Yandere Agents x reader headcanons
so I asked a writer on wattpad named @sodapoppss if they could do a request for me and she requested this so Enjoy I guess?
Also I have never done a yandere in my life so I'll try and improvise and Happy splatoween 🎃🎃🎃
Tumblr media
Agent 8
(I love this gif and idk why)
● Now I would say that Agent 8 would be the quiet but Extremely loyal and amazingly sweet and girlfriend to will murder someone for you in cold ink and choke a person to death in less than 5 seconds if you were remotely insulted by someone
● At first her meeting you and becoming acquaintances with each other was the best thing that ever happened to her she felt emotions that she never felt and she wanted to stay with you for a very long time in fact and she wanted to make you happiest person possible
●Now to start off in her daily obsession over you She would do Anything and I mean ANYTHING to make you satisfied with her care and company firstly she would buy things you wanted even though you didn't need them now
● Oh ! you saw a Squidshort on your phone of how to make chocolate s'more cookies but you don't have the ingredients for it ? She make them and give and feed them like a baby to you no questions asked , you wanted physical copy to a sequel to a game series that you love but it was too expensive for you She's gifting it to you now!
● And oh and have I mentioned 8 LOVES to stalk you in the middle of the night in your apartment level while you are awake or asleep and if you ever lock your doors and windows when you have the very strange feeling that someone is stalking you while you are resting in your home dont forget that she was a trained octarian soldier in the past and she will know how to get inside of your home one way or another and watch you till night's end
● At some times she would be highly but silently jealous of your friends and she would show them you appreciation for them by either hugging your arm hugging you from behind or simply just smiling at you and hoping that you would smile back at her or do some "convincing" if necessary to her
● but sometimes 8's jealously can get a biiiit crazy TOO crazy in fact
●Now it would all depend of how people treated you and either it would either be a swift splatting death or pure ummerciful torture for the poor inkling or octoling
● 8 will wait until your nightly conversation is over with a friend and quietly follow the unaware suspect that hurt your feelings today and when they enter their household the worst happens and it's best to not know what she would do to them when she makes physical contact with them
● but overall 8 is not that bad to a yandere she will not kidnap and make you live with her forever you need to do is not talk or interact with anyone! and nobody will get hurt if you even knew that ...
" Aw Y/n could you stay with me for just a little bit those people won't matter in the end "
Tumblr media
Agent 4
● Now her is an interesting case Her first meeting you in person was like absolute heaven to you but it felt like a Rollercoaster of fuzzy emotions crashed onto her face and she didn't know how to respond to them at all
● when 4 sees you She either becomes a blushing mess or one massive flirtatious or maybe rarely both and it can result a bit awkward interaction and a 4 dashing away from you in a flash crashing through people like a bullet
● She would do things to get your attention and admiration like trying to show off cool tricks to you at turf wars handing you gifts and giving you great food or tell you the most flirtatious marks She can make
● and at times where she would be jealous she would very quietly curse out the person you were having fun with or having a simple conversation with
● in all first sight everything looks a-ok around here no problems Overall
AND THAT'S WHAT YOU WILL THINK
● at times when you're talking to a friend or family member 4 will just stare and smile at you no words will come from her mouth she'll stare at you with a cute but threatening like Chara from undertale smile and it started to make you super nervous about this
● She would also take pictures of you without your permission and stick them to her wall and cherish them like a cultist till the end
●more of your friends a were starting to dissappear more inkling were starting to avoid you as fast as they could stuff was feeling like to be downhill for you until 4 invited you to her house one day you both talked, ate, and drank but everything was starting to get dark in your eyes and all you could see was her face smiling before completely blacking out
● And now you were kidnapped By 4 and best try to adjust to your new life now because it will be quite torturing to you but pure bliss for 4 she gets to feed you cuddle you, And take care of your entire life that is if you try to escape that is ...
● She won't mind to cut you a little bit or set a "example" to what happens when you TRY and leave her...
" Y/n you're not going to try to leave me again cause Bad things will happen to you right!?"
Tumblr media
Agent 3 / Captain 3
(There's 2 types of agent 3 but I'll be discussing the captain 3 from splatoon 3!)
● Now 3 would be the silent but slightly controlling sort type of yandere
● everything all started when you first recruited by the new new Squidbeak Splatoon and became the new agent 3 in alterna and ever since you joined in 3 took a small liking to your eagerness and confidence and 3 kinda liked that
● She would do things to help you but try to also try to be the serious captain that She is like popping up behind you scaring the ink out of you and giving you advice on new missions in kettles
● 3 also has a whole small to medium sized book all about you just like Marie has with Agent 4 and what you like or don't like how much times that you brush your teeth in a whole week most amount of time you weared a certain cloths/brand
● and she would rarely give some gifts like a pretty flower that she found or something that would at least make you interested she could also train you if you wanted to but expect little to no break time around training Time
●but sometimes when your about to do a hard kettle sometimes 3 will just stop you there and go in herself and Let's hope those fuzzy octolings get the quick treatment from 3 ...
●And at times she would just tell you to take a break when you're working a bit to hard for her standards she won't go to weird precautions to hug you silently and so damn hard that it might turn your bones to dust
● 3 also would politely and very quietly ask you for dates at her house and most of it is just hanging out or cuddling each other witch is pretty much ok
● Surprisingly she doesn't barely get jealous with other people if that is if they become a jerk to you She won't be afraid at ALL to do some "talking" to the person stop them
●Overall 3 may be a be a big ol no talk hard-core captain but she's a softie and will do things no other inkling would even think of you to do for you
"Uh Y/n can we talk about something tomorrow it's about a certain guy I should be talking about "
Tumblr media
Bonus!
Neo Agent 3
ya'll really really like these yandere headcanons so here is a little bonus for 22 likes for all of you guys 👍
● Neo 3 would be the Dedicated and slightly hard-core loving kind of yandere
● It all started you both met each other in the lobby playing turf wars and you practicing for the next fews anarchy battle with your weapons and just after a long time you met Neo 3 and she was an experience to say the least...
● she was a bit rough in the edges but overall you both became quick friends with each other doing more turf wars and open anarchy battles with together and had pretty great teamwork
●but she would do some crazy things to either flirt or interest you to and add it to the max since she is the most chaotic agent in the group
●and you would not believe what she'll do for you at all
● she would do things like set up fireworks at random open place to impress you she'll replicate every move and strategy you do she'll even as far to redecorate a entire room in her house to have a piano and she'll lie on it while wearing a bright colored dress and she'd fed herself grapes...
●but not only that but she would strangely get EXTREMELY aggressive at times at not only turf wars but at times where just talking to a random octoling or inkling and suddenly Neo 3 would just suddenly slam their head on a locker or a wall for literally just having a conversation with you about chargers
● she would also take you on trips you sometimes didn't want to go at all to but she brought you anyway like som sudden 3 hour hike in the middle of the desert and consider them as "Dates"
● she would start to be more possessive of your life and what you do no friends no family not a single word you would utter to them
● but one day you took an afternoon walk after a heated argument with Neo about her taking over your whole life but until then you were sitting on a bench thinking of apologizing to her and reasoning with her but you felt pressure on your neck and everything blacked out on your eyes
● Great you've been Kidnapped by Neo and this new life will be with her and doing hard-core activities and having romantic times with her forced to make you love her
● and wipe out any ideas or dreams of you escaping her cause she'll go unknown lengths to find you a get you back and when you get back it's not gonna be fun for you......
" Y/n just face it you're not going to leave me EVER"
Tumblr media
And done I hope you all enjoyed my first ever yandere headcanons along with the little edit and the addition as always stay safe stay cool and most importantly stay on the nice side my dudes peace ✌️

Humans seem to have a "switch"
Team building exercises and competitive events are commonplace around the Galaxy. Everyone needs a distraction from the daily grind every now and then, and large organizations and long-term deployments make it essential for such "ice-breaker" activities, both to help integrate newcomers as well as reduce the chance of veterans becoming numb to life.
