I like to think he 100% wholeheartedly meant everything he did/said under the influence of the Hate Plague. IDK. I just don't think he ever got to be truly angry or was allowed to feel anger over the situation he was forced into, all the expectations put on him, so I think he didn't feel all too bad abt the shit he said but he does feel guilty about feeling that way. I also don't know if this is "obscure" or whatever bc people don't really talk about G1 Hot Rod/Rodimus, but I think the Matrix sucks the life out of you a bit. I think it is both symbiotic and parasitic. I think it kills the host a little bit.
