Lost Fic #156
Not specific lost fics, but I’ve spent weeks looking for fics likes these and haven’t really managed to find any, so we’re throwing them out in the hope our followers know of some!…
1. Hello dear fic dealers, Do you by chance have any fics in which one of them gets replaced by someone who pretends to be them. whether through possession or a polyjuice style spell, just a story in which one has been replaced by a look a like. Bonus points if they get found out (or is v obvious) because the intruder drastically misunderstands azicrows relationship. If this fic doesn't exist I'll write it. - @queercomesthesun (we have an #impersonation tag, but I couldn't find any fics we haven't already recommended)

Rule Number 6: Never work out with Blue around

Now that I have finished writing the one shots for the upcoming events, I can finally focus on writing more spontaneous ones.
It has been a while since I have last written some Drue so here you go!

Warnings: Suggestive (Blue is to blame), filthy simping (yes, it is still Blue)
Synopsis: On the rare days when Dream found himself unable to work or unable to read a single additional sheet of paperwork without going insane, there was one thing that he always liked to do without feeling like he was slacking off: working out.
It helped him to stay fit for upcoming raids and fights, was beneficial for his health and most importantly, was grounding and a change of pace. He quite enjoyed it.
Though lately, he has discovered that perhaps someone enjoyed it even more than he did, or at least, enjoyed watching him do it more than he took pleasure in doing the activity.

Whenever Dream found himself walking toward the training room, the latter would somehow appear right there and then, no matter if he was supposed to be working at that time or not. He would always be here, no exception recorded to this date.
He had long since stopped trying to understand how the younger one was always aware of such information and frankly, he had learned not to mind his presence while he was just doing his own thing.
However, that acceptance only seemed to work against him as Blue, usually only watching him had started to ‘participate’ in his session.
In his own way.
“Blue, can I ask what in the world you are doing?” Dream, who had been doing pushups peacefully for a few minutes, suddenly asked, interrupted by his boyfriend suddenly sitting up on his lower back.
His rhythm was slightly interrupted, but he kept going up and down, only at a slower pace. The additional weight was not making the exercise that much more difficult, to his surprise.
That, or his performance was just enhanced by his magic itself being fueled by the odd amusement Blue took in doing this.
“I’m just helping you get stronger, Darling~” He responded in a sing-song voice, getting himself comfortable and swinging one of his legs on the other side of Dream’s body. Now, he was more or less straddling him. “This has become far too easy for you, it’s not a bad thing to test ourselves once in a while!”
Dream was unable to see him yet, he could perfectly picture the wide grin that was most likely stretching his lips as he spoke. “It’s a warm-up Blue, it’s not supposed to be difficult.” He retorted, yet not showing any signs of discomfort or even attempting to get Blue off of him.
The latter certainly noticed, his grin stretching even wider. “You don’t sound that much bothered though, angel. Does it really matter then?”
Dream avoided answering, preferring to continue his pushups like the latter wasn’t there.
Dream closed his eyes and started to focus again.
154... 155... 156...
His eyebrow twitched when he felt the other suddenly laying the weight of his entire upper body onto his back, his face right next to Dream’s ear.
“Let me guess, that’s another way to make this trickier for me?” A hum close to his ear answered him.
“You learn fast.” Blue chuckled, making Dream go even slower. He cursed as he realized he had completely forgotten how many he had done so far.
Again, Blue seemed to read his mind and chuckled again. “You’re at 164 pushups, darling. Am I distracting you?” He tilted his head innocently.
“No, of course not.” He frowned, his pride halting the idea of admitting the truth to Blue, even if he knew the other was definitely aware of his thoughts. The latter seemed to take even more pleasure in staying here than he did initially, enjoying Dream’s reactions way more now that he was starting to get tired.
“Is that so?” Blue purred, tracing a little heart on Dream’s nape. “I don’t really think you mean that Angel.”
Dream’s eyebrow twitched, of course he would start teasing him! “I am perfectly capable of keeping track of that, thank you very much.”
“Then how many have you done so far?”
Dream opened his mouth only to close it once he realized he really did not have an answer to that. He had been too distracted by their conversation to really focus on what he was doing.
“...” If Blue’s amused giggle was anything to go by, he probably knew that the other was unable to answer his question.
“Well?” He arched his eyebrow, trying to keep his grin as discreet as possible. Though, that was obviously a failure as the corners of his lips twitched upward. Dream was, however, far too embarrassed to really comment on that.
Or to speak at all for that matter, he had not uttered a single word yet.
“Are you not even going to give me the pleasure of hearing your voice?” He purred in his ear, his finger tracing down his shoulder blade, trying to get a reaction out of him.
Dream eventually just sighed and stabilized in the air, twisting his neck to look at Blue. “You can get off now, I’m going to do something else.”
The other almost looked disappointed it was over but complied anyway, standing up as Dream got more into a kneeling position. He stood up pretty quickly, wanting to dodge a potential flirty joke Blue could throw his way.
They were still in the training room , and anyone could catch them talking. It was already bad enough that he let Blue do as he pleased like that. He really should make sure not to let the other indulge in too many guilty pleasures like that (even if Dream was certain his boyfriend did not, in fact, feel any guilt in enjoying those things.)
Though, as much as he told himself things like that, as much as he promised himself never to let Blue get away with things like this again, he knew that he would never do anything to really stop him.
Blue knew that too of course, which is why he did not even bother trying to stop enjoying himself, even and especially if it could potentially embarrass his boyfriend.
Blue walked back to the bench, where he was in the beginning of the session, and sat down there while Dream headed toward the weights in the other corner of the room.
The other followed the older one with his eyes, a grin still tugging at the corner of his lips. His mood was light, and nothing seemed to ruin it.
That theory only seemed to be proven by how Dream started shedding his jacket (his vision must have healed by at least 2 points) and picked up a weight, moving it up and down and damn the sight of those arms flexing was a blessing.
He was shamelessly looking at Dream, and the other, while looking up once or twice in his direction, did not say anything to him.
After an hour of this, without anyone stepping into the training room and interrupting whatever moment Dream and Blue were having in there, Dream finally deemed the exercise enough and joined Blue, breathless.
He found the latter smiling, waiting for him with his arm raised, already handing him a bottle of water.
The winged man thanked him quietly, popping the bottle open and tilting his head backward as he drank, moving the front of his shirt away from his body feeling way too warm for comfort.
Blue used to laugh at the cliché scene in movies and anime where the main love interest would be done exercising and be depicted as ethereal as they hydrated, with a pink background with hearts and everything.
Well, would you look at who is laughing now?
Blue was not making it hard for Dream to guess that he quite liked what he was seeing, his pupils seconds away from being hearts as he stared at him.
Dream almost wanted to laugh but he did not act on it, preferring to end this scene and throw the bottle away, having drunk its whole contents.
Blue pouted but was quick to stand up again, standing by his side.
He made a move to cling to his arm as he usually did but this time, Dream clicked his tongue and put a hand on his shoulder, stopping him and sticking him in place. Blue made a betrayed noise as he looked up, staring at the taller man’s eyes with both confusion and hurt shining on the surface of his blue eyes.
“Trust me, you don’t want to be touching me right now.” Blue pouted even more, crossing his arms around his chest, and turning away from his boyfriend, muttering something along the lines of “Said who?” He made a mental note to text Hacker about this later.
Dream sighed at his reaction, nudging his knuckles with his fingertips. “I never said we couldn’t hold hands.”
Blue brightened up again and happily intertwined their hands, though now pestering him to promise him cuddles after a shower. The other nodded absently to his suggestions, though still a smile on his face.

