The things we don't say (have I given enough) is a royal fic, with giant royal sbi, and human thief's bench trio. Tommy was adopted by the royals and he grew up there, but always felt like he was useless and worthless, being human in a castle of giants. So he runs away, without saying anything, only going to come back once he has their weight in gold. The way he gets the treasure is... Not exactly honourable, and it's how he meets Tubbo and Ranboo, also thiefs, and willing to help Tommy. They become friends quickly. Now, I'm not saying any more because I don't want to spoil anything (and cause you know what happens already), so let's move on to the next one.

Yes, I can see that you've guessed what Just try not to crash is, and yes I am forced to give you more info. Just try not to crash is a jornos submission fic for @i-am-beckyu, which miiight be Wilbur giving Tommy a remote control car, + shenanigans. This fic was supposed to contain pure fluff, and it still might, but I'm on g/t angst brainrot, so you can never be too sure >:] (They ended up naming the car Carl because of Techno, since they asked for a name)

Rescue me from my despair is with faerie Tommy and human Wilbur, with Techno and Phil appearing later... it's a oneshot about Wilbur and Tommy being (technically) brothers, but Wilbur is scared to tell Techno and Philza about Tommy, since faeries tend to lead people towards unspeakable dangers. The rhyme in the beginning goes so:

Don't listen when the fae calls,

Doesn't matter how much they coo,

You're safe if you ignore them,

But when you follow them, the dangers true.

Sooooo yeah, that might not be the best beings to befriend. So Wilbur gets hurt in the forest before Techno and Philza come to visit him, (they visit weekly, and Wilbur hides Tommy everytime) and Tommy has to convince the humans that no, he is NOT trying to murder them, he is trying to save Wilbur. (I do like this idea :])

"Did you just say the ENTIRE doughnut!?" Was a funny idea I had where a borrower attempted to borrow (yoink) an entire doughnut from under the humans nose, just because they could. Obviously they get caught, and shenanigans ensue.

Your life will be the death of me is a soulmate doll au, in which the borrower has the humans... Voodoo doll? Let's just go with that. Anyway, the borrower has the humans doll, borrower size of course, and see it as a lucky charm, taking it with them everywhere. It seems to work too! They can do a ton of risky things, super dangerous too, and get harmed without getting hurt! Super lucky, right? Well... the human is very concerned about their soulmate. They know that the soulmate will take the others pain when holding the doll, so they are very careful as to not hurt them. Apparently the soulmate does not know that, for they have gotten harmed multiple times. What on earth could they be doing!? And to top it all off, the house they just moved into seems to have mice. Just great. Now they need to go buy traps from the store...

Hehe, can you imagine what would happen when the human gets hurt from their own trap? I can >:)

I see a lot of them and I'm just curious about how to make them, as i want to get into writing for the fandom, and sm au seem the easiest to start with :)

hi there, not weird at all! i actually had this question on my old blog, but it's buried somewhere so i will definitely reiterate it on here!

one thing to note is i am psychotic and go a little crazy with my smau edits, and there are simpler ways to go about it. and this also my personal style, and everyone on here does it a little differently. do what makes you comfortable and what you feel fits your vibe. under the cut, i talk about two ways i do instagram edits and other elements to create a full smau!

instagram edits

(1) Right here in the text editor! -> this is how i started out! adding photos & all the text right on here. its easy, quick. perfect for photodumps!! -> this is specifically for posts only.

(2) Canva!!!! -> i love love love canva and its were i do all my fake posts and stories. -> canva takes a lot of finesse, lots of adjusting spacing and alignment so it does take up a bit of time (and your patience haha) -> i would say the only downfall with canva is photodumps & photo size. i currently have my posts formatted for one square photo and not the 3:4 ratio photo or any landscape styles.

twitter/tweets

i use tweetgen atm to do any tweets/threads. i can and have formatted twitter accounts and tweets on canva (see my wag profile) but its so tedious and a bit much, so i reccommend using tweet gen to make your life easier.

interviews/articles/etc etc

this post is basically a free canva ad because for those elements i 100% use canva to edit and format. i love it so much i should pay for a premium subscription at this point but im cheap so i wont.

edit: also pls note that if you're curating posts on the mobile app, you are only allowed to insert 10 photos. but if you curate them on desktop, you can add 30!

Summary: The Wizard (Speaker), realized that he missed an ingredient for his potions: a particular flower that only blooms at night, with the full moon. He decides to go out to look for it in the nearest woods, and while he search for it, Listener steal his bag. The Wizard chases them, but finds them nearby, injured, and confused to see that the cat that stole the bag, is now half-human.

