Prosecutor Ledger De Maine!!!
Here are some sprite concepts for her :))
Front facing sprite!
Tumblr media
Sad sprite :(
She'd run her fingers against the blade in this animation
Tumblr media
Her reading the document! It'd come up in a little message in a bottle, and she'd uncork it and throw the cork offscreen.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Objection and damage poses!
Tumblr media
And this is when she starts yelling in very very heavy pirate speak ahh!
"Stop yer mindless blubbering, ya scummy, lousy parrot! This ship doesn't need nonsense, it needs answers!"

ok but like, the post you reblogged with the pics of ledger putting the makeup on,, imagine you and J getting ready for the day and sharing the bathroom together while he's putting his makeup on. idk just sounds cute and domestic uwu 💖
Omg nonnie, I was literally thinking these thoughts the moment I saw those pics! I knew I had to write them down, so here ya go! 💖

Getting Ready With J (Headcanons)
*Inspired by this post
‣ Pairing: Ledger!Joker/Jack Napier x GN!Reader
‣ Genre: fluff, domestic bliss w/cute deadly clown man
‣ Warnings: None!
‣ Notes: Besides the rare occasion of J spreading some daytime chaos across the city of Gotham, most of his work would be done at night. Because of that, I don't think he would always feel the need to put on his makeup early in the day if he's just gonna be at home—especially after he's reached a point of being able to drop his mask around you (literally & figuratively). That said, I can see this situation playing out in 2 different ways...
L!Joker/Jack Napier Masterlist
Main Masterlist
◇──◆──◇──◆──◇──◆──◇──◆──◇──◆──◇──◆──◇──◆
« Scenario 1: » ♡ He and you get ready together in the morning/afternoon.
‣ Maybe you have work or some errands to run, or you're simply getting ready to spend the day lounging comfortably at home.
‣ As for J, he has some important "business" to attend to.
‣ The two of you start by brushing your teeth together, J trying to make you laugh the whole time just to watch you struggle not to spit toothpaste everywhere. He gets a good kick out of this, a shit eating grin on his face as he continues to brush his teeth.
‣ You both share the counter space, your self-care items scattered around as you carry on with your routines. There are very little words spoken during this time, but you still communicate through your own secret language; sometimes being able to read each other's minds just by sharing a simple glance.
‣ You both know each other's routine so well that you hand each other the items you need next before either of you ask for it.
‣ On days where J is particularly clingy, he's glued to your side, having such a strong need to be touching you at all times—even if this means just barely touching arms while you get ready in the mirror.
‣ If your daily routine includes brushing your hair, he totally enjoys doing this for you. So much so that he's now in the habit of grabbing your brush and gently running it through your hair while you do something else. He often takes a little longer than necessary, but that's only because he loves to feel the beautiful texture of your hair.
‣ You sneakily give each other occasional kisses on the cheek or anywhere your lips can reach as you continue getting ready. You always love to see the small blush that creeps over J's bare face in the mirror after you've given him a smooch and maybe a gentle caress on his back that just happened to drift a bit lower 😉
‣ Sometimes you play music together while you get ready. A playlist of songs both you and him like. He loves it when you sing or dance to your favorite songs, or even to some of his favorite songs that have started to grow on you too. If you're quick about it, you might be able to catch him looking at you fondly through the mirror just before he looks away and pretends to be focused on something else. Depending on his mood that day, you might get to hear him hum along to some songs as well.
‣ If you wear makeup, you also do this part together. If not, you sit on the counter or hug him from behind while he does his own (he much prefers the latter).
‣ If you ask, he'll definitely let you do his makeup for him. He loves to just sit back, relax, and soak up your touch during this time. He particularly enjoys the part where you draw the smile over his lips and scars with red lipstick and the concentrated look on your face while you do it.
‣ Beware to makeup wearers, Jack will steal your red lipstick if he's suddenly run out or lost his! And he's definitely not gentle with his application. But it's alright, he'll steal buy you a new one!
‣ If you choose to sit back and watch, you'll witness him create his personal masterpiece with nothing but some lipstick, greasepaint, and his fingers. He only uses one brush and that is to dab on a little bit of setting powder at the end (a trick he learned, thanks to you), though if he's in a rush, he'll sometimes skip this part. After doing it for so long, it takes him less than 5 minutes. But he'll often go slower just so he can spend some extra time with his love.