Finished Blazing Blade (FE7) Hector Hard Mode tonight!
Earlier this year, I decided on the long term goal of attempting to finish every mainline Fire Emblem game on the hardest difficulty. There's 8 of them I haven't even played yet (FE1-6 and the two DS games), and most of the games I have I've only finished on easier difficulties, so... there's a lot to do. When they released Blazing Blade on Nintendo Switch Online over the summer, that felt like a good place to start making serious effort towards this goal.
One unfortunate catch, though: I was starting from a new save file. And Hector Hard is unlocked by completing Hector Normal. And Hector is unlocked by completing Eliwood. And I decided I wanted to do Eliwood Hard as well. So in the end I did 4 different playthroughs of the game over the past several months. Suffice to say I've had enough of Blazing Blade for a very long time if not forever, lol. I am NOT going to miss the overly limited deployment slots.
Character and chapter info:
Farina (431 Battles / 271 Wins / 1 Loss)
Girl!
I planned on her being my main late-game carry since before the playthrough even began, and she performed far better than I even expected. She did get a good number of statboosters (Afa's Drops, Angelic Robe, 2 Goddess Icons, Talisman, Boots, Body Ring), but her four capped stats were (aside from Afa's Drops) all capped naturally. She had 18 Defense after promotion! She soloed a ton of late game without any trouble at all.
Florina (309 Battles / 184 Wins / 4 Losses)
Also Girl!
With the help of Lyn Mode statboosters she was my main carry until Farina came along, at which point she was still very useful but was outclassed by What The Hell Farina How Do You Have So Much Defense. Her absurd luck was incredibly helpful against all the Luna enemies.
Oswin (281 Battles / 138 Wins / 1 Loss)
Very lucky Oswin here, with almost every stat being above average. Turns out having an utterly absurd Defense stat is pretty good.
Hector (268 Battles / 116 Wins / 2 Losses)
...Very mediocre. 8 Skill before promotion... that he can't do until there's like 5 chapters left... ow ow ow. This game sure does have some baffling design choices.
Bartre (255 Battles / 149 Wins / 0 Losses)
Was required to use him for full recruitment, but then uhhh what the hell Bartre? What are these stats how are you 4 above average in both Skill and Speed oh my god.
Raven (221 Battles / 134 Wins / 2 Losses)
His level ups were largely not great, but he did get a LOT of Luck levels early on to shore up his main weakness and was otherwise carried by his absurd Hard Mode bases.
Fiora (203 Battles / 133 Wins / 1 Loss)
The least useful of the Pegasus Sisters this playthrough due to her lower strength, but still had a very nice niche with her Res. She got to be my main carry in Eliwood Hard at least!
Eliwood (156 Battles / 82 Wins / 0 Losses)
Pretty good Strength and Speed, though ultimately didn't get used too much.
Marcus (89 Battles / 52 Wins / 0 Losses)
Performed his Jagen role admirably.
Guy (78 Battles / 44 Wins / 0 Losses)
Being my first Hard Mode Bonuses character, I tried to use him, but then he failed to get a single point of Strength in 10 levels and was too weak to keep up.
Lyn (63 Battles / 34 Wins / 0 Losses)
Promoted at Level 17. I tried to use her early (especially thanks to aiming for Linus's Four-Fanged Offense) but her strength and defenses were just too awful to be worth using after that point.
Legault (26 Battles / 11 Wins / 2 Losses)
Yup he sure did steal things while having additional limited combat utility.
Serra (18 Battles / 5 Wins / 0 Losses)
My main staff user until Pent arrived, though she still stuck around whenever deployment slots actually allowed for it.
Pent (12 Battles / 6 Wins / 0 Losses)
Didn't get used much for combat, but he became my main staff user late-game.
Athos (6 Battles / 3 Wins / 0 Losses)
Yup he sure did a good job of "guaranteed final boss kill with Luna and some speed statboosters".
Ninian/Nils (3 Battles / 0 Wins / 0 Losses, combined)
I told myself this would be the playthrough I would actually use the rings more and then I still had barely used them by the time the game was over, oops. Oh well.