Yarvut Lyetzsnezhniiy had recently been assigned as a Cultural Analyst to the Human embassy aboard the Coalition Governing Station. While highly professional on the job and quite amicable, but wasn't all that into small talk, and once the workday was over, he was gone. No overtime, no hanging out, nothing.
When time came for the next publicly broadcast Cross-Embassy Game Series, where as many members from each species represented would be paired up with each other over the course of several days and partake in a game both agreed to in advance. Most of these were of the mental variety, and were honestly kinda boring to observe, but some pairings opted for more... active activities.
On the second day the Humans and another bipedal species called the Jorval had agreed to a competition not dissimilar to laser tag. This had actually been proposed by the previous Cultural Analyst and recently been added to the roster with some modifications. Two teams of, in this case, 15 participants on each side, as that was how many Humans were available that day without hindering the core operations of their embassy, so a few Jorvals had to sit out.
They entered a large spherical room with about a 300 meter diameter. Once they were done with the formalities, rules about safety, and yadda yadda - they turned off the gravity. Using small boosters on their heels, knees, elbows, and back, the teams floated to their starting locations on opposite ends of the sphere. And now the obstacles gently puttered in from all sides, turning a pristine empty space into a jungle of jarringly colored geometric shapes, natural looking plant replicas, and numerous traversable but obscuring meshes that come in all colors and patterns. Where once you could observe the entire area from anywhere, now there were scarcely any vistas that would allow one to see more than 50 meters away.
All for a simple capture the flag laser tag game. The Jorval have fairly long lifespans and, though they have not engaged in any wars for generations, military training is compulsory and seen as a matter of course by most of their society, so even the most desk-dedicated office workers are in generally good shape and have some reflexive combat moves at the ready. The Human team on the other hand, had one guy who used to be in the army... 40 years ago, two had taken up martial arts as a hobby, and Yarvut who turns out was an air-soft enthusiast. The rest were your typical either slightly too thin or too thick office workers when it came to their physical readiness.
Before the signal to start, the army guy, Brandon, gave out some tips and pointers, though it was likely going over everyone's heads as they tried to adjust to moving around in zero-g. No sooner had the game started, Yarvut dashed off on his own. Everyone did kinda feel he might do a lone wolf thing, but that, unsurprisingly, was short lived, as not even the two minute mark had struck when Yarvut found himself ambushed from three sides and was now locked in his suit gently pressed up against a tree-like obstacle with a modest view of the Jorval turf.
It would be a best of three, and, predictably, the first match ended with a strong Jorval victory by the seventeenth minute mark. However, it was not a total wipeout as the initial minutes might have suggested. Half of the remaining Humans were taken out within five, but by then Brandon had gotten used to moving in all directions and keeping tabs on the z-axis as well, and was coordinating a defensive tactic with the remaining members. He knew they would lose this match, but he was bent on making the Jorval earn it and show him what they could really do. In the end, every Human was taken out, and the Jorval had lost only three members, though all of which fell victim to the final holdout against just four Humans.
When it was time to swap home bases for the next match, before Brandon could start elaborating on his new tactics, Yarvut surprised everyone by huddling everyone together for a tactical discussion himself. From his position early on he was left with nothing else to do but carefully and calmly observe how the Jorval moved, where they focused their sights on, how close they tend to stick to each other, and other minor details which Brandon was deeply impressed by. Using this newfound perspective and knowledge, Brandon came up with a far more refined strategy for both offense and defense.
Seemingly bolstered by the humiliating defeat, the rest of them were also more motivated, and the entire Human team now gave off, what the neutral observers of the games described as, a different aura. Like something had flipped, that turned this group of people they knew and worked with and respected and generally liked, into something menacing, a focused machine almost. The look in their eyes through the visors sent shivers down most everyones spines or equivalents whenever a camera operator decided to do a zoom in.
Upon the start signal, the Humans split into five squads, one pair on defense duty, one four person team on patrol around the immediate vicinity, and three squads of three on offense, taking the longest route all around the edge of the sphere going for a three-sided ambush of the Jorval's home turf. It was amazing to see how much smoother and more coordinated each Human moved now, when before it was the first time most of them were expected to maneuver in zero-g using suits they had never worn before. You could literally see them adapting and intuitively getting a better by the minute at handling the booster-based movement, and navigating and keeping tabs on all three dimensions. Some were better at it than others, but even the most clumsy of the Humans was still visibly more comfortable now than thirty minutes ago.
The patrol squad had a quick skirmish with a Jorval scout, paralyzing his legs before he made a rapid retreat and taking no wounds themselves. Then a minute of silence, interrupted by a burst of activity coming from the Jorval base, then another minute of silence.
Yarvut was the only of the attack squad members to return, his left arm paralyzed, but he rushed past the defense members to plant the enemy flag in their base and take the win. It was now 1-1.
Another huddle, nobody even needed to call for it, now everyone on the Human team had fully switched to "hunter mode", as a Human audience member called it.
The third and deciding match wasn't even close. Once again, five squads, but this time three each and all in attack formation. They did not give the Jorval even time to fully disperse before the Humans came barreling through the obstacles just thirty seconds after the start signal. Shock and awe - every Jorval was taken out in the next twenty seconds, no Human losses.
Combining what everyone conveyed about their opponents from the second match with Yarvut's keen observations from the first, Brandon figured the Jorval were behaving in a standardized and heavily drilled pattern and would likely repeat it for the third, perhaps with minor alterations expecting another three-way ambush or some other sneaky and delayed attack. Their scout had also not arrived all that fast, so they must have trained to be very methodical in their approach. Brandon also employed a methodical defense the first time, then a coordinated precision strike, so, naturally, it was time for a sledgehammer approach.
And it worked beautifully, completely catching everyone off guard, even the audience. Blink and you missed the entire action. Everyone knows Humans can be reckless and even downright crazy, but to witness them going full "hunter mode" was a first for practically all observers. And this was just some office workers and an elderly former low ranking soldier. What kind of monsters were their actual well trained and fully geared up soldiers then?

I really want to limit how much I describe the sentient aliens as they are not the focus of these stories, but it would be awkward to keep saying "those bipedal aliens", so a compromise this time. How they look beyond bipedal I'll leave entirely to your imagination.

A Review of Agency: The Progression of Stelle's Identity and Individuality
Tumblr media
This piece was honestly a long time coming, but I never had the time or words to really go very in depth about it. I'll be discussing the progression of Stelle's sense of identity throughout the story from the prologue to where we currently are. Spoilers ahead for events from 1.5!
To cut right to the chase, Stelle's sense of identity is a fragile one. From the beginning, she woke with no memories, only a very small sense of self, a name, and the weight of some constant, foreign warmth in her chest. Going along with Dan Heng and March 7th, when she had no idea of anything going on, was her only real option. It was with them that she found her first sense of identity. The Express Crew, to her, are her first family. Anything before then doesn't matter. Why would it? She doesn't remember it.
Throughout the Belobog, her sense of identity with the crew strengthened, and I'm sure that this would have been noticed by the crew too, as she settled into a comfortable confidence, settled into that natural leader role between the three who went on the expedition down to Jarilo-VI's surface. I like to think that the experiences in Belobog were the most formative for Stelle's current identity. It was here that her strange sense of pragmatism and practicality blossomed, what with her venturing into caverns and calyxes and hoarding materials. It's where she made her first true friends after joining the Express. Her sense of humor really solidified here, as did her protectiveness, her love for her companions, her selflessness, her heroism. It was on Belobog that she finally was able to say: Hi, I'm Stelle, a Nameless on the Astral Express.
All of that newly found sense of identity pretty much shattered on the Luofu. With my interpretation of Stelle, her questions followed those I chose during Kafka's one-truth-one-lie game: she asked about Blade and Dan Heng's history, and got a lie. She knew it was a lie because of what she'd already learned about the Luofu's customs and the importance of the Vidyadhara's High Elder. There was no way that he would have been an apprentice to whoever Blade was in the past. So she asked about herself.
That was a mistake.
