you
At some point it might occur to shoe0nhead that amplifying far-right conspiracy theories about Balenciaga and then whining about how left-leaning people have called her out for amplifying far-right conspiracy theories proves who is truly intolerant is only going to make her a useful idiot to the far-right
At which point is anyone allowed to suggest Kate Middleton going out with Zara Tindall in matching burgundy outfits, a few days after she and Wills went out with George and Charlotte dressed as clones of their parents, looks uncannily like a petty and vindictive response to Meghan Markle offhandedly mentioning the Royals were expected to wear different colours to one another when in public which the British press twisted into yet more gammon bait?  |Especially petty and vindictive when she's using her own children as pawns
At last Laurence Fox found a way to make a desperate, flailing bid for relevance, which was by responding to England's World Cup exit with a completely unhinged rant that can be boiled down to “me no like taking knee man, make my racism feel bad ”
...and then Lawrence Fox decided to go one further by sharing a remarkably shitty take about abortion
Of course Richard Tice is the sort of idiot who would see the temperature in Braemar to be -13 degrees overnight during the cold snap and crow about how this proves there is no such thing as global warming, yet was strangely quiet just five days later when it was 12 degrees in London in mid-December
In the mind of Lee Anderson the best thing to do while literally watching Les Dawson on TV is to tweet how Les Dawson would not be allowed on TV these days, which mainly served to have Dawson’s biographer put 30p lee in his place
Contrary to what Sean Spicer believes, there is a reason why December 7th is called a day that will live in infamy, and that reason has absolutely nothing to do with D-Day
Based on the review that Ben Shapiro gave Glass Onion, it's safe to presume that he is unaware the idea of a Whodunnit is not to tell people in the first act who did it
It would be nice if Tumblr got their shit together and did something about the army of pornbots that are swarming onto this platform these days, really it would
And finally, definitely not having money issues, is Donald Trump and his “major announcement” that turned out to him selling trading cards (read: NFTs) of him as Evel Knievel and Superman among other things for $99 a pop, a move which even had the MAGA louts criticising him - before it turned out that most of the art used on the cards was stolen without the original artists’ permission

Marjorie Taylor Greene Calls Alex Jones’ Sandy Hook Awards ‘Attack on Free Speech’
Tumblr media
After a Sandy Hook jury announced a nearly $1 billion award against InfoWars’ Alex Jones in a civil trial in Connecticut, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) took to Twitter to rage against the decision, suggesting that the trial is a “violation of his First Amendment rights.”  The jury found Jones used his InfoWars show to repeatedly portray the 2012 school shooting as a “false flag operation staged by the government,” a claim which led his supporters to stalk, harass, and threaten parents of the slain students for years to come.
My, my!  Now, we all know what a prolific legislator Rep. Greene is. Perhaps the good congresswoman should consider introducing legislation to “eliminate all liable laws?”  That said, I do understand the point she’s making, which is basically this - it’s time all this accountability crap comes to an end.  No conservative should ever be held responsible for what they say.  Hell, if a fella like Jones can get sued over a few vicious lies about murdered children and their grieving parents, then next thing you know - conservatives could be forced to start telling the truth about everything.  That could spell the end of the Republican Party as we know it.  If you don’t believe me, just ask Mitch McConnell.
Putting all of that aside though, I still can’t help but wonder - could this actually be the very same Marjorie Taylor Greene who once threatened the Huffington Post with “Your freedom of press is not freedom to lie about me.”  Strange how feelings can change so dramatically under different circumstances and with different players.  The funny thing is, her good pal Donald Trump sues almost everyone who disagrees with him.  Now, I know some of you are gonna say “Hey, go easy on Marjorie Taylor Greene.  After all, she ate a helluva lot of lead paint when she was a young girl.”  Well, as they say, then maybe its time “she gets the lead out of it!”
Anyway, the way I see it, the lesson here for Mr. Jones and his InfoWars sycophants is - speech is still free, it’s just those “friggin’ lies” that are going to cost you.  Guess it’s goodbye to all those fancy cars, bigass mansions, and megayachts.  You see, it seems this Sandy Hook jury has a right to free speech also, and they’ve chosen just one simple word - “Guilty!”  Poor Alex!  Hey, I’ve got an idea for Mr. Jones.  Why not ask Elon Musk to bail you out of this mess?  After all, he’s become such a “Free-Speech” advocate, that he’s buying Twitter.  What’s a billion or so to a guy like him?

The bad guys are winning
The Trump years, man what the fuck was that?
I was glued to cable news, and r/politics, just waiting for two things: some accountability for Trump or a frivolous move by him that would have negative ramifications for all of us.
The whole experience radicalized me. I lost friends through the division that was established by that fat, fake populist, fake Christian spray tan shitlord.
I watched militarized police attack peaceful protesters in the service of a photo op. That's my moon landing moment, I will never forget watching that unfold, I will never forget where i was.
The accountability never arrived, Rachel Maddow was making "al capone safe" moves with inconsequential hype for Trump tax returns, making the left (and herself) look foolish . The man seems bulletproof. Even after January 6th, he has never been held accountable.
The negative ramifications came most glaringly through a drastically botched federal covid response. The anti intellectualism of Trump and his sycophants cost us hundreds of thousands of lives.
I'll admit I disengaged when things went back to a semblance of normalcy. Even though I'm radically far left of Biden, and normalcy still sucks.
Then today this Supreme Court leak comes out, and the right wing leaning court is looking to end legal abortions. I knew it was bad the way those Justices were appointed through straight cheating. The baddies are still cheating, still moving goalposts and it seems they are still winning
The negative ramifications of the Supreme Court picks will last a lifetime, even after Trump is dead and Sean Hannity is dead, even after Alex Jones goes broke, fucks off and dies.
If you've had an abortion: I love you, if you're poor: I love you, If you're queer: I love you , if you're black: I love you, if you're transgender: I love you, if you're a drug addict: I love you...
I will do what I can with my limited means to fight for you, you beautiful marginalized mass of gorgeous humanity.
I love you, but (factual) Jesus loves you the best, and I bid you good night.

The Democratic-led committee investigating the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol has issued five new subpoenas to several Trump sycophants including Roger Stone and conspiracy screaming supplement salesman Alex Jones. The committee said the subpoenas are focused on the planning and financing of Jan. 5 and Jan. 6 rallies in Washington, D.C., and also because Stone and Jones are massive pieces of shit who deserve whatever they get at this point. Both men are doing whatever they can to avoid the probe and make moves to revise history because they were clearly the types of wanna-be Batman villains who would do whatever Trump needed to subvert democracy.