‣ When he's all done, he chases you out of the bathroom, threatening to cover your face with sloppy red kisses. In the end, he settles for a small peck on the lips before the two of you part ways for the day.
« Scenario 2: » ♡ Darkness has settled over Gotham city, which means it's time for J to clock in.
‣ You're already settling down for the evening when J gets up and makes his way to the bathroom. You're right on his tail, following in his footsteps. He smirks when he realizes and playfully comes to a halt, just to get you to bump into him. When you whine/pout over this, he coos teasingly at you and gives you a kiss on the forehead before taking your hand and leading you the rest of the way there.
‣ You perch yourself on the counter or the toilet while he sits in a chair in front of the mirror. You watch him work, admiring the focused look in his eyes and the way he contorts his face to apply the paint to his skin.
‣ He occasionally glances over at you and scoffs at the heart-eyes you're giving him.
‣ Don't you dare give him a flirty compliment unless you want to see him roll his eyes and brush it off all while trying to hide his flustered smile (do it, do it, do it).
‣ The two of you talk about whatever is on your minds and J finds himself lingering on the black around his eyes for far longer than usual just to keep listening to your sweet voice.
‣ Once again, if you ask, he'll let you finish his makeup for him. This time he'll have you sit in his lap while you do it, giving your thighs a light squeeze and running his thumbs over your soft skin.
‣ Upon finishing, you press a little kiss to the tip of his nose and fix his hair a bit. He watches you with a soft smile tugging at the corners of his lips, reaching up to cup your face in his hands. You stop what you're doing as he pulls you in for a kiss that speaks on behalf of words left unspoken.
♡ J loves you. And he cherishes these little moments with you more than you know.

i DONT like Harry.
now, if you’re a de fan and you love him, please don’t take it as a personal offense, i have nothing against you and i don’t think you’re a bad person just because you happen to like a fictional character i don’t. this post is going to be my (negative) take on a character that you may or may not agree with.
back to the point. i have to endure playing as Harry (and sometimes, i have to admit, it’s hilarious), but if i met him irl i would hate his guts.
first, he’s an alcoholic. at least. and i think even if you don’t take any drugs in-game he still took them before Martinaise. it’s a big red flag for me. from my own life and experience i’ve seen what the addiction can do to a person, and a family. it’s not nice. and, coming back to Harry, it honestly kinda causes all the other stuff i don’t like him for.
he’s suicidal, but why is he suicidal? because his wife left him. why did she leave him? because he’s a drunk. duh. but i say, good for her. i hope she’s happy.
there may, of course, also be a reason that he’s an alcoholic and suicidal just because “the world around us is so bad”, but somehow it’s even worse, because it gets all the responsibility over his actions off him.
his drunk driving, him losing his badge and gun (and uniform), him throwing the ledger in the trash, even him losing all memory – i just couldn’t care less for it. Harry caused his own suffering so it’s no wonder he got it all fucked up.
i hope it was the creators’ intention to make him so unappealing to the player because the man does not raise any empathy in me, no matter how he’s played.
EDIT: okay so apparently people didn’t like that i put a main tag on this post. my bad.
also, please PLEASE don’t judge me for the words i didn’t say. i never said he was “beyond help”. all i said was that i don’t like him personally because of my bad experience with alcoholism. to all people who struggle with substance abuse and are recovering – i wish you all the strength you need to become a better version of yourselves. you CAN change and are not irredeemable. it is difficult, and it takes time, but i’m sure you’re able to do that. i’m sorry if any of my commentary affected you negatively.

"The Lover's Quarrel" ~ S. Harrington
Tumblr media
Summary: Steve gets beat up, Reader has to clean him up, and then they tell each other "I love you" for the first time.
Pairing: Steve Harrington x GN!Reader (only one use of Y/N)
Word Count: 535
Content Warning: explicit language, Billy makes derogatory sexual comments about Reader, mentions of blood, Steve do be injured, mild mention of food, lmk if I missed anything!
Genre: Angst to Fluff? idk whatever "taking care of each other" falls into 🤣
Extra Notes: yeah crappy summary as per usual, i know 🤩
Based On the Prompt: "I've Got Red In My Ledger" - broken nose (from 2021 Whumptober Prompts)

"You gotta stop doing this," I commented, placing the ice pack over Steve's now blackened eye.
"He was asking for it," he mumbled, wincing at the coldness.
