Throwing this out there cuz my brain is too full of weasels to do anything else with it

I was scrolling through my Drafts to set up the next sequence in my Queue and seeing two posts next to each got me thinking: Imogen and Laudna as Root and Shaw in a Person of Interest AU.

I think it works best with Imogen as Root and Laudna as Shaw, though I did have a moment where I considered it flipped the other way around. I think then that the rest of the crew works out to be Orym as John, FCG as Bear, Chetney as Harold, Fearne as Elias, and Ashton as Fusco. Though I suppose Eshteross would make a better Harold, but then I don't know what to do with Chetney. Actually... it would kinda be funny to have Chetney as Martine, but I wouldn't want to have him squarely on the opposing team from the rest of Bell's Hells. I know Elias has danced back and forth between ally and antagonist, but I think that kinda works for Fearne, being the chaos muppet that she is. Maybe Otohan would be Martine. Or Control. Anyhoo, I hadn't really given it a ton of thought beyond Imodna as Shoot, but I figured I'd write this out to see what folks thought.

So... it's been a minute. I may be coming back here, not sure yet. I spent the last 8 months bingeing literally everything Critical Role-related and then hopped over here to start collecting fanart, so I'll be reblogging a bunch of that soon. But then I realized that I've had over 500 posts sitting in Drafts purgatory for a couple years, so I'm gonna go through those first.

Context; I told my new "stand in doctor/substitute doctor" about my depression and suicidal thoughts and how I am struggling with the ADD symptoms (my original doctor is going to some school for 6 months and I wish I could have my substitute instead because he was so kind! And he really listened to me and I was there for over an hour! But of course I can't have him and I can't even put myself in a queue to get him! Typical!)

Anyway he, my substitute doctor, recommended me to call this psych health hotline. Which I did. No it's not the usual DPS (DPS /Det Psykiatriske Senter/The Psychiatric Centre...is usually the national psych health fascilities/help you get here in Norway and believe me when I say they have blood and many deaths on their hands and they are useless and did nothing for me for 3 years except taking my money!! I hate them and so does many Norwegians!!)

Anyway...I call this psych health hotline service that I have never heard of before and they called me back today and have now offered me therapy (FOR FREE!! My former Psychiatrist kicked me out because I was often late to our sessions and I have been in need of therapy for years now) and there will be some group activities with others who are struggling with their mental health (THIS WILL ALSO BE FOR FREE) and so I'll meet up with others and we're gonna play soccer, golf or play with frisbee's...etc... hang out and be social. Which I need as I only have one physical non-online friend and she has social anxiety....

I have been told that all of this therapy that I'll be getting is FREE of charge and its not gonna be about anti deppressants/medication but more about councling and talking sessions...and tasks that I'll do at home (I am terrified to take any meds against depression and so I'm glad it's not about that!) But it will be therapy nevertheless! I am so happy that I'll finally get therapy again!! ☀️

I told my dad about it..and our convo went something like this;

"Are you at your mom's?"

"Yes?"

"Are you awake? You told me you were tired after the phone call...?"

"I'm awake...I was just tired. Not going to take a nap.."

"Ok. Because I have something for you...I'll be there in 7-8 minutes!"

"But I just ate! "(I thought it was food like it usually is when he comes over to my mom's!)

"It's not food. It's something else. I'll be there in 7 minutes!"

And he came and gave me 10 roses. And a card that says "Life is though but so are you" ❤

And he signed the back of the card "Pappz" (instead of pappa/dad) and wrote that he "loved me very much! ❤ hug Pappz!"

And I got a heart lollipop along with the roses and I love that type of lollipop! (They are some of the best ones I swear!!) He gave me a bear hug and told me he was proud of me and that he loved me! I did feel better! I feel blessed right now! Despite all the 10 years of bullying in school I can at least say that I have the best parents! 💕

After putting the roses in a vase I had to text my dad this;

Me: "I don't have a partner (bf/gf) but I have you! 💕"

Papa viking/my dad: "The right one is surely out there waiting for you (my name. Censored.)" 💕

This month is suicide awareness. Talk about suicidal thoughts. Don't be judgemental. Be open. Talk about and dare to ask people why they feel the way they feel!!

It helps to talk about it! It really does! Something as simple as a little card like this or a text from someone can mean something tremendously! It can mean the entire world and make a difference!

And so like I told the lady on the psych health hotline; "I will still try and keep on fighting this!"

And I will. Day by day. Little by little! Day by day. Little by little.

Tell people you love them! Tell them often! Please do! It can mean the difference to them!❤

And to those who are struggling; tell someone you care about that you are struggling! Don't be afraid to tell them! Or call for help!

Catching Up: Now U Know Gaming

This one isn't a particularly important update, but it illustrates how much work goes into even smaller projects behind the scenes – and it comes with a little story!