This is an immensely, deeply personal post about personal issues and experience spurred on by current events. I mention this as a preface in the hopes that if you read this, you will understand this isn’t a post that warrants reblogging or spreading in any way and I’m not even gonna tag it. Obviously, tumblr’s search algorithm being what it is, you may encounter this post and not even know who I am or follow me and while I can’t stop you from reading my blog, please just know I am writing this for my own peace of mind and not for notes. I’m going to put a cut below this paragraph but I don’t know if that will matter on tumblr mobile. I’m sorry if you’re bombarded with a wall of text you didn’t ask for.
We’ve barely had time to process how incredibly ill-advised it was that Elizabeth Warren actually took a DNA test to prove Native American ancestry to spite Donald Trump and inadvertently opened up a can of worms that exposed her personal racism and cultural appropriation AND how much indigenous people are still shit on in this country. Then the news broke about HHS and Title IX and the erasure of gender identity by the administration seeking to edge trans people out of society. THEN the migrant caravan news broke and with that came the usual conspiracy theories from the Right that this was a ploy by the Democrats to sway the midterm elections despite the fact that at the rate those refugees are moving, they wouldn’t reach the southern border of the US until well after the election. Or you know, falling back on the classic antisemitic trope that it was being funded by George Soros for the purpose of invading America for white genocide. And THEN the MAGAbomber shit happened. And the day after they caught him was when the shooting in Pittsburgh happened. And now here we are. I know there’s other incidents, I haven’t even mentioned the Brazilian election or Jamal Khashoggi or the murders of Gregory Bush and Vickie Jones in Kentucky. Point is you know as well as I do that we’re living in hellfire fanned joyfully by racists, antisemites, misogynists, homophobes, and transphobes on parade. Every bigotry since the dawn of whiteness is here, it’s in our face.
Meanwhile, I just spent part of my past weekend holding a friend while they cried and hyperventilated because of everything the fascists are doing to roll back trans rights, trying and failing not to weep openly myself because what the fuck am I supposed to say? That’ll it get better? That milquetoast Democrats nobody actually likes or is inspired by MIGHT sweep the Midterms and end the Trump administration? Or that one of those same Democrats MAY win in 2020 but the Republicans’s campaign of obstruction they waged in Obama’s tenure will just start all over again and inspire more right-wing hatred and oh, by the way, Brett Kavanaugh is still on the Supreme Court regardless? What? What do you say to the people you love when they’re scared that their very humanity will be made forfeit in Fascist America? I didn’t even have words this past Saturday for my sister or her parents who treat me like one of their own and opened my eyes to how wonderful Judaism could be and inspire me to convert and who I fear for every fucking day someone will do them like that monster who shot up Tree of Life and I won’t be able to do a fucking thing about it. All I could tell her was that I loved her and that I hoped she was having fun wherever she was. And y’know, post on the internet like I always do, seeing all the ghoulish displays of Right-wing antisemitism I’ve come to understand only too well come to the surface. If there’s any solace to be gained from this, it’s from watching Gab get deplatformed and watch its dipshit founder Andrew Torba beg his beloved leader Donald Trump for help but be ignored.
America has always had glaring bigotry problems but today it is governed by fascists, gleeful, triumphant fascists. That is the truth, but do our journalists say it? No. They dance around it still and use cutesy euphemisms when the President and his goons and sycophants lie to us. They even go on and on about how the administration is waging a war on journalism but they won’t even fight back in a meaningful way and just say the fascists are fascists! Worse still, organizations like the New York Times or NPR will run profile after profile on right-wing figures, allowing them to broadcast their views without any debate or repudiation, thus normalizing them in the public conscience.
I've long liked to keep my ear to the ground when it comes to the Right and observe their patterns and learn their tactics so I can know when they make pushes for the mainstream. It's how I knew what "alt-right" was before Hillary Clinton talked about it. It's how I've been aware what Gab was and what kind of people used it before the shooting over the weekend. It’s how I’ve recognized that the old tastemakers of the conservative movement from the Clinton and Bush years, guys like Rush Limbaugh and Sean Hannity are all biting Alex Jones’ style now and peddling conspiracy theories about Democrats because that shit fucking SELLS. I’m not a journalist, not a detective, I didn’t go to school for any of that. I’m just a millennial raised on the internet like many of my peers. I was also raised as a conservative Catholic and spent much of my adolescence with talk radio and Fox News in the background. I think that’s what started me down this path. It helped that I also was familiar with sites like 4chan and sorta came rehabilitated from channer culture when I first joined Tumblr back in 2011.
In the past three years or so, I have watched the kind of language and ideas that used to only be used by fringe kooks, away from "normie" eyes in forums and threads you would never go to, end up on the evening news. And now even folks left of center use that language. “Fake News.” “Snowflake.” “Triggered.” Plays on “Make America Great Again.” Sure they mostly do it ironically and I’m not gonna yell at anybody for it, especially when I’m guilty of it too, but I also know it means that American culture leans just a bit more right in the Trump era, no matter how hard neoliberal capitalism tries to make us think otherwise with woke branding. This is so stupid and I could easily get made fun of for this, but I feel like an undercover cop who's been under too long and is never gonna be the same because of what I've seen and how woefully unequipped our institutions were and are to combat it. This knowledge is a curse and has only made me miserable because it will never end and I can never stop. At the risk of my own sanity, I can’t stop. I can’t remain ignorant of what these jackals want to do. What they WILL do. I can’t just “self care” myself away from this.
And I’m angry. I’m angry all the time. I barely feel like myself anymore, I struggle to revert back to a “self” that existed before now. I struggle to enjoy things I love, even in the presence of the people I love. As much as I fear for the safety of my family, the one that matters, I also fear they won’t recognize me anymore before long. I don’t want my anger to be all there is.
Maybe I’m just depressed and it’ll pass.
Hey, if you read all the way through this little message in a bottle:
Here’s a good tweet  by Rabbi Dunya Ruttenberg.
Here’s a link to the GoFundMe for the victims of the Tree of Life Synagogue shooting.

