Gold Star
Summary: Imp steals the star off the tree.
I borrowed the idea for calling the holiday 'Lightmas' from the fic my dear friend Kit wrote me last year.

Even after night had fallen, Imp waited a couple hours before venturing out. He crawled through the vents to the central hall, pausing at the grate to peek through. As expected, the room was empty, quiet, and dark. The Lightmas tree stood majestically off to the side where Entrapta’s servants had put it up earlier that day. Like the ones the Horde soldiers had put up every year at the Horde base, lots of little differently coloured glass bobbles hung off its branches. But unlike the trees the Horde soldiers put up and decorated, this one was huge and had a giant shiny star on top, bigger than Imp’s head.
Unable to wait any longer, he pushed open the vent grate and crawled out and onto the wall and down to the floor. He scampered over to the tree, pausing as he reached its base. Always before he had been happy to take only a low hanging bobble or two, this year though, with a bigger prize available, such would not do. And so he started climbing, carefully lest the tree shake too much and cause the ornaments fall off and break. The pine needles pricked his hands, sometimes quite painfully. It was worth it though so he kept going until he reached the top.
The star stayed in place atop the tree via a small base funnel that contained the tree’s top branches. Imp grasped that and lifted it off. As predicated, it was heavy, indicating perhaps that it was made of real gold. Unfortunately that made it difficult for Imp to handle. There’d be no holding it securely in his mouth while he climbed back down. His options were to either drop it and hope it didn’t get damaged from the fall or to keep hold of it and jump off. He chose the latter. His fall and subsequent landing were not graceful but he and the star remained unharmed.
Now came the hard part. He couldn’t do his crawling up the wall trick and keep hold of the star at the same time. This was why he’d waited until night though to reduce the chances of getting caught as he dragged it back to his room. If he did run into anyone, they’d steal the star back for sure. With Hordak no longer being the leader of the Horde or anything else, that brought Imp’s status down too; he wasn’t allowed to get away with as much stuff as he’d had before. There wasn’t much he could do about that other than hope there’d no night owls up and about wondering the halls.
The castle was thankfully empty and quiet. It was starting to look like he was going to make it home free. And then he turned into the hall that contained the room that had been designated as his. Even despite the darkness, there was no way Entrapta could miss him.
She came to a stop in front of him. “Oh, hi, Imp. I’d ask if you’re having trouble sleeping too but I doubt that’s the case. You need some help with that?”
“Help,” he played back at her in her own voice. What did she mean ‘help’? Surely, as head of the castle she’d object to having her tree’s star stolen.
Apparently not understanding that it was a question, Entrapta didn’t answer as part of her ponytail separated out to wrap around Imp and lift him off the ground. Another from the other ponytail took the star from him. So she was taking it back. He’d been so close too.
She carried him the rest of the way to his room. “Where do you want the star?” she asked as she gently deposited him in his nest made from the blankets atop the bed.
So… she was okay with it? Well, Imp wasn’t one to question good fortune. “Table,” he played in one of the servant’s voices. He’d cleared a spot for the star on his treasure table earlier, right after watching the servants put the tree and star up and deciding he wanted it.
She placed it down in that exact spot, evening balancing it so it’d stay up right. “There you go. Merry Lightmas.” And with that, she trounced back out, closing the door behind her.
Imp stared after her for a few seconds before turning to admire his new star. It was his largest stolen trinket since he’d had to abandon his old stash in the Fright Zone. Though perhaps it was bigger than anything he’d had back then too. Regardless, seems he could get away with some stuff after all, just as long as it was Entrapta or Hordak who caught him. Yet another reason to like her.

Baby Flamethrower
Summary: Pyro makes a special gift for Scout.

