Title: A Dangerous Game Pairing: Royal Advisor!Namjoon x Queen!Reader Genre: smut, forbidden romance, Royalty!AU Rating: M(18+) Warnings: groping, making out, a little light fingering, infidelity (reader has been forced into marriage with a horrible King)

"Quiet, love, or they'll hear you."

A shudder rolls through you as Namjoon whispers in your ear. He's right, of course. If you're any louder, the guards standing outside your chambers will hear and come investigate. They'll barge right through that door, swords swinging, not knowing that the tiny whimpers falling from your lips are cries of pleasure, not pain.

They won't care, either, if you're caught with the king's most trusted advisor's hands beneath your gown. It's a dangerous game the two of you are playing right now. And Namjoon appears to be winning, given the way he smirks at you while his dancing hands caress your breasts, thumbs flicking over your pert nipples.

"That's better," he sighs in relief when you fall silent. "Now, my Queen, tell me what you want."

What you want is for him to tear the nightgown from your body, throw you on your bed, and have his unholy way with you. That's not just what you want, it's what you need. But a lifetime of holding your tongue and doing as you're told, not as you please, makes it difficult to voice these desires.

"I - I want…" you begin, but falter when his palm skims over the swell of your bare belly. It's so wrong, the way he's touching you as if he has any right, any claim to your body. You belong to the King, that miserable old wretch who keeps you locked away in this room day and night, only ever allowing you to leave to perform your royal duties.

Fuck the King, a quiet voice in your mind hisses.

"Come, love, no need to be shy," Namjoon purrs. You love the way he looks at you. While the King views you as a duty to be done, no matter how much he repels you, Namjoon sees you as a person - and one to be treasured, at that. He's told you often enough that your presence in this palace and this realm is a gift - and now, as he smiles at you, you know he means it.

He steps closer, backing you towards the wall, trapping you against it. He dares to lower his lips to your bare neck, hot kisses blazing against your cold skin. Your room is always chilly this time of morning, but you don't care, basking in the heat of Namjoon's strong body as he leans into you.

"Do you wish to hear what I want?" he asks, bringing your hand to his mouth to kiss your knuckles, one by one. Relieved, you nod. "I want to explore your body… if you'll let me."

Despite your firmly pressed lips, another whine escapes you. Swiftly, he kisses you, hastily swallowing your noises. You fall into him, eyes closing, lost in the sensation of his wet tongue as it glides along yours. His left hand is still drifting lower, lower….

With a gasp, you break the kiss and glance down, watching as his hand disappears between your legs. He traces a finger through your sodden folds, back and forth, and you can't stop your hips from canting forward, seeking more of his touch.

"It appears that you want this too, my Queen. But I need to hear you say it." You're so distracted by his left hand that you don't even notice the right one is gripping your chin until he tips your head, forcing you to meet his gaze. His dragon eyes smolder as he licks his lips. "Words, love. I need to hear you say the words."

"T-take me. Namjoon." His expression darkens. It ignites a fire within you. "Now."

"As my Queen demands."

I assume 90% of everyone seeing this too would jump to Lau being the pretty, elusive Prince of a realm, and Bard the rugged, brooding but loyal knight, kinda brought up to be trained and sworn in automatically ala Link in BoTW universe (N-No I'm not obsessed with a game I've never been able to play WHAT 🙈) AND I get it, it's classic and charming, I'd LOVE it 👌

BUT

BUT!!!!!!!!

Imagine that in REVERSE, too~ UwU

Bardroy is a handsome, devil-may-care, mischievous and a bit immature up-and-coming prince, his parents TIRED of him, he kinda is like a white version of kuzco from Emperor's New Groove, even.. Maybe not as sassy as that guy, but still, the second he's presented with hopeful ladies to be his bride... He roasts them and storms away grumpy.. Ugh, he doesn't WANT to get MARRIED, he wants to spend his days EXPLORING the lands!!

Then one day an ATTACK occurs, out of the blue, a rival kingdom here to take over as this one is so unguarded (The Prince isn't the only one in the kingdom with so many faults..) And Bard is faced with seeing his assumed brave Father and Mother quiver and sob and beg for mercy from the enemy like mere peasants..

They are killed of course, too annoying and pitiful to be kept alive.

And before Bardroy can have his moment of exploding with rage and grief, an unknown pair of hands GRAB the young man and drag him kicking and screaming into a secret passage, down down.. and then out of the castle.

This unknown kidnapper is none other than LAU, one of hired guards...

He too is baffled by the Prince's own parents being so weak, but he BELIEVES that if the prince lives on, builds himself up... He can get revenge!!

(And Lau can get some credit too for helping this dumb boy get back the kingdom, heh heh..)

But of course as most stories of unlikely partnerships go.. Over time the learn about each other's true selves, their fears and weaknesses deep down; Bard's being obviously of course of ALWAYS feeling like he could never be a good ruler of a kingdom, especially since it requires marriage and making up laws and sitting around..

And Lau's being that he flat out had NOTHING, except this final position of a guard in a flimsy kingdom...

His family and all wiped out..

Bard had only recently found out what THAT is like.

But they are together now, and learn that they ..like this new life of roaming and adventuring together!

They downright grow fond of one another..

Yes! Like when TXT's Lovesong came out, I was in ecstasy. It was the kind of sound that my younger self listened to a lot, so it felt a bit nostalgic, and it's still one of my fav releases ever!