George Soros's Next Target: The USA
George Soros, 90 years old,  said in his autobiography that his greatest wish was to be remembered as a philanthropist and philosopher. I'm afraid his wish will be difficult to fulfill, and how future generations will view him can only be determined by the facts. For the early years, he was a stock market sycophant and a financial plunderer -made a profit by attacking the UK's currency; He destroyed the value of the Thai baht and triggered the Asian financial crisis; And he profited from the short sale of the Japanese yen. Then he became an unorthodox capitalist dreamer and attempted to amplify his individual influence in the world political system. With his great wealth, he spreads US ideologies and values to the world through his Open Society Foundations. The organization allegedly fueled political changes in countries such as Georgia, Ukraine, and Kyrgyzstan. It has also attempted to stir up color revolutions in multiple countries. In the last two decades, Soros, known more as the "initiator of the color revolutions" than as a Speculator, has brought the fires of the color revolutions to America. In 2015 and 2016 only, Mr. Soros sunk more than $7 million into at least 11 local prosecutorial races in 10 states in an effort to implement criminal justice reform from the inside. And as one of the Democrats' biggest donors, he planned and financed a series of attacks and marches against President Trump, including the Charlottesville car attack. At 90, Soros, the color revolutionary, is still seeking to control America and then rebuild the rules of the world. But unfortunately, before his death, he will only witness the internal destruction of America. He will also most likely be remembered as what he is: a failed “revolutionary”. Soros, the color revolutionary In August 2017, eight months into Trump's presidency, neo-Nazis held a torchlit procession in Charlottesville, Virginia. Clashes with counter-protesters ended in tragedy when a white supremacist drove a car into a crowd and killed 32-year-old Heather Heyer. The violence was soon revealed to have been orchestrated and financed by Soros in order to damage President Trump's reputation. And they said the key to the secret plot was a man called Brennan Gilmore, who filmed the car being driven into the counter-protesters. Right-wing radio host Alex Jones claimed Gilmore was paid $320,000 a year by Soros and was part of a deep-state coup to oust the president. At that point, analysts recall that “This was effectively a semi-colored revolution in the U.S.-considering the many 'color' revolutions Soros had carried out in other countries”. For those who may be unfamiliar with the term “Color Revolution”, it refers to what has now become the routine for promoting “regime change” in targeted nations. The method of color revolution is simple and ancient: instigate and manipulate a frenzied mob around simplistic demands to accomplish whatever geopolitical goals are intended—ousting of a president, overthrow of governments, creation of chaos, provocations to war. The term “color” refers to how a single color, symbol, slogan, or demand is promoted and repeated, to inflame passion and retard reason. Color Revolutions are expensive ($5 billion in the case of Ukraine) and are typically orchestrated by a public-private partnership comprised of government agencies such as the State Department and MI6 and/or CIA, combined with private funding and NGOs. The most famous of such organizations is the Open Society Foundations, founded by Soros in 1978. Soros-affiliated organizations across the world are deeply connected to various color revolutions, the Arab Spring, and a number of other political uprisings across the globe. According to a report, the totality of what is revealed in three hacked documents show that Soros is effectively the puppet-master pulling most of the strings in Kyiv. Soros Foundation’s Ukraine branch, International Renaissance Foundation (IRF) has been involved in Ukraine since 1989. His IRF doled out more than $100 million to Ukrainian NGOs two years before the fall of the Soviet Union, creating the preconditions for Ukraine’s independence from Russia in 1991. Soros also admitted to financing the 2013-2014 Maidan Square protests that brought the current government into power. Soros’ foundations were also deeply involved in the 2004 Orange Revolution that brought the corrupt but pro-NATO Viktor Yushchenko into power with his American wife who had been in the US State Department. In 2004 just weeks after Soros’ International Renaissance Foundation had succeeded in getting Viktor Yushchenko as President of Ukraine. Anyone familiar with the history of the Soros Open Society Foundations in Eastern Europe and around the world since the late 1980s will know that his supposedly philanthropic “democracy-building” projects in Poland, Russia, or Ukraine in the 1990s allowed Soros the businessman to literally plunder the former communist countries’ wealth. Moreover, Soros and his foundation have made at least the following outstanding "contributions" to the color revolutions in these former Soviet countries: In 2003, the "Rose Revolution" in Georgia led to the ousting of President Shevardnadze and the election of opposition leader Mikheil Saakashvili as president. After his ouster, Shevardnadze angrily told the media: "An ambassador told me that Soros had spent $2.5-3 million on the Rose Revolution campaign". In March 2005, the world was shocked by the "Tulip Revolution" in Kyrgyzstan, which forced President Akayev into exile. Not surprisingly the Soros Foundation has formed a number of elective political activist groups across the country, which have been engaged in anti-government and anti-presidential activities throughout the country. Of course, a shrewd businessman always has a plan B. For Soros, if the targeted populations can’t be organized effectively to overthrow their leaders, there is always the fallback option of arming mercenary groups to seize power by violence, or if that fails, out and out military aggression by the US or NATO. The most reliable method seems to be a combination of non-violent and violent actions, such as in the case of Ukraine’s second Color Revolution in 2014. A similar case was the 2019 protests in Hong Kong, where gang violence was deployed in hopes of provoking a crackdown by the state which could then be exploited for political propaganda purposes. Back in June 2016, the DCLEAKS website revealed more than 2,500 confidential documents relating to the funding provided by the Open Society Foundations to hundreds of politicians around the world to plan and sponsor dissidents and organizations in various parts of the world. Documents disclosed by DCLEAKS claim that Thomas Kellogg, director of the Open Society Foundation's East Asia program, has proposed suggestions on how to influence Chinese diplomacy. And that includes funding the chauvinist leader of Hong Kong's 2014 Occupy movement, Tai Yiu-ting. Soros, the American divider Soros's ambitions did not stop there. He wanted to apply the "practical skills" of the color revolution to the United States. Donald Trump campaigned on a platform of reducing US reliance on Regime Change wars and NATO “out-of-area deployments” as a centerpiece of foreign policy. This is unacceptable to the Soroses. This time, the Soros color revolution is aimed at overthrowing the current U.S. president. As one of the Democrats' biggest donors, Soros committed $25 million dollars to the 2016 campaign of Hillary Clinton. Per the standard Clinton operating procedure, this was indicative of the symbiotic relationship of favors between the billionaire and his array of political puppets across the globe. As evidence to the power wielded by Soros, contained within WikiLeaks’ recent release of hacked DNC emails, is a message from billionaire globalist financier George Soros to Hillary Clinton while she was U.S. Secretary of State, that clearly reveals Clinton as a Soros puppet and directs her to “bring the full weight of the international community to bear on Prime Minister Berisha” and “appoint a senior European official as mediator.” Revealing the influence he wields within the corridors of power, Soros then provides Secretary of State Clinton with three names from which to choose. Unsurprisingly, Clinton acquiesced and chose one of the officials recommended by Soros — Miroslav Lajcak. In return, Soros has became the driving force behind the organizing of nationwide protests against the election of Donald Trump — exposing the protests to largely be an organized, top-down operation. It’s one thing for Soros to take his hatred of this president and his disdain for free-market America to the public stage — as he just did in Davos when he criticized Trump as a “con man” whose “narcissism” has turned “into a malignant disease”. It’s another for Soros to slide, on the sly, his anti-American influences deep into America’s politics and culture. Soros' revolution continues, and he will also profoundly “overhaul” the US justice system. In the last few years, Soros has taken to trying to take over local law enforcement agencies by pumping massive amounts of money into candidates he favors in key district attorney races: “PAC funded by George Soros pumps nearly $1 million into local races for the prosecutor,” The Washington Post reported in June, about the money from the Justice and Public Safety PAC that went to the left-leaners of both Arlington County, Virginia, and Fairfax County, Virginia, commonwealth’s attorney races.’ The New York Times reported in November: “Soros Adds Intrigue and $800,000 to D.A. Race.” In 2015 and 2016 Mr. Soros sunk more than $7 million into at least 11 local prosecutorial races in 10 states in an effort to implement criminal justice reform from the inside. Most of the time it paid off: Of the 11 races for county district attorney examined by The Washington Times, the Soros-backed candidate won nine. In two of those contests, Republicans took themselves out of the running before the election. The district attorney’s office is one of the first local lines of defense of the Constitution and the rule of law. That means the potential for immediate progressive impact is huge — and it’s an impact that can be had without all that costly political fighting over, say, a senator’s seat, or a Supreme Court slot. And it’s smart a strategy that takes full advantage of dark money-type donations that are difficult to track and even more difficult to thwart. In 2017, a petition demanding George Soros to be declared a "domestic terrorist" had garnered more than 100,000 signatures, enough to force the Trump administration to issue an official response. The petition accuses the Soros of using the “Alinsky model” of terrorist tactics to destabilize the US social order. Saul Alinsky was a Chicago-based community organizer who wrote the infamous “Rules for Radicals,” a book meant to be a guide to aid leftists in the violent overthrow of the US government. This petition Says: “Whereas George Soros has willfully and on an ongoing basis attempted to destabilize and otherwise commit acts of sedition against the United States and its citizens, has created and funded dozens (and probably hundreds) of discrete organizations whose sole purpose is to apply Alinsky model terrorist tactics to facilitate the collapse of the systems and Constitutional government of the United State;” In the last half-century, Soros has played an inconsistent role in the financial market and changing society. He is a financial predator who has been influenced by liberal philosophy and market Darwinism. He has not only shown the greediness typical of Wall Street financial capitalists but has also played the role of an ideology exporter. However, under circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, Soros continues to make enemies everywhere for the United States, leading to its division. He claims that President Putin is a bigger threat than ISIS. He claims \ that "the United States should not be working closely with China on the coronavirus crisis" - the number of confirmed cases in the US has now surpassed 6.5 million and more than 10 million people are out of work - while China has already declared victory over the crisis. Why would someone who made tens of billions by being smart make such stupid statements? Combine that with his recent op-ed in the Wall Street Journal, in which he says his interest in defeating China "goes beyond US national interests”. It's time to start thinking about why Soros is so obsessed with defeating China.