Pyro had made plenty of flamethrowers before, he’d been making them in some form or another for about as long as he could remember. Since he’d started making them to use specifically as weapons, they’d all been made under the assumption that he’d be weighed down by his suit. So it being big and bulky too was a given; something he tried to mitigate for ease of use but otherwise wasn’t a concern. This one wasn’t for him though. It had to be small and lightweight enough to allow one to sprint around with it.
Making one that fit that bill was easy enough even if he did have to sacrifice quite a bit of fuel capacity. The hard part was making it safe for the user. Scout didn’t typically wear any kind of fire resistant clothing so flame blow back had to be reduced to near zero. But finally after much tweaking and modifying he had something that should work while also being quick and safe to holster and unholster.
It was only a little more advanced than the classic ‘cigarette lighter plus can of hair spray haphazardly engineered into a single piece of equipment’ that had been Pyro’s go-to when first starting to build such things but it was still pretty neat. It’s range being shorter than Pyro’s full-sized flamethrowers and low fuel capacity made it a less effective weapon but maximum effectiveness wasn’t always the goal – otherwise like half the weapons the team used wouldn’t exist – and it could still be used to set people and things on fire and that’s what matter most. It was fun and the enemy being on fire more often was good for the war effort, right? But mostly it was just fun.
Except… Scout didn’t like fire as much as Pyro did. Apparently he even saw it differently; oranges and yellows instead of pretty dancing rainbows. So what if he didn’t appreciate the gift? And it was work related, what if that made it a bad gift? Pyro had heard that somewhere before, hadn’t he? What if Scout didn’t just not appreciate it but actively hated and was offended by it?
Pyro should’ve thought about these things before deciding to start working on it. He’d just been so excited by the idea though and the following thought of them working together to spread even more fire during battle than he could do by himself. It was too late to do anything else though with the Christmas party coming up in just a few days. So he’d just have give it to Scout and hope for the best.

“You sure you don’t want to come home to Boston with me?” Scout asked as Pyro joined him by the food table. It was still pretty early in the team’s Christmas party so he wasn’t drunk yet, making this a good time. “I asked Mom and she says it’s okay. I even told here about, um…” Scout gestured vaguely at Pyro. “… you know, your thing with the suit and she says she’ll handle it if anyone wants to make fun of you or whatever. And, of course I’ll take care of it too, if you know what I mean. No one’s allowed to make fun of you or give you a hard time.”
Part of Pyro did want to go to Boston with Scout for Christmas but… Scout had a big family. Supposedly not all of them would be there but a lot of them would. Assurances from Scout and his Mom or no, Pyro wasn’t sure he was ready to meet them even, especially so many at once. People were difficult to deal with and often not very nice when first meeting Pyro. Scout defending him would just cause conflict and Pyro didn’t want to be at the center of any of that. So… “I’m sure.”
“Well, okay. If you change your mind anytime between now and when I leave tomorrow, just let me know.”
Pyro nodded his understanding. He liked going home with Engie though even if, starting last year, he was third-wheeling with Spy along for the ride too. There was plenty of room out there though for the two of them to get some alone time and for Pyro to have some space to himself as well. Maybe next year he’d be up for Boston… big maybe though.
Regardless, that’s not what he’d approached Scout for today. He shifted the wrapped gift box out from behind his back to offer towards Scout. “I got you a gift.”
Scout’s eyes widened as he placed his half eaten Christmas cookie back on the tray so he could accept the gift. “What is it?” He held it up to his ear and gave it a shake that shouldn’t give anything away as Pyro had made sure to store it safely and securely. “Wait, don’t tell me. I should wait for Christmas to open it.”
“No. Open it now.” It being a weapon meant he probably shouldn’t open it near family, pets, and potentially children.
“Really? You sure?”
Pyro nodded again.
With a shrug, Scout set into pulling the wrapping paper off, revealing the case Pyro had made for it too just for fun. Upon flipping that open, he gasped. A good gasp or an offended one? Pyro couldn’t tell. “Is this… a baby flamethrower?”
Not how Pyro had been thinking of it but close enough. He nodded again. “It’s heavier but I tried to make it balance similar to your scattergun.” Getting it exact was impossible but he’d done pretty good as far as he was concerned. “Not that you have to…”
“This is awesome! Come on, let’s go test it!” He closed the lid, allowing him to place the case under his arm and and use his other hand to grab one of Pyro’s to pull him along.
Pyro had almost no choice but to go along. “You really like it?” he asked when they finally came to a stop a short time later in the shooting gallery.
“Yeah of course dude, it’s awesome. I can set people on fire with this!” Ah, perhaps then, even if Scout didn’t love it quite as much, he still loved fire. Really, in hindsight, who didn’t love fire? It was too wonderful not to.

Gift
Summary: Beheaded has a gift for Ghost.
Another entry in my Mute Buddies series.