This is part 1 of a small series that, I think, should be around 7-8 parts in total. I'll try to update all parts as soon as possible!

Oh… Oh! I see, I see. I shouldn’t have used the firefly rose for this, but the moonlight rose. Yeah, that makes sense, how could I forget? What kind of sleeping potion would that be without THAT flower? Sigh, I really need to get better at this. If I want to really make a living out of this, I can’t just… training on spells alone. Potions needs practice too. And that client needs it for tomorrow…

[Small sound of book being closed]

*Energetic* All right! Let’s get back to work. I’ll get this done, and then I’ll finally go to sleep.

[Walking steps, sounds of glass bottles]

I’ll get some rest in the morning. For now, I’ll just go and gather a bunch of moonlight roses. Coat on, keys, bag… and a knife, just in case. You never know what may be out there, and spells could not be quick enough.

[Walking steps, door opening and closing]

[Wind blowing]

*Shivering* Brr, that’s a cold night. Winter really is around the corner, huh? Anyway… let’s get this done. The moonlight rose should be growing in those woods…

[Walking steps on grass, for a few seconds]

Here they are. Those are really beautiful flowers. Even in a cold weather like this they manage to bloom, just thanks to the full moon shining its light on them.

[Bag falling on the ground, sound of picking up flowers/grass]

One, two, three… and there are more over there…

[Walking steps on grass, but quieter]

*Confused* Wait a moment… that sound… am I not the only one here?

[More walking steps on grass]

*Slightly worried* Shoot, there’s definitely someone else. But those steps… it didn’t sound like they were human steps. They were more… quiet. Could that be some kind of wild animal? I mean, I’m in the woods after all. That would be normal.

in particular, though, if you ever have a deranged thought where you associate something you've heard, read or saw with me, i'd love to know. it makes me feel really seen. same thing goes with the boys or any of my style au ncuniverse content, i try to make them as immersive and intricate and interactive as possible, also i get worried about the characterizations and stuff being unclear, so when people make connections and stuff, it makes my teacher brain go brr.

which, uuuuuugggggh speaking of. i feel like a lot of the reason i've been so depressed and strung out lately is because ( i'm sure i mentioned it ) but my coworker is out for the week, he is the only other person who does my labor intensive, kind of degrading, whack job. and so i have all of my shifts...Plus His. which means i have all the 9th graders in my school....all...the time.

literally, i am so sad because my coworker gets to shadow kinder recess with the kindergarteners which uUUuUuugh i'm so fucking jealous, but i was so excited because i actually Know all the little kindergarteners because i help them out of their cars every morning and get them on the right buses in my crazy outfits, so they get heeella psyched when i roll up because i wear all the big earrings and my sweaters are always soft kshdsh...but...THEY FUCKING GOT SOMEONE TO COVER HIS KINDER RECESS SHIFT SO I COULD TAKE MORE CLASSES. I HATE MY LIIIIIIFE!!!!!! WHY!!! LOL!!!!!

also...sigh. i had to Speak Sternly to all my 9th grade classes because they are also the periods of time where other students come in to take makeup tests and my kids are so loud that kids...physically cannot test. and idk, sorry to go all teacher on y'all, but my kids misbehaving in a free period cannot impact the education of other students taking tests. so i kind of had to yell at them and it suckeed. UGH. i care a lot about them, but i let way too much slide so now they are acting crazy. but they've chilled out a lot more so, thank god.

edit: just Fucking Kidding !!! my biggest class was fucking HORRIBLE today i want to stick my fucking head in a blender. i feel like the mother to like thirty very loud kids who won't listen to me, fml.

but yeah, someone gave their condolences for my heavy work week and said they hope i get to spend more time with the little people. and man, dude. i wish. i licherally got f'ed. it sucks so bad. :////

but here are some highlights:

when i was covering my coworkers kinder recess last week, all the kids got really excited, i had to pry a lot of them off me, a bunch of girls made lego water bottles and were trying to have me drink different colored lemonades out of them ( i made very expressive faces and pretended to spill it everywhere once in devastation ) and a very sweet little girl made me this. AAAAAAAA i cried. i crieeeed

i also got so many hugs <3 so stoked <333 there is also a first grade girl who rain, wind or shine, will come get her uncle nina hug and it does make me misty, i love that consistent queen ;-;

a 4th grade girl finger knit me a headband!! i told her i would style an outfit around it, so stay tuned, haha. and another elementary school girl who sees me in my lil sanrio hello kitty grrl outfits told me that she went to the mall and opened a prize box and got this cute hello kitty sticker, that she thought of me...and Gave it to me??

