So there's an actual poem that represent my thought written by Aileen Fishers
Bird Talk
"think..." Said the robin,
"think..." Said the jay,
Sitting in the garden
Talking one day.
Think about the people
The way they grow:
They don't have feathers
At all, you know.
They don't eat beetles,
They don't grow wings,
They don't like sitting
On wires and things.'
"Think!" Said the robin.
"Think!" Said the jay.
"aren't people funny
To be that way?"

+2 connections have been added.
AILEEN AODH (CHLOÉ HAYDEN) is looking for THEIR OLDER SIBLING. they’d like the faceclaim to possibly be someone along the lines of UTP WHITE W/ NATURALLY BROWN HAIR, but you must reach out to WINDOVVAVING to find out more! ( can be masc, fem, or enby. aged somewhere in the lates 20s to mid 30s. either first or middle name (or both) must begin w/ an a. wc would have moved to denver before aileen (so been here 5+ yrs) & lives in whatever district you want! i just want some sibling fluff, so minimal plotting will be needed once contact is made. ) MEI XUAN ( LANA CONDOR ) is looking for HER SKINNY LOVE/WILL THEY, WON’T THEY RELATIONSHIP they’d like the faceclaim to possibly be someone along the lines of TOM HOLLAND, ALBERTO ROSENDE, JONAH HAUER-KING, JORDAN FISHER, UTP MALE/MALE PRESENTING FC AGED 26-28, but you must reach out to @tctteredwings to find out more! ( these two have been close friends since middle school, they’ve been through absolutely everything together. but for a long time there’s been something else there that neither one dares to act upon in case it ruins their friendship. it’s ridiculous, they’ve spent the past ten years having to convince people they aren’t a couple, but to actually take that step is a little scary. just looking for something cute and fluffy as these two attempt to figure out exactly what’s going on between them and what to do about it. )

Quote
I saw a star slide down the sky, Blinding the north as it went by, Too burning and too quick to hold, Too lovely to be bought or sold, Good only to make wishes on And then forever to be gone.

Brief and beautiful, like life.

Windy Tree - Aileen Fisher
Think of the muscles a tall tree grows in its leg, in its foot, in its wide-spread toes - not to tip over and fall on its nose when a wild wind hustles and tussels and blows.

4, 23, 35? any character :)
thanks for asking!! going to try and include all of them bc i rarely talk about a good chunk of many of these characters but also don’t want to leave the main ones out dhfdk
4. what kind of clothes do they wear
aileen, clarence, oliver, rowena, farida, and bennie all have your basic run-of-the-mill workwear, as they all work in an office setting. lorraine has much more freedom with what she wears on a daily basis and is a big fan of oversized button-ups
23. a random fact
aileen grew up on a sheep farm and was the only one of four children who took an interest in agriculture. unsurprisingly, her favorite animal is sheep. it also explains how she approaches her job. after politics, she plans to take over the farm: but that would imply her leaving her position of power...and does she really want to do that? 👀
clarence loves animal crossing. nothing to do with trends, though, because he has never seen a switch in his life. one of his younger cousins introduced him to the game during a particularly bad family Christmas dinner. this has nothing to do with my current obsession with animal crossing pocket camp. honestly. i wrote that detail before i started playing
oliver can appear kind of vacuous but he’s actually incredibly intelligent. he won a quiz show during university and he’s considered that his sole accomplishment ever since. never mind the fact that he’s the leader of a major political party and also the head of the government.
bennie strongly dislikes chocolate.
35. how is their imagination?
on principle, rowena won’t be caught daydreaming during work. but she is secretly a prolific fanfiction writer, so one might wonder how she came up with stories if she’s working most of the time. she writes under a pen name though so don’t bother trying to find her ao3
farida constantly imagines every possible consequence of a decision, which is sometimes scary. she’s usually stressing about something or other, which is borne out of an intense need to prove herself to others. in truth, everybody wishes they could be as competent as she is, but she is completely unaware of their admiration for her. send help
ask me questions about aileen, clarence, oliver, rowena, farida, bennie, or lorraine!

I am thinking about taking sign language classes again,
This time, directly from the Georgia Center for the Deaf and HoH.
I can't really learn via YouTube,
And I can't let a bad experience with ONE person take me away from a whole subject/language/skill I enjoy learning and ruin it for me!
AND I still wanna improve my language skills, even if I don't wanna be a professional interpreter anymore.
There was a mixed girl who was taking classes with me from Dr. Jones at ALI,
And I wonder how far in the program she was able to get before COVID dropped on us, and if she's still making progress toward being an interpreter, or did the pandemic make her have to pivot to something else entirely?
Like me, she wanted a new day job, to leave the restaurant industry for good,
And I hope wherever Aileen is tonight, she doing good.
So anyway, I first learned signed English (NOT ASL) in high school via the deaf white girl friend of mine.
She and I met because Mobile County Public Schools decided in our junior year that they was gon stop sending all the deaf kids in the district to one high school,
Instead deciding it'd be more cost effective and a better immersive experience to just let deaf kids go to their respective neighborhood schools, and they'd pay for interpreters for the deaf students.
Anyway, she taught me what I knew and since its a language, I used it to connect with people.
I'm remembering my Black manager at my Fisher Price My First Job, who knew I knew sign language.
Because the only deaf customers who'd ever come in were white, all my Black ass co-workers used to see me using signed English with white customers all the time.
They'd watch me in awe, and it just being another language, like the not-yet-fluent Spanish I ALSO spoke with customers, I didn't think nothing of it.
But sixteen years old and working that job was perhaps the first time I noticed people's mouths open while watching me, smiling, smirking and nudging each other,
But NOT to make fun of me.
And I didn't get what the big deal was at all--still don't--but I mention this because as an undiagnosed autistic teen who'd been nothing but bullied,
I was accustomed to derision and hatred on people's faces, but I wasn't at all used to seeing people look at me in wonder and awe! 😆
Deadass, I'd be like "Why are they looking at me like THAT?"
I was already not allowed to have a regular teenage social life, so isolated from my peers already that I figured their faces contained a new flavor of bullying the taste of which I didn't yet know.
I'm high, but I'm making sense.
Anyway, one day, this Black deaf girl and her sister came in,
And this Black male manager of mine looked at me, moved his hand in mock fingerspelling--gibberish--and with a smirk and a raised eyebrow, gon look at the Black deaf girl and her sister,
Look back at me and go, "You forgot?"
Like, tryna say, "I see you talking with your hands with them WHITE deaf folks, so you gon engage the Black deaf people the same way or NAH?!"
Uhhh, I was waiting to have something to say to them, damn.
Anyway, he ended up calling me away from the girl to get back to work, because I ended up talking to the BLACK deaf girl and her sister longer than I'd ever talked to anybody who'd come in.
See, Black people see the autism and hear this voice and diction and think it's snobbery, that my reticence to engage socially is me thinking I'm too good for Black people, which they hit me with all the time.
Like, at THAT age, I was in Mobile, Alabama, but still sounding VERY Pacific Northwest like, Kitsap County was in my mouth even tho I was speaking AAVE in public by this time--cause there WAS a time in my white acculturated upbringing that I didn't speak AAVE in public!
OMG, this I'm High brain dump of a post contains all my stuff!
Language and communication, relationships, and how I'm seen by others.