Typically Friend only headed in one direction through the island, never turning back. This time though, as soon as the Wanderer joined them, they’d gestured heavily for them to follow before leading the way back towards where they’d come from. So, curious, Wanderer followed.
Separate from Friend, they’d already explored back this way as far as they could go and hadn’t found anything of much interest. Friend had clearly been on the island far longer though so if they insisted there was something back this way that the Wanderer needed to see then there likely was.
Friend led the way all the way back to the dead end room. Wanderer had been here once when Friend’s goo form had fallen from a pipe in the ceiling to roll over and into the body that lay beside a bloodstained stone, confirming that the body was merely a vessel for them to control. Friend didn’t go back into that area though, instead stopping just outside it. Where they crouched down and pull a brick out of the wall, revealing a hiding place from which they withdrew a small box.
They then shifted into a more proper sitting position. Placing the box on their lap, they took off the lid and placed it to the side next to the loose brick. From the box, they pulled out a long thick strip of redish pink fabric, measuring it with their hands as they went. Once they apparently had an acceptable amount, they held it with one hand and used their other to reach into the box and pull out a pair of scissors to carefully snip it with. Then, after putting the scissors back and the box aside, they offered the strip of fabric to Wanderer with a small flourish.
Wanderer of course accepted it, taking it into their own smaller hands. It was pleasantly soft and silky to the touch and a pretty vibrant colour that stood out against the mostly drab colours of everything else on the island. Wanderer wasn’t a good judge of such things but it seemed to be fairly high quality and thus likely valuable. What were they supposed to do with it though? They’d never been gifted anything before so… how were they even supposed to respond?
Friend snapped their fingers, drawing Wanderer’s gaze back up to them. They mimed tying something in a knot.
Ah, okay. Wanderer didn’t get it but if that’s what they were supposed to do with it… they tied a knot in it. Maybe they were supposed to tie multiple knots in it. Before they could start on a second though, Friend shook their head, even miming a ‘no’ with their hands. They then gestured for Wanderer to give it back.
Well… Wanderer had tried. They handed it back.
Friend carefully undid the knot and straightened it out a bit before leaning forward to loop it around Wanderer’s neck. They then tied it at the front, keeping it in place. Wanderer couldn’t see it well from this angle of course, but the particular knot seemed to be deliberate in its shape.
Once they were done, trying it securely but still comfortably, Friend pulled back and straightened. They then gestured for Wanderer to follow again. This time, it was just up and over to the mirror that the odd fellow with the scroll liked to hang out by.
Upon seeing themself in the mirror, the redish pink cloth suddenly made since. It was a bow. In hindsight, they maybe should’ve known that given how Friend’s mushroom and maggot pets had such bows tied cutely onto them with what was clearly a piece of ribbon from the same spool. Wanderer had never seen an untied bow before though so how were they supposed to have known?
They looked up at Friend again to give them a slight nod in thanks. Later they’d have to find a way to get Friend to teach them how to tie the bow so they could take it off to keep it from getting dirty or damaged during battle and then put it back on when they wanted to. Also, perhaps they’d have to find something to give as a gift to return the favor. For now though they were content to admire their gift for a little bit longer.

Christmas Cookies
Summary: Fry intends to throw a proper Christmas party this year.