And we're back for another update! Let's see who was paying attention to a new development on UA campus. ;) This chapter is not Izuku heavy as there are other matters that need to be attended to for certain plot points to move forward.

The dorms have begun! Sh-sh-shout out to gac102 for suggesting starting the dorms earlier than canon. Took me a while to figure out exactly how and when that would make sense plot wise. Hopes this works for you peeps! As well as how Nezu manages to get Endeavor to agree. That part I'm not sure works so well but it's what I came up with. -shrugs- ^____^

Got a bit of a look into certain family dynamics. The Bakugous aren't as explosive. Still awkward around each other for Katsuki and Mitsuki but they're working on it. Aizawa has now seen the additions to the gallery but his full reaction to them will come up in a later chapter. They had things to do in this one. :P

Again, I hope this works for convincing Endeavor to agree. Underhanded but this is Nezu we're talking about. Also, I hope you liked the bit with Endeavor recognizing Aizawa and just being an asshole. Then we also have Fuyumi as a new ally! As for who is staying in the dorms, I decided by those whose birthplaces were furthest from where UA is supposedly. I made a reference map here if you're interested.

Fun Facts About Japan:

This one is more insight of the table and chairs they're sitting at for the talk in the Todoroki abode. Originally I had the line like this "It was very traditional with tatami mats, a lower chabudai floor table, zabuton cushions to sit on, and only one paired with a legless zaisu chai." but it felt a bit clunky to me. So I'll just talk about it here!

The overall 'traditional Japanese room' is called washitsu ( 和室 , わしつ ) and is sometimes referred to as the 'tatami room' as they typically have tatami flooring. If it is multiple rooms they'll be divided by sliding doors called fusuma ( 襖 , ふすま ) that are sometimes painted with different scenes. The room could also have sliding door/windows called shouji ( 障子 , しょうじ ) which are the lattice ones with the paper. If the room's purpose is to receive guests it could also have a built in alcove called a tokonoma ( 床の間 , とこのま ) for decorations like calligraphy scrolls or floral arrangements.

Now for the furniture, there could be a low table called chabudai ( 卓袱台 or 茶袱台 or 茶部台 , ちゃぶだい ) or in winter a kotatsu ( 炬燵 , こたつ ) which is a heated table. I practically lived sitting at my kotatsu in Japan 'cause I am a girl of the desert and actual winter weather is freaking cold to me! :P Brr. Anyway, you can sit either right on the tatami or you could sit on cushions called zabuton ( 座布団 , さぶとん ). I personally doubled up on the cushions when working in the tatami room in the Board of Education building on days I worked there. You could also attach what's called zaisu ( 座椅子 , ざいす ) which is a legless chair that provides back support. Not necessarily a show of power as I have it in the chapter but if there's only one spot at the table that has one...I would feel there was a bit of posturing. :P

On a side note, when I was writing and editing this chapter, I felt thinking back to one of the lessons in the first year textbook practicing "What's this? It's...." answer questions. I had to repeat that particular one so many times I feel it's engraved into my brain. I believe it went like this. "What's this?" "It's senbei. It's a rice cracker. Here, try one." "It's delicious. Thank you, Hiro." Short, simple, but my mind now always goes to that chapter's little practice dialogue whenever I hear or read senbei. I believe some of you also are or were ALTs like I was and could relate. I have another one with I think second years where the character Hiro is going to American to visit his uncle. The flight attendant's speech was another one I had to say a lot and I remember most of it. XD Oh my brain and memorizing things. Anyway, this was more of a side note than a fact.

Ok so I. May end up rambling quite a bit here. Just. Fair warning. Here goes.

I never outline. I barely even have an IDEA when I start writing something, it just kind of takes shape as I write it. I am way too impatient and attention disorder go brr to write outlines. I'll often have one very specific scene or set of dialogue in mind, and I'll build the rest around that.

I edit once I'm done writing!! I am. Really bad at editing so it's. Not really a big part of the process for me but. Yeah.

I ALWAYS listen to music while writing. I'll usually have a playlist or a set of songs that I associate with the characters or plot of the story, everything I've written has at least one song associated with it in my mind. If you want to know what songs I associate with certain fics feel free to ask!!!

My favorite sentence I've ever written is a line of dialogue from an original thing of mine! I just lose it every time I think of it I love it so much. It's this:

"Beckett. YOU STOLE A FUCKING VELOCIRAPTOR."

