4. how did your elementary school teachers describe you? We call elementary school primary school. It depended which teachers you asked, my favourites always said I was “conscientious, kind, and a pleasure to have in class”.

5. do you prefer to drink soda from soda cans, soda bottles, plastic cups or glass cups? Glass cups or bottles.

6. pastel, boho, tomboy, preppy, goth, grunge, formal or sportswear? I have like 4 looks, pastel, boho, and goth/witchy/grunge, also vintage-inspired which wasn’t mentioned but I love it.

7. earbuds or headphones? Depends on the shape, I love my Razr headset because it doesn’t squash my ears, and I like galaxy bud shaped earbuds, the ones with the little rubber doo-dads that fit actually in your ear. Apple or a lot of older flat earbuds cause me a lot of pain.

8. movies or tv shows? TV shows. Movies are getting longer and longer and my focus is getting shorter and shorter

9. favorite smell in the summer? Rainy days!

10. game you were best at in p.e.? The game of queue-ducking (where you go to the back of the queue to avoid your turn), or dance, or the less strength intensive parts of gymnastics. Or crying, always been great at that xD

11. what you have for breakfast on an average day? Muesli, or nothing.

12. name of your favorite playlist? I prefer to listen to full albums rather than playlists, but I have a few favourites on Spotify. Born to Run 150BPM, Infinite Indie Folk, Irish Folk: Jigs and Reels, All Out 80s/90s/00s. I also love scene/pop-punk playlists.

14. favorite non-chocolate candy? Message Hearts (or anything with that texture), the red pack of starbursts (the UK version is vegan). Does Turkish Delight count because if so then that is my fave. I also like gummies if they’re vegan.

15. favorite book you read as a school assignment? To Kill a Mockingbird (high school), or The Bloody Chamber (uni), or Hamlet (uni)

16. most comfortable position to sit in? One foot under me, the other foot out to the other side, but both in the same position (if the surface is flat), or knees up.

17. most frequently worn pair of shoes? I own a lot of shoes so there isn’t really a single pair I wear the most. Recently my Air Force 1s, I’m trying to wear them in because the previous owner didn’t so the cause blisters.

18. ideal weather? Cold, overcast, rainy, still. Or without the rain. or snow (as long as I’m not going in the car and I can go crunch my shoes in it xD

19. sleeping position? Either side, but my body is kinda rotated towards the bed so it’s like half way between on my stomach and on my side.

21. obsession from childhood? Animals, dinosaurs, goddesses, magic, crystals, neopets, sims. I still love all of these things, I am a rotating door of obsessions, usually a bunch of the same obsessions on repeat.

22. role model? I don’t have one particular role model, I do have tons of people that I love and respect.

23. strange habits? I have so many strange habits that I have become one myself. Nothing actually stands out though because 99% of it is because of my brain.

25. first song you remember hearing? Maybe Dancing Queen by ABBA, definitely the first I remember dancing to, but my dad loves music so I grew up with a constant stream of it.

26. favorite activity to do in warm weather? Suffer xD when I’m able to do so comfortably I’d love to go out looking for pretty stones, and nice sticks with my fiance, also would like to go on picnics with him, or a friend if I had one.

30. places that you find sacred? Nature. My favourite spots are little creeks/rivers in wooded areas, but just like, all of it is special and should be treated as such. Also bedrooms.

31. what outfit do you wear to kick ass and take names? I think maybe I’m not gutsy or whatever enough, but also unpredictable. I wear whatever I like, and I’m just as likely to cry in all of them as I am to accidentally get in a fight.

I feel so basic because I never really did the vine thing.  There was one that nearly killed me because I literally started to choke that was in some kind of office and the bit like can you run this past me again, and they just fucking legged it past them holding a folder up, Saw it once, never saw it again. 39. lemon cake or lemon meringue pie? I had a vegan lemon meringue pie once, so good. Cake is easier to make though, and I can eat more in one sitting without getting sick xD

40. weirdest thing to ever happen at your school? Um, the principal in my last year of school got caught for being a peeping tom a few years after I left.

47. favorite type of cheese? As a kid it was feta. Now I only eat vegan cheese. I was never a huge cheese fan tbh.

48. if you were a fruit, what kind would you be? Rotten xD um probably a cranberry or something because I’m small, and I’m not a fan of cranberry.

50. what made you laugh the hardest you ever have? Probably one of the vines I listed above, either “run it past” or “can’t lift a house” because both of those resulted in crying and choking.

51. current stresses? My cat has been throwing up and having diarrhoea the past week or so, she’s been to the vet, it got better for a bit, but tonight suddenly got worse. Living with my parents who I have a very toxic relationship with. Living in a single very overfilled room. Trying to not spend money so that I can save up to move next year. Nightmares about my trauma. Either the house is haunted or there’s a build up of negative energy (probably that).

52. favorite font? I always liked the look of all of the script style fonts (freestyle, french, lucida, lucida calligraphy, Edwardian, Palace) but they’re not accessible so for anything people will actually see (which is literally nothing) I always go with arial.

53. what is the current state of your hands? Slight rash on one finger because I’m sensitive to what is in a lot of hand washing products apparently (never an issue until the pandemic), one broken finger nail that is a bit shorter than the rest. Not painted nails because energy. I always wear my engagement ring, usually I wear several other rings but with how my skin is being I thought I’d better not for a while.

54. what did you learn from your first job? Bakeries are hell, my circadian rhythm will not adjust to anything besides its natural state for longer than a couple of days at a time no matter how long or hard I try. I can absolutely fall asleep standing up.

57. the three biggest struggles you’ve overcome? I’m interpretting overcome loosely here, meaning “I have not died from this” - Suicide of my first love - Bullying - 3 different jobs that all nearly killed me

58. four talents you’re proud of having? Literally can’t think of one. I’m not talented. I’m passable at a couple of things, but I worked for those things and I’m still not good enough for anyone to confuse me for being talented xD Those things I care about that I’ve worked on a lot are singing, art, languages, crafts? I operate on how long it has lasted instead of how bad it is, essentially I get so desperate so I’ll try it even though it probably won’t help. I have the resistance of a rhino to most meds.

75. when did you lose your first tooth? No idea, like 4 I think? I did keep them in a weird little box for no reason though because they never got taken away from under my pillow.

76. what’s your favorite potato food (i.e. tater tots, baked potatoes, fries, chips, etc.)? I’m a fan of a good mash if it has lots of flavour (like gravy). Otherwise, crisps or fries.