Evil killer Robo-Santa be damned, this year Fry was going to throw the best Christmas party the world had ever seen. Or if not the world – because he wasn’t delusional enough to believe himself anywhere even close to capable enough to be able to pull that off – then at least in recent Planet Express history. Like since he’d started working with them kind of recent. That he could do because none of those parties had been all that great so surely he could do better… maybe. He was going to try at any rate.
To deal with the whole Santa wanting to kill people problem, he’d hold it in the Planet Express basement. Not the most spacious or comfortable of places but he and Bender hung out down there all the time to avoid work and in the process had already largely cleared it out of useless junk that kept getting in their way. He’d probably have to ask Bender for help moving a few more things but probably, hopefully, nothing too bad.
First came the music, the most important part of a party. All the modern Christmas music was about the evil Santa killing people and whatnot; not the vibe he was looking for. So since he had to use old music anyway, why not he stuff he grew up with? He pirated it of course, using what Bender had taught him about modern digital piracy, because he couldn’t afford to purchase as much as he’d have wanted. And why should he have to buy songs he’d used to own anyway?
Next came the lights, tinsel, wreath, and even a Christmas tree, not a real one unfortunately but it would do nonetheless. All easily acquired through the internet. The special Christmas punch was also easy as this was far from Fry’s first time getting ready to make spiked punch for a party. He just had to make sure it was Christmasy by adding nutmeg or something to it too.
The hard part came when it was time to prepare the Christmas sugar cookies. He’d never been much of a baker and while he could do store brought that would be sacrilege. So, the morning of Christmas Eve, he set to trying his best. How hard could it really be? He’d used to help with this all the time as a kid. Yeah, with adult supervision, but he was an adult now too so surely he could do this just fine by himself.
Bender poked his head into the kitchen only a few seconds after the fire alarm starting blaring. “What’cha burning?”
A bit to distracted by the fire on the tray of ‘cookies’ he was currently holding, Fry didn’t answer as he hurriedly – but still carefully as possible lest this disaster grow any worse – put it on the stove top. At least he’d remember to wear oven mitts before picking it up. But now what? How did he put it out? Water! … He should douse it with water from the sink!
Before he could even grab a pot to start filling, Bender stepped forward and sprayed whit foam over it with his hand. “Lucky for you, I just got my fire extinguisher tank refilled a couple days ago.”
“Thanks.” Fry’s heart was hammering still. This was why he didn’t try to bake often. Things were so easy to forget once hidden away in the oven.
To put off having to explain things for a bit, he jogged over and turned off the fire alarm. With that done though there was nothing left to do but to return to the stove and frown down at what was supposed to have been sugar cookies. But hey, at least when covered with fire extinguisher foam, they were hidden from view.
“I’m trying to make Christmas cookies,” he said before Bender could ask again. He’d intended to keep this idea a surprise for as long as he could but he’d basically been caught red handed. “I’m going to throw a Christmas party in Planet Express’ basement tomorrow instead of the dark and quiet one we normally have.”
Bender scoffed. “You throw a party, huh? I can’t imagine that turning out good.”
“No. I’m trying really hard and it’s going to be great, you’ll see. Except for, uh…” He glanced back the foam covered baking tray. “I’ll just get some store brought cookies instead, I guess.” Those weren’t as good but he wasn’t sure he was up for another attempt at it after how badly this one failed.
“Hmm…” Bender stepped forward to look down at the tray too. “Nah, you’re in luck Fry because I’m bored and there’s nothing on TV so I’ll help you make your cookies or whatever.”
“Wait, really? I thought you only liked to cook.”
Bender raised a hand to a dismissive gesture. “Cooking and baking are basically the same thing.”
“Sort of, I think, maybe.” Fry wasn’t sure he wanted Bender’s help though, given how Bender’s food usually turned out. But then again, maybe working together they could combine the good parts of their food making skills – if it could even be said they had any skill in that area whatsoever – and make something halfway decent or maybe even good. That or they’d make something inedible and set it on fire. Well, it was probably worth the risk, what more could go wrong that hadn’t already? “All right, sure. Let’s try again.”

Xmas Invite
Summary: Cooking Cat invites Empress over for Xmas.
~
It was that time of year again. Multicolored lights and tinsel lined the Metro and all its shops. The harnesses on the train cats were switched out for more festive looking ones – luckily, to the relief of no doubt everyone who frequented the Metro trains, though the sleigh bells from last year had made a return, they were silent this year, only for visual decoration. The food carts were decorated too, sometimes in big ways like the ice cream stand that somehow managed to get a giant inflatable snowman on its roof. And a lot of them changed up their menus to include special Xmas treats.
Cooking Cat would have to stop by one of those before heading home to get a treat for Mu and herself too because why not? Perhaps while here she’d get Mu another Xmas gift as well from one of the various shops. How many gifts was the proper amount to get for one’s adopted daughter anyway? The more the merrier, right? Well, she’d have a look around when done with her actual reason for coming down this way today.
Empress’ jewelry shop was decorated too. No doubt because, even if it was a front for gang business, the sales from the traffic Xmas brought in was still substantial enough to be worth the effort. Upon entering, the festive tunes playing over the stores intercom became audible as well, completing the Xmas vibe. If one didn’t know better it’d be easy to mistake Empress as an Xmas person.
Standing at the counter, Empress looked her usual prime and proper self. Her expression softened a bit as her gaze found Cooking Cat. “Oh, Cookie. How lovely it is to see you again. How are you?”
“Fabulous.” Upon reaching the counter, Cooking Cat placed the Tupperware she’d been carrying in front of Empress. “I know Xmas ain’t your thing these days but I went ahead and made you some Xmas cookies like I used to do when we was young. Though, I improved the recipe a little and got fancier cookie cutters to make even prettier shapes. I think you’ll like them.”
“Thank you. I appreciate the gesture. Merry Xmas.”
“Now, feel free to say no, if you’re too busy or just don’t want to come, I won’t be offended, but would you like to come over to my place for Xmas this year?”
Empress raised an eyebrow. “Hmm… what about your daughter, Mu, I believe her name was, wouldn’t you rather spend it with her?”
“Of course she’ll be there too. And I already asked her if she’d be okay with you joining us and she said it was.” Actually it had been Mu’s idea for Cooking Cat to invite Empress over upon Cooking Cat separating out some of the cookies they’d made together to give to Empress as a gift. “Unless her being there is a problem for you.” Empress did like her wine and that wasn’t appropriate to drink around a child. “In which case, that’s fine too. I just thought I’d ask since, as far as I know, you don’t have any family to spend it with.”
“No, no. I just thought you might have a problem with someone like me being around her.”
“As long as you don’t talk about the specifics of gang stuff, it won’t be a problem. Which I don’t think you’d do anyway, right?” Not that Mu couldn’t handle it given her past with the Mafia. But that was perhaps all the more reason not to expose her to such stuff any more. Empress wouldn’t though, both out of respect for Cooking Cat as well as the need to keep that stuff secret lest it get out to the authorities.
“I wouldn’t, trust me. So, I suppose I could come. It wouldn’t hurt to leave for a day or two. Besides, I assume you’ll be cooking dinner?”
“Of course and making desert too.” It was one of Cooking Cat’s favorite holidays for that reason; special occasion dinners were extra delightful to prepare.
“I wouldn’t miss it for the world then.”