Stelle'd always had a feeling that something was off about her, lack of memories notwithstanding. Her durability, her ability to house a Stellaron, her ability to switch between Paths so seamlessly, everything. But to have it confirmed to her, that she was artificial, that she was made to receive the Stellaron, that Kafka raised and trained her, rattled her from the inside out. She felt sick. These were the people that had abandoned her, effectively, weren't they? They stood in opposition to her family. There was still some fragment of hope that maybe -- just maybe -- Kafka had been lying, despite her promise to honor the rules of the game. All that was dashed across the pavement when Blade spoke to her, told her he remembered her.
She returned to the Express incredibly shaken, questioning everything she'd done. If she was made to receive the Stellaron, then was it truly her destiny to face Nanook? What would happen after she'd fulfilled that purpose?
...Would she just cease to exist?
It's here that Stelle's distaste for losing her agency comes out in full force, as she's still defiant of "destiny" and whatever fate Kafka says she has. She did everything she could to avoid the battles that Kafka said she'd have to deal with while Blade was incapacitated. This is another key aspect of her sense of self: Stelle is terrified of losing any sense of control over her own person. She refuses to get drunk or high, and taste testing that Flaming Potent Tea the first time, which she did out of kindness, was such a horrific experience that she never did it again. I know it's a daily mission, but Stelle would have never touched that tea again.
Returning to Belobog, saving them from the IPC, and participating in the Aetherium Wars was such a welcome reprieve for her, and she was able to find that sense of stability within herself again. Belobog truly is like a second home to her, with all the people she has befriended and grown to love.
Now we move onto 1.5, after Stelle has had a chance to recover somewhat from the revelation of her origins from Kafka.
Getting possessed by Cirrus fucked her up something fierce. Having something else (aside from the Stellaron) existing within her body? Losing control of her own voice? Being forced to say such awful things to Huohuo without any semblance of control, no matter how much she fought the possession? Awful. She felt disgusting, she -- she wanted to rip into her own body and tear Cirrus out herself, even though she knew she couldn't. Seeing the same thing happen to everyone else was nothing short of uncomfortable, and that is saying the least. Did she complain? No. Was she happy to help out? Yes. Did she even have fun at some points? Sure. But overall, the ghost hunting experience was very unpleasant for her. Everywhere she looked, the loss of agency, the corruption, only sowed more chaos and unhappiness. Plus, Fu Xuan's possession and the words she (Keralum) spoke only brought the memories of Kafka's idea of fate back into full force.
Stelle values having a sense of individuality so much as she was effectively made without any, and it's why she's fiercely protective of Dan Heng's own sense of individuality. It's going to take her a long time to recover from losing her autonomy so frequently in such a relatively short amount of time, and the idea that fate is not something that can be altered or changed is, going forward, going to be met with even more hostility than before.
Honestly, at this point, Stelle is glad to be done with the Luofu. She's grateful for the people she's met, but she signed up for exactly none of the experiences and all the turmoil and war hidden under the layers of grandeur. She lost a lot of confidence in herself and the idea of who she is as a person specifically on the Luofu, and she watched the same thing happen to Dan Heng, who is one of the most important people in the universe to her. She loves Huohuo and Sushang, but aside from them I can't exactly say she established a sense of closeness to any of the other residents. She's not very keen to return any time soon.

tta episode 9
“Last time, on Total Takes Action: our remaining players competed in an all-out chick flick extravaganza, complete with the infamous makeover scene and a climatic test of intelligence and cunning- in the end, Scary subverted the trope expectations and won immunity, but not without throwing a world-class tantrum first. Sha-Mod ended up voting himself out to protect his identity, leaving only six players behind. Who will be walking the plank today? And who will be taking one step closer to the grand prize of one million dollars? Find out now, on Total! Takes! Island!”
Thunder rumbles overhead Toronto, and this season, it’s not the result of Chris’ scientific tampering. A thick fleet of rain pours down over the film lot, casting everything in a filter of gray.
As per usual, Scruffy is up bright and early (though it’s not very bright today) for their daily pre-challenge training. It’s hardly five in the morning and they’re already dressed, stretching in the boys and such trailer and jogging in place as they brush their teeth in the communal bathrooms.
As they spit out a mouthful of toothpaste, a loud shriek makes them jump.
“Oh, no! The challenge is starting already?” They throw their toothbrush carelessly and run outside. “I didn’t even run my 85 laps around the set yet!”
They throw open the bathroom door and step into the rain to see… a pile of suitcases, clothes, and furnishings on the grass.
A microwave flies out of the girls’ and such trailer and lands on the mountain of things. Peter pokes his head out of the adjacent mobile home and he ducks just in time for a fork to go flying overhead.
“What on earth?” Scruffy scratches their chin.
Their question answers itself, though, as Scary storms out, tugging at their blonde hair with a wild expression on their face. “CHRIS!”
The intercom crackles to life, the feedback making everyone cover their ears for protection as it squeals. “Yeeeees?”
“I KNOW YOU’RE BEHIND THIS!”
Scruffy jogs over to the doorway and hovers in front of Scary. “What’s up?”
“That weasel took my notes- all of the notes I’ve been taking since we got here!” she groans. “This wouldn’t have happened if you were pulling your weight around here!”
“Hey, I’m staying in the game. Isn’t that enough?”
“No!”
“Well, this has been heartwarming,” Chris’ voice blares. “But you’re not so special, Scary- if everyone would please check their belongings...”
Scruffy thinks for a moment, and then pats their pockets. “My whistle!”
Peter digs around his shirt. “My girlfriend!”
A piercing shriek, louder than both Scary and the intercom feedback, makes everyone wince. Fren dashes out of the trailer, dumping an empty drawer on the ground. “My clothes! That sadist took my clothes!” he drops to his knees and cries out to the heavens as the rain pours down. “THAT MONSTER!”
Max stands in the doorway of the trailer, rolling his eyes.
---
MAX: “So, Chris took some stuff. Big deal. This is probably some dumb pirate treasure hunt episode, and at the end of the challenge he’ll reveal he actually burned all of our things and the grand prize is a bag of chips,” he sighs. “Still, it’d be nice if he chose something other than my shoes to take.”
---
The rain continues pouring down on camp, the water pooling on the top of the craft services tent and weighing down on it. O watches the rain indent the fabric and grits his teeth nervously.
No one else seems to notice, though, as they’re all busy dealing with the recoil from their missing necessities. Scary is hurriedly leafing through a physics book, surrounded by other open editions, Fren has had to substitute his usual flair for plain black clothes lended by the interns, and Max is wearing a pair of O’s sneakers.
Only Scruffy still seems chipper, hurriedly weaving something out of grass.
---
SCRUFFY: “In preparation for Total Takes Island, I took a weaving class, a spinning class, a sewing class, and swim aerobics. That last one was free,”
---
They finish their creation, and hold up a tiny horn as a whistle substitute. “Alright, I’m up! If I'm fast, I'll get 30 in before the challenge!” they shout, standing and jogging outside for their laps.
Fren nervously twirls a strand of hair around his finger at one end of the long table. He looks down at his outfit, then back up around the room, then to the camera. “Please tell me the cameras are still capturing my colors?”
The camera man shakes his head. Fren sighs.
Peter walks over and sets his breakfast tray on the table next to Fren. “Everything okay?”
He puts on a smile and looks up. “Great!”
Peter doesn’t look quite convinced, but doesn’t push, anyway. “Hey, wait, didn’t you once design a whole fashion line out of palm leaves and dental floss?”
“This is different!"
Max raises an eyebrow from across the table. The intercom crackles to life and Chris’ voice blares over the sound of the rain.
“Good morning, victims! Get your butts outside the craft services tent, ASAP!”
Scruffy groans from afar.
---
The small group of campers huddles outside the trailers, looking between each other as they’re drenched in rain. Chris, decked out in a raincoat and holding an umbrella, smiles warmly.
“Great weather we’re having, huh?”
“Cut to the chase,” Scary’s eyes narrow.