I’m gonna start writing my fanfic about my Animal Crossing island 🤔

Here’s the summary I have

—PREMISE AND PLOT—

Moondrop Island is a tiny uncharted island somewhere in the northern Caribbean Sea, originally inhabited by only furries—two-legged talking animal creatures! Furries are not found anywhere else on Earth, aside from tiny uncharted islands. A long time ago, furries and humans coexisted. But furries eventually were mistreated. An elder furry with magical powers erased all humans’ memory of them, and they all fled to small uncharted islands, hidden by mystic forces. There were no humans who knew of the existence of these furries, or of these seemingly mystical islands, until a small boat sailing from an island in the Bahamas in got into a shipwreck during what was supposed to be a three-hour whale-watching tour. Everyone on the boat survived, and miraculously washed up on the gently moonlit shores of Moondrop Island 2:00 that morning. Tom Nook takes in the castaways, gives them homes on the island, and lets them pay with a spontaneous form of currency he comes up with—Nook Miles. He offers the Nook Miles as a reward for improving the island. In the meantime, he and everyone else are putting together all their knowledge and trying to build a GPS that can track the island’s location in the world to lead the castaways back home. However, since the furries cannot go back to the human world and show themselves to people, that would mean... they’d have to say goodbye forever...

—CHARACTERS—

Pastell Sugar (Original character (self-insert) Age- 22 Birthday- February 4 Favorite song- My Place Very naive and expressive, animated, eccentric. Can be quite moody. Some may say Pastell is annoying. Pastell’s moods can come in as many “colors” as the rainbow. Pastell is creative and likes to make the mundane things exciting. She also likes to exaggerate things. Pastell likes to create things such as art or decorations, and pretend she’s doing magic in the process. Pastell gets along well with Haku, and Pekoe. Rodeo is her snack buddy. Haku Yowane (Vocaloid) Age- 24 Birthday- November 21 Favorite song- Stale Cupcakes Haku is wistful and emotional, and at times dreary. A bit of a crybaby. Likes music, but is too shy to perform in front of others. She has a plush cat named Snowbell that she carries around everywhere. She gets along quite well with Pastell and Goldie. Haku is a very caring person who likes to help with her friends’ problems. However, she can be hard on herself a lot. She also likes writing stories and poems. Before ending up on Moondrop, Haku’s friends back at home were Miku, Neru, Luka, Kaito, Akaito, and her older brother Dell. Rhona Aequor (Original character) Age- 24 Birthday- March 10 Favorite song- K.K. Bossa Stoic and mysterious. Appears strict, but is misunderstood. Actually a very kind person. A lover of all things related to water and the ocean. A marine biologist. Loves fish and marine creatures. She is very fascinated with Flo and Sly, who are both marine creatures... but as furries. Rhona loves to swim, and is a free-diver. Rhona is calm and collected... usually. She can go nuts about fish and can spend hours at the museum, either looking at fish exhibits, or chattering with Blathers. Back at home, she has a girlfriend, Nagisa. Rhona often thinks and worries about Nagisa, longing to see her again and to let her know she’s safe. Nico Yazawa (Love Live!) Age- 22 Birthday- July 22 Favorite song- K.K. Bubblegum Nico is a dweeb. But she still thinks she’s better than you. Nico is quite self-centered and troublesome. She’s usually the one causing the most drama out of the group. She especially doesn’t get along with Luana... at first, anyway. Nico wants to be the biggest pop-star on the island! (Sorry, Audie.) And soon, the world! But Nico has very bad luck and things keep on getting in her way! Such as tarantulas! Nico actually gets along well with Vladimir, because they’re both too short to be taken seriously. She ends up keeping a talking pet tarantula in her house named Terry. Back at home, Nico’s friends are Maki, Eli, and Nozomi. Rin Hoshizora (Love Live!) Age- 20 Birthday- November 1 Favorite song- Rockin’ K.K. Rin is cheerful, energetic, and the life of the party. She is spontaneous and likes animals a lot. She even has her own catchphrase, much like a furry... it’s “nya!” When Rin discovers furries, and the fact humans mistreated them, she feels angry at humanity. Rin gets along great with Audie. Rin is usually the one throwing all the parties on the island, and organizing the fun sport and game events. She is usually filled with energy. But deep inside, she can be quite emotional. Back at home, Rin’s best friend is Hanayo. Her other friends are Kotori, Umi, and Honoka. Luana Kai (Original character) Age- 23 Birthday- July 7 Favorite song- K.K. Adventure Luana is a fearless, impulsive daredevil. She leaps before she looks, and she’s brave to a fault. She can be obnoxiously brash. She’s also the one who got everyone into this mess... Luana was the captain of the small boat, When the storm came, she refused to turn the boat back. Luana is a huge tomboy and has always dreamed of being a pirate. She likes the ocean as well, and has a intriguing fascination with geography and geology. She doesn’t know a thing about technology, but her knowledge goes to good use with making the GPS. Nico and Luana are rivals. Back at home, her friends she left behind are Umiko, and her older sister Oliana. Teto Kasane (Vocaloid) Age- 21 Birthday- April 1 Favorite song- K.K. Stroll Teto comes off as weird and hyperactive. She likes memes and uses them a lot in conversation. She is often called annoying. However, Teto is an awkward and modest girl who just isn’t that good at making friends. She is often cheerful and likes to help people. She can be clumsy and sometimes doesn’t know what to say and is awkward. Teto has a big appetite and likes to bake and cook, especially sweets. Teto gets along well with Bettina, who understands her well. Back at home, her friends were Gumi, Gakupo, Meiko, Rin, and Len. Octavia Scherzando (Original character) Age- 25 Birthday- October 30 Favorite song- K.K. Fusion Outgoing and charismatic, yet sentimental. The most mature one of the human group. Also the responsible one. The fun “mom friend.” Her hobby is music. She plays the electric bass and piano. She also dances. Rumor has it that she once was a school idol back in high school, but she won’t talk about it. Apparently she also used to sing. But something must have happened, because nobody has really heard her sing either. Can her mysterious past ever be revealed? Octavia gets along well with Shep. She keeps a talking black bass in her house. The fish, not the instrument. Back at home, she leaves behind her close friend Aria, and friends from high school, Hibiki, Ursula, Santana, and Ruya. Animal Residents Furries have the same lifespans as humans, meaning they age the same in years. 18 in human years is 18 in furry years, regardless of the species of the furry. Flo the penguin Age- 23 Birthday- September 2 Flo is a mostly laid-back penguin, though she can have quite a temper when it comes to people being unfair. Her hobby is music, and her style is mostly punk. Pekoe the cub Age- 19 Birthday- May 18 Pekoe is a very kind and sweet bear. She can be a bit timid, and sometimes worries she isn’t that interesting. She is a great listener and sometimes can be quirky. Audie the wolf Age- 26 Birthday- August 31 Audie is a very outgoing and expressive wolf. She can be excitable, and uses a lot of language like “fabulous.” She is unexpectedly very tough and can be a “mama bear,” fiercely protecting her friends in need. Shep the sheepdog Age- 24 Birthday- November 24 Shep is a fashionista, and a bit of a hipster. He’s always on top of what’s cool and unique. He talks in a way that’s almost hard to decipher for people who are unfamiliar to his “brand” of “lingo.” Portia the dalmatian Age- 25 Birthday- October 25 Portia is a glamorous and stylish young lady who loves fashion, and may seem a little self-absorbed at times. She doesn’t judge other people based on looks, however, Sly the alligator Age- 20 Birthday- November 15 Sly is an alligator who loves to play and work out. His favorite sport is football (the kind where you throw the ball and tackle.) He also likes to swim. He is always enthusiastic and raring to go, but is very patient and understanding towards those who can’t keep up with him. Vladimir the cub Age- 28 Birthday- August 2 Vladimir is a grumpy little bubblegum pink bear who is never taken seriously because he is small and cute. He is therefore always angry and annoyed with people. He gets along with Nico because of similar problems. He can be kind when not angered... just don’t call him adorable. Goldie the golden retriever Age- 21 Birthday- December 27 Goldie loves flowers and nature, and loves to be outdoors. She is calm, humble, and polite, but can be angered easily by people who think they’re better than others. She doesn’t really get along well with Shep... Rodeo the bull Age- 22 Birthday- October 29 Rodeo is a laid-back, gentle bull who loves things like flowers, snacks, watching the clouds drift by, and taking naps. He gets along well with Pastell for these reasons. He is very relaxed, but sometimes he likes to work out, at the prompt of Audie. Bettina the mouse Age- 20 Birthday- June 12 Bettina is a chipper, kind mouse who likes cooking. Her favorite foods are pasta dishes with cheese in them. She likes to read books, and her favorites are usually mystery novels or classic children’s literature.