4. movie of the year: easily cocaine bear. i posted abt this the other night but i loved it so much i saw it twice in theatres. it wasn't a prequel, sequel, spinoff, remake, no capitalizing on nostalgia value, it was a straight up original movie and it was so much fun. campy gore, good comedy, a fun ending, all of the actors were fantastic and a good soundtrack too. loved it, it was exactly what i needed it to be

25. did you create any characters (in games, art, writing) this year? describe one: ok yes i started a new d&d campaign and made my boy val. he's a 330~ year old monster hunter who survived a massacre on his family when he was a kid and is convinced whatever killed them is after him. he has the haunted one background and is convinced everyone who gets close to him will die so he's spent most of his life alone as a monster hunter and is super awkward and i love him so much. he's a shadar-kai and this meme sums him up:

Ok, I’m going to try my shot at my most recent lunar return chart to see how my emotions are this month.
LR Moon in LR 8H= activating death, endings, shared finances, sex, occultism, psychics, surgery, transformation, research. PLEASE let it just be about me further studying occultism and working on psychic ability. (Jan 2023 edit)-the last of my great-aunts on my mom’s side passed away shortly after Xmas.

LR Asc at 12° (Pisces degree)= hospitalization, prison, locations of confinement, charities, swimming, feet, mysticism, investigators, secret sorrows, hidden enemies, psychics, sleep, dancing, diseases (hard to diagnose/involving mucous), drugs, alcohol, water. (Jan 2023 edit): I went to a medical center attached to a hospital for a breast biopsy 2 days after Xmas, turned out fine

Lambmas
Summary: Lamb declares a new holiday to replace the Winter Solstice.
~
Lamb had grown up celebrating the Winter Solstice. It wasn’t specifically a religious holiday but for a long while now folk had been incorporating their worship of their chosen Bishop into their celebrations of it. For that reason it had to go. Not completely; abolishing such a popular holiday entirely would make people unhappy and many would chose to celebrate it regardless, which would encourage defiance. So replacement it was.
So on the first of the month, the day everyone normally started prepping for their Solstice celebration, Lamb gathered everyone in the church first thing in the morning. This not being the usual time, everyone was slightly restless through the usual sermon; Lamb only ever held a sermon at a different time when they had something to announce. And that’s why Lamb did it that way; anticipation often made such announcements more impactful.
But finally, as the sermon wound down to a close, it was time for the announcement. “The twenty-fifth of this month is the anniversary of my date of birth.” A lie but it was the perfect reason to declare a holiday without making what they were actually doing too obvious. “I am declaring it as a new holiday that we shall all celebrate with gifts and decorations. We shall spend it with our families and friends before coming to the temple for a special celebration. We are naming it ‘Lambmas’ after myself of course as it is my birthday. Any questions?” Rarely did they allow for questions but they were hoping for one in particular this time.
“What about the Winter Solstice?” a pink bunny by the name of Lilly in the second row asked. “I’m not opposed to celebrating two holidays so close together or anything but how are we supposed to decorate for both?”
“That’s a very good question.” The exact one Lamb had wanted. “Since they are so close together, I feel it makes sense to incorporate our Winter Solstice traditions into Lambmas. So essentially we shall be celebrating them at the same time.” While ensuring everyone only honored Lamb’s name which was what mattered most.
A thoughtful murmur ran through the crowd but no one protested. They did raise a few more questions though, all easily answered. Once it seemed everyone was satisfied, Lamb dismissed them. As they all filed out, one remained; Narinder, leaning against wall with his arms crossed. Once the church was empty, Lamb stepped down from the podium and walked over to talk to him, see what he wanted.
“The twenty-fifth isn’t actually your birthday, is it?” he said in soft voice as Lamb reached him. Hmm… makes sense he’d know what Lamb was doing.
“It might as well be now, right?” Lamb replied, equally softly. “I’m a god now so why should the exact date matter anyway?”
“True. It’s a smart move; getting rid of the Solstice celebrations without actually changing much.”
“Yep, keeps people happy. So, I know it’s early and I just announced it, but what kind of gift are you thinking of getting me for Lambmas? Because you have to get me something.” They’d have to get everyone something as well to cement that this change was a good thing.
“I don’t know.”
��Fair. It’s probably better as a surprise anyway, huh? I eagerly await whatever it’s going to be. Now, I believe we both have work we got to get back to. I’ll be seeing you later.” They blew him a kiss before turning to leave. Perhaps if they were lucky, his gift would be him finally returning their affections. Probably not but they could hope, right?