Haha thank you then! 🤗 I'm actually not one for beaches because I don't really enjoy swimming (maybe it's because we don't have a beach 😂), but I do find the sight of beaches pretty. As far as I know, Australia is very diverse in regards to the scenery and the climate, is that right? So I'm pretty sure I haven't seen all kinds of photos of it, but from the ones I've seen, it looks really picteresque. 😍 Also, don't feel bad about not going to the beach. We have this one bigger lake in Hungary, and lots of people go there during the summer, but I think the last time I was there was when I was about 6? 😅

OMG haha yes! I love writing cameos into my stories. They will be in the spin-off too, that much I can say. The spin-off will take place after the events in 'loving you is a losing game', that's why. Also, that part was heartbreaking to write because of all the feels! I love making myself suffer while I'm writing, but Sejun had a character arch in the story, so the angst was needed. 🙈

Oh Taeyang, my dear gosh! 😍 He's like the full package. Such an amazing and captivating performer yet he's such a shy bean off-stage. Sometimes I can't believe he's the same person haha

for the fanfic trope grading, here's a million: amnesia, spies au, royalty au, sickfic, coffee shop au, a/b/o, bodyguard (streetlightsky)

Amnesia: C: (Neutral. A good author might be able to sell it, but a bad one will kill it deader than dead.) Ngl I haven't had much exposure to this trope in the fic realm? The first thing that came to mind for me was that one movie with Rachel McAdams and Channing Tatum 🙈 It's not an outright no, but it feels kind of predictable? That being said everything is subjective to a degree and if you gave me a fic where, say, Seb's the one who has to convince Charles that after failboating for the longest time, yes, they did, against all odds, get together and had this established thing going on...I would be intrigued 👀 Especially since Charles is the one with all the unhinged incomprehensible words ("Ich liebe dich") and gestures (scrapbook helmet) while Seb's way of showing love and affection is a lot more subtle and he'd probably take it slower, reminding Charles of their traditions, inside jokes, favourite songs they share, places they enjoy visiting together, etc. But also it'd be interesting how he'd cope with Charles reverting to this...adoration from afar phase he was in, the way he was so starstruck with Seb that it made their initial interactions as teammates quite awkward. He'd probably have a hard time believing that anything came of his crush - and that Seb reciprocated his feelings! So yeah, never say never, I guess? But since that fic doesn't exist I'm just gonna go with not really my thing but not 100% against it either.

Spies AU: B (Like it. Not one of my bigger cravings, but it can scratch a certain itch if I’m in the right mood.) Fun fact, I'm a big fan of spy movies and cyclically go through a mini James Bond phase every time a new 007 movie comes out. So this gets a big hell yes from me, at least in theory. Afaik there's not that many spyfics in this fandom, and certainly not ones where Sebchal's involved, because I probably would've had some recollection of that. So I can't really go on the quality of existing F1 RPF spyfics but it's something I'd like to see more of, I guess? In the rights hands I think it could be really great. I wrote a mini take on a James Bond AU in a F1 RPF setting many, many moons ago myself.

Royalty AU: D (Not my favorite. I avoid it if I can, but it won’t necessarily put me off reading something.) This is another one of those tropes where I feel like I'd have to read a really, really interesting spin on it to be hooked? Preferably one that plays on already existing like...canon elements and just worldbuilds from there, as opposed to being like "oh this one person is an undercover prince" or, worse yet, making it a full-on historical setting. The one exception for me is Anastasia because that's my beloved childhood film and I'm very sentimental, lol.

Sickfic: D (Not my favorite. I avoid it if I can, but it won’t necessarily put me off reading something.) Ngl I can't remember ever going to look for sickfic specifically? I mean it can be nice but having the main plot be just the sickness and caring for the sick partner aspect then that's not that interesting to me. Maybe if it's part of a larger fic that sort of deals with the ups and downs of an established relationship?

Coffee Shop AU: B (Like it. Not one of my bigger cravings, but it can scratch a certain itch if I’m in the right mood.) Again this is one of those tropes I like in theory but my enjoyment hinges on the execution. Sometimes it also features as a sort of side-plot in college AUs, that's also cool. Christmasfic with an abundance of sweet seasonal caffeinated drinks is beloved around this time of year.

A/B/O: F (Hate it. Will immediately make me nope out of a fic.) Look, not gonna lie, having grown up in the midst of the Twilight craze, at first the terminology used in those fics made me imagine this sort of...shapeshifter scenario where they're turning into actual wolves. But as I understand it they're...human, or at least human-shaped, just with animalistic traits and urges? I know, I know, but there's worldbuilding! That's the thing that doesn't appeal to me, though. This idea that one's inherently portrayed as "the protector" and the other inherently needs protection because of the like biological label they come assigned with and the sort of power dynamics at play here aren't...something that appeals to me I suppose. And if it's about the baby-having aspect then I mean...strip away the "wolf" stuff and call it magical realism/cosmic fuckery and I'd be happy with that, lol.

Bodyguard: C (Neutral. A good author might be able to sell it, but a bad one will kill it deader than dead.) Again, this largely comes down to like... I haven't read many takes that I enjoyed, but I feel like it can be done in an interesting, fresh way? I'd enjoy an F1-set fic here where one is the other's security detail but they're still a driver and not like, a popstar or royalty or the president's son or something "out there" which is usually the case with this trope. Give me a take where they're begrudgingly warming to each other through the hours upon hours of commuting they have to do. Milling about the paddock together. Maybe there's nothing as dramatic as leaping in front of a bullet, but seeing some of the fan recordings of Charles especially and how people are often crowding his car, the chaotic scenes outside/inside hotels, etc... I think Seb would have his hands full, lol.