I turned back to face him, dabbing at the blood sliding down his lip. "What did he do this time?" I asked, already knowing Steve's answer.
His non-black eye narrowed sarcastically. "It's Billy Hargrove. Do you really have to ask that?"
"OK, I understand the guy's an asshole, but at least tell me you had a reason for him to break your nose this time."
He gasped, his eyes filling with sadness. "Did he really break it?"
"Yes, Steve. That's what happens when you keep getting into fights," I scolded as I placed a Band-Aid on his cheek.
The room stayed silent, save for the winces Steve would let out whenever I'd touch a sensitive spot on his face. The air was cold, causing him to shiver as he leaned back against the cabinets, his long legs dangling over the kitchen counter where he sat.
I was the first to speak again. "So what really happened?" I asked, more sincerely and less sarcastically than earlier.
"He, uh…" Steve hesitated, his eyes screwing shut as I placed another bandage on his cheek.
I swallowed, knowing by the expression on his face that I wasn't going to like his answer.
"He was talking shit about you."
My eyebrows raised in slight disbelief. "He what?"
"He was saying all sorts of shit about you and saying you were easy just because you're with me… so I punched him."
I kissed his forehead, practically the only spot on his face that was left undamaged. "Well, thank you. But I promise, I'm no reason to break your pretty nose and bust those luscious lips."
He let out a light huff, cracked a small smile, and took my hands in his. "I promise you, you are the only person I'd be willing to get a broken nose for. Well, OK, maybe Dustin if it was for a good enough cause."
I laughed quietly, running my hand through his hair. "Well, I don't know about Dustin, but I appreciate your kind gesture."
"Always. Anything for the person I love most."
I was taken aback by his use of the word love. Neither of us had ever really used it, outside of one bantering use in the sentence, "I love you so damn much," when I brought Steve ice cream at work once.
"You really love me most? Out of everyone in your life?" I inquired, my stomach doing a loop-de-loop as I processed his words once more.
"Of course I do. You're beautiful, kind, you put up with shit like this at 2 a.m. on a weeknight," he chuckled, "and most importantly, I love you most because I know you love me most."
My lips turned upward as I leaned into him, basking in the feeling of his hands resting on my back. "Well, you are right about that. I do love you most. More than anyone has ever loved someone before."
"Well, that's where you're wrong, Y/N Y/L/N," he chuckled, "because I love you more than anyone else has ever loved someone before."
Tumblr media
Um... so obviously this isn't what everyone was expecting...
I know, I missed some Whumptober posts, but I have a plan to make up for it!!
As most everyone knows, next month is nanowrimo! That being said, i was going to take a short break posting on here to work on my novel during nano. But, my plan now is to (as far as fanfics go) only allow myself to work on the Whumptober fics i missed, and everything else I write will be for my novel.
So, you guys will be getting all the Whumptober fics I missed, just not during October.
I do apologize for not writing those yet. I wish I had an excuse but tbh, I don't really know why I stopped writing them.
Anyway, I hope everyone enjoyed my next Whumptober installment!! 🫶🏻

ROUND 1 POLL 1
7. Suspicious Stew (He/Him, Xe/Xem) @hilaomart
Stew is the reincarnation of a thief and swindler who died from poison. This untimely death leads him to an early interest in various poisons and their effects on the body. Fearing his own untimely death, xe begins to drink his experiments in small doses to give himself an immunity to the substances. His lack of basic lab safety led to an incident in which he lost his right eye, leaving a large chemical burn over the right side of his face. Other than this, for a while, he was relatively normal. After an incident with another mad scientist in which he was the unwilling subject, Stew began to lose himself in his work to cope. Xe branched out into the broader fields of biochemistry and potion magic, experimenting on himself to avoid putting anything else in the position he was once in. Xe got a job in a more normal lab to pay the bills, occasionally stealing equipment and materials from his job for his own home lab. He began to sell potions and poisons on the black market to fund his work.
Xeir hubris began to catch up to xem. One incident in his lab with a dangerous substance led to permanent damage to his body as well as the loss of his right arm. The various mutations he gave himself were slowly making him less and less human as his morals slipped away. He experimented with the art of creation, bringing abominations of flesh to life. Xe began to rob graves and steal corpses to experiment on. He was becoming what he feared the most, though xe didn’t have enough humanity left to care.