Shortly before moving back home from college, I went to MAGfest 2017 with a close friend of mine (who is no longer on social media, so I can't link anything here). Instead of flying, we drove there and back over two days, and we were bored to tears. Pretty much the entire way up, all we could do to keep ourselves alive was recite increasingly mangled versions of the DK Rap as we laughed ourselves into hysterics.

Luckily, just before we headed back, we thought about starting a fake gaming facts blog, as a riff on things like Did You Know Gaming and Supper Mario Broth. That kind of parody account was dime a dozen back then (and still kind of is), but it at least gave us something else to do on the ride back, rather than singing for the hundredth time:

Instead, we came up with 180+ jokes. I wrote them all down, in case we actually did something with the idea. You'd think they would be trash, since we were basically delirious at the time... but most of them are still really good!

After reviewing the material, we made it official, and started Now U Know Gaming. Together we alternated posting about 30 of them before we both had more important things to do (and eventually fell out of contact). The account has languished ever since... but I felt like we never got to the really good ones, and now I want to finish the job. So, at some point, I will!

Long story short, here's the deal: there's a ton of material already written. All I have to do is get a relevant image prepared for each one, and post them. This wouldn't be too hard, except as always, I make things too complicated. So the plan is:

Batch queue them so that a bunch (not all!) of them are shuffled and ready to go. That way, there's less maintenance in the long term.

Cross-publish to Twitter and Mastodon. When I initially ran it, I wasn't satisfied with the crossposter I was using, so I want to find another one... or write one from scratch.

Tweak the graphic design kit I made so that it looks a little more professional and is easier to work with.

Of course, between working full-time and on other projects, this hasn't really been a priority. But I'm not letting this one slip through the cracks. Now U Know Gaming will return someday!

He lets people do what they want, but he still thinks they're kind of tacky, and the displeasure on his face lets people know to not try it again. The closest anybody has ever gotten is Tendou who sometimes calls him "Toshi", and Wakatoshi has basically resigned to the fact that he's known as "Ushiwaka".

Wakatoshi who learns very quickly that you love writing and you love words when he meets you through Tobio. Heck, your love language is words of affirmation, and since he's terrible at expressing himself, he's not sure how to even talk to you.

Wakatoshi who doesn't know how to respond when you wish specifically him luck as you drop by the Adlers locker room for the next few games in order to give Tobio some pre-game snacks to give to the rest of the teammates.

Wakatoshi who doesn't know how to respond when you tell him you'll be cheering him on.

Wakatoshi who doesn't know how to respond to the silly little poster board sign you made with his name and jersey number on it, covered in all sorts of little hearts and other designs and the letters just absolutely drenched in glitter.

Wakatoshi who doesn't know how to respond as you shower him with praise after they win, telling him how strong he is and how well he did. He thinks it's cute though because you don't know a damn thing about volleyball, and here you are rattling off terms you're definitely using wrong.

Wakatoshi who hears you call him "Ace" somewhere in the middle of it (probably the only term you've used correctly), and something in him switches.

Wakatoshi who is embarrassed about how hard he gets and awkwardly refuses your hug when you go to, feeling terrible that you're blinking up at him and wondering if you said something to upset him.

Wakatoshi who spends too much time in the locker room after the game, taking his time, hoping you'll have gone home already. He doesn't know what came over him - he feels like a pervert. There you were just trying to be sweet and congratulate him, and he got a massive boner at you saying a single word.

Wakatoshi who is packing up his stuff so much slower than usual, and is interrupted by Tobio approaching him. Tobio is usually the last one out, so it's not surprising to Wakatoshi that he's still here, but this time he looks a little upset.

"Will you come out already?! She says she won't take me home until she can talk to you." Tobio explains.

Wakatoshi who simply nods in response, continuing the same slow pace of packing up his things. He's going to have to face you eventually, but he doesn't know what he's going to say when he sees you, because there's the possibility you saw.

Wakatoshi who throws his bag over his shoulder and finally emerges from the locker room, seeing you leaning against the wall opposite the door.

Wakatoshi who's body stiffens as you start genuinely apologizing to him, telling him you had no idea you were using all the terms wrong and that you're embarrassed about it and you're saying, "I know this thing is like your whole life, ya know? So I'm sorry! I'll try to learn more!"

Wakatoshi who can't stop his mouth, telling you that he usually comes in an hour before actual practices, and if you want to, he would love to teach you everything about it.

Wakatoshi who blushes when you raise an eyebrow and tell him, "Well, I can't refuse an offer from someone who was one of the top aces in Japan now can I?"

Wakatoshi who smiles warmly down at you, thinking that it's cute that you've obviously done research on him at the very least.

Wakatoshi who can finally speak properly to you, now that you're wanting to speak his language.

"Yeah, I guess you can't, can you?"