He chuckles. “Alright, alright. Today’s challenge is simple- or is it? This episode is all about mystery, suspense, and the unknown,”
Max pipes up from the back, eyes wide. “You don’t mean?”
“Oh, I do. Today’s theme is detective noir!”
Scary rolls their eyes and no one else really reacts to the news, though everyone turns around after a high-pitched squeal comes from the back of the group. Max stares back, then clears his throat and straightens his tie.
“Alright then,” Chris chuckles. “I’m sure a few of you have noticed you’re missing a few meaningless souvenirs-”
“MEANINGLESS?!” Fren shrieks. This time, it’s him everyone stares at. He chuckles nervously. “I’m just saying!”
“I hate to admit that he’s right, but…” Scary sighs. “I need my notes back.”
“…And I’m sure you’re all wondering how you’re going to get them back,” Chris smiles. “All these questions and more will be answered… by YOU! Here's the deal: one of you was paid six hundred dollars by moi to swipe from your fellow contestants- who? That’s for everyone else to decide! You'll have the day to hunt for clues, collect evidence, and then when your time is up, you'll all vote on the suspect.”
“Wow!” Peter says. “Kind of like Am-”
“COPYRIGHT!” Chris shouts. “And it’s nothing like that! You have until the end of the day to catch the culprit and recover the missing goods. There’ll be some fun surprises along the way, too.”
“Define fun,” O asks.
Chris chuckles. “Oh, you’ll know. Ciao!”
The host walks off, leaving the last six competitors behind.
---
SCARY: “One of these rats stole the weeks worth of notes I’ve been building my case with. If I can’t get them back, goodbye lawsuit, goodbye Chris McLean lifetime prison sentence!”
---
PETER: “I’m not too worried about the missing goods,” he pulls another picture out of his back pocket. “I always carry a spare! But I am worried about everyone turning on each other. I don't want to pick sides...”
---
SCRUFFY: “Yes! Okay- so not only is this a totally chill, laid-back, relaxed, super fun easy fun challenge, it’s also got something to do with physical harm- based on Chris’ tone! I can ace this!” their eye twitches.
---
Fren wails in the confessional.
---
MAX: “What? Why should I care about this challenge?” he pauses and then grins. “Okay, fine- I love mysteries! Capers, cold cases, riddles, puzzles- I even have a detective alter-ego named Raleigh Dubois-” he pauses and turns red. “I’ve said too much.”
---
O: “I’m just hoping nobody figures out that nothing was stolen from me. I don’t know why, but Chris put a massive target on my back- I don’t even have a fighting chance, and I'm a terrible liar...”
---
The remaining players sit around the table in the craft services tent, looking between each other in silence. The air is thick with electricity- either from the rising tensions, or from the lightning outside.
Finally, Peter breaks. “I can’t stand this! Why cant we just work together?!”
“That’s not how this works,” Scary snaps. “Now, we just have to wait until the culprit snaps under the pressure, I can get my notes back, and they’ll be sent home- with a broken spine!”
“That’s it!” Max stands, slamming his fists on the table. “If you all want to take the easy way out, that’s fine- but I respect the sanctity of an open case, and I’m going to solve this on my own!”
He storms out. Scary rolls her eyes.
---
MAX: “I came back for Michela. And to get out of that terrible peanut gallery, but mostly for Chel. Now, she’s gone, and until today, I had nothing left to keep going for- but now I have a purpose! I have a motive! I have a case!” he pauses, then pulls a fedora out from under the counter, fixing it on his head. “Raleigh Dubois is on it!”
---
Max sits in a dark room, adjusting a lamp light. He angles it upwards and shines it in someone’s face. They wince.
“Is that really necessary?” Peter asks.
“Very,” Max says. “I find the blinding light to be… calming. Makes a liar nervous and an innocent man blind.”
“How is that fair?”
“It works for me,” he shrugs, then pulls out a notepad. “Run me through your day. Take your time.”
---
“Well…” Scruffy says. “I got up at 5:00 AM sharp, got dressed, brushed my teeth, then I heard this terrible banshee scream…”
---
Scary rolls her eyes. “I went to add the weather for my daily log and my notes were missing. My notes. My notes! For idiots like you, that’d be like waking up and missing a leg!”
---
“Where to start?” Fren thinks. “Well, as per usual, I went to Chef to see if I received any fan mail…”
Max looks up from his notepad, eyebrow raised. “Did you?”
“Ahaha!” he grins. “Of course! Tons!”
---
O quivers. “I-I-I um.. I- I- where’s my lawyer?!”
Max stares back. “I just asked you to state your name,”
---
“It was obviously targeted. So whoever did it must’ve known these notes are important to you,” Max says, clicking his ballpoint pen. “I would ask if you have any enemies, but that’d be a rhetorical question.”
Scary bares her teeth. “How am I supposed to know that you’re not the sellout?”
“I might be. What're you gonna do?”
---
Fren smiles confidently. “After an hour lost on the streets of New Delhi, we found our way to the river-”
“This has nothing to do with the question,”
“It does so! You asked what I was missing, and I’m giving you a detailed account of each item,” he crosses his arms. “You should be thanking me. Anyway, let’s talk about my cashmere scarf. It was winter in the Swiss Alps…”
Max massages his temples and groans.
---
“My whistle,” Scruffy thinks. “An odd choice, considering I have my own notes in the trailer… maybe the thief only cares about Fren and Scary!”
“It’s not necessarily the object, it’s the obstacle it creates,” Max mutters, taking down notes. “Your whistle helps you with your… “training”, so taking it caused you to miss your two hours this morning.”
“Ah! Right! I knew that!” they nod. "I totally knew that!"
Max rolls his eyes.
---
“What am I missing?!” O chuckles nervously, scratching his arm rapidly. “My, um… my catcher’s mitt! It was my grandpa’s, it’s a family heirloom! I take it everywhere, it’s lucky!”
“Really,” Max raises an eyebrow.
O laughs like an insane person.
---
MAX: “So far, not much. All I’m sure of is that whoever did the swiping obviously knows their way around the cast. They have a lot of observational skills, and they’re brave enough to seriously hurt someone’s feelings- or pride. That cuts out Peter,” he thinks aloud. “Scary wouldn’t take the 600 at the price she’s holding over Chris’ head, plus everyone would suspect her. O… I’m not sure.”
---
Scary sits on the steps to the trailer, munching popcorn and watching Fren and Scruffy argue over who’s missing memento is more important.
“Max said it himself! It’s not the object, it’s the symbolism!” Scruffy shouts.
Max’s voice rings out from inside the trailer. “Not what I said!”
Fren scoffs, offended. “As if my clothes aren’t symbolic! I’m not some cheap whore, I have goals, you know!”
“Outside of clothes?” Scary chuckles. “Please.”
“Oh, you'd be surprised. I mean- I did charity work in the Himalayas!” Fren shrieks. “I am a person of substance and interest!”
Max pokes his head out of the trailer, holding a few plastic bags. “Can you keep it down out here? I’m trying to focus,”
“On what? Role-playing?" Scary rolls her eyes. “Please. We all know you’re the thief, anyway.”
“In your dreams,”
“You are most certainly not a part of my dreams,” she scoffs. “Unless you’re dead or in prison.”
Max rolls his eyes and goes back inside the cabin, Scruffy following as he and Fren disperse. Scary rolls her eyes.
---
SCARY: “What do I think? It was O. Obviously. He’s been avoiding us all day- not exactly a great secret-keeper. But I want to drag this out as long as possible, to teach a certain green-haired traitor a lesson,”
---
"So, we can all agree that it's O, right?" Scary asks, flicking a dust bunny off their lab coat.
Peter and Fren look between each other as they huddle around the table in the craft services tent.
"Why?" Peter finally asks.
"Duh. He's an observant therapy-freak so he knows all our weaknesses, he's been missing all day, and nothing of his was taken," Scary sighs. "While Max has been busy getting that stick out of his ass, I went through O's things, and nothing was out of place! I catalogue everyone's belongings at the beginning of every week, so I would know."