Stew is a strange little guy. He’s quite unnerving and dare I say, suspicious. He’s protective of those he cares for to a dangerous degree. Xes awkward, finding trouble in social interaction due to years of self isolation. He’s doomed by the narrative and only half aware of it. Besides his scientific endeavors, xe enjoys practical jokes, skateboarding, and the company of whatever family he has left.
Also he does like cupcakes <3

14. Edgar Gahds (He/Him) @kursed-curtain
Edgar Gahds is a 19 year old forensics scientist (and absolute sweetheart, but don't tell him I said that)
CW: Blood n death n organs, etc in his description. He is a mad scientist after all!
- He's a huge fan of gothic horror novels like Frankenstein and The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde and he essentially bases his entire career on them!
- He has a fascination with how humans work. That's why he took up forensics! It means you can look at corpses without getting in trouble!
- He's so excited about blood and organs! He has models he plays with during court cases sometimes. He doesn't think of it as playing though. It's expressing himself!
- Edgar's experiments mostly consist of murder victims because wow there are a lot in this universe. A lot.
- He loves animals and dislikes animal testing :(( he's not against human testing tho lmao go ham
- He loves horror movies and the makeup and special effects that go into them!
(He's my Ace Attorney OC but I didn't wanna deter any potential voters!! ;) he's simply a silly guy!)
(Also Edgar loves a good red velvet cupcake haha)

Crypto Quantum Leap: A Unique Online Course.
Good day! We are pleased to share with you the results of our in-depth analysis of Crypto Quantum Leap, a popular online course for cryptocurrency traders. In order to give you all the information you require to determine whether this course is the right investment for you, we have done a great deal of research on it.
A type of virtual currency that may be used to pay for goods and services is called cryptocurrency. To ensure secure transactions, cryptocurrencies rely on a very complex online ledger. Many people all over the world are investing in these unregulated currencies in an effort to profit from them. At the moment, Bitcoin is the most well-known cryptocurrency available. It was started in 2009 by a person going by the name of Satoshi Nakamoto, whose identity is still unknown.
You're kindly advised not to put all of your money into one cryptocurrency, merely as a nice tip. Furthermore, it's recommended to steer clear of investments at the height of the cryptocurrency bubble. When cryptocurrency was at its highest during the market boom, we saw that its price had abruptly dropped. It's critical to remember that the bitcoin market may be incredibly unexpected. As a result, it's a good idea to only invest money that you're okay with losing. It's important to note that because cryptocurrencies are decentralized, they operate free from any centralized authority.
Steve Wozniak, one of the co-founders of Apple, believes that Bitcoin would someday outperform conventional currencies like the USD, EUR, INR, and ASD as a desirable asset. In his opinion, Bitcoin might soon replace all other currencies as the de facto standard.
What is Crypto Quantum Leap?
An online course called Crypto Quantum Leap attempts to inform people about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. It covers every important detail a person should be aware of regarding these digital currencies. Marco Wutzer has produced a course that can be beneficial to everyone, regardless of whether students are beginners or have some background in the field. Why? Everything that is unstable has something fresh to teach us every day. Sure, let's look at the data in greater detail.
What makes Crypto Quantum Leap stand out?
The outstanding caliber of the course materials at Crypto Quantum Leap makes it stand out. The course materials are laid out straightforwardly and logically, making it easy for anyone unfamiliar with the subject to acquire and understand it. We take care to keep the course current with the most recent changes in the Bitcoin market so that you always have access to the most latest information.
The thing that sets Crypto Quantum Leap apart from other programs is the excellent student support it offers. Our team of professionals is committed to helping you throughout the program. You can always get in touch with them if you have any questions or concerns, and they will be pleased to offer you advice and support. Our staff consists of experienced traders that are passionate about helping others succeed in the market.
What information is available about Crypto Quantum Leap?
To our surprise, the member's area of Crypto Quantum Leap offers all the information you could possibly require. This is an excellent chance for people to learn more about a range of subjects, such as:
There are two main cryptocurrency exchanges to take into account when choosing which to use.
The finest exchange to use only for Bitcoin orders.
Detailed instructions for registering for an exchange account
How much does Crypto Quantum Leap Cost
This online course's one-time fee has been reduced from approximately USD $497.00 to USD $297.00. People can get started by visiting this webpage. You must cancel your enrollment in Crypto Quantum Leap within 14 days after the purchase date. A return will not be accepted in any other case.