How many ideas do I have right now? That is certainly A Question. It depends on if we're talking for fics or for. All writing. For fics I have currently... More Brian Goes Feral (the aftermath), a very complex detective noir au, thoughts about maybe writing a condensed version of the Dating Marius' Dead Family au, and Brian and Raph Make An Evil Cake (that's it that's literally the premise of the fic)

For oc stuff I am working on developing an extended universe based around an interdimensional time traveling space hotel, it's gotten very complex and extensive and there are so many characters and storylines I love it so very much it's very dear to my heart. If you want to know more please feel free to ask i would love to ramble about it!!!

Gosh dang this is not a comprehensive review in the slightest but i don’t care!! Binch!! I can’t even say anything good… when beloved or darkness visible makes me cry, i guess beloved is fourth? So if it does it’ll be first, anyway, when i start crying maybe i have something cooler to say. Not crazy about the “dubstep build” on this, after the bridge, just because i don’t believe it, like it’s not long enough, and resolves unconvincingly. But, anyway.

That being said, Picture You sounds v vibey right off the bat. Okay lads! I thought it best you didn’t knowww. I’m so proud of Marcus for flaunting these vocals, i stg, I’ve spoken on this before but... like he can do that!! I’m so glad he’s,, doing it! Ooh the “away” is v nice. I love full-stops in music, where the sound gets sucked out like here or just stops entirely… yes boys. Okay.. not crazy about this kind of.. Breakdown but it’s still cool. Just not in-rand as much as some other things. I mean, this sound is V different of course but they’re workin’ it. Top three mythopoeic milieus (that someone other than me created): hm. The more I think about this the more I realize I really don’t want to live in those worlds, because I’m fantastically old and the idea of having to deal with any of that shit at all is tiiiiiring. IF I were to live in the Elder Scrolls universe, I’d make the best of it by selling a lot of those potions that have deleterious / mismatched properties but cost a lot. I assume they get you rightly fucked up? because why else would they cost that much. Dark Crystal seems like it would be nice - but, something would eat / infect me, I feel certain. Star Trek is a thought because the premise is that famine and war have been ended on Earth. That shit is pretty intoxicating. All that military shite, though. Oh well: at least there’s Tuvok there.

What’s My Deal: I want to build a residential community, serving a creative collective / collaborative studio, in a cannabis-legal place, to help make other mad creatives safer and more fulfilled, especially those with chronic illnesses and endangered demographical markers. I have some resources and a lot of experience with this kind of thing, from multiple angles. It’s why I’m still alive - the hope of such a home, not too far in the future.

Almost five years ago, MDRN had the pleasure of working with Michigan’s OWLCAVE RECORDS on a Secret Society compilation -- it was through this collaboration that I met the incredible Nikolas Vudu, at-that-time (and currently again) a Michigander, who I’ve been able to reconnect with, since moving to NYC.  For only reaching the age of 24, he’s sure accomplished a lot --he’s released under many names, with older-industrial-styled records to his newest, harshest, power-electronics escapades as OBSESSIVE DISCIPLINE. Kausitikutt:  available here. Obsessive Discipline:  available here. This summer, we had the opportunity to meet up to record some tracks for a forthcoming project together, so I wanted to follow up with a brief review and interview: David S. Blunk, II:  How long have you been releasing as Obsessive Discipline? Nik Vudu:  Only for around 3 years. Before that, though, I had a related project called Kaustikutt (you know this as we shared a compilation release). It was more Skinny Puppy-influenced. Obsessive Discipline is more raw power electronics/noise. Blunk:  I just wanted to let you know that I've been giving, "Consecration," many plays.  My personal faves are, "Consecration ov Vaoquax ," and  "Is It So Hard ." The beginning / title / thematic introduction is a funeral chugger worth multiple listens.  Great murky vocals!  Flips in on itself about halfway in.   "Is It So Hard,"  hits great new low registers.  Very different from Kaustikutt!  Gorgeously morbid ending / segue into, "N.G.U.O.Y.D.,B !"  The true climax of the record, for me. Vudu:  Thanks a lot! Blunk:  Tell us about your move from Michigan to NYC, and how that influenced your output?  What about this release, specifically? Vudu:  In fact, I moved to NYC to attend graduate school for Music Technology, to learn about the innards of audio equipment, software, acoustics, electronics etc. It has certainly affected my musical direction. NYC is overcrowded and often filthy. Overall, I like it there for how much there is to do, but it has certainly fueled my misanthropy; this is definitely an important aspect of Obsessive Discipline. Blunk:  MDRN's also friends with Black Ring Rituals label-mate VITRIOL GAUGE.  Do you two know each other IRL?  What's your relationship with the BRR team like, outside of their support of this release?  Do you plan to release with them in the future? Vudu:  I've never met Vitriol Gauge. I will contact him after this. I like his sound. I came into contact with BRR from Patrick of Trashfuck Records and Bullshit Market. He recommended I release Consecration through Black Ring Rituals, and he was right. I do hope to release more material through BRR. Great label, and I'm also interested in Invocation Films, their VHS subdivision. Blunk:  Do you see yourself returning to NYC anytime soon (for shows, work, etc.)?  How did your time here shape your sound?  Vudu:  As for moving back, it all depends on where I can find work. I would be happy to play more shows in the city. NYC has influenced my sound to be more harsh, more raw, and geared towards capturing a moment. On the contrary, before moving, it had a relatively traditional structure, and I would work for a long time to write a song where the lyrics were good and they fit over the music. Now, I often record pure sound (instrumental you could say). When there are lyrics, they are often just my thoughts from that day. I make little to no use of multitracking since moving to NYC; there is often one main track that has modular synth, vocals, and feedback all together because I like the way they interact and distort in my analogue mixer. So, in this way, I am forced to have the primary recording be a true performance where everything sounds almost as I want it to sound ultimately. Also, NYC is where Obsessive Discipline had its first performances. This influenced the sound as well, because I wanted the recorded material to be reproducible live with little-to-nothing pre-recorded. Blunk:  Do you want to talk about our collab, DISCIPLE ABSCESS, at all?  Vudu:  Yes, I will mention our collaboration, DISCIPLE ABSCESS. This is maybe going to be a one-release project, as I used lots of equipment I don't own to get that sound. I recorded the instrumentals in one of NYU's studios using Buchla 100 for drums, as well as an MS-20 and Minimoog. Then, you came over and added your snarl and sweaty sounds -- we had fun recording your vocals. There is still editing that needs to be done before release.  I haven't had much of a chance to finish up that session. Villainous Marvelous 3

