So after being inspired by @lovedeluxegod‘s attempt at the #7daysketchbookchallenge, I will be attempting my own starting tommorow (Mon.16). The goal is to fill an entire sketch book in 7 days, no particular theme or medium so I’mma just do whatever in pencil.

I bought this dingy sketchbook JUST for the occasion because lbr, all the sketchbooks I have are like hardcover moleskin 150-200 page sketch books and we ain’t about that life. (Hell I’m not even sure I can pull off 70 but we’ll see lmao)

“But wait” I can hear some of you say, “Bitch what about the requests I sent you likee a week or so ago?” Great news I didn’t forget about that some of those ideas I’ll be using for the sketchbook so hey everyone wins. Wish me many lucks.

The last day of #7daysketchbookchallenge Theme: Masks 👺🎭 • I decided to draw some traditional Japanese Noh theatre masks. (The bottom left is more in the style of Kabuki face painting which came much later than Noh theatre) • This brings back memories of a wonderful night on the island of Sadogashima with @tomjohnsonart when the owner of the sushi restaurant we ate at that night got out his collection of Noh masks, swords and tea sets to show us. So today was the end of my #7daySketchbookChallenge and hooo boy that was a journey. I didn’t quite finish the whole book, I had six pages left (out of the 10 a day I was supposed to be doing) and I dunno sleepy bitch disease claimed ya girl but still 64 out of 70 isn’t bad at all. What we learned during this little experiment is that 1. Don’t do this challenge and pick a 70 page sketch book and 2. I don’t really draw as much as I should.

Like essentially this was a week of drawing everyday and I don’t think I’ve drawn so much in succession since..hell — college maybe? That wasn’t that long ago but still, I’ve learned from this that I should be drawing at least once a day there’s no excuse.

As for the sharing of these sketches I’ll be doing it on @m0onsugar, we ain’t about to showcase all 64 because frankly most of them aren’t good enough for that but I’ll pick out a few I liked.