i cant stop thinking about the way jimin was giggling like a school girl after he called jk over as a guest for his bday party, and then getting all awkward and flustered as if talking to his school crush. he was smiling so much even if jungkook was just standing there— and the way jungkook was also giggling when he said "jimin came by" to greet him happy birthday on his recent live. my boys are so smitten for each other its so adorable
It’s the way they do things all the members do, but when they do it every so often it feels like we are intruding, you know?
Oh and let’s UNOT7nify things for a change, shall we? for all those people out there going “but Hobi was there as well so”. To begin with, we have no idea of how it all went down. If JM didn’t come forth with that Hobi super-crop, we could have assumed that maybe they visited him at different times. But even with Hobi being there, who was the one that was so eagerly awaiting this day? Who was the one who gave us another very cute super-crop picture, of JK this time, while he is seemingly blowing out candles?
Hobi also joined them during JM’s birthday live last year, and people that don’t want to acknowledge it will not, but the change of atmosphere was instant. Before his arrival, not gonna lie to you, I was in disbelief and I didn't realise I was holding my breath until Hobi came in. Same with the Team Party-Party~! V-Live in LV, the way JM’s whole demeanour changed when JK walked into that room. Tae unbothered and Hobi moving aside, both probably being very used to this dynamic by now, but us still watching and wondering if all of this is okay to witness?! LOL

QUICKIE - 1: The Moon Embracing The Sun

Constantly, I hope everyone is doing great and I’m guessing we are all very excited about tomorrow! I’m perhaps overly excited and all I need to do at this point is try and get some sleep, like for real, but I feel like I’m a kid again and it's Xmas Eve’s Night where even tho I ain’t tryna catch Santa, I’m too hyped to sleep 🙃 … ANYWAYS, As the name of this series suggests, this is not going to be anything excessively long, but rather just a quick observation regarding some cute/lucky/noticeable occurrence I might have noticed or that might have happened in correlation to Jikook.
Today I’d like to talk about a “little” K-Drama called The Moon Embracing The Sun, which is from 2012, like, a good 10 years ago, but good stuff, good stuff! I literally just finished watching and it took me two weeks because I was trying to make it last (and it is a good 20 episodes). As you might already have deduced, the fact that it talked about The Moon and The Sun made me think of Jikook and straight away my brain started braining as I began to better understand a very distinct difference between how The West and The East perceive the relationship between the Moon and the Sun (myself being born and brought up in The West).
First of all, I was quite intrigued to find out that the drama was a love story between the Sun and the Moon, since (as some might have gathered by now) with me being really big on mythology (greek/roman in particular), I’ve always had a hard time thinking of the Sun and the Moon as anything other than twins, which is what Apollo (eventually god of the Sun) and Artemis (eventually goddess of the moon) are. In The East it appears that they for the most part star crossed lovers for something the moon did apparently, but lovers nevertheless.