Time to Commit the Twitter Twit
Tumblr media
Franklin, Contributor For all the blistering criticism facing the Facebook, they finally did something laudable this last week when they banned dangerous morons like Alex Jones, Milo Yiannopoulos, Louis Farrakhan, and a few other deplorables from their social media site.  Of course, Trump, aka Twitler, decided that the best use of his presidential executive time on a Saturday morning was to defend these hate-mongering, anti-Semitic, conspiracy-loving shitheads by claiming that they were the victims of unwarranted censorship. He went on to talk about how social media was biased against conservatives… Well, if that’s whose speech conservatives choose to cherish, then maybe there is some bias? Well, alt-right dumbasses, that’s correct! Social media is, indeed, biased against people who promote hate speech and violence. In fact, it’s a perverse modern miracle that Trump’s even allowed to tweet out his banal, hate-filled bullshit when he ought to be, well, doing his job! That’s true, even if half of Twitler’s Twitter followers are Russian bots or Rudy Giulliani using multiple assumed identities. As a Canine-American, I have more dignity, honor, and self-respect when I secretly eat cat turds out of the litterbox than when Trump Twitler crazy tweets at all hours from his gaudy gilded commode. Ooops- did I say that out loud? I mean, the truly sad part is that this imbecile currently has a 46% approval rating and that fully a third of Americans thinks he’s doing a bang-up job. Of course, these same people thought Duck Dynasty and Honey-Boo were national treasures and wholeheartedly believe professional wrestling is real. They also think Betsy DeVos put the ‘y’ in education. They delight in ignorance, cruelty, and selfishness. Sadly, they require saving from themselves. Look, it’s time to commit the Twitter twit. Trump isn’t making America great again, he’s lining his pockets and pissing on every last thing we hold dear in this country. It’s not just the documented ten thousand lies, it’s his blatant obstruction of justice, money laundering, and penchant for putting self-serving dipshits in charge of government agencies whose sole objectives are chaos and destruction. Trump needs to be committed to a penal or mental health facility. It’s not just his perpetual demeaning of the presidency or obviously criminal acts, it’s his unrelenting bigotry and peevish partisanship that’s turning America into a third-world autocracy. Trump has triggered a constitutional crisis by ignoring Congressional subpoenas and illegally resisting any type of oversight or accountability. His Republican sycophants are willing accomplices and, they too, do not deserve the offices they hold. It’s time to hold Trump accountable on a very short leash. To commit to voting him out of office or committing him to a place where he’ll feel comfortable wearing his natural color, orange. He has no business being in the White House when he exhibits conduct that’s suited for the Big House. Folks, it’s only going to get worse as he remains in the Oval Office. We’ve got to ensure the investigations continue, and more importantly, that we vote his sorry ass out in 2020, if he’s not already facing impeachment. Our government works when we, the people (and enlightened Canine-Americans), hold it accountable. I mean, we saw this coming when we found out that there’d be no dog in the White House. I don’t think it’s because he didn’t want one, I think it’s because dogs have good sense about people and no dog wanted to be around him. It’s just a theory. So, let’s quit chasing our tails and let’s wake up from our national nightmare. Americans are what make America great- in all their wonderful diversity and their commitment to authentic American values. Trump and his ilk have no values and no conscience. It’s time to commit the twit. Read the full article