"You what?"
"Irrelevant. He's so obviously the culprit,"
---
SCARY: "I know nothing about detective work, or human drama, but... I feel like I'm aceing this,"
---
Scruffy rocks back and forth on the floor in the trailer, mumbling to themselves as Max digs through suitcases and looks under beds. After the trainee starts biting themselves, Max sighs and turns. “Can I help you?”
“No, no, I’m fine! I’m fine! Totally staying in the competition, I totally know what’s going on all the time! I am super chill!”
“Jesus Christ,” Max mutters under his breath.
---
MAX: “So this is pure, unbridled insanity. I can cross Scruffy off the list, unless they're secretly an A-list actor. No... but that is an interesting thought, isn't it? Someone who acts overwhelming as a cover...”
---
He peers out of the doorway and watches as Fren paces around the grass, throwing his hands up and kicking his legs out and groaning.
---
"It's gotta be five o'clock by now," Scary murmurs, pacing around the craft services tent. "Where is he? Where could he hide?"
No one responds. Peter is busy twirling his thumbs, Fren is picking at the scratchy, unflattering sweater he was given, and Scruffy- recently relocated from the trailer- is scribbling nonsense in the dirt.
"Pete, go check the bathrooms," Scary instructs, pointing outside into the dark, pouring rain.
He winces, but doesn't push back, standing and disappearing into the dark.
Scary puts her hands on her hips and huffs, looking around. "Where's the pipsqueak?"
---
The emerald green equipment tent provides adequate cover from the rain- although the wind blows in a few drops as Max opens one of the flaps and sneaks inside.
He surveys the area for interns, and once the coast is clear, he sets up a PC and enters a few passwords before cracking into the system with “chrisisawesome1”. He pulls up a search engine and takes a deep breath.
---
Peter, holding O's hand, coaxes him back into the craft services tent with the promise that no harm will come to him.
"It'll be fine, there are witnesses!"
"That's not helpful!" O whisper-shouts back.
Sure enough, as soon as he's inside, Scary pounces on him and drags him to the table, handcuffing him to the leg while he shrieks and struggles.
"Can it, limp noodle!" he snaps. "We know you did it- and as soon as the shrimp is back, we're voting you out. Bye-bye!"
"Hey, hey, we haven't reached a consensus yet," Peter says, trying to mediate.
"Can it!"
Scruffy holds up a finger. "No- he's right- we need evidence! We need-"
"You're next, jellybean," Scary narrows her eyes. "In fact, you're my next choice- trying to make everyone's lives harder so you get an easy ride to the finale, huh?"
"I don't even want to go to the finale, I just want to know how this game works!"
Scary drops O and storms over to the corner Scruffy is in. "Here's how this works: you don't abandon your lab partner for a stupid rigged game show just because it hurts your frail little ego! Not everything is about Total Drama!"
"You're wrong!" Scruffy sobs, holding their head in their hands. "Total Drama is life!"
"Oh my God- How am I not the craziest person on this island!"
Fren scratches his arm. "You'll all have your time,"
"What was that?"
"Nothing,"
The tent flap suddenly flies open and Chris walks in, carried in a throne with a roof by four struggling interns. They set his chair down at the end of the table and scamper away.
"Good evening, campers. Have we reached a verdict?”
Everyone falls silent. Scruffy hangs their head. O says a prayer. Finally, Scary speaks: "I think we have,"
The players look between each other.
“Only one of us had nothing stolen- only one of us could be stupidly pressured into taking $600 over a million- only one of us was gone almost all day,” Scary claps her hands for emphasis. “O is the thief!”
O protests. “No! I don’t know why nothing was stolen from me! I’m innocent!”
“Lies!”
The campers break out into argument- as they do, the tent flap opens again and Max walks in, grinning. Scary pauses from yelling at Scruffy to scoff. “What’re you so smug about?”
“You’re wrong,”
“Excuse me, shortstack?”
“You’re wrong. And a shoddy detective,” he stands, pacing the room. “I’ll admit, even I was fooled for a while- O has the motive, the know-how, and a shoddy alibi- he’s a smart guy. But not as smart as a certain someone in this room.”
“No need to pat your own back,” Scary rolls her eyes.
“I wasn’t talking about me,” Max says, pulling a stack of papers from his blazer and slamming them down on the table. The players, and Chris, crowd around them.
The top of the stack is a picture of a familiar face, standing on a stage- the headline reading “Teen Theatre Prodigy Awarded in London”.
“From the start, I was suspicious. We all knew he was lying in one way or another, but... what if he wasn't?" Max says, pacing. "What if Fren really has done all those things... as characters?"
The table goes silent, looking between each other. The silence holds until it’s pierced by a delightful, almost cheerful laugh. Fren chuckles, wiping a tear from his eye.
“Oh, God, it took you all so long!”
“What?” Scary demands, staring at him. “What are you talking about?!”
He sighs and leans forward, balancing his head in his palms. “It was almost too easy! A movie-based season? For an auteur? An artiste? A free exercise in my skills, with a monetary prize?” he grins. “The “Frendom”? My fans from back home. I have a lot, after all. All my elaborate stories, my impeccable personality? ‘Fren’ was a fascinating character to play, almost corny in how over-exaggerated he is. Alas, that kind of swagger is brushed off in this show.”
Max smiles triumphantly as Fren pulls off his baggy sweater, revealing a black shirt underneath with everyone's items strapped to his torso.
“At some point, I just began seeing how far I could push this before someone started suspecting something,” he chuckles, tossing everyone their things. “I salute you, Maxwell.”
“It’s just Max, actually,”
“Whatever,” Fren says. “Congratulations on out-smarting Miss Poser.” he jabs his thumb in Scary’s direction. She growls. “Oh, don’t be like that. You’ll get your due. Most of you will.”
“Well,” Chris grins. “I think it’s safe to say that Max has won immunity today- the rest of you, I’ll see later!”
Chris walks off and Scary growls, storming after him. Fren grins.
---
FREN: "Was it manipulative? Yes. Was it deceptive, scheming, conniving? Absolutely. But I served, and if anything- I wasn't boring. After my character- the beta Fren from Island- failed right off the bat, I realized I was going to have to add some extra spice to my performance. And oh, did it flourish from there! I could've made such an excellent antagonist, if I hadn't gone for the "insecurities revealed" plot... alas, there's always the next season,"
---
Fren leans against the boy's trailer, Peter next to him. The rain has finally cleared up and the late afternoon sun is beaming down on the set. “So it was all a character?” the shorter brunet asks.
“More or less- I like to give all my characters a little sprinkle of myself. Fren is me, I am Fren, but we’re different. Understand?”
Peter rubs his head. “I think. Are we still friends?”
“Mmm… no. But we can be,” Fren holds out his hand for a shake. “My legal name is Alistair.”
“Peter!” he eagerly accepts the gesture.
A loud scream emanates from the communal bathrooms and Scary runs out in a towel, clutching their head- their perfect blonde hair changed to a deep, midnight black.
Peter and Fren watch him run to the trailers to attack Max with a large stick.
“Was that you?” Peter asks.
Fren shrugs. “Hey, the hair dye in the confessionals is free. Now she can be a proper emo, and maybe get some acting lessons- her character last season was so dull!”
---
“Well, players… much to talk about today,” Chris chuckles. “Fren pulled a Scary on us and revealed Fren-ception… mostly thanks to Max’s expert detective skills. Or should I say Raleigh’s?” Max turns red and glares. “Nonetheless, it won him immunity, and put the rest of the cast on the chopping block.”
“Our first Gilded Chris goes to… Scruffy,”
“Peter,”
“Scary,”
“O- you unintentionally mislead everyone by acting weird… by trying not to act weird. And you cost Scary the immunity- great work, dude! And Fren- though your acting skills and secret villainy are admired, you also mislead… everyone!” Chris grins. “And the last Gilded Chris… goes to…”
“…O. Sorry, Fren. Maybe next time!”
Fren grins and stands, waving goodbye to the cast as he walks the red carpet. “Don’t worry about me, friends! I’ll be on a real red carpet soon!”