Is Crypto Quantum Leap worth it?
We have investigated Crypto Quantum Leap and came to the conclusion that it is a worthwhile investment for those who are dedicated to trading cryptocurrency. The course materials are excellent, and students receive exceptional support. Strategies that have been tried and true in the corporate world are covered in the course..It's wonderful that the training is regularly updated to reflect the most recent developments in the cryptocurrency industry. We are very grateful for that. This indicates that you'll always have the most recent knowledge and strategies at your disposal to keep you one step ahead of the competition. As far as we can tell, Crypto Quantum Leap is a cryptocurrency-related course that primarily focuses on profiting from Bitcoin despite its high price. Along the way, Marco pledges to share knowledge on anything from the fundamentals—like how to start investing—to the underlying technologies. People might look forward to learning more about the effects of cryptocurrencies and the technology that powers them on society and how it works, both now and in the future. It's important to understand that Crypto Quantum Leap doesn't appear to be an advising service where an editor issues a set of recommendations once a month. This course aims to give you some practical investing experience while also assisting you in understanding the field. Without a doubt, investing in cryptocurrencies is riskier than investing in other types of assets. Therefore, people should evaluate their financial status before beginning.

'It’s a sign you’ve made it in Hollywood when the roles you’ve been offered are just as prestigious as the roles you’ve accepted. Matt Damon – one of his era’s most bankable stars – is a stellar example. The Golden Globe-winning actor infamously turned down Jake Skully in James Cameron's Avatar, losing him an estimated $250 million paycheck in the process (“It’s the dumbest thing an actor ever did in the history of acting,” he later joked), but this is only one time when Damon’s career almost took a sharp 90-degree turn. When factoring in such possibilities as Brokeback Mountain, Training Day, and Star Trek (to name but a small selection) it’s not inconceivable to suggest that Damon could have built an entirely divergent filmography for himself and still obtained his A-list status. Quite an accomplishment indeed.
But of all the incredible movies that Damon just missed out on, there’s one that provokes the most interest in a What If...? style excursion into the realm of speculation – none other than a leading role in the undisputed king of superhero films, The Dark Knight. When Christopher Nolan was casting for his most influential (and perhaps greatest) directorial work, Damon was one of many actors he considered for the part of Harvey Dent, Gotham City’s righteous district attorney who gradually transforms into the revenge-fueled tyrant Two-Face. Unlike the other names in contention, Damon was offered the job, although scheduling conflicts prevented him from saying yes. The Dark Knight would later prove to be one of the decade's most acclaimed films, and it’s hard to imagine that Damon’s regret at not being involved factored into his appearances in future Nolan films. Key roles in Interstellar and Oppenheimer have since confirmed Damon as a paid-up member of the Nolan entourage, and with the actor overflowing with praise for the renowned director, one suspects that he wishes he'd signed up sooner.
Harvey Dent Is 'The Dark Knight’s Most Important Character
It’s easy to forget how important Harvey Dent is to The Dark Knight. Of course, anyone who has to compete for screentime with Heath Ledger’s stunning tour de force performance as the Joker – arguably the greatest feat of acting in the history of superhero movies – will struggle to obtain the spotlight, but Dent plays such an integral role in the story there’s a case for him being the film’s secret main character. At its core, The Dark Knight is about a struggle between Batman (Christian Bale) and the Joker for the fate of Harvey Dent, with each having placed an idealistic goal on the district attorney that represents their preferred vision for Gotham. When we first encounter Dent during the trial for one of mob boss Sal Maroni’s (Eric Roberts) associates, he embodies everything that Batman wishes he could be: a glowing beacon of justice who operates entirely within the law. He’s the legitimate hero Gotham deserves, and it’s no surprise that Batman comes to view him not just as an ally, but also as a potential successor. Harvey Dent is a savior who seems too good to be true, and as comic fans will already know, that’s more accurate than any of his passionate supporters would like to admit.
Given how important Harvey Dent is to The Dark Knight (practically every theme the film explores is intricately linked to his character’s moral collapse), choosing an actor to play him was never going to be easy. Not only would they have to modernize the classic all-American hero archetype for the digital age, but they would also have to imbue their performance with undercurrents of suppressed anger that would gradually envelop him as the film progressed. The combination of Robert F. Kennedy charisma with Norman Bates the-evil-next-door subterfuge would be difficult for any actor to believably portray (especially when you’re missing half of your face) but thankfully Nolan had just the person in mind.