—CHAPTERS AND SUMMARIES— (so far)

Pilot Episode- Luana, working part time as a resort in the Bahamas, was the captain of a small tour boat. Rhona was the assistant captain and tour guide for what was supposed to only be a three-hour whale-watching tour... When they headed for a storm out in the open sea, Luana was reckless and refused to turn back, even though Rhona warily advised her to retreat. All the passengers had a bad feeling about it. Pastell was sitting next to Haku, whom she had just met, and had been having a conversation with her. Nico and Rin had just met, and were sitting next to each other as well. Teto was meanwhile trying to make friends with Octavia, the “mysterious pretty lady” sitting in the shade. Her bouncy and hyper personality repelled most people, but Octavia found it endearing... Now everyone was panicking. The intense storm grew stronger, and eventually flipped over and wrecked the boat once it was out in the open sea. The strong current swept away the parts and passengers to a nearby mysterious island… Looking for Snowbell Shortly after everyone is conscious and brought to safety, there is relief that everyone on the boat had survived. However, thoughts in Haku’s mind are racing, and she’s too ashamed to tell the others why. Haku’s plush cat, Snowbell, which she took everywhere, is missing. When Haku came to, Snowbell was nowhere to be found. Snowbell is extremely precious to Haku, and she cannot be without her. Haku breaks down and tells everyone that she is missing her plush cat, and surprisingly, the she is responded to nicely and is offered help. However, Luana thinks Haku is being a crybaby. At one point Haku is about to give up, crying as she imagines Snowbell floating all alone in the ocean, lost forever. But Luana, who initially said Haku was overreacting, spots Snowbell behind some rocks on the beach. Just then, the tide begins to carry Snowbell away. Luana jumps straight into the rough tide and retrieves Snowbell for Haku, even getting scraped knees in the process. Haku concludes that Luana isn’t so harsh after all. Island Improvement and Nook Miles Tom Nook feels there is a predicament, there are 8 new members of the island ad they have nowhere to go, and they need housing, at least temporarily. They have no money to offer, so as leader of the island, he decides to make up a brand-new system of currency on the spot—Nook Miles. They will be rewarded for decorating and improving the island. In the meanwhile, Nook and everyone have to work hard building houses for the castaways. Meeting Everyone An episode where everyone interacts with each other, and everyone gets to know each other. The story of Furries An episode that tells the backstory of the furries, and lore of the furries. Pastell and Haku’s Mystery Island Tour Pastell and Haku win a Tour on a Mystery Island, and meet Audie, a stray wolf furry alone on an island. Pastell and Haku decide to invite Audie to Moondrop Island. Blathers and the Museum Blathers opens up his museum. Rhona’s marine life account of the island The chapter is told by Rhona’s point of view, as she converses with Blathers, dives in the ocean, fishes, is curious about Sly and Flo (an alligator and penguin furry respectively), and observes the rest of the characters going about their day. Luana’s chaotic account of the island Luana and Rhona decide to hang out. Rhona is down-to-earth and calm and collected. Luana is chaotic, wild, and a loose cannon. Luana always runs and scares the fish when Rhona is trying to catch it. Every. Single. Time. The Mysterious Mia Okuda Nico is a fan of Mia Okuda, the mysterious retired school idol with a frilly-gothic image, long black hair, and a deep, velvety voice. When Octavia first comes into Nico’s room, she sees a poster of Mia Okuda hanging on the wall. (Don’t ask why that was being sold in Nook’s Cranny. I know it makes no sense.) “This is one of my favorite idols.” Nico says. “She’s pretty obscure. From then on, Snowbell is Haku’s pet. Teto’s birthday Teto celebrates her birthday on the island. The Tarantula Incident Nico is terrified of tarantulas. However, tarantulas unfortunately love her. Nico Yazawa has a huge cult following of tarantulas, as she is the most popular school idol in tarantula society... Nico and Luana also don’t get along at all at first. Nico is a total diva, and Luana is a total slob. Nico uses her Nook Mikes ticket at the same time as Luana, and they have to go to the same island. The island is infested with tarantulas everywhere. (Also, please don’t ask how they can do mystery island tours without a GPS, lol) Nico is terrified. The tarantulas however, adore Nico and want to get her autograph, so they climb on her. Nico screams for Luana to help her. Luana fearlessly pulls out her net and attempts to rescue Nico from the tarantulas by just catching all of them. However, the tarantulas see Luana as a threat and run up to her, biting her simultaneously and knocking her out with their poison. Nico faints from the shock (again), leaving her terrrifying tarantula fans to climb over her and steal her belongings as souvenirs. Nico and Luana are rescued and they go back home. Nico apologizes to Luana and thanks her for trying to save her, and they form a friendship from them on. However, Nico accidentally takes one tarantula back with her. She eventually ends up keeping him as a pet. His name is Terry and he can talk. He becomes like Nico’s sidekick and partner in crime. Nico looks to Terry for advice. Bunny Day Madness Zipper T. Bunny comes to the island and hides eggs everywhere. Madness ensues. Grumpy Vladimir Vladimir is grumpy because he’s small, cute, and pink, and nobody takes him seriously. Dreams of home Everyone becomes wistful and starts dreaming and reminiscing of home during a slow, rainy day. A somber, psychological episode to break the pace. Also we get to see Rhona cry. But not Luana, because she (allegedly) never cries. Octavia goes fishing Octavia is taken fishing by Rhona. Octavia only catches bass. (Gee, wonder why.) Wisp the ghost Everyone is doing a test of courage, when they stumble across a real ghost! However, the ghost is much more afraid of them than they are of it... The town tune panic Everyone fights over what the town tune should be. To compromise, everyone puts two notes of their favorite song and make a brand new song out of all their songs altogether. The end result song ends up sounding like a disaster. It gets stuck in the heads of everyone on the island and drives the population crazy. Bonus: Octavia’s backstory The first of the Bonus backstory chapters. We get to see Octavia in high school as Mia Okuda, and finally find out what event made her stop singing... (SPOILERS: It was because she was publically criticized and humiliated because “her voice was too deep for a teen idol’s.” Then she saw all the memes people made about her voice and became too ashamed to sing, or even listen to herself again for a long time.) Finding my voice again The black bass Octavia keeps in her house begins to talk one morning. It tells Octavia that it’s time. With a little help and guidance, the fish is determined to help Octavia find her voice and start singing again. Octavia is a mess at first, and at one point she becomes even more discouraged than before she started, convinced she lost the ability to sing forever, and now there’s even proof. She runs out of her house and sits on a bench, distraught. Flo comes up to her, in a good mood, offering half of her corn dog. Octavia can no longer hide her emotions and starts sobbing. When Flo asks what’s wrong, Octavia tells her everything. Flo ends up giving Octavia sage advice. “Each song is kinda like a journey. When you sing, just pretend you’re the heroine.” Octavia returns to her house, with a new determination inside her. She starts singing again, for the first time in eight years. Nico is walking outside. She’s feeling glum because her ice cream dropped in the pond, when she hears a powerful singing voice that’s undeniably the voice of one of her favorite idols... She runs straight into Octavia’s nearby house to tell her, “Oh my gosh! Mia Okuda is on the island! I hear her singing!” When Nico realizes Octavia was singing, the pieces finally click... Octavia was Mia Okuda all along! Nico faints dramatically and theatrically. Idol Madness With Nico realizing one of her favorite idols was on the island, she feels so tingly, but also overshadowed. Audie also wants to be an idol, so Nico already has competition. Not only that, but Haku is aiming to be some sort of musician of some kind. But she’s so shy that she doesn’t show her face much anyway. But with all the talent on the island, Tom Nook suggests everyone should share their talents in an upcoming talent show and dance party night! The Island’s Talent Show Dance Party Night! All day, everyone is getting ready and looking forward to the island’s big shiny event. Haku’s stage fright Haku has stage fright about performing her music. What is Pastell’s talent?  It was Friday and you were excited for it. Finally you could have some rest from all the tiring week you have had due to some projects you had to finished at work. Your plan for the rest of the day was staying at home and eat a lot of junk food while watching Netflix. You were waiting for the clock to announce the end of the day at work when your phone lighted up and the screen showed Chanyeol’s name.

