the first ones that come to mind are they both die at the end, addie la rue, and the midnight library! I dont necessarily hate them, I just found myself generally left a bit disappointed by them and/or had issues with how they played out. I also havent read any colleen hoover books but I feel like they would end up here, from what I’ve heard about them..!

Cedric and Axel are as different as night and day. Yet, they somehow became friends, a fact Cedric isn't unhappy about. But when Axel starts flirting with him, things become complicated. And between contracts and the everyday trouble that is Dyn Marv, Cedric doesn't need any more complications.

Hey folks! There are two things you have to know. One, Cedric and Axel became very dear to me although canonically, they're nothing more than names on a note. Second, there are way too little fics about them. So, I decided to be the change I want to see in the world ;) This one started as a 5+1 fic until suddenly, it got a life of its own. The first five chapters can still be read as stand-alones, the later ones are connected. I'll update weekly on Saturdays at 7 pm CET. The lovely @akhuna outdid herself once more betareading the whole thing. If you like the story, I'd be beyond the moon if you'd leave a kudos or a comment. Thank you! And now, let the party begin!

Huh, seems like there are mental health bots here in tumblr as well. I was randomly looking some more negative mental health tags and suddenly there is a message! Ah, just a bot, but wait, this bot seems different somehow. At least it is honest about being a bot. I was still quite suspicious, but seemed like a real thing, at least that is what google told. Hopefully those kinds of things will actually be some help for somebody

4. what flower would you like to be given?

Hmmmm... tough question. Because my favourites are all wild flowers but I don’t want people to pick flowers from the wild for me :(

14. favourite feel-good show?

I don’t know if I have a favourite feel good show, but when I’m down I love to watch Howl’s Moving castle. I’m a sucker for growth and happy endings.

21. if you could tell your past self one thing, what would it be?

It all ends. One day, and it won’t be that far away, you’ll get to walk away from everything that ever caused you pain. It’ll be easier than you think, and in hindsight those things that hurt will seem to matter way less than you think they do right now.

Here is a lesson in optimism for you, it was very hard to learn but I believe it to be true.

Pain is finite. The natural course of suffering is to end. 

It will be painful, it’ll be draining, and very very slowly it will one day end. You won’t notice at first, it takes a long time to realise you’re no longer drowning. But one day you will wake up, and you’ll get on the bus to your school or your workplace, and you’ll look out the window at the passing view and you will think “maybe things will be alright after all. Perhaps it’s not that big of a lie that things get better. I mean, I’m not entirely convinced but maybe it’s not that far fetched for some people, you know?”.

And some more time will pass, and you will no longer dread waking up in the morning. It’ll take a while before you notice you didn’t haven’t had to drag yourself out of bed for a while. And then, when you’re least prepared for it, some evening will come, when you’ll look out the window at the sky through the narrow opening between the two buildings in front of you. It’ll be one of those sunsets that you can’t help but stare at.

And you will stick your head out, and you will breathe deeply and suddenly realise you are no longer gasping for air. Air will fill your lungs, and you will feel alive. You will feel the gentle summer wind, and then you realise. This is the happiest you’ve been in a while.

Feels nice actually.

Hey folks! This one was inspired by prompt 18 of the BG3FicFeb-challenge, "Angst with a happy ending". For me, Gale is one of the most fascinating companions, and I love to explore his scenes, analyze his behaviour and motifs, and develop the relationship between him and my druid Tav, Tilia. For this one-shot, I took his in-game confession scene and built up on it. I hope you enjoy it. Every kudos and comment means the world to me! Now, to make up a ten, here are my four-star reads!

When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi - A beautiful memoir about a neurosurgeon who gets diagnosed with cancer. Kalanithi had his aspirations stripped from him but found new things to drive him forward instead. For me though, the most powerful thing about Kalanithi was his strong passion for two seemingly unrelated fields; neuroscience and literature. It made me think that an Economics and English double major wouldn’t be too unheard of after all :’)

Severance by Ling Ma - Read this in March for my English class when life as we knew it began to fall apart. It was weird to see the similarities between the novel’s pandemic and our own pandemic. I ended up doing a paper analysing the main character’s attitude towards art and the creative field and art’s role in times of crises

Ms. Marvel (2014), Volume 1 by G. Willow Wilson - As a Muslim, it was really fun seeing Islamic references in a superhero comic book! There were also references to Pakistani culture, so while I didn’t really get those, I still appreciated learning a bit about their ceremonies and formal wear. Reading this showed me that representation is truly powerful!

Spirits Abroad by Zen Cho - Talked a bit about this one in a reply about Malaysian book recommendations!