Scheduling Conflicts Prevented Matt Damon From Accepting the Role
Conceptually, Matt Damon was the ideal choice for Harvey Dent. His screen persona as a handsome tough guy with enough charm to inflate a helium balloon was practically designed for an aspiring politician who could convince anyone to vote for him with only a smile and a well-placed slogan, and it would also make for some friendly rivalry between him and Christian Bale as they competed to be Gotham’s most desirable bachelor. However, Damon has also proven himself to be one of Hollywood’s most idiosyncratic and at times underrated stars – frequently taking roles deflecting the criticisms aimed at many A-list stars that they’re essentially just playing themselves. Even Jason Bourne, Damon’s most recognizable role, lacks the allure of similar spy icons like James Bond and Ethan Hunt, but deliberately so. He’s a nebulous character whose as much a mystery to himself as he is to everyone else, but also someone who’s not afraid to get his hands dirty if the situation calls for it… much like another role that was coming Damon’s way.
Sadly, it wasn’t meant to be. The age-old problem of scheduling conflicts prevented his involvement in The Dark Knight, with Damon having already committed to headlining another project. Given that the opportunity to lead a major Hollywood production is one that most actors never come within reach of, and Dent was – to quote Damon – a “relatively small” part in a film that no one suspected would become a cultural behemoth, it’s forgivable that he would turn it down in favor of the role he perceived as more significant. That said, it’s curious that he would refer to Dent using those terms. Batman and the Joker may have far and away the most screentime in The Dark Knight, but Dent is unequivocally the backbone of the entire narrative (even the title refers more to Dent than it does to Batman) – but his decision was final, prompting Nolan to cast Aaron Eckhart instead. Damon has insisted that he has no regrets over what happened, stating in an interview with MTV that Eckhart is “a great actor” who benefitted the film immensely. That may be true, but it’s hard to think that part of him didn’t feel a bang of remorse when The Dark Knight’s box office numbers came rushing in.
Matt Damon Worked With Christopher Nolan in 'Interstellar' & 'Oppenheimer'
The release of The Dark Knight in July 2008 was nothing short of a revolution. Overnight, expectations of what a superhero film could be were shattered by one of the most impeccably crafted films in years, proving that even a story about a billionaire who dresses as a bat could describe itself as prestige cinema. The film cemented its winning streak months later when it became the first superhero movie to earn major recognition during the end-of-year awards season, and it wouldn’t take long for the slew of dark, gritty imitators to follow in its wake (for better or for worse). Today it is regarded as one of the most influential films ever made, and while the central reason for its longevity is often placed squarely at the feet of Ledger’s Joker, the truth is far more complex. The Dark Knight has an ensemble cast for a reason, but it’s Harvey Dent who stands as its greatest asset. His downfall from honorable prospector to deranged killer is the glue that holds the entirety of The Dark Knight together, and Eckhart deserves immense praise for his contributions in turning this once silly character into one of the most thematically compelling villains in the Batman mythos.
But how different things could have been! We’ll never know how Damon would have performed in the role, and getting lost in the labyrinth of guesswork is a path to madness, but we can infer that – despite his earlier comments to the contrary – part of him regretted turning it down. No doubt this factored into his enthusiasm at accepting an even smaller role in Nolan’s sci-fi epic Interstellar – a part so minute it was left out of the marketing campaign to avoid misleading audiences about his screentime (although, as with Harvey Dent, it’s an important role in the overarching plot). “I wanted to be part of that troupe,” as he confirmed years later, adding that “[Nolan] works with the same actors over and over again [and] I wanted to be on that ride.” Well, thanks to a pivotal role as General Leslie Groves in Oppenheimer, he has finally achieved his wish, with recent interviews indicating that he eagerly awaits their next collaboration. Better late than never, but with The Dark Knight still popularly considered Nolan’s best film, it’s safe to say that he’s still a little upset at having waited so long.'

Unless specified otherwise, the “Moriarty” on this blog is an unknown figure named M. No gender, no face, just M.
He is usually only referred to by Alex as the “boss”. She has met him though will never confirm this. He is a LOT more sinister than he lets on, and trades in blackmail largely. Alex has met him in person on four occasions between 2014-2018 when she believes he may be dead but has no real confirmation.
Don’t fuck with him.