“Hi Yeol! What’s up?” You said, scribbling at your notebook just to entertain yourself.

“Hi y/n! Are you busy?” He asked.

“Nope. I’m just waiting to get out of work which is in about 3 minutes” you chuckled.

“Oh! And do you have any plans after that?” He said quizzically.

“Not really. I was planning to head home and stay the rest of the night watching movies. Why?” you said nonchalantly.

“I was wondering if you could help me with something. I’m planning on giving little presents to the fans that are attending my birthday party on Tuesday but I don’t know yet what would be good.” He explained.

“Well it has to be something that both men and women can have, right?” You asked thoughtfully.

“Yes. Usually most of them are girls but I want something more “neutral” in case there would be boys too” Chanyeol said.

“Mmm... you could give them scarfs or gloves. They could be useful as the winter is approaching” you suggested although you were not 100% sure about it but that was the first idea that came up to your mind.

“Yeah! That could be an option” he said hesitantly.

“You didn’t like the idea. I can tell by the way you said it” you sneered and he laughed.

“To be honest not much” he admitted shyly. “The thing is I was thinking on giving something handmade. You know like a bracelet or something like that”.

“Oh! That could be good too.” You agreed. “But how many do you have to make?”.

“Around 100” he said, concern clearly on his voice. “And I need to have them done by Monday so that’s why I’m desperate and calling you. To see if your kind soul could help me with that”.

“Yeol! Why did you wait until now to make them?” You scolded him.

“I know but I was so busy getting the venue for the event and other stuff and now the group has practice everyday” he explained miserably.

You released a heavy sigh. You really were hoping to get cozy and take a good nap once you have gotten home but after hearing him in despair you knew Chanyeol was having a really hard time thinking about this situation. Meanwhile you gathered your things and walked out of the office. The noice from the streets were starting to get louder as you approached the avenue.

“Fine! I’ll help you. When are we going to make them?” You asked defeated.

“Thank you thank you thank you” he said relieved. “I’m free today so I can pick you up right now. We will go and get the material for the bracelets and we can go to your place to make them there” he suggested.

“Ok. I’ll wait for you at the bus stop near my workplace. I’m sending you my location” you said as you were typing fast and sending the information to Chanyeol’s phone.

“Got it. See you in 15 minutes” he said.

“Ok, bye.” You said and hung up.

While sitting on the bus stop you were looking at your surroundings. A lot of people walking around as most of them were getting out from work and others were already packing the bars and restaurants near. A van parked in front of you and you recognized it it immediately. It was Chanyeol’s. You took your belongings, walked to the vehicle and opened the door.

“Hey!” He said when you entered and closed the door.

You turned to look at him and greeted him back. “Hi!” You said as your were putting your stuff on the back seat.

“So where are we going?” You asked.

“I found a store where we can find the material. It’s at the new mall.” He said, his eyes focused on the road.

“Very well then” you said and turned to look at the window.

“How was your day?” He asked.

“Tiring. I had to finish several projects and I have some unfinished too. You know as the holiday season is around the corner everyone is getting frantic about it” you explained.

“How about yours?” You asked and turned to look at him.

“Same but for other reasons. You know our comeback is on Wednesday and we have to prepare for the live shows so we are practicing like crazy” he said with tiredness on his voice.

“Oh yeah! I can’t wait for it. I’ve seen the teasers and it looks good” you said. “So who am I talking to now. Is it the real Chanyeol or the fake one?” You joked and he snorted.

“You are going to come at us with it too?” He asked rhetorically.

“Sorry. It just that it’s very funny all the things your fans do regarding that topic. Like memes and such” you said amusingly.

“I haven’t seen much but I can imagine.” He said and shook his head slightly.

“Hey! Didn’t you take a class every Friday at this hour?” Chanyeol asked curiously and turned to look at you briefly. “Not every Friday, only when Jackson and I can go but he’s overseas now because he has to attend to a fashion show on Sunday and I feel so tired for it” you said. 

“I see....” Chanyeol said.  With Jackson being away Chanyeol saw that as his window to get to spend more time with you.  Maybe if he takes too long in coming back I could speak with y/n about my feelings for her. He thought to himself.

“When does he come back?” He asked and you gave him a quizzical look.

