hi frellie <3 happy saturday! i just wanted to stop by and ask what is your favorite trope and which one best suits you and your fave?

But OH GOD NO— Haha, just kidding! If I really had think about it, my favorite trope actually is the slowburn romance.

I’ve seen so many stories, both from book writers and fanfiction writers that have the pairing fall in love… not too quickly, but quickly enough that it seems normal. Some stories are technically a slowburn, but it’s not an active part of the story because they’ve shortened it into like a month-by-month short story (if this makes any sense) to reach the end result faster of getting the couple together, which is kinda okay?

I like seeing people take their time and fall in love, both in real life and in the stories we read, especially for the first time or after a failed prior relationship. They’re figuring out how to love each other right and figure out the little things that make someone tick and whatnot.

As for your second question, there’s technically two tropes, but they go hand-in-hand together.

The age gap trope is the main one here (and it actually applies to all of my faves, but I’ll choose one for now). Satoru is actually eleven years older than I am, which I don’t mind since my own parents were twelve years apart in age.

But this is where that slowburn comes into play, because regardless of if it’s canon-verse or an au, I’d prefer to take my time rather than skipping over the pan and jumping right into the fire, particularly with an age gap. Being dorky about it all may be kinda me at first because I get super flustered at meeting new people in general, but my brain will always be a nagging reminder that I shouldn’t continue to stay in the fire.

[It’s a struggle to maintain that, but it’s something Satoru has grown to respect. His dorky, extroverted, hyperactive self actually realized that if he wanted me to stick around and move past any sort of just “being friends” then he was going to have to slow himself down and really think about forging deeper connections — trust, loyalty, boundaries, proper communication, etc — beyond just love.]

tldr; basically my favorite trope and the one that works with my fave (all of them really) is defined in the ‘Make Me (Yours)’ series w/ Sukuna LMAOOO [Sukuna being super rich is just an added bonus 🤣]

So imagine Reki one day just mentions he’s not as good as a skater in front of Joe and Langa. They keep trying to convince him he is but he just sadly smiled and says that he accepted it and it’s okay! He’s here for the fun and not the talented. OwO

But they both feel bad because Reki is so talented and they want him to see it! So after a bit of ‘arguing’ Joe gets an idea and grabs Reki’s arms and tells Langa to ‘get him’ and they basically give his cheer up tickles till he admits he’s a super talented skater! Reki doesn’t mind too much though because he finds tickling fun. 🥺

Reki really does need those tickly reminders! Our boy gets so blinded by his limits- he doesn't see the absolute talent seeping from his soul! I love Joe and Langa having this impromptu plan on making our redhaired skater boy see the truth akjejkajrjeakjr He deserves it in the best way! After that, "Get em" becomes a regular cue to cause absolute tickly mayhem on Reki whenever he starts to feel down on himself.

Lowkey makes me think Reki would somehow rope Cherry and Miya into it later- partially because of revenge and partially because like you said he finds tickling really fun! It turns into a bit of a tickle war that ends with everyone in better spirits and giggly.

After reading your reply I totally couldn’t help but come up with my own headcanon that Langa.. totally loves being tickled uwu

Like he just enjoy the feeling so much and he’s either embarrassed by it or bluntly asks Reki to tickle him- absolutely no in between hehe. Either way Reki can tell his boyfriend loves it even as he breathlessly squeals stops between frantic giggles. And I feel like the group eventually does catch on, especially people like Joe. Langa doesn’t laugh too much since he can be a bit stoic at times. Idk, I think it would be cute if they all did cheering up tickles, or if Reki did cute reward tickles.

Langa loves it every time but don’t point it out unless you want him a blushing mess, he is too cute for his own good!!!!!!!! Hehe

And the group finding out! Like you said- Joe especially notices: he walks by their room during group vacations or when they’re goofing about in the open and just notices things! He and Reki would be the ones planning little ambushes on Langa when he’s too stoic for their liking (or if they’re bored and feel like tickling him. Really they’ll get him for any and all reasons)

Langa loves it but will absolutely deny it if asked directly! He loses all confidence in asking for tickles when confronted and gets all blushy and shy and just- *tries to hide face in his arms* You can totally still see his blush on his neck and ears though 🥰🥰🥰