Main inspirations for context are De Silva (From Skyfall), the Joker (Heath Ledger), Blofeld (Spectre/No Time To Die), Hannibal Lecter (Silence of the Lambs), John Doe (Seven).

Wondrous Tails of FFXIV
Shenanigans / Games
“May I get your name, sir?”
The comely red-haired man nodded, all smiles. “Aivnar Vesla. You may find my name under Monseigneur Cauvier’s uhmm ‘plus one’. If not, then do notify Sir Cauvier of my presence as I am certain he will vouch for me.” His voice was deep and gravelly, suave even, and there was something in the way the man carried himself, above the common man yet approachable, a sort of warmth that was offsetted by the rigid demeanor. His attire was impeccable, his long coat a marriage of quality leather and expensive fur, paired with just the right amount of silver inlays and gemstones. An undershirt of the finest silk complemented a vest of thick brocade. The man had an allure of both wealth and practicality.
The two attendants at the door hesitated, visibly unable to find the name on the ledger. If this man truly was Sir Cauvier’s plus one… Did they /really/ wanted to incur the explosive temperament of such a man for a simple administrative faux-pas? With nervous smiles, the attendants offered Sir Vesla a bow, a hand extended towards the entrance of the estate. “It’s quite alright, Sir Vesla. Please, make your way inside. The game will be held on the first floor, in the great hall. Ah! I do hope Sir Cauvier advised you to bring only pieces of gold? In tonight’s game, the table’s stakes are quite high.”
The redhead man gave them a disarming smile. “Of course.” And with that simple answer, the man stepped inside the gates, walking confidently through the small garden and towards the main entrance, where another attendant was ready to show him the way to the great hall. Aivnar had seen many upscale residences and manors in his long life and this one wasn’t anything special; beautiful, certainly, but a bit austere. Much like the rest of Ishgard, he reminded himself. He’d done his research and expected quite a lot of people here and thus was pleased when he entered the great hall to find it bustling with activity. A very minor noble house had decided to host an evening of gambling and many would find something to their liking, from chess to mah jong and card games. Eyes darting through the room, Aivnar had no trouble spotting his target. Bold, boisterous and already slightly inebriated - Sir Ilsent de Menault. Nothing like his father, if rumors were true, this first son of the Menault household lived on his father’s money, and gambling. His total disrespect towards the working class is what had first caught Aivnar’s attention and it had required very little digging to find that words on the streets were all but true. Assault, blackmail and abuse of one’s power… Aivnar’s favorite targets.
Filling his pockets with a few gold pieces ‘borrowed’ here and there, he snaked his way through the hall, closing in on his prey. Amber eyes sharp, smile impeccable…
“Ah! Monsieur de Menault. I am a friend of Sir Cauvier who, admittedly, spoke highly of your skills with the cards and I simply had to seek you out. Aivnar Vesla, merchant, traveler and entrepreneur.” A formal bow, no gesture out of place.
The perceived respect towards his person made Menault laugh out loud, a wide grin spreading over his face. He wasn’t an ugly man but there was something wicked about him that made one’s skin crawl. His long hair was kept into a ponytail and he sported a five o-clock shadow, something quite unbecoming for the son of a noble house. Aivnar swore he smelled the alcohol on the man’s breath, even while standing at a respectable distance. Getting invited to his table had been that easy and Aivnar made sure to never turn down any drink offered; he could hold his liquor remarkably well. Let this buffoon think he had the upper hand and that his own senses were being dulled with the alcohol.
The first games had been to test the waters and instill a sense of confidence in Menault. Take some, leave some. Gradually, the cards had begun to favor Aivnar, or maybe he was simply that good of a player. The gils he’d lost earlier, he slowly won back as the drinks kept coming. He could feel the familiar heat in his cheeks but he still retained his wits about him. Something that certainly couldn’t be said about his opponent. Menault was getting distracted and more violent, desperate even. It was time to end this. Despite the many pairs of eyes set on the both of them, Aivnar manipulated the cards in his favor while his figure retained that perfect poker face. Until his opponent was left with merely more than the clothes on his back and a dozen of empty glasses. Aivnar extended a hand in a friendly gesture but Menault send him off with a very ungentlemanly “Fuck off!” and a glass thrown his way.