The more I watch the “official” spellsmiths over at Wizards of the Coast in 2020, the less worried I am that I will fundamentally break something and look like an amateur in the process. Wizards seems to be breaking stuff just fine without my help.

Anyway, that’s a topical and hopefully-dated-by-the-time-anyone-reads-this way of introducing my next marvelous villain.

Enter: The Crimson Cranium!

Sometimes, I see Wizards put an ability color A would really like to have in color B. I did really want this Hydra to be Green like literally every other Hydra in the game, but I stuck with the color scheme, didn’t try to force anything other than a creature type onto this card. Technically, this should be a Hellion, as that is a creature type more in keeping with sizeable/scalable Red fatties. The activated ability technically gives this a Green color identity, but we both know that’s not the same thing.

Also, that image I chose works well with a Red/Black and Gold frame.

This card went through sooo many revisions. You might be wondering why the focus on +1/+1 counters? Well, CC here wants to build an army and originally, I had a sort of “hydra growth” thing going on. But that felt too Green as well as a better idea for a separate card. Observe.

Back when I thought I’d be doing two colors with these guys, I figure triple red was the right price. Under the new ideal, I would probably make that activated ability cost RB.

That removal trigger is the most exciting for me. Precious few cards in all of mana specifically remove the +1/+1 and various other counters that countless cards are constantly putting on permanents. I’m pretty sure there are less than ten. So, suddenly getting the community interested in Ferropede, Leech Bonder and Medicine Runner feels llke something Wizards would spring on us.

The image is one of the Green Skulls I found when this guy was briefly Green/White tacked on just for this blog. It turns out that In addition to the Red Skull, in the comics, Captain America once had to fight a villain called the Green Skull. Yeah. Really. Look it up.

(Unsurprisingly, the comic character was an ecoterrorist.) I don’t like replicating real-world hero names (copyright issues, etc.), so this had to be changed. Also, despite the Medicine Runner precedent, that card appeared in a set full of -1/-1 counters and this ability does not feel right in this world in those colors..

In the end, I’m afraid this character is still unfinished. I’d like to see him either gain a “normal” creature type like Human and/or get more Green in his casting cost. Perhaps I could have him switch places with “Loki”...?

[Edit: I messed up the rotation on this card. This was supposed to be BRR not BBR. That means its third color should have been Blue (U). This revelation throws so much off that I reevaluated the entire Marvel Mastermind color allocation and I found that not only were there inconsistencies, but I think the corrections will make this subset of card flow much better than anticipated! Looks like Saturday’s “Corrections” blog is going to be sizeable!]