The cast watches him disappear into the Lame-o-Sine and drive off.
“Riveting! Is anyone who they say they are? Will Scary stay emo? Find out next time, on Total! Takes! Action!”

[TRIVIA]
The Prince of Tennis 10.5 Fanbook | Release Date: 11/02/2001
He has two states: his normal state, and his aggressive Burning state he enters when holding a racquet. In his normal state, he is described as being kind and gentle
He likes to invite his friends over to his house to play Monopoly or other games. He also tends to enter his Burning state while playing Monopoly
He developed his Burning state from his father
Konomi came up with his “burning” catchphrase since the phrase was popular at the time and to imply that Kawamura knows little English
He used to attend karate classes, but stopped after starting tennis. He was considered a formidable fighter, but would get too nervous during matches and was unable to yield results
Konomi was inspired to have him change into his Burning state from cases of feeble-minded people driving violently once they’re behind the wheel of a car
He and Fuji are doubles partners since they are the only two in Seigaku besides Oishi and Kikumaru that have the disposition to help each other in doubles matches
He is close with Akutsu’s mother, Yuuki
He states him shouting “burning” has no meaning
He states he does not know why his personality changes when he holds a racquet
When asked if his normal or Burning state is his true personality, he responds that both of them are
He is a fan of Lupin III and has nicknamed Fuji “Fujiko” after Fujiko Mine, the heroine of the series
When asked if he’s going to take over his father’s sushi shop, he states that he hasn’t thought about it
He is aware of his actions when he’s in his Burning state
His personality is described as someone who should understand their other side more to let their charms blossom
Konomi describes him as a “character you won’t dislike”. He wanted to have a player with a dual personality and with Kawamura being the last member he created, he wanted him to be someone no one would dislike
The Prince of Tennis 20.5 Fanbook | Publication Date: 12/04/2003
He keeps his room clean and actually tends to be meticulous
He has a strong sense of duty and humanity and highly values his friends
He’s described to be family-oriented and have many different sides to him
He likes high-end ingredients such as Matsutake mushrooms and salmon roe
He has a tendency to be reckless when he’s determined to win
His secondary sport would be judo
The Prince of Tennis 40.5 Fanbook | Publication Date: 12/04/2007
He’s described to be passionate and devoted and the type to love only one woman with all of his heart
In Genius 249, his training in the mountains with Momoshiro greatly increased his natural muscle mass. An old man who resided there had mistook him for an ogre
Konomi had wanted to depict his match against Ishida as the last match he would ever play

My Dog Gets Overly Excited When We Have Visitors — How Do I Calm Her Down?
Tumblr media
Q. My 5-year-old Golden Retriever is well behaved and follows commands when she is at the vet, at the groomer, and at home with me. But when I have visitors, she becomes overly excited and barks, and will not obey commands. What can I do about this behavior? She absolutely ignores me when visitors come to my house.
A. This is the most common complaint I hear from pet owners: The sound of the doorbell often unleashes an eruption of barking, racing back and forth, pawing and scratching at the door, and jumping all over any and all guests. Even worse, an excitable pooch takes several minutes to calm down enough to respond to familiar commands. Your situation — where your dog listens well under relaxed conditions but tunes you out when extremely excited — is very normal.
Keep Your Pooch on a Leash When the Doorbell Rings
Start by teaching your dog to do a down stay on a mat when a visitor comes to the door. You will need to teach this behavior well in advance of someone ringing the bell or knocking at your door. Mat training should slowly integrate distractions and visitors as your dog’s training progresses.
In the beginning, give your dog only limited freedom on the end of a leash when a guest comes to the door; over time, work up to having her off leash when the doorbell rings. Have a leash next to the door that you can easily snap onto your dog’s collar when a guest arrives; this will prevent her from racing around your house, dashing out the door, or jumping on your visitor. Be sure to practice your mat work beforehand with the leash on. Using a leash keeps your dog closer at your side and gives you more ability to direct her to perform appropriate behaviors.
Offer Treats — and Distractions
Set up a treat station by the door that is out of reach of your dog, but can easily be accessed when a guest comes over. When a guest comes in, treat your dog for sitting, and then immediately ask her to do another behavior, or simply to stay in the sit to await another treat or petting. You may need to treat your dog more frequently until she learns to behave calmly under the most exciting circumstances.
For instance, when you are home alone, you may only need to treat your dog at the very end of a long sit stay when the door opens. However, when a guest comes over and ups the excitement level significantly, you may need to treat her every few seconds to begin with. Involve your guests and reinforce positive behavior in your dog by asking them to treat or pet your dog only when she’s sitting.
Provide a positive outlet for your dog’s energy once your guest comes in the house. Giving your dog a food puzzle such as, a Kong with peanut butter, a chew toy, or engaging her in an interactive game such as fetch, will direct her excess energy into something productive and distract her from jumping on your visitors.
Outlets for excess energy, such as twice-daily walks or doggy day care, are critical in decreasing your dog’s excitement level. Dogs that rarely get outside to run are understandably going to wreak havoc and be very unresponsive to their owners. However, the more outdoor exercise your dog gets, the more able she will be to relax at home — even when someone exciting comes for a visit.

Robin x Reader
TW! fluff, crack-ish(?), bonding time, chaos everywhere, the school is on fire because of you two, oh my god everyone is dying, Satan is dead
Summary : you both pull an all nighter playing games
Tumblr media
Being with Robin was a daily thing for you. You often like to barge in during his classes to watch only to be kicked out by one of the superiors. But the both of you always hung out after school
The routine was the same, the bell would ring and you'll find him annoying Kalego-sensei.
Today, you found him doing some flamboyant poses at Kalego. Who was clearly very irritated.
Tumblr media
"Robin-Sama!!" Y/N called at the short green man provoking an emo teacher.
"Y/N-Chan! Gotta go Kalego-san!!" He says before dashing over to you.
"What should we do today?" You asked, ideas filled your head as to what you might do. It feels like you've already done everything but whenever you thought that he always comes up with something new.
"Oh! I actually have a student to train for the harvest festival today. Do you wanna join? It'll be fun!"
"Hell yeah! Let's go!!"
Tumblr media
You soon found yourself in a room surrounded by video game cases. There were opened game chips on the floor and in front of you was Robin-Sensei playing a racing game with one of your students, Shax Lied.
Poor boy looked so defeated and tired, heavy bags under his eyes probably from staying up just to play games with your best friend.
"Robin-sama.. why don't we give the boy a break? He looks like he's gonna collapse soon.." You said with concern in your voice.
"I agree, I'm so tire-"
The yellow haired boy was cut off by him collapsing on the cushion and soon drifting off to sleep.
"Ah.. maybe I got too carried away" Robin said with a soft smile.
"Omg wait you have Empire Racers? That's my favourite game! Cmon we gotta play this I'll definitely beat you!" You said holding the game in your hand.
"You're on!"
Hours passed as the both of you go through rows of the pile of games and eventually falling asleep together on the floor.
You can't help but put on a small grin on your face as you feel his body pull you into a cuddle and soon dozing off.

[ attempt ]   ladd attempting to kill claire. ^^
Tumblr media
in some ways, ladd thinks it might be more fun if claire were trying to kill him too. of course, he's flattered that he works so hard to keep him alive. it's also infuriating. claire's confidence that he doesn't even need to fight back to win against ladd makes his blood boil.
nothing gets him in the mood to kill more.
still — sometimes ladd has to provoke him, just a little. otherwise, attacking him out of nowhere is just boring.
what's one little murder, anyway?
blood from his victim splatters over ladd's shirt, && he drops the lifeless body where he stands, making for the roof. claire will see it when he comes back from the restroom, && he'll track him down. it's the perfect plan, the kind of game they play with each other, almost like a murderous dance. smiling to himself, ladd clambers to his feet, bracing against the wind as he gets his footing.
he doesn't have to turn around to know when claire's found him. "sorry sweetheart," he says mildly, not sounding apologetic at all. "you should know better than to leave me alone for more than five minutes — i just can't help myself." he laughs, finally turning, && spreads his arms wide. there's love && murderous intent in his eyes, but they look the same. he's not being entirely truthful ; claire is hardly his impulse control. no, ladd simply waited for the right moment to provoke him. && it worked, && now they're here.