This is the start of massive turn count bloat due to going for supports (mainly Hector/Farina A, and later Eliwood/Lyn A just because). The GBA support system is such terrible nonsense. But anyway, first chapter with Farina, and I took advantage of all the monks that could do nothing to her to grind her to Level 2 promoted. She ended the chapter with 18 defense!!
Ch26 Unfulfilled Heart (12 Turns)
Decided to go for the Armory on the final turn, which 18 Defense Farina + Nini's Grace was able to do while surviving Vaida easily.
Ch27 Pale Flower of Darkness [Jerme] (98 Turns).
Aimed for Jerme's because I did Kenneth in my EHM playthrough, and Hard Mode bonuses favor the Jerme units regardless. Got Harken because I wanted to try him out with Hard Mode bonuses… and then never used him, but I did at least use his Brave Sword. Another bloated turn count due to supports.
Ch28 Battle Before Dawn (16 Turns)
Farina rushed for Ursula and nearly soloed everything in the way, making this chapter easy once reinforcements were stopped.
Ch28x Night of Farewells (98 Turns)
Another chapter with Farina rushing for the boss to stop reinforcements, killing Sonia on Turn 3. And then the rest was spent slowly cleaning things up while being terrified of the status staff enemies, and then spending forever to finally reach Hector/Farina A.
Ch29 Cog of Destiny (40 Turns)
Florina got unexpectedly hit by a Berserk staff early on, which was terrifying but then none of the enemies around her managed to actually do anything to her.
Ch30 The Berserker (20 Turns)
I gave it a decent amount of tries with Hector + Legault to try to steal the statboosters, but had way too much trouble and my strat required a lot of luck so I decided to not bother and cleared it super easily with Hector + Farina.
Ch31 Sands of Time (12 Turns)
Warped to and killed the boss Turn 1, making the rest of the chapter mostly fairly simple (...mainly thanks to getting lucky dodges against the status staff enemies).
Ch31x Battle Preparations (6 Turns)
Ch32 Victory or Death (18 Turns)
This chapter felt incredibly overwhelming. Farina could take on basically everyone by herself, but there being so many enemies meant she had to return to the main group to restock her weapons, and I also wanted to get every village. I thought the attempt was lost midway through, but I guess there's a 50 enemy limit, so a lot of the reinforcements I was worried about and expecting didn't show up.
Ch32x The Value of Life (33 Turns)
Spent most of this chapter feeding kills to Hector because I felt like it, which is how he ended the game at Level 18.
Final Light (20 Turns)
Finished off Nergal with an unnecessary Farina Triangle Attack, then killed the Dragon with the guaranteed Athos + Luna.

