ouugghh.. I had to draw a little something based off that post I made last night about padawan having their braids put in by their masters and it's a little bit messy and a little bit rough (don't say anything about how the style changes from panel to panel 😭) but I just wanted to put out this tender moment between Kepler and Brea from their early days!! 💖🫶💖

Kepler and Ahsoka haven't always...gotten along, to say the least. As initiates, Ahsoka was always very clearly miles ahead of everyone while he fell behind. Even if she didn't mean to, subconsciously she always considered him the lowest bar, she's obviously very talented cause she's nothing LIKE him.

Of course they grow to resent each other for this and butt heads, especially with their masters being best friends which means they're forced to be around each other a lot more 😅 but they don't realize how similar they really are! Eventually they're able to reconcile and become genuine friends, though! 💖

Ougghhh (<- slept in till 12:30) well hello everybody! Today is day 1 and familial self ship day of my lovely partner's @/cherry-bomb-ships valentines day event!! ^ 0 ^ 💖🫶💖🫶💖🫶💖

My focuses today are gonna be Obi-Wan who is my dad and ofc Kepler my oc f/o who is my angel son 🥺🫶 I've already queued some posts, some of em have even posted by now and I'll try to scrounge some things up!

But I wanna say that both of them mean a whole lot to me! I don't talk about Obi-Wan that much cause tbh I don't think a lot about a lot of interactions between him and Brea other than being Tired™️ and thinking of her as an Anakin 2 😂 but whenever I see him I'm like !!! That's my dad!! He's so cool and skilled and so slutty and I adore him!!

And as for Kepler! I've made a lot of characters and had a lot of sonboys but he's definitely the number one son for me 🥺🥺💖💖 he's like Brea's first child and he thought of her like his mother while they were together, maybe I'll think of some fun silly things to talk about today instead of the sad ones but I love him so much and I love thinking about all the little ways they can help each other grow!!

Thinking about Kepler.

Thinking about how if he had met Ezra they would have been friends.

Ezra would have had so much to learn from him, especially since Kep would have been a padawan at the same time as Kanan and they probably knew each other.

Thinking about how when Brea joins the fight to liberate Lothal Ezra can't quite place what her personal stake in it is. She seemingly appears to do it for the revolution, to show the Empire it can be beaten, for freedom.

He knows better, he's perceptive enough to know that isn't the whole story. That's the first he ever hears of Kepler, who was a boy from Lothal training to be a jedi, just like him.

Just saw a piece of DEVASTATING Rebels fanart that implies that (at least in Kanan's case? maybe) his master PERSONALLY put in his signature padawan braid. It's probably not standard or anything but let's assume that in my universe it IS traditional for a master to braid their padawan's hair once they officially decide to guide them.

Kepler has gone through at least 3 masters before, none of which have stuck with him for very long so he probably had to put his braid in himself and do his best to take care of it with no help from anyone 😭😭 his design is intentionally messy cause it suited his personality but now im imagining he was even MORE disheveled when he was first assigned to Brea I'd making me...

For familial f/o day, organized by my love @cherry-bomb-ships I didn't have much prepared other than queueing a few posts, so I decided to share a couple wips from the lyric video I'm working on instead! ^ 0 ^ 💖💖

The first one is of Kep doing some training on the ship as Brea supervises, I imagine while they're in hyperspace he trains with the little ball thing a lot since he has a lot of work to do in order to hone his Force connection! And the second ofc is the two of them catching a little snooze, probably on an away mission.

It's definitely a lot easier for Kepler to fall asleep when Brea's around because he feels a lot safer 🥺💖

I was watching the clone wars arc where those Padawan enter that ice cave to find their kyber crystals and construct their lightsabers (my first time watching it too btw my bff made me skip it on first watch 😂) and y'know the whole challenge to finding their crystals being unique to their personal problems and shortcomings got me thinking about what Brea's would have been! And for that matter, Kepler's!

It's fun to think about, and I think as a Padawan things sort of came easily to Brea, particularly relating to the Force. She didn't always take it seriously because she didn't think she had to work very hard, so I think her lesson would have been that she can't rely on natural talent alone. We all know what it's like to get mad when we're not immediately good at something 😂😂 to learn not to get discouraged as soon as things get hard and needing to work for something and implement taught SKILLS would be a good way to earn a crystal I think!

Kepler is a little more complicated, being that he STRUGGLES his way through the Padawan training and tbh isn't sure he wants to be one at ALL. In fact the thing he struggles most with is using the Force, at least the moving things with your mind part. I think his lack of confidence and his unwillingness to continue would be challenged, he'd be given a situation where he couldn't just give up or walk away, and he'd have to muster everything he had to use the Force and get his crystal. Maybe save someone? A fellow Padawan? (In my mind it's Ahsoka and she might get the TINIEST smidgen of respect for him but they still have a long way to go to becoming friends 😭)