“On Monday” you simply said and just as fast as his hope had risen it fell. He didn’t feel today was a good day for talking about it and the next days he would be busy with rehearsals, his fan event and the comeback promotion.

“Oh...” was all he said.

“So what about you and Sojin, did you two make up already?” You asked. It wasn’t something you wanted to talked about but you thought you needed to show a little bit of interest in that part of Chanyeol’s life as he was doing it with yours and Jackson.

“Yeah. I saw her yesterday at the studio and she apologized” he said calmly. It was true what he said. The two of them talked briefly yesterday and Sojin had told him she was out of line at the dinner. Chanyeol on the other hand, not feeling the rage he was feeling the night before, forgave her. Nevertheless that couldn’t make up the fact that he wasn’t happy with her so he decided that after the comeback promotion he would talked to her and end things up.

“Cool” you said trying to sound as if that didn’t affect you. You yawned and closed your eyes for a moment.

“Don’t tell me you’re sleepy already. It’s 7:00 pm” Chanyeol whined.

“Don’t bother me. I could use a nap right now” you said tiredly.

“You can’t sleep now grandma, we have things to do.” He complained jokingly.

“Hey!” You smacked his arm playfully. “I’m not the one who’s turning 27 next week” you

pointed out.

“There’s no much left for your birthday either.” He huffed.

“There’s still a month left for that” you said smugly.

“By the way, the boys and I are throwing a party for the album’s releasing and my birthday next Friday. You should come.” He said nonchalantly hoping you would say yes.

“Sure! I’ll be there after work” you said cheerfully “Can Jackson come with me?”.

Chanyeol kept quiet for a moment. Hell no! He thought annoyed.

“Yeah...” he said hesitantly and cleared his throat “I don’t see a problem with that” he said trying to sound more secure.

“Cool, thanks Yeol.” You said and smiled at him.

“We are here” he announced as the van was entering the parking lot.

You two got out of the car and started heading towards the stores.  You were looking excitedly at the Christmas decorations. This was your favorite time of the year and you were always looking forward to decorating your house and the Christmas tree. Chanyeol, next to you, was looking at you amused. He had always said you were like an excited kid during that time. Wanting to buy everything related to Christmas that you could find and finding joy in the simplest thing as wrapping presents. He hadn’t gone to your home in the last week but he’d supposed that it was already in the process of becoming winterland.  Although he liked the holidays too he wasn’t as jolly as you, maybe it was because during the last years he and boys had to work during that time and they couldn’t quite feel the holiday spirit. You would tell him every year how badly you missed spending the holidays with your family at home and he and boys would always visit you on Christmas Day or Christmas Eve depending on their schedule. You couldn’t believe most of the people here have to work all the day during that time as in your country in most of the jobs they would go only half time or skip the day. You felt joyous yeah but at the same time a little bit sad and nostalgic. 

“Y/n” Chanyeol called you and distracted you from your train of thoughts. You turned to look at him.

“There’s the store” he said and grabbed your arm to guide you to it. Once on the store you two grabbed all the things that you needed to make the bracelets. It was kind of easy since you picked all the beads and charms for the girls and he did the same for the boys. After that you two were walking between the stores and something caught your attention. 

“Yeol, I want to see something here. You want to come with me or you wait outside?. It’s only going to take me a minute.” You said, pointing at the jewelry shop.

“I’ll go” he said and walked behind you.

The inside of the store was pretty and in it there were a couple of people looking around and the store sellers. Chanyeol stood next to the counter, also looking around in case he could see something for his sister and mom.

“Good evening miss. Can I help you?” A cheerful lady told you.

“Good night. I was wondering if you have the new Disney charms.” You said politely. “Ah yes! They’re this way” the lady said and motioned you to follow her.

“I’ll be right back.” You said at Chanyeol and he nodded at you. He was so focused on looking at the bracelets and rings that he got startled when an old lady on the other side of the counter appeared in front him.

“Good evening young man! How can I help you?” The old lady said friendly.

“Good evening” Chanyeol said kindly. “I’m looking for a present”.

“Oh! Is it for your girlfriend?”. She asked and gestured at you.

“Oh no, she’s not my… girlfriend. She is my friend” he said a little bit uncomfortable.

“I apologized.” The woman said quickly.

“It’s ok.” Chanyeol said nonchalantly.

“She’s very beautiful and she seems lovely too” the old lady pointed out. Chanyeol turned to look at you. You were so focus at what the other lady was telling you when a side smile crept up in Chanyeol’s lips “Yes... she is” he trailed off and she gave him a knowing smile at him. Chanyeol blushed at the look the lady had given him as if he had been caught.

“So who’s the present for?” The lady asked.

“It’s for my mom and sister” he said. Turning to look at the counter again.

“I see, Do you have anything in mind? Would you like to give them bracelets, necklaces, earrings maybe?” She asked curiously.

“Can you show me the earrings and bracelets please?” He asked.

“Of course! Be right back...” she said and walked to the other side of the counter. You approached Chanyeol excitedly and opened the little box with your bracelet in it.

“Yeol look. It’s so pretty” you said excitedly as you were waving the little box. He laughed at how child-like you could be sometimes.

“I couldn’t buy all of the charms that I wanted because the ran out of them” you pouted.

“But the lady told me they would arrived sometime between the next week or the one after that so I’m totally coming back for them”.

“What are the charms that you want?” Chanyeol asked you.

“The ones from the Harry Potter’s and Frozen’s collections” you said.

He shook his head at you “ You’re like a kid sometimes”.

You glared at him “says the man who has a Zootopia blanket on his bed”.

He raised up his hands as a way of surrender “ok ok. We are both like kids” You nodded. “What were you doing? Are you going to buy something?”

“Yes, a present for mom and Yoora” he said.  In that moment the old lady came back with the jewelry and smiled at you.

“Good evening!” You said and smiled at the woman.

“Good evening, young lady” she said politely.

“Here they are boy. Take your time looking at them and I’ll come back after” she said and left you two alone to speak to other customers. Chanyeol and you leaned over the counter to get a better look at them.

“Uh they’re all so pretty” you said quietly.

“Oh! this would be perfect for Yoora” you said pointing at a gold bracelet that had a charm

with a boy and girl together engraved on it. He nodded enthusiastically since it represented the unity he had with his sister.

“Now for your mom I’ll say you should go with the earrings that have yellow stones” you suggested.

“I liked those but I also liked these 2 for her” he said pointing at them “I’m doubtful about which ones I should choose”.

Out of a sudden your eyes got wide open as you remembered something. “Oh god! I totally had forgotten about this other thing I need to buy” you facepalmed yourself. “What is it?” He said quizzically.

“A... set of pajamas” you answered. “Can you catch up with me at the lingerie department?. Otherwise it would be closed by the time we got out of here.”

“Sure, I’ll see you there.” He said and you turned to headed out of the store. After 10 minutes he choosed the jewelry and the seller came back.

“So that are the ones you are buying?” The old lady said.

“Yes” he said pleased with his choice.