February 18, 2024 Draft

3 player draft. 4 packs of 15 each. Take 2 cards each pick. Discard the last 3 cards of each pack. 3 Cogwork Librarians each.
This is a case study in draft parameters. On the spot, I decided to go with the quickest, simplest, draft procedure I could think of. It worked, kind of, but ended up (predicably in retrospect) feeling a lot closer to Sealed than I would like.
There's a whole bunch that goes into what experience you get from a draft procedure, but I was going for quick and simple, and parameters. Most importantly, I had a lovely time with my friends, and I'm glad they had me over to hang out, and playing Magic was a small part of that 🩷.
But since I can't shut up, once you've figured out satisficing draft parameters (i.e. you have a procedure that will give players a pool of cards of the desired size), the biggest driver of "draft feel" is the percentage of cards you see that you get to pick.
Some key limited set ups:
Typical 8 players, 3 packs of 15: 360 cards opened, 276 cards seen, 45 cards picked = 16%
8 player roto draft: 360 cards opened, 353-360 cards "seen", 45 cards picked = 13%
Sealed: 90 cards opened, 90 cards seen, 90 cards "picked"= 100%
This draft format: 180 cards opened, 156 cards seen, 51 cards picked = 33%
There is nuance when it comes to hidden, public, and inferable information, pool sizes, the way drafters influence each other, and so on, but I find this number is a great first order approximation of player agency and the expected level of focus in deck building. Where a draft procedure falls on this spectrum trickles down to deck power, focus, the draft experience, and gameplay.
This draft, as a result, felt a lot more like Sealed, as we had to make do a lot more than you normally would. Decks have more hole-fillers (and conspicuous gaps) than you'd find in a typical draft.
This was my 1-1 (3-2) Gruul Field of the Dead deck. Field came online repeatedly, fueled by my suite of check lands, which felt almost free here. Who needs ABUR duals (especially when you've got no fetches)?
I was leaning to forcing Green, cuz I don't play it much, but ML was taking a lot of the pieces so I ended up here. I was able to power through the Mono-White matchup, with Plow Under sealing off both games for me. Pest Infestation for X=2 was repeatedly great.
As we've seen many times, Sublime Archangel can provide the game-defining clock. SF used it in this 1-1 (2-2) Mono-White build in combination with Angel of Invention to quick swing a game where the life totals had been at 28 to 8 or something.
Elspeth continues providing value that isn't super exciting but helps alter game states. I also keep getting higher on both mono-colour lands, and cards that reward commitment to colours, like Figure of Destiny and Spectral Procession, both well-used here.
On the other end of the spectrum, here's one of the grindiest decks I've seen in a long time: ML's 1-1 (2-3) Abzan Tokens. This machine makes big boards. We got cats, wolves, and zombies going all at once. Grave Titan keeps being a menace that feels just this side of fair. The Achilles heel was the sky—faced up against angels and failing to draw End-Raze Forerunners, this deck ran out of gas.
In my match I didn't have anything that could help me break open the board, and it reached the point where decking myself was a possibility, but Parallax Wave provided a merciful finish.
Really interesting was seeing how much this deck was punished for running 3 colours. We see a lot of 3 colour decks, and with the lands I took to fuel Field of the Dead, ML didn't have the strongest fixing suite, which lead to some disappointing plays for Intrepid Adversary and Wolfbriar Elemental. I love 3-colour decks being viable, but I also like the dynamic of some cards being knee-capped in those situations.
Tyvar got some use, and Parallax Wave wasn't too too confusing. Love that. Wizards, steal my templating.

