12 months down...
1st of February, 2019
And here we are...one year on.
I arrived back in Australia on the 8th of January so I’ve spent most of this month home. Adjusting back into my regular life wasn’t very hard and I feel like I never left! It really didn’t feel like an entire year and kinda puts time in perspective a little bit.
I am glad to be home.
I’ve been able to hang out at the beach a lot and it’s been great hanging out with my friends again. Here are some highlight pictures:

I’m so happy I threw myself into this year away, but  let’s see what life throws at me now.

11 months down...
1st of January, 2019
Last month overseas and boy has it been a busy one.
The month started in Paris with Andrew and then I saw him leave on the 5th. I officially finished uni at Neuchâtel, which I’m so happy about. started off the Christmas celebrations with a nice Neuchâtel dinner with all the people I’d met over the las semester. It was really rather cute. Went for an awesome weekend skiing in Chamonix as well for Izzy’s birthday. It was such a good time.

I also finally bit the bullet and got my first tattoo. It was an awesome experience and absolutely adore the final design. The next day we had our Aussie Christmas dinner with all the people from UTS. Another wonderful night. Christmas day was a mix of emotions. I got 4 calls from family and friends in Sydney all wishing my a lovely Christmas. Liam, Hany and I went to Alex’s place where we were joined by Caera and Cassie. We had a lovely home-made Chrissy dinner and decorated Christmas cookies!

For new year, I was off to Prague. I took a bus there overnight and arrived on the 30th of December. The gang consisted of Cassie, Hany, Liam, Ankita, Annika, Charles and Becks. We had an awesome New Year’s Eve and while there weren’t any official fireworks random people were setting them off everywhere! It was a pretty sweet trip.

So I’m in my final days of my exchange and it is a little bitter sweet. I’ve had a great year full of ups and downs (mainly ups). Can’t wait to head into 2019 with a new found confidence and independence!
It’s been fun!

10 months down...
1st of December, 2018
Autumn is slowly turning into winter. Wait...did I say slowly? I meant really fricken quickly! November saw another bit of a snow dump, but this time not as intense are the first. It’s still super cold though.
Tumblr media
I’ve been able to do some little day trips around this month. I went to a chocolate factory and was a bit disappointed that I didn’t get to see any oompa-loompas. Also went to the movies for the first time in 10 months! It was such a great feeling. I also did a great little day to Lucern with some friends which was also super nice.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The real highlight of this month though had to be when my boy came back to Switzerland! He arrived on the 20th of November to a pretty chilly climate. While he was here we got to do some awesome trips. Our first weekend together we travelled to the mountain town of Wengen, in the Bernese alps. Andrew wanted to see snow but we were about a week too early. With some Christmas money we took the train up to Jungfraujoch which was pretty great in late autumn. The weather was clear and incredible!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The next week we travelled to Montreux to visit the Christmas markets. We drunk vin chaud and sang Chrissy carols as we bought some wonderful gifts. It was truely magical with the snow capped mountains and Lac Léman in the background.
Tumblr media
The pinnacle of Andrew’s stay would have had to have been our trip to Paris. We were only there for one full day, which just happened to be the day of France’s most violent protests in a decade. It didn’t interrupt our time there though as we still got to visit all the major monuments. We even saw a show at the Moulin Rouge! To end Andrew’s stay in Europe we visited the Zurich Christmas Markets, where we did some super cool ice skating.
Tumblr media
This month has truely been great and as I write this... I only have 4 weeks and 4 days until I go home! It’s all gone so quick!
Bring on the last month!

9 months down...
1st of November, 2018
Wow.
9 months is a long long time. But here I am, still going strong.
This month saw uni start to pick up again but fortunately, I still had time for some little adventures. So at the beginning of the month I did a really epic hike is Stoos. I took the steepest funicular in the world up to this gorgeous little town. The wind was a bit concerning, so none of the cable cars were going to the top. This meant I not only had to hike down the mountains I also had to hike up! The Stoos ridge hike was around 16km in total but my god the views were incredible!

Next little trip was to Lugano in the south of Switzerland for a night with Liam and Gilles. I was speechless when first seeing this place. The weather was perfect which was nice because of the cold weather that was looming in a week. We got the funicular up the top of Mount San Salvador and then hiked our way down. I only stayed there one night but i wished I could have stayed there longer!

The weather changed last weekend from gorgeous to grey. We had our first epic snow dump for the season (only up in the mountains) and I was lucky enough to go up to Chaumont with Liam the other day and explore the early winter wonderland. We walked down to the train station and passed some real magical parts of the woods.

Been making new friendships and going to the pub night every Wednesday. And we’ve also been going to trivia on Tuesdays! We’re not the best but we are sure trying! Last weekend we had a pancake night at Anne-Sophie’s place. It was really really great and I love having a good group of people to hang with.
Only 2 months now and everything seems to be speeding up! Got some cool things planned for November but also gonna be busy with exams and my big project.
Exciting things to come!

UK part 3
Coming towards the end now and after a night in Glasgow we were back down in England. First little stop, Hadrian’s Wall. Of course it was bucketing down with rain but I still managed to get a photo standing on the ancient Roman wall. I love that it is still there partially and honestly I thought it was on the border of England and Scotland, but boy was I wrong. Our next 2 nights were to be spent in a small village called Tollerton. We stayed in another place that felt like I’d escaped to the country!
Tumblr media
We only had one full day in York but made the most of it by visiting York Minster, walking through the Shambles and visiting the market and also going to visit an old Cold War bunker. I was a little skeptical about this at first, but it was one of the best tours I’ve ever done! The guide was really informative and it was very interesting to learn about the plan England had in place if it ever got attacked by a nuclear bomb.
Tumblr media
So back in the car, this time we were heading to Bristol for 3 nights. From here we travelled to Bath and explored the Roman baths, which was incredibly interesting! I love Rome history and to see something so intact was a dream come true. We unfortunately didn't get too much time here mainly due to the 3 hour parking ticket we’d bought. Next day we travelled over to Cardiff and met up with some friends of Narelle and Dave. We spent most of the day at St Fagan’s Welsh Museum, where they had brought historical buildings from around the country and kept them in the one place. We eventually made it into Cardiff the city and I was so excited because they’ve filmed multiple Doctor Who and Torchwood episodes in the exact spot that we went to.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On our way to our next destination, we visited Stonehenge! It was pretty cool there, despite all the tourists. As a spur of the moment decision, we decided to go down to Brighton for our last night. This place was so incredible. I thought Whitby was a perfect example of seaside towns, but Brighton was the epitome of this image. Brighton Pier had all the traditional rides and arcade games and luckily for us the weather had seriously cleared up.

The 3 weeks in the UK were pretty great. I loved being able to really explore England, cause now I feel like I’ve seen a really good chunk of it.