Aivnar remained in the hall, doing the small talks and smiling pleasantly, until the buzz around his prior victory died down, allowing him to slip out of the estate by the servants’ door. It’s only when he was quite far from the estate that he passed a hand in his hair, the fiery red turning to ash gray. Two massive strands of hair rose and took on the shape of fluffy ears. Similarly, his eyes lost their amber glow and turned to a blueish gray as the stubble on his face seemed to grow in an instant. A flick of his fingers and his attire changed to something far simpler and casual, completely dispelling the glamour he’d set on himself. Fishing out a small tin box, the viera grabbed a cigarette that he swiftly lit, exhaling the smoke with a sigh. The bag of gils at his belt was now quite heavy and he had a few places to visit to distribute that wealth, of course keeping some for himself; His work came with a part of danger after all. Out of an alley, a rat came running only to climb on his leg and all the way to his shoulder.
“Hey buddy. Sorry it took so long but I had to drink that guy under the table AND cheat my way to victory. Wadda say to some friggin’ tasty morsel before we make the round? Ya? I knew ya’d be happy with that plan.”
With a chuckle, Fakhri’s disappeared in the shadows of some back alley, leaving only the lingering scent of tobacco in the cold, crisp air of Ishgard.

Privacy on Public Blockchains: Navigating Challenges and Crafting Solutions
In the world of public blockchains like Ethereum and Bitcoin, the tension between transparency and privacy persists as a central challenge. While public blockchains offer unparalleled transparency, the open nature of the ledger can compromise user privacy. This article delves into the intricate landscape of privacy on public blockchains, examining the challenges faced and exploring innovative solutions that seek to strike a balance between transparency and confidentiality.
The Transparency-Privacy Dilemma
Public blockchains are built on the principle of transparency. Every transaction, whether financial or contractual, is recorded on an immutable ledger visible to all participants. While this characteristic fosters trust and accountability, it also presents privacy concerns. Transaction details, wallet addresses, and transaction amounts are visible, potentially enabling malicious actors to analyze and trace users' activities. This tension between maintaining the blockchain's integrity and safeguarding user privacy has ignited a fervent search for solutions.
Tumblr media
Challenges in Maintaining Privacy
Pseudonymous Nature: The use of pseudonymous addresses may not provide true privacy, as transactions can still be linked to specific entities through data analysis and sophisticated techniques.
Blockchain Analysis: The rise of blockchain analysis firms has enabled the de-anonymization of transactions, potentially compromising user privacy.
Regulatory Compliance: Public blockchains must grapple with regulatory requirements that mandate transparency for anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) purposes.
Solutions on the Horizon
The pursuit of privacy on public blockchains has spurred the development of various solutions:
1. Confidential Transactions: Inspired by Monero, Bitcoin's "Confidential Transactions" proposal aims to obfuscate transaction amounts. This can be achieved through cryptographic techniques that hide the exact values while still allowing for transaction validation.
2. Schnorr Signatures: The integration of Schnorr signatures in Bitcoin improves privacy by allowing multiple parties to collaboratively sign transactions without revealing individual keys.
3. Zero-Knowledge Proofs: Zero-knowledge proofs, like zk-SNARKs, enable validation of information without exposing the data itself. These proofs can be used to conceal transaction details while ensuring transaction validity.
4. Layer-2 Solutions: Solutions like the Lightning Network for Bitcoin and various Layer-2 scaling solutions for Ethereum enable off-chain transactions, reducing the amount of data stored on the main blockchain. This indirectly enhances privacy by minimizing on-chain exposure.
5. Mimblewimble Protocol: Mimblewimble, introduced in projects like Grin and Beam, presents a novel approach to privacy by combining transactions into a single aggregate, reducing the transaction history's visibility.
6. Decentralized Identity: Integrating decentralized identity solutions allows users to control their personal information and selectively disclose it as needed, maintaining privacy while complying with regulatory demands.
7. Token Standards: Ethereum's ERC-20 token standard and similar standards on other platforms enable the creation of privacy-focused tokens that employ zero-knowledge proofs or other privacy-enhancing mechanisms.
Conclusion
Privacy on public blockchains remains a complex and evolving challenge. While the transparent nature of these blockchains is a fundamental feature, it's also a source of vulnerability. The ongoing exploration of solutions, from sophisticated cryptographic techniques to layer-2 scaling, underscores the industry's commitment to addressing this dilemma. As the landscape of blockchain technology advances, striking the right balance between transparency, security, and user privacy will be a pivotal step toward creating a more inclusive, private, and secure digital future.