Private sector manufacturing investments drive record new investments in India in 2022-23
India witnessed a record surge in new investments in the January-to-March quarter of 2022, with total fresh investments reaching ₹14.6 lakh crore ($196 billion), according to data from investment monitoring firm Projects Today. Private sector investments accounted for ₹10.5 lakh crore ($140 billion) of the total, marking an all-time high. The fourth-quarter surge in investments was driven by a significant uptick in manufacturing investments, which led to a total of ₹37 lakh crore ($496 billion) in new investment projects announced during the financial year 2022-23, a 92% increase compared to the previous year.
The data also revealed a notable shift in the nature of investments, with private-sector manufacturing investments surpassing public-sector-driven infrastructure-focused capital expenditures as the dominant source of capital formation. This trend is seen as positive for the Indian government, which has been urging the private sector to invest more to boost economic growth amid a slowing global economy. Manufacturing investments in the fourth quarter of 2022-23 were almost three times the average of the previous three quarters, totaling nearly ₹9.6 lakh crore ($128 billion), with the share of planned manufacturing outlays increasing from an average of 45% in the first three quarters to almost 66% in the fourth quarter. Overall, the share of private investments increased from an average of 65% in the first three quarters to 72% in the fourth quarter.
The manufacturing sector accounted for a significant share of total fresh investments, with its share increasing from 41.93% in 2021-22 to 53.66% in 2022-23. New project outlay in the manufacturing sector more than doubled from ₹8.08 lakh crore ($108 billion) in 2021-22 to over ₹19.85 lakh crore ($265 billion) in 2022-23, although the number of new manufacturing projects declined from 2,759 in 2021-22 to 1,912 in 2022-23.
In terms of government and private sector investments, Central and State government investment projects grew by 95% to ₹11.68 lakh crore ($156 billion) in 2022-23 from just under ₹6 lakh crore ($80 billion) in 2021-22. Private sector investments jumped by 90.7% to ₹25.32 lakh crore ($338 billion) in 2022-23 from ₹13.27 lakh crore ($177 billion) in the previous year. Foreign investments also grew at a faster rate, though on a smaller base, reaching ₹4.73 lakh crore ($63 billion) in 2022-23 compared to ₹2.17 lakh crore ($29 billion) in 2021-22.
Andhra Pradesh emerged as the top state for fresh investments in 2022-23, attracting 306 projects worth ₹7.65 lakh crore ($102 billion), including 57 mega projects with investments of ₹7.28 lakh crore ($97 billion). Gujarat, which topped the list of investment plans in 2021-22, slipped to a distant second in 2022-23 with 1,008 new projects worth ₹4.44 lakh crore ($59 billion). Maharashtra, which recorded the second-highest investment intent in 2021-22, slipped to fourth place in 2022-23 but secured the highest number of new projects across states at 1,639. Karnataka secured investment projects worth ₹4.33 lakh crore ($58 billion), surpassing Maharashtra in terms of investments. Other states that attracted significant investments in 2022-23 included Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and West Bengal.