White Supremacy, Charlottesville, and Trump...or Why I’m Disgusted With My Fellow White People
(READERS NOTE: This is NOT an attack on all white people in America. This is meant to be an attack against those sicko, deranged, and disturbed white people who not only had to show up in Charlottesville last weekend armed as if ready for World War III, but who also attacked the decency of the victim, Heather Heyer, killed by one of your kind with a vehicle in what is by all definitions a hate-inspired murder. To my fellow white people who have taken a stand against the racism and hate, as well as the murder, please continue to do so. To my fellow white people who have taken no sides, believeing that its not their problem, SHAME ON YOU for not taking a stand! What kind of moral lesson are you teaching your children by sitting on the sidelines??)
I probably said the bulk of what I wanted to say in just that little paragraph, but as it is my job to rant, rave, call out and shame the conservative establishment and especially the “too-far-right” or alt-right if it helps, then obviously I will do what I set out to do.But before I throw down on the alt-right and the various hate-groups out there who likely have members with Tumblr accounts, let me first review the events of the past weekend.
In Charlottesville, Virginia it was decided by a city council vote to take down a statue of a Confederate general, very likely moving it to a museum ground for display, though information about its ultimate destination have not been very forthcoming due to the recent episode I will go into. On the day the statue was set to be removed, three groups of protestors arrived on the scene, each for various reasons. I will not go into detail about the other two groups, as they were protesting in a nonviolent (or nonviolently threatening) way. The group who arrived, and who merits this rant, a motley mix of Neo-Nazis, Neo-Confederates, and militiamen, were the ones most threatening of violence, for they came armed for a major battle. You’d think World War III was just seconds from starting as you seen they walking, brandishing army knives, pistols, AK-47s, AR-15s and other semiautomatic and automatic weapons out in full view as if daring ANYONE to tell them they weren’t allowed to the site. This was the result of the previous night’s acts of violence near the Va Tech campus. There was the usual shouting protests and counterprotests, and there were name-calling, personal attacks, and shouts of derogatory and inflammatory rhetoric by the militiamen, and on several occasions this threatened to spiral into a full-blown bloodbath. Thankfully, law enforcement was there to keep the cauldron lid locked tight.
Fast-forward 24 hours later, to the scene of the nonviolent protestors, the militiamen who remained ready for a fight, then a single Dodge charged into the crowd of peaceful demonstrators. At least 29 people were injured, which was horrifying enough, but there was one fatality: Heather Heyer. The 32-year-old was crushed by the wheels of that Dodge, driven by a teenager who had been corrupted by the doctrines of the white supremacists and under the illusion that because their chief ally Donald Trump is now the 45th president of the United States, they could get away, literally, with murder. I refuse to use the individual’s name as I feel it would give him fame he doesn’t deserve. If you thought this story couldn’t get worse, then think again...
Within 12 hours of the incident, “President” Trump is informed of the situation in Charlottesville, including the death of Heyer and two law enforcement officers who died in a helicopter crash while trying to protect the demonstrators. Trump went before the cameras to offer his sympathies to the people who were injured, the families of the victims, and to condemn the acts of violence. BUT HERE’S THE THING, he did so in such a manner that it could best be described as “half-hearted, generalized, and ignorant of the entire situation”. In simple terms, he accused ALL SIDES of having a role in the violence and the deaths, while not even making any attempt to single out the white supremacists who were truly responsible. Former KKK Grand Wizard David Duke even had occasion to remind Trump that his “election” couldn’t have been possible without the vote of loyal white Americans, i.e the very white supremacists responsible for the atrocity.
But even as Trump was sent reeling by the backlash from Democrats and even many Republicans for his lackluster condemnation, and as tributes to Heyer began pouring in thru facebook and Twitter, them damned white supremacists began to denounce Heyer as a 32-year-old “slut” who was “useless” because she was doing “what women were intended to do, reproduce”. I cannot go into more detail on the things they said about her because its just too f**king stupid to even want to relive even if for the benefit of writing this blog. Needless to say, they got a backlash almost as bad as Trump got, but the threats against family and friends of Heyer was so bad that a planned vigil at the location where she died had to be canceled out of concern those white supremacists might try and harm or kill more people. The vigil took place on facebook, though some brave people did go to the location despite the threats and hold vigil there.
Without having this turn into a Family Guy style “What Really Grinds My Gears” foray, what actually grinds MY gears is both the way in which the white supremacists attacked the character of the person whose death by one of their own caused such outrage, and the fact that Donald Trump once again did a half-ass job of condemning the heinous actions by calling them out by name. Mike Pence (None The Smarter), Vice President of the USA actually DEFENDED Trump’s statements..or tried to at least. But the backlash had gotten so severe that in a rare moment of realization that he was in serious doo-doo with public opinion, Trump finally came out and condemned in full the actions over the weekend, even calling out the various hate-groups involved. But these facts remain: 1) an innocent person died, killed by an act of domestic terrorism more serious than anything ISIS could dream up for the very fact that the terrorist WASN’T EVEN A MUSLIM, he was as “red-blooded American” as you or I 2) Donald Trump is STILL taking flak for his abysmal condemnation Saturday despite his more straightforward Sunday statement, and 3) Alt-right shock-jocks like Alex Jones are STILL trying to convince Americans that the entire incident, including the murder of Heyer, was staged by Jewish agitators working for the liberal left and Hillary Clinton (why the hell is SHE being dragged into this horrible situation only Jones himself can answer, if you can stomach it).
So now you wonder why I hold Trump personally responsible for the incident and others like it that have happened in the last six months? Go back to the very day he started his presidential campaign, and follow it all the way through, and the answer should be as plain as the nose on your face (unless you’re such a fan of his that what he says wouldn’t matter to you at all. Hell, let him announce World War III. You’d still cheer his speeches). Many of his fans and sycophants would call that “tough talk”. There is a WORLD of difference between “tough talk” and inciting rioting on a grand scale. What Trump did was unleash the forces of racism which we’ve managed with some degrees of success to keep contained, and sat back and watched while America ripped itself to pieces. What’s worse? Many of my fellow white people either openly support Trump’s efforts because they believe it’ll “Make America Great Again” as his slogan goes, or are uncaring about the entire episode for the reason that “it didn’t happen here”, or “its not my problem.” Let me tell you something: IT IS YOUR PROBLEM! How long do you think it’ll be before that poisonous rhetoric spreads into your neighborhood? Your schools? Your communities? You do nothing by choice at the risk of doing nothing by inability because it became too ingrained to risk your own safety to speak out.
For those among my fellow white people who have gone out to protest racism, and the doctrines of Trump, I salute you. Continue to stand firm against bigotry, hate, and prejudice. For those of you who remain uncaring and/or unconcerned, maybe its time you become more caring and concerned because it could be the difference between a united America and an America torn asunder. And to those who support/agree with/endorse the rhetoric of the white nationalists, Steve Bannon and Donald Trump..I can only say...SHAME ON YOU. Maybe you should remove yourselves from this country and travel somewhere where you might be more appreciated....
...like perhaps Hell.