"but, now that we're up here..."
they dash towards each other. ladd swings a fist, one that claire wouldn't even need to dodge — it misses by a wide berth. "just warming up," ladd says, grinning. he ducks to avoid a blow from claire, && tosses his head back to shake his bangs from his eyes. "okay, that's enough warming up."
he's ruthless as ever with his punches && kicks. there's a gun tucked into his waistband, but he doesn't pull it out. other than the way his jaw sets in concentration, there's no indication in his expression that he's not having the time of his life. in his mind, a fantasy plays out, which he narrates aloud as he attacks && retreats in perfect step, so that claire knows exactly how he wants it to happen:
"you know, i feel like i should be insulted that you don't wanna be killed by me." that's how it starts, a melodramatic lament. "see, i've been thinking about it a lot, && it changes almost daily. but right now? i'm gonna hold you over the side of this train, && i'm gonna look into those beautiful eyes one final time until i see gen-u-ine fear. && then i'm gonna just let go, && watch you fall! i'll be sad to not get to watch you die, but what a way to go! what a perfectly poetic ending! from proposal 'til death-do-us part. it's fitting, right? so c'mon, claire! let me kill you!"
of course, that's not how it goes at all. what does happen is ladd ends up flat on his back atop a train car, which claire above him. his grin never once fades. his hands still bloody from his earlier kill, ladd drags a finger over claire's lips. "alright. you win." he sighs regretfully. "it'd be nicer if this blood was yours... oh well. next time!"

If you’re looking for a healthy, natural and “greener” way to optimize your hydration game during the long, hot late summer months, seasonal, locally grown fruits offer a great alternative to sugary sodas and artificial sports drinks. Many summer fruits contain a high-water content as well as a diversity of vitamins and minerals, so increasing your intake will help keep you well-hydrated while delivering a host of important nutrients with every delicious bite. Melons, in particular, are especially rich in water content and are coming into season about now, just in time to quench the thirsts of multitudes of parched farmers market shoppers. So, right on cue, here are some ideas on how to incorporate the top three most common melons you’ll currently find at our farmstalls into your daily hydration habits. Cantaloupe Cantaloupes most likely originated in the Middle East, but get their name from Cantalupo, Italy where they were widely cultivated during the 1700s. Cantaloupes are a super hydrating fruit as they are comprised of 90% water while being chockful of antioxidants, including beta carotene and lutein. The fruit also delivers almost 100% of your recommended daily allowance of vitamin C. When choosing a cantaloupe, follow your nose and pick the one that has a sweet, slightly pungent fragrance. My husband John and I compete in Ironman triathlons together. After a long, intense training session, we are looking to replenish lost electrolytes, calories, and fluid. As part of our post-workout regime, John whips up smoothies in the kitchen blender containing a 3:1 ratio of carbohydrates and vegan protein powder, specifically designed to help with rehydration and muscle recovery. Now that cantaloupes are in season, they are his go-to fruit for adding extra flavor, nutrients, water, and carbs (in the form of glucose, sucrose and fructose) to his smoothie mixology. John shares his “not-so-secret” cantaloupe recovery drink recipe with us here: •    1 scoop vegan protein powder (pea, rice, hemp, pumpkin seed) •    2 cups of cubed chilled cantaloupe •    1 cup blueberries or raspberries •    1.5 cups plain yogurt •    3 ounces of honey or maple syrup •    1 teaspoon spirulina •    6 ice cubes Canary Melon Canary melons are often compared with American footballs to describe their size and shape, while their bright yellow skin sets them apart from their honeydew cousins. The pale, delicate flesh inside belies their colorful exterior and is similar in taste and texture to that of Asian pear, but with extra tanginess. Like cantaloupes, canary melons contain 90% water and are delicious in smoothies, ice pops and sorbet. If you’re looking for a different kind of hydration experience, pick up a bottle of locally-crafted liquor from one of our spirits vendors to make a boozy frozen melon granita with. Canary melons are easy to spot in farmers market stalls this time of year – just look for the telltale daffodil-toned rind. Watermelon Just like its name suggests, watermelon is made up of 92% water, crowning it the hydrating superstar of the melon family. Because watermelon is also naturally high in electrolytes including potassium and magnesium, it can rehydrate you more effectively than plain water alone. You’ll find both the seedless and seeded varieties in our farmers markets. Contrary to widespread belief, seedless watermelon is not a genetically modified (GMO) fruit. Rather, it has been cross-bred or ‘hybridized’ to specifically select for the seedless trait. At a festive patio party in Brooklyn last summer, I had my first ever introduction to watermelon slushie. I couldn’t believe it had been missing from my life up until that moment! It was made from a simple concoction of ripe, seedless watermelon whizzed in the blender along with crushed ice and a dash of freshly squeezed lime juice, then served in a bowl made from the hollowed-out rind. Needless to say, John and I now regularly prepare watermelon slushies to hydrate with during our workouts instead of Gatorade and other sugary sports drinks. So be sure to drink from the cup of melon season while it lasts, as we'll all be feeling rather melon-choly once it's done!

Identifying Your Target Audience
To create successful email campaigns, one of the essential steps is identifying your target audience. Understanding who your audience is and what resonates with them is crucial for crafting engaging and effective email content. Here are some few key to help you identify your target audience and optimize your email marketing strategy:
Define your buyer personas: Develop detailed profiles that represent your ideal customers. Consider factors like demographics, interests, goals, pain points, and buying behaviors. This will provide a solid foundation for tailoring your email campaigns.
Leverage analytics: Dive into your website analytics and email marketing metrics to gather insights about your existing audience. Analyze data such as demographics, engagement rates, and conversion rates to gain a deeper understanding of who is already engaging with your brand.
Conduct market research: Go beyond your existing audience and conduct market research to identify potential customer segments. Use surveys, interviews, and social media listening to gather information about their preferences, challenges, and needs.
Utilize customer feedback: Engage with your customers directly through surveys, feedback forms, or customer support channels. Their input can provide valuable insights into what they appreciate about your products or services and what they would like to see improved.
Monitor competitors: Keep an eye on your competitors’ email marketing strategies and the audiences they target. This can help you identify gaps in the market and understand how to differentiate your campaigns.
By implementing these few keys, you’ll be equipped with a better understanding of your target audience, enabling you to create email campaigns that truly resonate and drive meaningful conversions.
Creating Compelling Subject Lines
Crafting compelling subject lines is a vital aspect of email marketing that can significantly impact the open rates and engagement of your campaigns. To capture the attention of your audience and entice them to open your emails, consider the following few key for creating compelling subject lines:
Personalization: Incorporate personalization elements such as the recipient’s name or location to make the subject line feel more tailored and relevant to them. This can help grab their attention and increase the likelihood of them opening your email.
Curiosity and Intrigue: Spark curiosity in your subject lines by teasing intriguing content or posing thought-provoking questions. Create a sense of anticipation and make recipients curious to learn more, encouraging them to click and open your email.
Urgency: Instill a sense of urgency in your subject lines by incorporating time-sensitive language or limited-time offers. This creates a fear of missing out (FOMO) and compels recipients to take immediate action, increasing open rates and engagement.
Power Words: Incorporate strong and persuasive words that evoke emotions or highlight the benefits your email offers. Words like “exclusive,” “limited,” “free,” or “secret” can grab attention and increase the appeal of your subject lines.
A/B Testing: Experiment with different subject lines by conducting A/B tests. Test variations in length, tone, and wording to see which subject lines generate better open rates. This allows you to refine and optimize your subject lines over time for maximum impact.
Remember, the subject line is the first impression your email makes, so it needs to be compelling enough to stand out in a crowded inbox. By implementing these key tips, you can increase the chances of your emails being opened, read, and engaged with by your target audience.