Zion, Rachel and Firstborn

Per my last post I believe the correct interpretation of Revelation 12 is that the woman in travail is Heavenly Zion and Rachel is a type of Heavenly Zion as the redeemed bride.
As I have also posted, the 12th chapter of Revelation is tied to the 12th letter of the Hebrew alphabet Lamed. Lamed is tied to the idea of authority or dominion. Revelation 12 is about authority or dominion.
Since I believe Zion is the Heavenly Authority of the 12th chapter of Revelation, I looked at the 12th use of Zion in the Bible.
Psalm 48:2 Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.
This is a perfect match to Rachel. Zion is called beautiful which is Strong’s H3303. Rachel is called beautiful also using Strong’s H3303.
Genesis 29:17 Leah was tender eyed; but Rachel was beautiful and well favoured.
Another interesting tidbit of Psalm 48 is that it is recited on the second day of the week after the morning prayers. There is a psalm for each day of the week and it corresponds to each day of creation thus Psalm 48 corresponds to day 2 of creation.
In day two of creation God separated the waters above and below and created the firmament or what the Bible calls Heaven.
Genesis 1:8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
Recall the woman of revelation 12 was in heaven and Zion is called Heavenly Jerusalem.
Revelation 12:1 And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet, and upon her head a crown of twelve stars:
Hebrews 12:22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,
Now if you continue to the next verse in Hebrews you see that Mount Zion is not only heavenly Jerusalem, but also the church of the firstborn who are already written in heaven.
Hebrews 12:23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,
Zion has a gematria of 1060 in Hebrews 12:22. In Hebrews 12:23 Zion is called the church of the firstborn. Strong’s H1060=”firstborn”. Firstborn is an important concept in the old testament. God was given the firstborn of all Israelites and their animals.
Exodus 13:2 Sanctify unto me all the firstborn, whatsoever openeth the womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of beast: it is mine.
The gematria of Zion in the Old testament is 156 matching the gematria of Rachel’s firstborn Joseph.
Joseph was not the firstborn of Jacob, he was actually the 11th born son, but he received the firstborn’s double portion inheritance in that his 2 sons Manasseh and Ephraim were each given a share and each became one of the 12 tribes. (There is no tribe of Joseph and Levi became the workers of the tabernacle and their inheritance is God)
This verse recording Manasseh and Ephraim taking their inheritance and thus Joseph’s double portion firstborn inheritance, has a gematria of 1060 matching Zion in the NT and the Strong’s number 1060 for firstborn.
Joshua 16:4 So the children of Joseph, Manasseh and Ephraim, took their inheritance.
Strong’s G1060=”marry”. The 12th time Rachel is used in the Bible she marries Jacob.
Genesis 29:28 And Jacob did so, and fulfilled her week: and he gave him Rachel his daughter to wife also.
This concept of “firstborn” is the same as “firstfruits”. Stong’s H1061=”firstfruits”. They share the same Hebrew root. Rachel has a gematria of 238 and the in-text gematria of the first use of Strong’s H1061=”firstfruits” is 238 also.
I recently did some posts on Revelation 7 and how the 144,000 are the firstfruits of the land.
Zion’s only actual mention in the book of Revelation is in chapter 14. Jesus is pictured as a Lamb standing on Mt Zion with a 144,000.
Revelation 14:1And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads.
The Lamb alludes to Jesus as the Passover sacrifice for our redemption. The 144,000 are then called “redeemed” and “firstfruits”.
Revelation 14:4 These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb.
When we give our lives to God through the gift of redemption we are seen as “firstfruits” and “firstborn” by God. We become children of Heavenly Zion. Our names are recorded in heaven as Hebrews 12:23 states and we become “those that dwell in heaven” vs the unredeemed who are referred to as “those who dwell upon earth”.
Revelation 13:6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.
Revelation 13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Send me the name of one of my Muses you want to learn more about, and I’ll ramble about them.

Now that that's out the way. Aspis has held the place for like...my favorite to torment for years. Like even Samir and Artemis are way less time than I've ruminated on all the ways that it could go wrong for this boy. There's stuff I haven't even written on the blog or chats because it's just my special brand of fucked up and/or extreme self-indulgence. And I apologize in advance because this probably the most rambling and least cohesive of the ones I have written.
The fact there are so many bad ends I've concocted just tells me Aspis is hanging onto his sanity by a thread. One that is frayed and staying with hopes and prayers. He is also one of the biggest proof that bonds are the way to go if someone for some reason wants to save my muse. Like he is the biggest derailment of his original plot. Like to the point, I'm almost going to toss the original plot. And this is not a complaint! I'm genuinely intrigued as to how one can, essentially, have their fate changed.
That being said, I have given enough ambiguous plot points to have any number of weird things go on for him. Namely his strong spiritual power, being from a supposedly long dead family line, and his sketchy adolescence. Like it sounds like a lot of things but the point for me is to give possibilities, not all of them would ever be pursued but it gives the opportunity.
Like with the spiritual power, there's so many things. From seeing some interesting things while a lot of the world will not notice. As well as stuff like possession, probably a good sacrifice to some gateway to hell (thanks for that F.atal F.rame), and of course interactions with the dead. All are things that could be fun to explore and because Aspis is inexperienced with this power, just...room for either funnies or really sad things because he doesn't know a better way.
His family line has had all sorts of things associated with them but because of their nature, it's not clear what's true and what's legend. And as it's pretty much also lost itself, Aspis doesn't know what they are either. The funniest thought I had about it was if there was some long lived being that was like ‘hey, your family said they’d do x or I have a score to settle from y years ago.’ Cliché but I do love those ones.
There’s also the idea that his family were ‘beloved’ for some reason. I have thought about if this ‘affection’ is...not quite good. The most specific was like some angelic-like being that wanted a songbird...because their musical talent is the only thing that I can admit is canon amongst them (there are several muses from the same bloodline as Aspis but they’re separated by like...centuries). There has also been the consideration that someone in his family had ended up being ‘blessed’ by the god of destruction, currently going by Noctis, which showing up now for Aspis turns into more of curse. And considering he’s already cursed, really blows.
His dubious adolescence is probably the most recent development but one I’m rather fond of because it gives opportunity to meet other muses of dubious background. And it could be friendship, could be mentorship, could be ‘oh god, I stole from them. Fu--’ anything goes. And it just ends up being almost comical because his friends think he’s just sweet and good and how ever could he end up with anything seedy? Aspis is just a nice contradiction like that. And this was between his training to become a hunter so there is the question of how he had time...and really it just goes with his surprisingly self-destructive being.
I’m not sure if it was ever made known to others but Aspis had an insane workaholic-like time frame for years between his cadet years and becoming good friends with his coworkers in the European branch of the Bastion. Like since he was unsupervised anyway, he spent that time basically getting money to get him a better start for his hunter career equipment wise and training himself...unconventionally in the process. And when he did get licensed, he spent so much time making up for failed assignments with others so that he didn’t fall behind. Think like...black company sort of overtime, that’s what Aspis was up to.
Okay I gotta stop somewhere or I’ll spend all night on like....all the terrible stuff that is up with this boy. I know certain people will be like ‘let him rest’ and I am like ‘tell him that!’

