God Loves a Cheerful Giver
1 There is no need for me to write to you about this service to the Lord’s people. 2 For I know your eagerness to help, and I have been boasting about it to the Macedonians, telling them that since last year you in Achaia were ready to give; and your enthusiasm has stirred most of them to action. 3 But I am sending the brothers in order that our boasting about you in this matter should not prove hollow, but that you may be ready, as I said you would be. 4 For if any Macedonians come with me and find you unprepared, we—not to say anything about you—would be ashamed of having been so confident. 5 So I thought it necessary to urge the brothers to visit you in advance and finish the arrangements for the generous gift you had promised. Then it will be ready as a generous gift, not as one grudgingly given.
Generosity Encouraged
6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7 Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 9 As it is written:
“They have freely scattered their gifts to the poor;    their righteousness endures forever.”
10 Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. 11 You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God.
12 This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of the Lord’s people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God. 13 Because of the service by which you have proved yourselves, others will praise God for the obedience that accompanies your confession of the gospel of Christ, and for your generosity in sharing with them and with everyone else. 14 And in their prayers for you their hearts will go out to you, because of the surpassing grace God has given you. 15 Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift! — 2 Corinthians 9 | New International Version (NIV) Holy Bible, New International Version®, NIV® Copyright ©1973, 1978, 1984, 2011 by Biblica, Inc.® All rights reserved worldwide. Generosity and Thanksgiving (2 Corinthians 9:6-15)
Those who have small hearts will only realize small blessings. But those who plant many seeds of generosity and gratitude will see abundant blessings.
Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. As…

The Kingdom law of restitution and generosity
The Kingdom law of restitution and generosity
Today we will be looking at the topic of the Kingdom of God. Within God’s Kingdom, the law of God provides the guide for all behaviors that God expects of his people. One of the primary boundaries of God’s law concerns security of individual belongings where stealing is prohibited. Interestingly, God’s solution for discouraging theft is its exact opposite: a type of forced generosity. Those who…

2 Corinthians 9, Reed's Version
Now, I know I don’t need to write to you about this collection for God’s people in Jerusalem, since I’m well aware of your eager generosity. I keep bragging to the Macedonians about how your whole province of Achaia has been ready since last year, and your enthusiasm has incited many others to action. That being said, I am still sending the brothers to make sure that our bragging does not prove to be empty words, since I told them that you’d be ready. If any of the brothers from Macedonia come with me later and see that you haven’t prepared anything yet for the collection, I’ll be embarrassed, and you as well. So that’s why I found it necessary to ask these brothers to visit you ahead of me and help prepare the love gift which you had promised. That way, if everything is prepared in advance, you’ll be able to give lovingly and not begrudgingly.
The point is, whoever plants little, harvests little; but whoever plants with love, harvests with love. Everyone should do what they have decided is right in their hearts, not with hesitation or under coercion. God loves it when we give cheerfully. But God will generously provide you help, with the grace you need in every circumstance to always be generous with selfless acts, since you have everything you need. It’s just like Scripture says, “They freely gave gifts to the poor; such virtue will exist forever.”
And God, who gives us seed to plant and bread to eat, will provide you with all you need for the harvest from your generosity to not only grow but overflow. In every circumstance God is making you rich so that you can be generous, which will result in thanksgiving to God when we deliver the gift. You see, this ministry which serves God’s people in Jerusalem won’t merely meet their needs but will also cause many to erupt into thanksgiving to God. Your participation in this collection is evidence of your obedience to the message about Christ which you profess; they praise God for this and for your sincere partnership with them and all the others. And their hearts go out to you in prayer because of the extraordinary favor of God on you. Thank God for this indescribable gift!

I think addictions or eating disorders are more like the thorn in the flesh Paul talked about.
And less like a false idol that offends God.
Paul's thorn was not Paul's God.

“For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” —Philippians 4:13 (NLT)
“Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.” —2 Corinthians 12:9 (NLT)
“But those who trust in the Lord for help will find their strength renewed. They will rise on wings like eagles; they will run and not get weary; they will walk and not grow weak.” —Isaiah 40:31 (GNT)
Friend, God loves you, He is with you, He is mighty to save and He is faithful. There is nothing He can't do. May your weekend overflow with breakthroughs and blessings, through Him who gives power and strength! Amen! 🙏🕊️🙌

"THAT CONTAINER IS LYING ABOUT ITS CONTENTS"
Matthew 7:15, “Be on your guard against false prophets; they come to you LOOKING LIKE SHEEP on the OUTSIDE, but on the INSIDE they are really like wild WOLVES.” (GNT) My two favorite seasons are Winter and Fall! Winter, because I love Christmas, snow, carols, decorations and the like. And Fall, because I love the colors, Thanksgiving, the start of the scent of fireplaces, but most of all,…