Designing Engaging Email Templates
The design of your email templates plays a critical role in capturing your recipients’ attention and conveying your brand identity. To create engaging email templates that leave a lasting impression, consider the following few key:
Visual Appeal: Aim for a visually appealing design that aligns with your brand aesthetics. Use complementary colors, attractive typography, and consistent branding elements to create a cohesive and professional look.
Mobile Responsiveness: With the majority of emails being opened on mobile devices, ensure that your email templates are fully responsive. Test your templates across various devices and screen sizes to guarantee a seamless and enjoyable user experience.
Clean and Structured Layout: Keep your email templates clean and well-structured, with clear sections and a logical flow. Use white space effectively to enhance readability and guide the reader’s attention to the most important elements.
Incorporate Eye-Catching Visuals: Utilize high-quality images, graphics, and videos that are relevant to your content. Visual elements not only make your emails more visually appealing but also help convey your message more effectively.
Clear Call-to-Action (CTA): Design attention-grabbing and prominent CTAs that stand out within your email templates. Use contrasting colors, compelling copy, and sufficient whitespace around the CTA to make it easily clickable and encourage action.
Consistency: Maintain consistency in your email templates across various campaigns. This consistency helps reinforce your brand identity and allows recipients to easily recognize and associate your emails with your brand.
By following these few keys, you can create engaging and visually captivating email templates that enhance the overall user experience and drive higher engagement and conversions. Remember, the design of your email templates should reflect your brand personality and effectively communicate your message to your audience.
Crafting Persuasive Email Content
The success of your email campaigns hinges on crafting persuasive and compelling content that resonates with your audience. To create emails that drive action and conversions, consider the following few keys for crafting persuasive email content:
Understand Your Audience: Develop a deep understanding of your target audience’s needs, pain points, and desires. Tailor your email content to address their specific challenges and offer solutions that are relevant and valuable to them.
Be Concise and Clear: Write concise and to-the-point email content that is easy to digest. Use short paragraphs, bullet points, and subheadings to improve readability and highlight key information. Keep your message clear and focused to avoid overwhelming the reader.
Utilize Storytelling Techniques: Incorporate storytelling elements in your email content to captivate your readers’ attention. Share compelling narratives, testimonials, or case studies that evoke emotions and make a connection with your audience.
Personalization: Personalize your email content by addressing recipients by their names and tailoring the message to their specific interests or previous interactions. This personal touch makes the email feel more relevant and shows that you value your subscribers as individuals.
Create a Sense of Urgency: Instill a sense of urgency in your email content by using time-limited offers, exclusive deals, or limited stock announcements. This prompts recipients to take immediate action and increases the likelihood of conversions.
Include a Strong Call-to-Action (CTA): Clearly state the desired action you want recipients to take and make it stand out. Use action-oriented language and provide a clear and clickable CTA button that leads to a relevant landing page.
Test and Optimize: Continuously test different email content variations to determine what resonates best with your audience. Analyze metrics such as open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates to optimize your email content over time.
By following these few keys, you can craft persuasive email content that captures your readers’ attention, engages them, and drives them to take the desired action. Remember, providing value, relevance, and a compelling narrative will help you create emails that stand out in crowded inboxes and inspire your audience to convert.

Optimizing Call-to-Action (CTA) Buttons
Call-to-action (CTA) buttons are crucial elements of your email campaigns that guide recipients towards taking the desired action. To optimize your CTAs and boost conversions, consider the following few keys:
Use Action-Oriented Language: Craft your CTA copy with strong, action-oriented verbs that compel readers to act. Words like “Shop Now,” “Download,” “Register,” or “Get Started” create a sense of urgency and encourage immediate engagement.
Create Contrast: Make your CTA buttons visually stand out by using contrasting colors that complement your email design. This contrast helps draw attention to the button and prompts readers to click. Test different color combinations to find the most effective one.
Keep it Concise: Ensure your CTA copy is concise and easy to understand at a glance. Use short and straightforward phrases that clearly communicate the value or benefit readers will receive by clicking. Avoid cluttered or overly lengthy CTAs that may confuse or deter action.
Strategic Placement: Position your CTA buttons prominently within your email, preferably above the fold. Make sure they are easily visible and accessible without the need for excessive scrolling. Placing the CTA at the end of paragraphs or sections can also increase engagement.
Provide Clear Direction: Make it crystal clear what will happen when readers click on your CTA. Set clear expectations about the action they’re taking and where they will be directed. This transparency builds trust and encourages click-throughs.
Optimize for Mobile: With the majority of emails being opened on mobile devices, ensure that your CTAs are optimized for smaller screens. Use a size that is easy to tap with a finger and provide enough space around the button to avoid accidental clicks.
Test and Iterate: Continuously test different variations of your CTAs to find the most effective ones. A/B test elements such as copy, color, size, and placement to determine which combinations drive higher click-through rates. Use the data to refine and optimize your CTAs over time.
By implementing these few keys, you can optimize your CTA buttons to attract attention, increase engagement, and drive conversions within your email campaigns. Remember to focus on creating a sense of urgency, providing clarity, and continually testing to improve your CTA performance.
Nurturing and Automating Campaigns
Nurturing leads through automated email campaigns is a powerful strategy for building relationships, staying engaged with your audience, and driving conversions. To effectively nurture and automate your campaigns, consider the following few keys:
Segment Your Audience: Divide your email list into segments based on factors such as demographics, interests, behavior, or purchase history. This allows you to send targeted and personalized emails that resonate with each segment’s specific needs and preferences.
Develop a Drip Campaign: Create a series of automated emails that are sent out over a predefined period, delivering valuable content and nurturing the recipient’s journey. Gradually introduce your brand, provide relevant information, and guide them towards the desired action.
Provide Value at Every Stage: Ensure that each email in your drip campaign provides value to the recipient. Offer useful tips, educational content, exclusive offers, or personalized recommendations that address their pain points and help them progress through the customer journey.
Use Behavioral Triggers: Set up automated triggers based on user actions or behaviors, such as website visits, abandoned carts, or downloads. These triggers allow you to send timely and relevant emails that are tailored to the recipient’s specific interactions with your brand.
Personalize and Customize: Make use of dynamic content and personalization tokens to tailor your automated emails to each recipient. Address them by name, include personalized recommendations, or reference their previous interactions to create a more personalized and engaging experience.
Test and Optimize: Continuously monitor and analyze the performance of your automated campaigns. Test different subject lines, email content, and CTAs to optimize engagement and conversion rates. Use data-driven insights to refine and improve your automated campaigns over time.
Monitor and Adjust: Regularly review your automated campaigns to ensure they align with your overall marketing goals and objectives. Monitor engagement metrics, click-through rates, and conversion rates to identify any areas for improvement or optimization.
By following these few keys, you can effectively nurture your leads, deliver personalized experiences, and automate your email campaigns. Nurturing campaigns build trust, foster engagement, and guide prospects along their customer journey, ultimately driving conversions and maximizing the impact of your email marketing efforts.

Good morning Chrysalis Station, It is eight thirty in the AM. I am your friendly non-coporeal announcer in your dash.
Today's updates go as follows:
The roses were supposed to be safely rehomed by the omnivorous plant recovery company today. They have told us in no uncertain terms that they will not take our roses on the count that they thought they were just hungry and not sentient. They will stay coiled around the pillars and fed worms daily.
The east giant insect stairway has collapsed under the weight of a troll's three pet squirrels who didn't read the weight limit. Insects, please use the west stairway until this issue is resolved, thank you.
The ent protestors continue to clog the platforms and state their demands: segregation of all fire lovers. Security are upping their game, reciting Edgar Allen Poe poetry. As everyone knows, ents hate poetry. Only time will tell how this will end.
That's all for today's updates! Train schedules will be updated shortly.

Giving your dog a food puzzle or a chew toy, or engaging her in an interactive game such as fetch, will direct her excess energy into something productive and distract her from jumping on your visitors.