Nhl 20 waivers
Koskinen had a hot start, then cooled off, and has seen his rostered percentage rise and fall like a roller coaster. Goaltending Mikko Koskinen, G, Edmonton Oilers (61% Rostered) With 75 hits and 67 blocks, he’s worth streaming from the waiver wire until the offense dries up. He has 13 points in 42 contests this season, so he’s more than doubled his point total in that short span. In his past four outings, he’s posted seven points. Many, including myself, dropped him as it seemed the offense just wasn’t there this year. It was quite the opposite for the longest time, as Holl didn’t find the scoresheet until his 20th game of the campaign. Holl posted 18 and 21 points in his previous two seasons, so expectations going into 2021-22 were that he’d score at a similar rate again. Justin Holl, D, Toronto Maple Leafs (11% Rostered) He’s a lock in the Devils’ top four, averaging 20:58 of ice time per night. This is related to the also incorrect possibility to bury a player in the AHL during off-season so as to not risk having to waiver him when the season starts. I think that it's correct, I am not 100% sure, but in the pre-season there should be more time.

Esketamine, also known as (S)-ketamine or S(+)-ketamine, is the S(+) enantiomer of ketamine,[4][10] is a dissociative hallucinogen drug used as a general anesthetic and as an antidepressant for treatment of depression. It is sold under the brand names Spravato (for depression), Ketanest (for anesthesia), among others.[8][4][11][12] Esketamine is the active enantiomer of ketamine in terms of NMDA receptor antagonism and is more potent than racemic ketamine.[13]

Adverse effects of esketamine include dissociation, dizziness, sedation, nausea, vomiting, vertigo, numbness, anxiety, lethargy, increased blood pressure, and feelings of drunkenness.[8] Less often, esketamine can cause bladder problems.[8][16] Esketamine acts primarily as a N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor antagonist but also has other actions.[4][10]
In the form of racemic ketamine, esketamine was first synthesized in 1962 and introduced for medical use as an anesthetic in 1970.[17] Enantiopure esketamine was introduced for medical use as an anesthetic in 1997 and as an antidepressant in 2019.[4][8][18] It is used as an anesthetic in the European Union and as an antidepressant in the United States and Canada.[18][19][20] Due to misuse liability as a dissociative hallucinogen, esketamine is a controlled substance.

ABSTRACT
Objective: To describe the tolerability of esketamine nasal spray based on the adverse event profile observed during treatment sessions occurring early and later over the course of treatment.
Methods: In 2 long-term, phase 3 studies (NCT02493868, October 1, 2015–February 16, 2018; NCT02497287, September 30, 2015–October 28, 2017), patients with treatment-resistant major depressive disorder (per DSM-5) and nonresponse to ≥ 2 oral antidepressants received esketamine nasal spray (56 or 84 mg) twice weekly during a 4-week induction phase, weekly for weeks 5–8, and weekly or every 2 weeks thereafter as maintenance treatment, in conjunction with a new oral antidepressant. A post hoc analysis using descriptive statistics evaluated occurrence (incidence, frequency, severity) and recurrence (incidence and severity) of events of specific interest.
Results: In patients treated with esketamine nasal spray plus a newly initiated oral antidepressant (n = 928), spontaneously reported adverse events of dizziness, nausea, sedation, vertigo, and increased blood pressure were more likely to recur after the first week of treatment if they occurred more frequently (twice > once > none) during the first week. The same pattern was observed when these events were assessed by structured instruments. Incidences of dizziness, dissociation, increased blood pressure, nausea, vertigo, and sedation were highest in week 1 of treatment (20.6%, 16.7%, 4.3%, 14.0%, 12.1%, and 3.8%, respectively) and decreased thereafter. Initial occurrences and subsequent recurrences of events were mostly mild or moderate in severity.
Conclusions: Adverse events during treatment with esketamine nasal spray plus an oral antidepressant generally become less frequent with ongoing treatment, and the majority are mild or moderate in severity.

