My bestie and I have been persisting in the affs “I get paid to exist” and “I am spoiled & treated like a queen” because we don’t wanna work for shit anymore 😭 Yesterday she told me she was hanging out at the local bar and a random guy gave her money to play a gambling game (it’s legal where she is) and said he would split any winnings with her. She ended up winning over $600 so after splitting with him, went home with $300 cash. I was like “damn!!! I want someone to randomly give me cash too!!”

Anyway last night around 11:11, I was getting ready for bed, listening to some subs and texting my bestie when I got a new email with the subject “[generic man’s name] sent you $100 for dinner”. I was like wtf is this some scam email? It was from Cash App, but I usually get text notifications from them.

I looked at the email info and it was sent to my old social media name - when I was going through my influencer era 2021-2022, I had an army of simps who wanted to send me tips & gifts when I was livestreaming on TikTok, so I made a separate account so my real name wouldn’t be disclosed. All the attention got too much back then and I ended up abandoning all my old social media accounts over a year ago, and I’ve ignored it all since (I don’t even have TT or IG apps on my phone anymore)

I logged in to my old Cash account and sure enough, $100 bucks from a complete stranger. I marked it with a heart, and a few minutes later received another $50 with a note to check one of my old accounts on Reddit.

So yeah, he DMed saying had found my old accounts and just decided that I deserved to be spoiled & treated like a queen. Not him repeating my affs 😭 Yes I have pretty privilege lol but it was a completely unexpected surprise - I haven’t received any payments on that Cash account since December 2022, and even when I was active I never received so much at once, for absolutely no reason!

Hi everyone!

So originally I wasn’t going to post anymore devlogs until demo release, because if you haven’t heard... 

The Full Alaris Demo Will Be Releasing July 15, 2022!

I decided I would do one last check-in before release so you all have an idea of what to expect, what’s being worked on until the release, and things of that nature! How exciting!!! The last devlog before the final demo release!!! It’s finally upon us?

Supporter Shout-Outs / Announcements

As a quick note, because I always want to make sure I thank anyone who supports the game, I’d like to thank someone for recently donating to the Alaris: Season’s Greetings DLC. Hope you enjoyed it --- it was super fun and wholesome to make :’) 

We also reached 600 followers on itch.io recently and are actually almost at 900 followers on Twitter (el oh el wtf). I’m super excited to release the demo and finally give you all what feels like an actual concrete product to play with! I know I’ve released samples of the demo already, but to finally reach the stage where I have the actual full demo to be released is so rewarding and exciting right now <3 

Also, we finally have a trailer and released it on Twitter and here! If you haven’t checked it out yet, please feel free to do! Yes, the date on the Twitter post is wrong. Yes, that is an accurate representation of how my mind is functioning right now. 

Demo Updates

Right now, similar to the last devlog, the only things I really have been working on are polishing features, cleaning up bugs/errors from playtester submissions, and final script edits.

For features, I reworked the prologue so now it feels more like a storybook feel hopefully. Here is a sneak peek, if any of you didn’t get to see it on Twitter! 

It’s simpler, but I think fits better with setting the mood :’)

I also have compiled the things I need to fix based on playtester runs. I’ll also be spending the last week or two playtesting the game into oblivion to hopefully clean it as much as I can before release. This, along with script editing is where most of my time is being allocated as we wrap up for release.

Other than that, “release” stuff is happening on the backburner. Finished the trailer (and I’m actually so happy and proud of it :’)). And I actually got to commission the key visual and some other stuff I’ll be using for release promo. So excited for those to be ready to show you all!!

With all that being said, I’d say game development is maybe at like 99.5%. Only 1.5% increase from last time, but it’s a lot of tedious things is why and there have been some wait times involved. Because it’s the last bit before I release, I also anticipate it takes longer because polishing and editing can just take a million years. On the bright side, we have a release date!!! This will be the last devlog until release because I’ll be working on these same things until demo release, but I’ll still be positing the official game announcement along with key visuals and stuff along the way. Hope you’re all excited!! Only three weeks left!!!