“A very good choice boy. Let we wrapped them up for you” she said happily. 

“Thank you!” He said and smiled at her.

While she was doing so Chanyeol noticed the old lady was wearing a beautiful ring with a deep blue diamond in it- It already looked old but still in good conditions. It had a beautiful engraved around it and in the middle of it was the big blue stone- and his mind went straight to you. He thought maybe he could give you a bracelet or earrings with the same stone for your birthday.

“That’s a beautiful ring Mrs. May I ask where did you buy it?” He said politely and the lady smiled.

“Thank you. It was a wedding gift from my husband” she admitted.

“Oh...” Chanyeol said. “But do you happen to have something with the same diamond here? You see my friend really loves blue color and her birthday is coming. I thought about it now and It would be a nice present, wouldn’t it?“

“Of course but you see blue diamonds are very rare and hard to find. At the moment we don’t have any piece of jewelry with this kind of stone but I’ll tell you what, we have a design class in which you can make any piece of jewelry. I could order the beads and you could make the bracelet. What do you think about it?”. She asked. Chanyeol thought about it for a moment. He thought it could be a wonderful idea as the bracelet and its design would be one of a kind. “That would be awesome, thank you” Chanyeol said cheerfully.

“Just leave me your phone number and I’ll call you back when they arrived”. The old lady said and gave him a notebook for him to write his contact info. She also gave him a business card with her name on it. Chanyeol looked at it and smiled.

“Ok then. I guess I’ll see you next time Mrs. Minerva” he said kindly.

“See you Mr. Park. Have a good night” Minerva said and smiled at him.

Chanyeol turned around to exit the store. As he was walking to meet you he was feeling excited at the thought of his new project. Your bracelet. He thought that in his free time he will have to look for designs since he wanted for it to be perfect.

You were at the lingerie department choosing a pajama and a pair of underwear and bras that you would needed for a couple of garments as their colors were lighter and you could noticed your dark color underwear beneath it. At your job they had the great idea of going dressed as something related to Christmas starting from the first week on December. The problem was that you would be packed with work all the next week and you would have the boys party also so that would left you with no time for going shopping and you’ll have to improvise with your clothes at home.

I could be a Snowman that week you thought while trying on the pieces of underwear.

Once you finished you looked yourself at the mirror and sighed. To be honest you weren’t keen of this activity since you tend to criticized your body. There were days in which you would feel better about it and sexy and saying to yourself yaaaaas girl! for how good you saw yourself, and others, which were most of them, in which you were so concerned about the way your thighs looked, the stretch marks that although they were already white and fading, you could see them so clearly that you felt insecure about them. You also hated the little bra bulge that it has always appeared and that no matter how hard you were trying to make it gone it seemed impossible. Yes you had body issues and you knew you had to work on them but right now it was hard to do so due to your schedule. You have decided that after all your deadlines at work you will look for some help. It was kind of ironic how could you felt love for other people such as your friends or family and not feeling it for yourself first. I hope it comes the day where I don’t care about this anymore and love myself you thought and started to put your clothes back on.

  Chanyeol arrived at the department store. He was looking for you, walking around through all the underwear and felt uncomfortable about it. That’s why I’ve never came here when my exes asked me to come with them He thought. Although he was feeling that way he saw some things that caught his eyes. 

“Hey! Can I help you with something?” A young woman approached him.

“Hey! Mmm... no thank you. I’m waiting for someone” he said nervously.

“Your girlfriend?” The lady asked. Clearly, she was eyeing Chanyeol from head to toe to which he felt even more uncomfortable. Y/n where are you?! He thought. Scanning the store frantically until he saw you at the register.

“Ah, she’s over there” he pointed at you. “Good night.” He said and walked hurriedly to where you were.

 You turned to look at the person who had arrived next to you. It was Chanyeol. He let out a relief sigh and you frowned at him.

“Are you ok?” You asked him.

“No. Don’t look but the other lady over there was trying to flirt with me” he said quietly. You turned slightly to look at said lady. Clearly she was still looking at him. You try to suppressed a laugh. Chanyeol looked at you annoyed.

“It’s not funny” he said.

“Do you want me to punch her or should I let Sojin know about it so she can do it?” You asked him sarcastically.

“I... ahg never mind” he rolled his eyes “can we go now?”.

“In a minute. The cashier went to get my change” you explained.

Chanyeol was looking around that part of the store until a set of lingerie caught his attention more than the rest of the other underwear. It was a dark green lace bra and matching panties. The thought of how would you look like wearing it appeared in his mind but he cleared it away rapidly.

I can’t think about that he mentally scolded himself.

 You were looking at your phone and gave him a quick glance when you noticed a piece on lingerie caught Chanyeol’s attention.  Would he liked that for Sojin? You thought sadly.  Luckily for both of you, the cashier came back with your stuff and change in that moment and you could leave the store.

“So do you want to get dinner here or we have takeout food?” Chanyeol asked you in order to leave the awkward situation behind.

“We can buy something at the fast food and take it it home. Do you agree?” you suggested.

“Yeah. Also, I could use a coffee” he said. Tiredness evident on his face. “Make them two” you said and both headed towards the fast food.

 Once in your house you and Chanyeol were sitting on your living room floor. Food and coffee were scattered around you since your table was occupied with beads and threads and all the other stuff you two were using to make the bracelets. At first you have thought this would be easy but after seeing that you two could only have made 30 bracelets in 3 hours you rethought that. It was almost 12 am and you were beginning to felt sleepy.

“I can’t believe we barely have 30 bracelets and that there’s 70 to be done” you said tiredly. “Neither can I. I have thought it would be easier” Chanyeol sighed. You got up to get more coffee from the kitchen.

“ Do you want another cup of coffee?” You asked him.

“Yes please.” He said and handled you his mug. Chanyeol was feeling sleepy too. He thought about taking a nap but knowing himself he knew once his eyes closed he would sleep until next morning. “Here you go” you said and gave him his mug. After thanking you both took a sip and you looked around all the mess.

“Do you have practice tomorrow?” You asked him.

“Yep. But is at night” he answered without looking at you. 

“You can stay over if you want” you said nonchalantly. At hearing that Chanyeol missed inserting the bead in the thread. Although he had stayed over before, now that he had acknowledged his feelings for some reason he felt anxious at the thought of it. “Thanks but are you sure?. I don’t want to be a nuisance” He said hesitantly. “Not at all. Tomorrow is my Cinderella day remember?” You joked. -That was what you have said every time people asked you when was your cleaning and doing the chores day.- “Ah yeah! That reminds me I need to throw away some stuff too.” He said resigned.

“Some?! You need to throw away half of your room. Seriously Chan, there are even empty boxes there” you said while frowning at him.

“They’re not empty” he retorted. “I keep all my action figures there. The ones that didn’t have a place on my shelf”  “I’m gonna get you and organizer” you said determined and thought about what kind of furniture would be perfect to match his room.