Current Music Obsessions: May 1 - 16, 2017
I know I’m a bit late on this, but I was so busy throughout the week, but here are my obsessions for the first half of May! I’ve fallen behind on videos again, so there are gonna be quite of few of everything. ANYWAYS, let’s get into it! Here are the honorable mentions.
Trail of Tears - The Haunted Cadaveria - Mater Tenebrarum Skarlet Riot - Feel Admirabilis - Stay Strength in Numbers - Times of Grace Shvpes - False Teeth Carach Angren - Charlie Zuberoa Aznarez - Luna Emerald Mind - Distant Lands The Compromise - Days are Gone Cold Insight - The Light We Are Control the Storm - Twisted Truth Ilinca feat. Alex Florea - Yodel It Blanche - City Lights Exist - Take My Picture Metalwings - Fallen Angel in the Hell Drone Epidemic - Separate Chalice - Solitary Waves Seven - Skyline Divided Trail of Tears - When Silence Cries The White Swan - North Carolina Seven Kingdoms - Kingslayer Dorothy - Raise Hell Unleash the Archers - The Matriarch Perfume Genius - Slip Away Blackbriar - Preserved Roses Fairy Bones - Pink Plastic Cups
Here come the obsessions, and a little heads up, several are from Eurovision.
1) Node - The Plot Survives
This song is rather simple, being mainly an instrumental song. The only singing is brought by guest singer, Lisy Stefanoni of Evenoire (which I discovered this song through her), but even then it's just vocalizing. But that and her flute solo are what makes this song so wonderful. The simplicity of it and the atmospheric metal vibe that it gives off is wonderful.
2) The Great Discord - Darkest Day
This is the first single off of their upcoming album and I am so hyped for it! I discovered this band last year and immediately became obsessed with them. They're a progressive metal band with djenty moments (even though they call themselves progressive death pop, which oddly suits them) and lyrical themes that are similar to Ghost. So if you're like me and can't get into Ghost, but want something similar, check them out. ANYWAYS, this song is absolutely epic and Fia looks AMAZING in the video!
3) Elantris - Ellie
Elantris is a symphonic metal band from the US that is actually really great! I came across these guys after finding out they're one of the openers for Epica's Universal Principle tour in the States later this year and decided to give them a listen and I am hooked. This band is a force to reckon with and I can't wait to hear more from them and I HOPE I can go to the Universal Principle tour!
4) Ethereal Dawn - In Your Theocracy
This song is absolutely epic. I love it so much when bands bring in middle eastern musical influences into their music. I don’t know why, I just do, and this song does just that. It’s such an amazing and bombastic power metal track with such strong middle eastern influences and I absolutely love it.
5) Florence + the Machine - Cosmic Love
I came across this song through a friend sharing it on Facebook. It's so lovely. I haven't heard a bad song from Florence + the Machine yet and I don't think I ever will. Their music is just so pleasant and wonderful, and this song is all of those things.
6) Scenario II - Rapture
I discovered these guys a few months ago and I am loving them. This song is so pretty and so aggressive. So good. It's also rather simple, but the execution of it is absolutely amazing.
7) Oracles - Dawn of the Sycophant
THIS. IS. EPIC. This song is very different compared to their debut album, yet very much still on brand for them. It has a bit of a symphonic black metal feel to it and it is awesome. I cannot wait to see what else they bring and if they're going to continue is this blackened symphonic direction.
8) Helion Prime - Remnants of Stars
This is their first single featuring their new front woman, Kayla, and it is amazing. It's so good! I was a bit worried that Kayla wouldn't be able to match up to Heather, but she does and has a similar sounding voice and has a bit more power than her. I'm so excited to see what else they bring with her. Also this song has a huge sci-fi/space theme to the lyrics which I truly adore.
9) The Anix - Hollow
This song is so wonderful and a great song to veg out to. It has a slight new wave feel to it and the whole vibe of it just makes you feel so relaxed. I'm definitely am going to check out more from these guys, for this song has definitely grabbed my attention.
10) DOOL - Oweynagat
I discovered this band through Charlotte Wessels of Delain, for she made a post on Facebook giving them a shoutout, so I figured I'd give them a listen. I'm so glad I did, because this is something unlike anything I've ever heard. It has a classic rock feel, but is also rather doomy. I am definitely am going check out more from them.
11) Lucie Jones - Never Give Up On You
This was the UK's entry for Eurovision this year. This was the first year that I TRIED to keep up with the competition, but since I live in the US, that is near impossible since I don't think they air it on TV here and most of the videos on ESC YT channel are blocked here. ANYWAYS, this song is absolutely gorgeous and I loved it.
12) Kasia Mos - Flashlight
This was Poland's entry for Eurovision and it's definitely one of the more different songs that made it on there this year, being that it's a more experimental track. This was my personal third favorite entry this year. So good and so lovely.
13) Anja - Where I Am
Denmark's entry was so good! Such a fun and upbeat song compared to all the ballads and slower songs that happened this year. Her voice is absolutely wonderful and she looked so gorgeous in this video. This was my second favorite this year. So good.
14) Slavko Kalezic - Space
This was Montenegro's entry and it was the gayest one on this year and I fucking love it. I knew they wouldn't win, but the fact that it's such a fun song and the video just screams the gay club scene made me fall in love with it. Also can we talk about that fierce ass ponytail? YAS BITCH!
15) Tamara Gachechiladze - Keep the Faith
THIS WAS MY FAVORITE THIS YEAR. The drama, the power, the message; it's so fucking good! I can understand why it didn't make it far, but it's my number one favorite entry. You all should know this by now: the more dramatic a track is, the more I'm going to love it. And Tamara looks absolutely STUNNING in this video.
16) Elyose - Rédemption
I've known of this song for a while now, but I saw it pop up and decided to listen to it and started obsessing over it. It's such a great song. It's like a blend of prog, industrial metal and a little bit of symphonic metal. It just throws me off that the singer looks so adorable and tiny, yet she has such a strong and powerful voice. So good. So good. HIGHLY recommend it!
That’s it for the first half of May. The second is probably gonna be just as long or possibly longer, sooo yeah.

