so today on the ‘Mel get’s her cartilage/helix pierced’ saga:

- Got the unanimous answer, yes take that one out and let it heal and THEN repierce it where you want it

- which is making that spot itchy

- went to a place that wanted to take it out for me cause they had a ““Sterile Environment” as if my ear is not a part of me and wont get all the bacteria I encounter in a day?!?!?!

- When I said it was easy to take out and had been falling out as I washed it as instructed by the other tattoo shop*, was still met with “WELL JUST LET US TAKE THAT OUT THO”

- went down to the piercer and got told that EVERYTHING THE OTHER SHOP DID WAS HORRIFICALLY WRONG AND SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED, THEY GAVE YOU EARRINGS THAT WILL EMBED THEMSELVES AAAAAA TAKE THEM ALL OUT AND START FROM SCRATCH WITH US!!!

- When I asked what kind of earring would be safe FOR SWELLING if it had a back got a 20 minute lecture on metal safety and how they know the metals they use are SAFE because it’s been used in MEDICAL IMPLANTS FOR YEARS (making me think of the john oliver ep two weeks ago ish about how medical implants are horribly regulated and aren’t safe!! SO JOKES ON YOU BITCH) NEVER ADRESSING THE SWELLING BS

- was told washing my ears with a mild antibacterial soap was a HORRIBLE IDEA, THAT’S AN OPEN WOOOUNNNDDD. YOU WOULDN’T WASH AN OPEN WOUND WITH SOAAPPP WOULD YOUUUUU. JOKES ON HIM I WASH CUTS AND SCRAPES WITH SOAP BEFORE I BANDAGE THEM FUCKER!!

- WAS TOLD IF IT’S NOT A MIRROR POLISH IT’S LIKE SANDPAPER ON YOUR EARS AND PATRONIZED EVEN AFTER HE WAS STRUGGLING TO EXPLAIN AND I OFFERED ON A MICROSCOPIC SCALE

- was told the normal gauge (20) was SO WROOONGGG for helix piercings cause it could SHIFT AND MESS UP THE ANGLEEEE and they do it with 14gauge WHICH SOUNDS TERRIFYINGLY LARGE SCREM

- was fucking told you shouldn’t be washing your piercings with anything but esp soap cause that was just chemicals. Ur body can heal on it’s own, CHEMICALS. NEVER. HEALED. ANYTHING. IN THE BODY. LEGIT THAT’S WHAT HE SAID TO MY FUCKING FACE. BUUUUULLLLSHIIIITTTT DUUUUUDDDEEEEEEEE

- that IF I KEPT the TERRIBLE piercings that are okay they may not heal for TWO YEAAARRSS CAUSE OF WHAT THEY DID TO MEEEE. but every body is different. But things have healed in GNARLY WAYS blahblahblah

- that if I do let the two I like heal and come back in for another one there’s no way they can guarantee they’ll match the angle and othershit (which is true but fuck I’ll deal with having lost 25 on a bad piercing, but 55 and all three piercings??)

but hey it was all free? OH wait lol it was 1.50 to park there for an hour

(Mom has been suggesting I go back to the other place to at least be like HEY U DIDN’T LISTEN AND PIERCED IT SOMEWHERE I DIDN’T LIKE MAKE IT RIGHT FOR ME, but idk if I can handle that sort of confrontation :C)

*I was only washing with soap cause my ear puffed up and was red and HOT and painful and the original tattoo shop suggested washing it with soap, which TO THEIR CREDIT, started working first night

Proper Wiring Technique

I am currently creating my ls2 coil wiring harness from scratch for my '3 Miata.

The LS2 pinout is as follows

-Switched 12v

-Signal to ECU

-Signal Ground

-Coil Ground

The Signal wire is no problem, I just have to run 1 separate wire to each coil. My question is, what is the proper way to split the one 12v wire into 4 separate 12v wires (one to each coil). Same question for the two grounds.

Stuffing a source 12v wire (14gauge) into one end of a insulated butt connector and the 4 wires that lead to the coils in the other end (18 gauge wires) doesn't sound like best practice.
