life is such a cyclical thing, ada’s come to realize as her own pushes on. the same things are coming back around in an almost calculated routine — six years have passed and here they are again. the setting is new; salazar’s castle is distinctly more grandeur than the elaborate architecture of the raccoon city police station, but everything else is following a familiar pattern. she’s searching for a sample — parasitic this time, but still cutting-edge and with a hefty price tag for her services — and he’s here on yet another save the world at all costs mission. ordered this time around, she assumes, and a specific target from the start — the president’s daughter — but the details don’t matter so much as the full picture. throw in a tyrant and a rocket launcher at the eleventh hour, and it may as well be a full-blown reunion.

while she’d recognize leon anywhere — she never forgets a face out of habit — she can see how time has treated him. the physical changes are obvious, particularly around his biceps, but the most glaring one is in his eyes. he’s tired, he’s weary, he carries a heaviness with him that can only be earned through the bitterest teacher: experience. he probably thinks he’s completely different from that rookie cop all those years ago, but ada knows better.

no one in this world ever truly changes. they shift, they bend, they adapt — but certain things are finite. leon is no exception.

i have come up with One (1) potential title for the hell life au that may or may not be too cringe to actually use. unsure if i want to share it.

also i know that i already SAID i was gonna use wordpress to post it but i feel like that's making me take it waaaay too seriously so it might end up being a sideblog thing after all. my major downside about using tumblr is still that fucking glitch that italicizes half the words in a paragraph if you have two words italicized tho. like genuinely that is going to piss me off if it affects my writing. it's not a big deal but it IS
