Okay so a little thing I noticed is how this random citizen flinches and calls Nimona "freak" when he sees her. This is actually a lot of people's reactions when they see someone using this style (punk rock ig, vibrant colors). And in my experience a lot of queer, especially trans people enjoy this style. You can see that Nimona's design is much different than those of the citizens', even when she is in her "human" form trying to blend in. Everyone is dressed pretty casually, like you could walk down the streets and see someone wearing their clothes. But Nimona stands out. And a lot of people are judgmental purely if someone stands out and doesn't follow their traditional beliefs, norms and roles.

I spoke a lie in the tags, this discontinued Folkmanis hand puppet whose design is actually closer to a Mexican redleg tarantula, not redknee.

And yes, this is a hand puppet. It has a hand slot on the bottom side, and finger holes in six out of eight legs, plus the pedipalps. I have no idea how you're supposed to puppet all of them, even with very thin, long hands I have trouble doing it.

In defiance of taxonomy, its name is Rekku-chan, because I was once a weeb who defiantly decided to love brown recluse spiders, after I became obsessed with the comicbook MMO City of Villains and its excellent spider aesthetic.

everyday I wish there were more stories about trans people that I could hold and cherish in book/graphic novel form. pls. I want to see trans ppl in space. and as superheroes where the story is about them 100%. and like slice of life gardening. and high fantasy. and historical fiction but like we get to be happy. and I want trans people who have magical powers and the stories about gender fuckery and saving the world. and maybe I want to write these stories too but I can’t be blamed for wanting to curl up with a good book with trans main characters written by trans ppl for me (… and everyone else too.
