So, me and @tizniz were discussing wips, and I mentioned I found one I kinda abandoned a while back. I love it, truly, but the inspiration fizzled out... Until now. For now. I started it in July, so a lot of the plot points in it aren't likely anymore 🙄 but I still want to finish it. Long story short, Eddie and Buck fight over the whole "she sees me" shit, Buck has some realizations, but before he can tell Eddie anything... Eddie gets hurt. Bad. So, have some angst from after the fight:

He knew words didn't come easy for Eddie. Growing up in a household where emotion was a sign of weakness, you learn to build walls so thick words would never get through. But Eddie tried. And Buck just twisted them around. Shoved them back at Eddie just to feel something.

Maybe it was his subconscious. Maybe deep down, he'd known all along he loved Eddie. He just needed Eddie to say it. It took him too long to realize he already had. In so many ways. Words weren't even necessary.

His vision blurred and he blinked away the tears. He didn't know how he had any left to cry.

"Kid," Bobby said in a soft voice. Buck looked up at him. "Let's get you cleaned up."

Buck looked at his trembling hands. He nodded and followed Bobby into the bathroom. It was too much like the last time. He still remembered Bobby showing up with a shirt for Buck to change into. Still remembered crying to Bobby as the man scrubbed the very life of Eddie from Buck's skin as a sickening thump echoed in his ears.

With any luck at all, it could be finished by premier day... But probably not 😁