Ketamine for pain and treatment-resistant depression
Ketamine is a dissociative anesthetic used medically for induction and maintenance of anesthesia. It is also used as a recreational drug. It is one of the safest anesthetics, as, in contrast with opiates, ether, and propofol, it suppresses neither respiration nor heart rate. Ketamine is also simple to administer and highly tolerable compared to drugs with similar effects which are flammable, irritating, or even explosive. Ketamine is a novel compound, derived from PCP, created in pursuit of a safer anesthetic with similar characteristics. Ketamine is also used for acute pain management.[19][20]
At anesthetic doses, ketamine induces a state of "dissociative anesthesia", a trance-like state providing pain relief, sedation, and amnesia.[21] The distinguishing features of ketamine anesthesia are preserved breathing and airway reflexes, stimulated heart function with increased blood pressure, and moderate bronchodilation.[21] At lower, sub-anesthetic doses, ketamine is a promising agent for pain and treatment-resistant depression.[22] However, the antidepressant action of a single administration of ketamine wanes with time. The long-term effects of repeated use are largely unknown, and are an area of active investigation.[23][24][25]
Liver and urinary toxicity have been reported among regular users of high doses of ketamine for recreational purposes.[26] Ketamine is an NMDA receptor antagonist and that accounts for most of its actions except the antidepressive effect, the mechanism of which is a matter of much research and debate.
Ketamine was first synthesized in 1962 and approved for use in the United States in 1970. It has been regularly used in veterinary medicine and was extensively used for surgical anaesthesia in the Vietnam War.[27] When used as a recreational drug, it is found both in powder and liquid form, and is often referred to as "Special K" for its hallucinogenic and dissociative effects.[28] Along with other psychotropic drugs, it is on the World Health Organization's List of Essential Medicines.[29] It is available as a generic medication.

The first two books of Madrigals by Monteverdi date from the period in which he lived and worked in his native town Cremona. They are sublime examples of the Prima Prattica, in which Recitation of the text came first, and affects were made audible by melody, rhythm, and by playing with repetitions, strengths and harmony. In the Second Book we encounter lovely word painting and evocation of images and moods.
This is the third instalment of the complete recording of Monteverdi’s Madrigals by Le Nuove Musiche. This vocal ensemble consists of the elite of Dutch Early Music vocalists, led by eminent conductor and scholar Krijn Koetsveld. Their previous Monteverdi recordings received excellent reviews in the international press, among which a “5 star” in the French Diapason and a “10/10” in Dutch classical magazine Luister.

Claudio Giovanni Antonio Monteverdi[n 1] (baptized 15 May 1567 – 29 November 1643) was an Italian composer, string player, choirmaster, and Roman Catholic priest. A composer of both secular and sacred music, and a pioneer in the development of opera, he is considered a crucial transitional figure between the Renaissance and Baroque periods of music history.
Born in Cremona, where he undertook his first musical studies and compositions, Monteverdi developed his career first at the court of Mantua (c. 1590–1613) and then until his death in the Republic of Venice where he was maestro di cappella at the basilica of San Marco. His surviving letters give insight into the life of a professional musician in Italy of the period, including problems of income, patronage and politics.
Much of Monteverdi's output, including many stage works, has been lost. His surviving music includes nine books of madrigals, large-scale religious works, such as his Vespro della Beata Vergine (Vespers for the Blessed Virgin) of 1610, and three complete operas. His opera L'Orfeo (1607) is the earliest of the genre still widely performed; towards the end of his life he wrote works for Venice, including Il ritorno d'Ulisse in patria and L'incoronazione di Poppea.
While he worked extensively in the tradition of earlier Renaissance polyphony, as evidenced in his madrigals, he undertook great developments in form and melody, and began to employ the basso continuo technique, distinctive of the Baroque. No stranger to controversy, he defended his sometimes novel techniques as elements of a seconda pratica, contrasting with the more orthodox earlier style which he termed the prima pratica. Largely forgotten during the eighteenth and much of the nineteenth centuries, his works enjoyed a rediscovery around the beginning of the twentieth century. He is now established both as a significant influence in European musical history and as a composer whose works are regularly performed and recorded.