This week has been a bit messy hasn’t it? And to top the madness all off, though I’m sure we are all happy to see that JK is doing well, thanks to his IG updates, it would have been great to “hear” from Jimin as well 🥹at this point is like, I know you working but, help a sister out you know? Like we be “worrying”/hella selfish here in this neck of the woods, like … jimiii↗️↘️iiin, I MISS SO MUCH IT HURTS 😭. So I thought I’d stop by to write something … cute me thinks? I think we can all use some fluffy, tender and light STD: Speculations, Thoughts and Delulu. In fact, the idea for this post was the result of me reading this post → Jikook After Tokyo by @wingzie. So welcome to another long ass post!
Though wingzie’s post was clearly about both JM and JK, I haven’t been able to shake off the image of Jimin blushing/being shy. I’ve always felt like Park Jimin is the kind of human being who, at least until circa pre-2018, would instantly wear his heart on his sleeve full-throttle. As of present, he seems to be much more in control with regards to the majority of emotions that he can control, sometimes even resorting to smart talk/ cynicism as a substitute as well. But oh boi, it used to be that we were always made aware of any kind of emotion he felt from little happiness and ecstasy to pet-peeves and straight up being bothered.
The only time we are now privy of a non-controlled emotion from Jimin is when he blushes/gets shy. There are infinite reasons why different people get shy. Some people get shy out of being complimented, some people get shy just being in the proximity of the person they maybe fancy, some people get shy when put on the spot, etc etc etc. When it comes to JM, what in my opinion, seems to be his shy trigger are situations where he REALLY doesn’t know what to do. So he “blushes” or becomes “shy”, so to say, and in his case it seems to happen mostly on 2 particular scenarios:
He is out of depts, not in his element, doesn't want us to know, and he is well aware that it will show on his face.
He hasn’t yet processed his feelings with regards to a certain situation. Hence, he hides his face so that we don’t see how he is feeling in that moment, before he himself can actually process what it is that he is even feeling.
Now, though JM has admitted on many occasions that he is indeed the shiest member of the band, people who are just focused on his performance persona, or just observe him within his comfort zone (which is for example anything with his members RUN BTS, BON VOYAGE etc) will not notice this side of him all, in fact they might even think that he is “capping”.

hi dunno if you had this question or not but do u think before jikook become a "thing" vmin and jihope messed around... cos if u ask other blogs they will beat around the bushes but aint nobody actually answering lol im saying this cos vmin are close as jihope hobi was his roomate tho (roomates) i didnt see jimin &hobi dynamic turn around like this until bv in malta or burn the stage..?
anyway it doesnt changr my opinion on jikook im just curious cos it looks like they prob messed around lol and

Sure, let’s talk abou it.
No, I don’t think JM messed around with any other member in BTS before, during or after JK. Short answer; amongst other factors, one (not the main factor but …) is it would take a person who actually thinks they are desired in such a manner to do so, and quite unfortunately, for the longest time, I do believe JM didn’t believe himself to be said person at all. As for the Long answer, let’s look at each pairing you mentioned, shall we?
Let’s start with giving some context to my thoughts:
Not sure if you read any other of my posts, but I think 2015 was the year JK started “peacocking” so to say, at JM, and through ups and downs it took them 2017/2018 to actually enter a steady relationship and by steady I don’t mean they were in an open relationship prior to this. What I mean is that they both were trying to figure out things like, for example; what they actually were feeling for each other, or would them “being together” actually work, or could they really actually do this., etc, etc etc.
Furthermore, I should add, that I believe JM “taunting” JK with requests of kisses and telling him he liked him and wanted to go out with him etc, as they already had a very good relationship off-camera (as proven by various interviews), was just an also quite naive approached mixing at an attempt to establish a connection with JK on camera, with feelings he still himself hadn’t quite properly acknowledged. In simple words: He was consciously kidding about feelings he subconsciously already had but never really took seriously.

Because I was 100% sure he wouldn’t appear in JM’s vlive, just as much as I was 100% sure JM wouldn’t vlive from his private home (my reasons being, are probably for another post though … 😁). BUT, at the same time I did wonder; since JK doesn’t have the excuse of being at the company anymore, and since he is not going to release another 100% centric Jimin GCF; … what is he going to do? So you might be wondering: if you didn;t think he was going to do anything public, why still wonder about what he could do?
MIND YOU, being the private person that he is (they are), I did for the most part expected JK to not post anything at all. So I was actually at work wanting to talk to my loved one and not being able to (don’t ask…) while waiting for some Jikookers to beg for JK to post something, the whole time thinking “… it would be nice if they’d leave JK alone, is not like he is going to publicly do anything ..”. AND THEN, the second I thought that, I remember about last years birthday and I was like “🤦🏾♀️🙄😒😬…”.
Which brought me right back to the me that had been hypothetically thinking about “if, then what?”. If JK really wanted to publicly wish JM a happy birthday in a still intimate way but still not being caught: HOW THE FUCK WOULD HE DO THAT?