“Come on. Let’s finish this first and then you can think in redecorate my room” he urged you and brought your attention back to the bracelets.

Two hours later you already had 50 bracelets completed. Despite all the cups of coffee you and Chanyeol were yawning more frecuently, the energy leaving your bodies at a rapid pace. There came a point in which the room went quiet as the two of you were totally focused on finishing them. You didn’t noticed when Chanyeol fell asleep on the carpet until you heard him snoring. You suppressed a laugh and rubbed your eyes to take a look at him. He was in a fetus position trying to warm himself up. You stood up and went to your room for a couple of blankets and a pillow for you and him. When you returned you shook his arm slightly and whispered “Yeol” but the boy didn’t move not a bit. Chanyeol was a heavy sleeper which you envied as you were a light one an even a small sound could wake you up. You decided to let him slept there since he was too heavy for you to move him. You put the blanket over him and tried to moved his head gently to put a pillow under it. “Gosh! You have a heavy head dude” you murmured. You placed his head on it and removed a strand of hair from his forehead. He must be really tired you thought as you kept contemplating him. The frown on his forehead softened when you caress it with your finger. Is he having a bad dream? You thought to yourself. He moved a little and you knew that was you cue for leaving him alone and get back to work. It was 3 am when you have decided to take a nap after the bracelet 75 so you set up your alarm to wake you up at 7 am, grabbed a couple of blankets and went to your couch to lay on it. It didn’t took more than 30 seconds for you to get lost in dreamland.

 Chanyeol woke up after feeling uncomfortable with the position in which had been sleeping. He sat on the floor and turned to looked at his phone.

06:55 am could be read on the screen. He didn’t know the exact moment in which he fell asleep. The last thing he remembered was lying on the floor and closing his eyes because he wanted to rest for a minute. He noticed the blankets over him and the pillow.  She care for me he thought and looked around the room searching for you.  He noticed you were sleeping on the couch and a little smile showed on his lips. He got up from the floor and walked towards you. You looked so peaceful; your features soft, you chest rising and falling so slowly that sometimes he wondered if you were breathing at all. You hands above your chest. You two always mocked each other about your sleeping habits. On one side, Chanyeol always moved and sprawled all across the bed as in most of them his feet would always ended up loose and hanging at the edges. You on the other side, kept your body on one side of the bed and slept with the same position you were having at the moment most of times, occasionally twisting from one side to another. He would have always tell you you looked either as a princess like Sleeping Beauty or Snowhite or like a dead person. However, you being the first thing he sees in the morning, would be a sight with which he would like to wake up forever. He was fighting the urge to kiss your forehead as he knew you could wake up so easily due to your light sleep and after thinking about it for a minute he decided to do it. Maybe if I do it softly she wouldn’t wake up he thought.  He was bending over to reach your forehead when your alarm set off. In that moment you lifted your head from the pillow and it collided with Chanyeol’s.

“Auch!” You exclaimed while rubbing your forehead, still disoriented from sleeping.

“What were you doing?”. Chanyeol also rubbing this mouth and nose answered “You had something stuck in your forehead. I wanted to see if it was a mosquito but It was just a blanket’s fluff”.

“Oh, Sorry for hitting you” You said.

“I think you loosen up my tooth” He said and you laughed out loud.

“I’m serious. I feel it weird” he said. You stood up from the couch and went over to him.

“Let me see” you said. He opened his mouth and you stood on your tiptoes to take a better look at it.

“I don’t see blood or something out of place” you pointed out.

“Your teeth are as perfect as always. Stop whining” you said and Chanyeol pouted at you. You smiled at him and he laughed. You averted your gaze from his face and said “So there are still 25 bracelets left. I’m gonna go and prepare more coffee and breakfast.”

“Ok. I’m going to try and finished the rest of them” Chanyeol said and went to sit over near the table.

You started walking towards the kitchen “I’ll let you know when everything if ready” you yelled from the other room. A fluff?! Who gets so near to a person to see if they have a fluff stick to their forehead? You thought weirded out.

“Yeah” he yelled back.

Man that was so embarrassing he covered his face with both hands. Although not as much as if she would have caught me kissing her forehead he comforted himself. He shook his thoughts away and returned his focus on the bracelets.

30 minutes passed and you called for him to have breakfast at the kitchen island with you. You had prepared scrambled eggs, cut some fruits into slices and made a couple of french toasts. There was coffee, milk and fresh orange juice on the table too.

“It’s a lot of food” Chanyeol said surprised, looking at all the food that was in there.

“I thought you guys always have the table full with food” you said.

“Yeah but usually by the time I wake up on weekends most of it is gone and I’m stuck with the leftovers” Chanyeol said and you shook your head at his answer.

“Well most of these is for you so go ahead” you gestured him to grab anything he wanted and sat next to him.

After breakfast both of you went to finished the rest of the bracelets. It was 11:30 am when you put the last one of them in the box Chanyeol had brought with him.

“That was the last one” you sighed relieved and leaned on your couch. Chanyeol, next to you, also gave a sigh “I can’t believe we made them in one night”.

“I know. Next time you come up with this kind of ideas please start it them a month earlier”.

He laughed at your request “Definitely”.

“Thank you so so so much” he said turning to look at you.

“It’s nothing. Although you could repay me with helping me to decorate the place” you suggested and he smiled. “Deal” he stretched his hand for you to shake and sealed the deal. “But after that you will have to help me with decorating mine”.

“See I don’t think you understand how this works” you said sarcastically. He laughed at your comment “Of course I understand but if you do it... I don’t know, Santa might be a little bit more generous with you this year”. He shrugged and you sneered.

“Fine, just let me know when can I go to leave my letter inside the stoking” you smiled mischievously at him.

Chanyeol’s phone rang indicating a text message had arrived.

He released your hand and grabbed the phone to look at it. “I have to go now. Sehun texted me that our choreographer changed the hour of our practice and he have to be there in 3 hours”.

“Oh... don’t worry about it” you said calmly.

He stood up and gathered all his stuff. You walked him to the door and Chanyeol said “Seriously thank you so much y/n. I don’t know what would I do without you”. You smiled fondly at him “It’s nothing Chan. I’ll see you next time”. He smiled at you “Yeah, see you” he turned and headed to the elevator. You stood there in the door threshold until we was gone. When you closed the door you let your back slide on it. Little by little you have been learning how to control your emotions and also allowing yourself to feel them. Been occupied with things you actually loved had made you not to think too much on Chanyeol and your feelings for him but still most of the time you spent with him your heart ached. Should I just tell him how I feel without giving a damn about his relationship with Sojin? It was a question that although it wasn’t in your mind constantly as before it still lingered in it, specially after spending time with him.

Chanyeol was at his room putting some clothes on. -When he arrived at the dorms everything was quiet so he assumed most of the boys were sleeping or some of them weren’t there. He went to his room and took a shower so he could feel recharged- He was carrying still the tiredness from the week but mostly he felt happy because he got to spend the night with you.  He smiled at the thought of that when Baekhyun entered yelling.