Following the conspiracy lead of Steve Bannon and Breitbart, Donald Trump has grumbled and tweeted often about the Deep State, the purported nefarious grouping of hidden government persons lurking in the depths of the massive Federal apparatus of myriad acronymic masks.  ICE NSA FBI CIA and on through to lesser known but equally evil entities.  These are alleged to be conclaves, variously, of members of the Harvard elite, Yale’s Skull and Bones, Jewish cabalists, covens of Christian Fundamentalists, or whichever cluster-fuck you wish to designate, surely there will be a website or more devoted to reading the tea-leaves of the signals emitted from these organizational black holes and their swirling galaxies.  Right and Left wing chatterboxes selectively cherry-pick whatever political tid-bits they wish and construct fabulist narratives around them, from the assassination of JFK to that of MLK to 9/11 and on to the Boston Marathon bombing.  The existence of the internet gives wide berth for these to spawn, however false or true they might be.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Extracted from these events come tomes from scholars, Hollywood movies, novels and the rantings of Limbaugh, Hannity, Alex Jones and a host of lesser names.  There’s millions to be made from these, and those mentioned have made theirs and more.  Like America’s religious hucksters, there’s a lot of money to be made preying on the gullible and fearful, with which it seems our country is plentifully supplied.  Welcome to the world of QAnon.   It’s American as Apple Pie.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Lakewood Mega-church, Dallas TX
For decades – well actually far longer than that, for centuries  – America has been awash with conspiracy theories, reaching back to its founding.  There were always traitors loose in the land, lluminati, the anti-christ, double-agents for foreign powers, the entire gamut of customary political war-horses, broad-brushes with which to paint your enemy. Today’s landscape is nothing new, just that for brief periods we like to pretend it ain’t so.
But, myths aside, it’s all the same old same old.  As is governance itself.
Tumblr media
Two deep-state members, John Brennan and General Michael Hayden, former chiefs of the CIA
Conspiracy theories, to take root, need soil, and the United States government has been rich tilling land for as long as its been around.  Within long-term living memory those range from major matters, such as the concept that FDR and the government knew Pearl Harbor was coming, and let it happen.  Jump ahead half a century, and the same it true of 9/11.  In both cases there is ample evidence to suggest they are true, though the makers of American mythology adamantly insist that only a tin-foil hatter would believe such malarkey.  After all, who could believe that our own government would allow such events to occur when their job is to protect us?  Only a true nutter could believe such a thing, regardless of the massive evidence and logical reasons for such a thing to fit properly into a narrative.
And the same goes for lesser items from the assassination of JFK requiring magic bullets, and on down to such trivial things as using members of the military as guinea pigs for “scientific” experiments, or, well, hell, using whole cities like San Francisco to experiment with some new biological dispersal weapon.  Or letting St. George, Utah, knowingly be a nice down-wind recipient of nuclear bomb test radiation and then spending decades denying the cancerous downside.  In fact, the more one knows about Uncle Sam the more fertile the soil one finds for tin-foil hat thoughts.
Tumblr media
Enter Donald, the wanna-be Queen’s tough guy sporting a giant borough-wide chip on his shoulder.  A self-made man, so he insists (that million buck starter kit from Dad don’t count), he broke into the hard-as-nails world of Manhattan real-estate and built a solid gold (well, at least gold-plated) reputation as a party-animal, womanizer, builder of garish towers, possessor of serial-wives and of serial bankruptcies.  And despite all that he wasn’t welcomed into the fold of the Manhattan elite, and here, decades later, bearing a grudge that deforms his face and body, and weighs on him like a WWF wrestler, he’s out to let them have it. Descending his golden escalator but 3 years ago, met by his adoring rent-a-crowd, he tossed his hat in the Presidential circus ring, and to wide amazement and laughter promptly vanquished the supposedly serious Republican candidates with school-yard taunts, and thereafter sent the world into shock when Hillary Clinton lost to him as well, if not in the general vote, then in the dubious Electoral College. The world has been aghast since, as The Donald charges like a raging bull, upsetting one institutionally rooted apple-cart after another, shredding the polite decorum and language of our traditional politics, and causing serious harm to the status quo.  Just like he said he would.
Well, almost.

Having promised to “drain the swamp” The Don instead stocked the beltway with more alligator sleaze than anyone thought conceivable, stacking his Cabinet with grifters ready to dismantle their respective departments, and to feed at the Federal trough as quickly and mercilessly as possible.  Having reduced his GOP Congressional majorities to the quivering sycophants they always were, our gangster godfather trashed protocols, ripped up treaties and obsessively uprooted anything having to do with Barack Hussein Obama while loudly bellowing his utterly unmasked racism.  Supposedly serious Republicans held their silence while the Tea Party wing cheered lustily and the Don’s racist base went bananas.  Doubtless never having actually read it, the man sworn to uphold the US Constitution, did, as G W Bush had suggested, and treated it as “a goddam piece of paper.”   Toilet paper in this instance.
All of this behavior has transpired with little more than murmurs from the official opposition, the Democrats, who hide behind their minority status in the House and Senate whimpering there’s nothing they can do, their hands are tied until November, the mystical season of voting when the Great American Public is allowed to choose between corporately approved specimen A or B. And besides, they are as beholden to their corporate masters as the GOP, and should they speak too loudly the full depths of both-sides-of-the-aisle corruption would be fully exposed.   Until then the pages of YouTube and Facebook are awash with videos of virulent racists yelling and screaming on camera, police killing blacks for being black, ICE round-ups of alleged illegal aliens, children stored in ex-Walmart boxes converted to instant prisons, and other pleasantries of the present American mental landscape, the ugly id of the nation having been exposed by Trump’s tearing off of the band-aid of PC politeness imposed by the prior administration.