Developer Ramblings

As you all may (or may not) know, I’ve worked on Alaris as a sole developer for the past year, meaning I haven’t commissioned anything. Everything, from the script, programming, and art assets were either done by me or draw from free-to-use resources online. Because the ~official~ release is upon us, I wanted to actually “step things up” per-say and commission at least the key visual. 

Someone opened editing commissions to raise money for personal reasons recently, and seeing an opportunity to just really elevate the demo, I decided to reach out. We’ve been working together on the final script for the past couple of weeks and are about 3/4 of the way through the script. Reading it now, I am SO happy with it and have honestly learned so much from the person I’m commissioning. So I’m super grateful to have had the opportunity to do so because I feel like I’ve learned things about writing that I never would’ve known since I have 0 experience with creative writing. I think the script now is so much more effective, and it’s honestly the biggest thing I’m excited for people to see. Even the playtesters haven’t read the new script since it wasn’t ready at all when I sent the alpha build out. 

So I hope even people who have played the sample releases get a new experience with the demo. Even if the base content is still the same, it reads different to me and feels like a new experience, so I hope you’re all excited!! I keep saying that, but I think it’s partly because I’m in disbelief this is even happening haha. Anyways, that’s all for this update! Hope you’re all excited for release <3

Did I say I needed $800 for my car?? SIKE, I LIED! lmao. I didn't even pay attention to this shit, but it says $881 on the paper. I thought that was with the inspection included. Nope.

Now see I got a coupon for it, so if they can accept the coupon, it'll go down $100. That's still $781...which is still $800.

I made $550 this week. There was a contest going on so I had to really push myself. I worked 30 hours. That $550 will have an extra $50 added to it, since I qualified for the bonus. So I'll have about $600. I can borrow $75 from an app I have so that's $675. If I could borrow another $150, that would be fantastic. I'm thinking about just asking my parents for it and paying them back when I pay for insurance.

If I could get that $100 off, this would work. Sigh I'ma just have to call them when I get my money together and see if it's still some good.

Working these 30 hours was tough and I actually can't believe that I actually did it. It was hard. With my sister and I still not talking, it really puts me in a bad headspace...

I've been getting more lonely as of late and so I've been checking my ex's ( the guy I had the situationship with. idc we was together ) socials more. It's a stupid habit that I developed when I was younger with him, and I can't stop doing it fr. He just posted this sexy ass picture of himself on FB and I can't stop looking at it. He shaved his whole head. FINALLY. Like fuck. He looks so good with his head shaved and with that fuckin line up on his beard.

Fantasizing about a reality with the two of us being happy makes me feel so empty because I really think he hates me fr... We both said a lot of crazy ass shit to each other and none of that shit was right. We both were wrong for what we did, but I'm not going to admit to that until he tells me sorry first lol.

On a serious note, I have no idea why I can't get him off of my mind sometimes. I thought it was because I was horny, but that can't be it because I came today already and, well...I came A LOT lmfao. I think about him and get so angry because idk why he was so mad. It pisses me off. But it's like I don't care about that because wtf could I possibly do to make a nigga THAT mad you know what I mean?? But I still think about him. I still care about him. I miss how soft his lips felt on mine. I miss the way he sucked on my nipples. I miss the way he touched me. And I absolutely LOVED the way he ate my pussy. Just thinking about his face being buried in between my legs again makes me flustered. Thinking about the way he made me cum with just his fingers...

I know I should move on. I know. He probably didn't even fucking like me like that fr. He doesn't even think of me the same I do him. He said so, but his actions prove otherwise. This man sat here and still had my email from 10 years ago and emailed me. That's why all this happened in the first place... Idk man... The situation doesn't bother me fr, but it stays on my mind. Because well...I'd like it if we had an actual relationship instead of us just fucking off with each other... I need to worry about this money tbh. That's my main priority.

I just realized it's past midnight. I gotta go to sleep, since I need to go to work. Damn, I worked for 7 days and the only time I had to myself was when I was doing my hair. I'm okay with it though. I'm glad I'm being more productive with my time. If I'm not working, I'm lurking my ex's page, watching youtube, daydreaming while I listen to music or playing videogames. It's good to be productive.

My goal for this week is to work another 30 hours at least. I'd like to see how much I could make if I was more serious about this shit. I low key wanna work 40 fr. Anyway, lemme go to sleep.