New Years Schnew Years
Ah New Year. New start. New me blah blah blah. There's me over here with the post-holiday blues trying not to make new years resolutions that I will just break, probably by tomorrow. Whilst logically knowing NYR's are ridiculous but also trying to actually manifest positive thoughts & stop ruminating.
Through the holiday season we are meant to be elated, grateful, happy & full of Christmas Spirit. But for many, it's just expensive, stressful, forced merriment and often times, lonely.
I fall somewhere in-between all of the above and I'd say I have done for most of the holidays since losing our Mom in 2008 & even more so after losing Dad in 2011.
My Xmas 2022 really didn't happen for me this year. I wasn't fully on board with what was planned for me anyway, so I wasn't exactly bothered when those plans did go pearshaped & I was alone on Xmas/Boxing Day.
Xmas Eve & the bit in-between New Years Eve had some really lovely moments with friends. And that's where my heart lies over this period...Friendmas has always been my preference.
But then of course we have New Year's Eve and I spent it with my friends family this year. And it was nice, I had a good time & New Years Day was mostly lovely too...despite the best attempts of a grumpy man who tried to ruin my NYD morning equilibrium by shouting at me at Tesco's Jet Wash. He was highly irritated I clearly hadn't washed my car in...Umm...probably 6 month...and that I took too long to clean it...no one was more pissed off about that than me whilst I was cleaning it buddy, trust me! Perhaps his wife was though, after she announced he had just broken his NY Resolution by shouting at me and he'd only be up for an hour 😂
I was lonely over the holidays though. Being with each of my different sets of friends (who I mostly consider family) is lovely & being surrounded by some of their extended family, who I get on with like a house on fire is also great but I am acutely aware they are not mine. I feel like I am just their Daughter/Sister/Aunt's sad, lonely, middle aged, singleton friend who doesn't have anywhere else to go (I did but that's beside the point). I know they don't view me that way but that's how I sometimes feel in that scenario. Especially when I am trying to play games when you need to use things that you know about each other as answers to the questions. I did OK, others did less well with me.
I laid awake last night watching the Steelers game (We won!) & I started to get frustrated with 2023 already because of something that I had overheard on New Year's Day... and we are only into the early hours of the 2nd day! It was nearly 3.30am and instead of sleeping I was thinking about that little grey cloud that had appeared and how I want it to go away as I don't want to feel sad on New Year's but also laid there thinking why am I pissed just because it's New Years?!
It's not like I've ever really put any stock in the New Year...but I think we are conditioned into believing that the move from one year to the next is some magical time that all of a sudden changes everything. But it's not. Not even a little bit. It's just a date with an enormous amount of commercial pressure to be "better than we were last year" at a time of year that is already difficult for so many reasons.
Did I really think I'd wake up on New Year's Day a changed person? More insightful, more thoughtful, that I would care more or less about the things that I know I should or shouldn't. Of course not. I'm exactly the same person as I was on 31/12/2022. Exactly the same.
I was flicking through Facebook and seeing some beautifully moving posts from friends relaying their 2022 troubles & their hopes for 2023. But many were of the general ilk: I will start to do XYZ on January 1st 2023. I immediately wanted to ask some of them the same question...why did you wait until January 1st? What is so special about the first day of the New Year?
I am not judging, I am so guilty of doing this in the past but picking any kind of goal on New Years is setting most people up for failure. It's the same as I'm gonna start this on Monday or I am gonna start that tomorrow. Why not now? Start it now. Don't wait. Don't put off anything that means so much to you that you need to put it in writing on the internet. Do it now!
Don't wait until a specific date to stop smoking, start eating healthier, start exercising, stop stressing over the small stuff, be kinder, let things go, be present, try and keep that temper in check (Mr Jet Wash man) or any other habits you may have that are causing you physical and mental harm.
START NOW.
Start in the middle of the night when you are laid awake ruminating and can't sleep. Start on the train into work even though you just had a cigarette or a Danish that you promised yourself you wouldn't, make the change. Be the change. No one else can change these things for you. It has to be you. And make it your lifestyle, whatever positive changes you want or probably NEED to make, make them NOW and DONT set a deadline.
Don't say by this date I will be this, or by this date I will be that. Make the positive changes and take each minute at a time. You will SEE & FEEL the progress. And continue that way. Don't stop. If you stop, you'll slide back. Whether it be the physical or mental habits you need to quit to be the happiest version of yourself. Be consistent, but don't beat yourself up if you have a bad day and you slip up, just don't repeat..start again immediately after your slip up.
Saying you had a bad "day" isn't usually a bad day. It is more likely to be one unhealthy meal, one cigarette, one missed gym session, one frustrated sentence. Don't let one small slip upend your goal of happiness. Use that reset button...don't abuse it...hold yourself accountable. But be kind to yourself. Know you can do this.
Any day of the year.
Fuck New Years.