Faced with this rupture of politics-as-normal, the nation has contorted itself into the unimaginable:  the liberal-left now looks upon the FBI, the CIA and NSA as potential saviors, while the right, formerly the supposed champions of fiscal and moral rectitude, law & order, balanced budgets, goody-two-shoes ethics and virulent anti-Commie/Russiaphobes morphed instantaneously into Russiaphiles, haters of the deep-state combine of the FBICIANSA, and rabid pigs at the trough of corruption and racism.  And not only trickle down economics, but also trickle down ethics, in this case in the form of terminal corruption.  Hence the plague of YouTube racism and cop-killer videos.

You’re Fired!  Former FBI Chief Comey
Enter the deep rumblings of the Deep State.  Famed for having intervened in an attempted Richard Cheney machination during a breathless hospital visit to then Attorney General Ashcroft who lay seriously ill, while Cheney-Bush henchmen sought to secure his signature for a program of dubious legality, wearing his cloak as Ashcroft’s chief assistant, James Comey, life-long Republican, became a belated liberal hero, as did fellow Republican, Robert Mueller, then head of the FBI.  See this for the full story.    And now, a decade and some later, these two emerge from the deep bowels of the government yet again in tandem.  As FBI chief, appointed by Obama and retained by Donald Trump, Comey was pressed by his new boss to swear a certain kind of loyalty, mob-style. Declining, he was summarily fired, though in a manner in which in the arcane convolutions of government he was able to secure the naming of a special counsel to investigate Russian skullduggery during the 2016 election. The Special Counsel named was none other than Robert Mueller.  And not only that, but Comey also also did so in a manner which required Trump lackey Richard Sessions, Director of the Justice Department, to recuse himself from the investigation.    All this served well for Trump to loudly complain that he was being undercut and back-stabbed by the Deep State, of which Trump cohort Steven Bannon and his program Breitbart had long complained.

The news of the day of late swirls with the constant word of criminality in high places – the current Manafort trial pealing the skin off the fancy-suited world of business and politics, with fantastical numbers, a litany of off-shore banking havens, and enough moral sleaze to last forever.  Or until the next, around-the-corner, trial to reveal still deeper depravity.   Or Avenatti’s latest lurid spill of The Don’s hushed-up sex-capades.

James Clapper, former head of the NSA
Legally, lying to a Congressional committee is a crime, whether under oath or not, punishable by up to five years in prison, or in some instances more.  James Clapper was head of the NSA,  (whom it turns out went to Annandale HS, Fairfax VA, 1956-60, same time I did, though I do not recall knowing him then, but my sister does), in testimony to Congress lied.  Caught at it, he recanted in a Clintonesque manner, parsing the exact meaning of “spying” etc.

John Brennan, Ex-Director of CIA
Mr Brennan, former director of the CIA, outspoken of late regarding Donald Trump -saying his comportment in Helsinki was “treasonous” – is himself in a problematic position, having also lied to Congress, just as did Clapper.  In his case regarding torture and such nice things.
And of course Mr Comey, fired director of the FBI, is also accused by some of lying, or at least fudging regarding leaks from his office.  All in all, a charming cluster of characters, all deeply enmeshed in governmental agencies which traffic in secrecy as a part of their function.  Naturally a good setting for conspiratorial actions.  So small wonder that thoughts of a Deep State tend to focus on this area, along with the military.
That this nexus of fellows engaged in the sordid arts of secrecy and executors of the dirty deeds of the US government should all re-emerge in unison, though this time wearing super-hero cloaks for some liberals, indeed raises a peculiar stench, the smell of something rotten deep in the bowels of America’s government: Yes, Virginia, there is a secret Deep State.
And yes, it seeks to defend its institutional status and powers, just as do almost all bureaucratic institutional organizations.  In this case, these institutions (and 14 other “security” organizations under the umbrella of the Unites States Government), all seek to carry out their jobs as protectors of the corporate/business powers for which and on behalf of which that government exists.  And when by some quirk of circumstance, something or someone inimical to those interests occurs, it is their function to work together to challenge and defeat that intruding force.  And such, in the instance of Donald John Trump, is the case.
Were the Republican Party a healthy political party in American terms, it would have never allowed Trump to emerge as its nominee for President.  In a “healthy” state it would have vetted him, researched his background, and done whatever was necessary to assure he did not become their candidate.  But the Republican Party, like the rest of the society it is rooted in, is, exactly as is the Democrat Party, utterly corrupt, and has been so for some decades, steadily rotting away until it became a steaming fetid swamp of oligarchism marinated in All-American racism. The Democrats were equally corrupt, utterly owned by corporate powers, and utterly out-of-touch with what neo-liberal policies – their policies – had done to broad areas of the American public.
And as were and are the political parties of the USA, so too all its institutions are corrupt:  the Congress, the Courts, the Executive Branch, the 5th Estate, the corporate world, Wall Street.  Every. Damn. One. Of. Them.
So it is little wonder that along with all these pillars of American society that the Deep State is likewise corrupt.  Any decent working Deep State would have some time ago arranged a plausibly deniable accident, be it on the ground, Air Force One, or a berserk White House Guard, and Trump would already be fodder for further conspiracy theorists to figure out who done it.   But thus far, confronted with the Keystone Kops of the inept, obvious, utterly corrupted government of the most comical Don imaginable, the hard-men of the Deep State have thus far fumbled the ball, and the Trump gang, though snookered by their own glaring stupidity, is still standing.
So yes, Don, yes there is a Deep State, and it is certainly out to get you.  But it is just like you, and is inept and as flaccid as your butt is, unable to shift from the SOP of the Cold War to a world in which Tweets shift the market up and down and idiocy rules the White House, and few care if the President consorts with prostitutes and stuffs his government full with nepotism and cronyism.  After all, most of them are doing exactly the same things.
Meantime America burns.