2 Corinthians 9:13–15
My translation:
13 Through the approvedness of this service they are glorifying God on the basis of the subjection of your confession unto the good news of the Anointed and the sincere generosity of the sharing unto them and unto all, 14 and while they are yearning for you in prayer on your behalf on account of the surpassing grace of God upon you. 15 Grace be to God on the basis of his unrelatable gift.
Notes:
9:13
This sentence (v. 13–14) can be difficult. The participle δοξάζοντες stands for an indicative verb, and is modified by two prepositions, διὰ and ἐπὶ, the latter of which has two objects (ὑποταγῇ and ἁπλότητι).
διά with the genitive generally denotes instrumentality, but here it ‘is indistinguishable from διά with accusative denoting cause’ (NIGTC). ἡ δοκιμή can refer to the process of testing (as in 2:9, 8:2) or, as here, the result; “proof”, NASB, HCSB; “evidence”, NET; BDAG: “approved character”. The genitive τῆς διακονίας, modified by attributive ταύτης (“this service/ministry”), is subjective (“the proof provided by this ministry”). The prepositional phrase διὰ τῆς δοκιμῆς modifies the present participle δοξάζοντες (from δοξάζω) which stands for an indicative verb. Since the form of participles does not communicate grammatical person, the ‘subject’ of the independent participle may be any plural pronoun, “we”, “you” (NRSV), or “they” (most translations). τὸν θεὸν is the direct object of δοκιμάζω.
ἡ ὑποταγή (4x) is, “subjection, subordination” (BDAG), from ὑποτάσσω “I submit, subject”; “submission”, ESV; most translations: “obedience”. The preposition ἐπὶ denotes basis with the dative τῇ ὑποταγῇ, modifying δοξάζω above.
ἡ ὁμολογία (6x) is, “[the act of] professing, confessing” (BDAG), from ὁμολογέω “I confess”. The genitive τῆς ὁμολογίας, modified by subjective genitive ὑμῶν, could be subjective with ὑποταγῇ (“the obedience resulting from your confession”) or epexegetic (“the obedience consisting of your confession”). The preposition εἰς with τὸ εὐαγγέλιον (unusually) is referential, denoting the object of the ὁμολογία (“confession of the gospel”). The genitive τοῦ Χριστοῦ is objective or descriptive (“the gospel about Christ”).
The preposition ἐπὶ and the dative article τῇ above govern also ἁπλότητι (“simplicity, sincerity”; see note on 1:12), indicating basis with δοξάζω. κοινωνία here (see note on 6:14) probably denotes the idea of “sharing” (NIV, HCSB, NET; NASB: “contribution”), in which case the genitive τῆς κοινωνίας is subjective (“the generosity of your sharing”). The preposition εἰς with αὐτοὺς and πάντας denotes advantage (“for them and for all”). Alternatively, since it seems odd that Paul would say that the Corinthians are sharing εἰς πάντας, κοινωνία may here have the wider sense of, “fellowship, partnership” (so ICC).
9:14
Although it is possible to take αὐτῶν δεήσει with verse 13, it seems best to take δεήσει (“prayer”; see note on 1:11) as an instrumental (“by praying”), spatial (“in their prayers”), or attendant circumstance (“as they pray”) dative with αὐτῶν ... ἐπιποθούντων (present participle from ἐπιποθέω “I long for, yearn”; see note on 5:2), a genitive absolute construction indicating contemporaneous-time (“while they long for you in prayer”) with δοξάζοντες (v. 13). When the verb ἐπιποθέω ‘depicts interpersonal relations it gains the sense of “have deep affection for”’ (NIGTC). ὑμᾶς is the direct object of the participle. The prepositional phrase ὑπὲρ ὑμῶν indicates advantage with δεήσει.
The preposition διὰ with τὴν ... χάριν is causal with ἐπιποθέω above. The present feminine participle ὑπερβάλλουσαν (from ὑπερβάλλω “I surpass”; see note on 3:10) is attributive with τὴν ... χάριν. The genitive τοῦ θεοῦ with χάριν indicates source, and the prepositional phrase ἐφʼ ὑμῖν is spatial.
9:15
χάρις (“thanks”) is the subject of an implied verb such as the optative εἴη. τῷ θεῷ is a dative of advantage.
The hapax legomenon ἀνεκδιήγητος is, “indescribable” (BDAG), from α + ἐκδιηγέομαι (2x) “I narrate, declare”, itself an intensified form of διηγέομαι (8x) “I relate, describe, narrate”. The compound term does not appear in sources before the NT, and thus may have been coined by Paul.
ἡ δωρεά (11x) is, “gift”, near equivalent to τό δῶρον (19x); HELPS says the feminine noun ‘expresses a brand of giving that highlights the beneficent desire of the giver’. ἀνεκδιηγήτῳ is attributive with τῇ ... δωρεᾷ. αὐτοῦ, referring to God, is a genitive of source. The preposition ἐπὶ denotes basis.