“Hellooooooo” his friend sang like an opera singer.

“Morning Baek” Chanyeol said while putting a hoodie on. The pinkish haired boy threw himself on the bed and asked “Where were you last night? Were you with Sojin?”.

Chanyeol was putting on his rings when he answered “No. I was with y/n”. At the sound of your name Baekhyun opened his eyes widely.

“What?! Did you spend the night with her?” He asked shocked.

“Yes” Chanyeol said nonchalantly.

“Really?!” Baekhyun got up from the bed and was looking at Chanyeol with an excited face.

“Yes, I slept at her house. Now, if you’re asking if we had sex then it’s a no” Chanyeol explained. “Oh” his friend said a little bit disappointed. Chanyeol grabbed a ball he had from Toben’s toys and threw it at Baekhyun. The pinkish haired boy grimaced and faked to be hurt.

“Ouch! What was that for?” He said and threw the ball at Chanyeol. The tall boy barely dodged it and said “You’re such a pervert”.

“I’m not” Baekhyun huffed. “I’m disappointed because I thought you finally had broken up with Sojin”.

“Woah! You really must hated her” Chanyeol snorted.

“Mmm...I dislike her not hate her.” Baekhyun pointed out. “But yeah I do prefer y/n over her a million times” he added. “Well maybe you won’t have to dislike Sojin more” Chanyeol said and turned around to look for his watch.

“Yeah, why’s that?” Baekhyun asked curiously.

“Because I’m going to break up with her” The tall boy answered.

“Woo...” Baekhyun cheered and Chanyeol gave him a pointed look. “Ooo... why?” He asked trying to contain his excitement.

“I’m glad you found all of this amusing” Chanyeol said sarcastically.

“Sorry, you know I’m not very good at hiding my feelings” Baekhyun said awkwardly. Chanyeol sat on his desk chair “Anyway. I want to break up with her because I’m not happy. I have thought It would be good giving it a chance. That me and her would work together as we had a lot of things in common, musically speaking, but as time passes by I realize we are so different” he explained. Baekhyun approached him and padded his back “I’m sorry your relationship didn’t work out mate but if I’m honest with you, I’m glad you finally see things clearly”. Chanyeol nooded and a side-smile appeared on his lips “yeah, I guess me too”. Outside in the hall Suho yelled for all the boys to gathered in the living room since it was time for them to leave for practice. Chanyeol stood up from his chair and grabbed his backpack.  “I have to get mine. See you outside” Baekhyun said and walked to opened the door. Chanyeol nodded in agreement and was checking if he had everything he needed in the bag.

Ok, so finally we have Chanyeol free to get him together with y/n Baekhyun thought excitedly.

“I need to tell Sehun about this” he murmured for himself. We are back on the game he thought and a mischievous face -like the one the Grinch had when he was planning to stole Christmas- appeared on his face.

Pari doesn’t get on well with everyone as any real person would. Most of the time she can be pretty amicable but if a fellow muse antagonises her or just rubs her the wrong way, please be aware that she will respond in kind and sometimes can be prone to holding a grudge, but not always. If your muse falls into a category where this has happened, please do not expect her opinions to change overnight. I also acknowledge that yes, she can make mistakes and that she can be extremely abrasive with people for something very trivial. I do not condone what she does, but I strongly suggest that if you have any doubts on muse interaction, please talk to me before interacting. It saves a LOT of problems.

I am not my muse. My muse is not me. I can’t say that enough.

This may be a bit of a dick-move on my part but please. I will certainly try my damn best to match post length and put as much detail as I can into a reply. There will be times where I struggle, but I will talk to you about this. Please try and give me the same courtesy and I’ll work with what I have. If you just send in something with just ‘hi’ on it, it doesn’t give me a lot to work with. The exemption for this is is if it’s related to a meme that’s been reposted.

I may not be familiar with a verse that your muse is from, but I am more than happy to do research and work from that too, so don’t let that put you off.

If your muse wants to do some serious damage to Pari, so long as it is well thought out, discussed and plotted about properly, it’s acceptable. Feel free to drop a line my way and we can discuss it.

A little request about RP’s where her infertility is concerned. Please do not put the pressure on for her to have a child, even though she actually can’t. The muse has pretty much accepted and has made peace with the fact that she can’t have children by natural means. Her infertility isn’t a be and end all factor, so please do not force the issue.

None of the threads coincide with each other unless discussed by the Muns beforehand.

English isn’t your first language? That’s okay! I’m willing to take that into consideration when it comes to partners.

On the subject of shipping. Yep, Pari is multishippable, but that doesn’t exactly mean that she’ll fling herself at your muse for no reason. I don’t take on threads with shipping from the start, and chemistry between the muses is key. If you want to discuss the potential of a ship with my muse, however I am open to do that and please don’t be scared to approach if you feel that there’s a chance they could have chemistry prior to interacting with her.

If you just throw your muse at her and expect her to just throw herself back at them instantly, then you won’t find much luck. Sorry, that’s how we do things here and if that’s not to your taste, you’re free to unfollow and interaction will cease. As mentioned above, discussion is key.

I would have to say the entire conversation in chapter 19 of Fairytale Ending between Marcel and Elena, but I’ll share this beginning part:

“Why do you say that?” The question nearly sticks in her throat, thick with tears as it is, yet when it does come, it’s soft, with a vulnerability that suggests even the slightest hint of malice will destroy her. She hates that she sounds like that, cannot help that she sounds like that.

“Only reason a girl like you would throw herself into the Mississippi were if her heart were broken.” He’s still staring at her, too intently for comfort. Fixing her face in his mind.

She scrubs furiously at her cheeks and tries to pull away from him. “I’m not doing this over a guy.”

“I never said you were.”

“I have my reasons.”

I chose this scene in particular because Marcel and Elena are two characters who have never canonically spoken, let alone been in a room together or been made aware of each other’s existences; I had to think a lot about who they are as people and then invent the entire dynamic between them whole cloth… and I feel like it worked, in this instance, and it feels like a real connection between the two of them… which I really needed for Plot Reasons. 

U: Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.

Herself – the master of gorgeous, emotional, hard-hitting fics that really take you on a journey. she wrote a ton of btvs, mostly spuffy, fics back in the 00s. she’s also fond of my favorite genre of fic, which is to say, the mildly depressing ones about what happens like, 10, 20 years later, after everything is long over. also, writes smut that is at once tender and literary and hot and is very much so porn with plot? I will never get over how she writes. I read her stories again and again. 

redcandle17 – she’s never been afraid to face and explore truly dark themes, and to plunge forward with or without a lantern, so to speak. I discovered her writing when I first started reading a song of ice and fire fic, promptly devoured all of it (there are hundreds) and even crossed into the mad max fury road fandom so I could read those fics too. it was worth it. my God was it worth it. 

audreyii_fic – lbr I’ll read anything she writes. lokane? check. lokane crack? check check. I think I joined the reylo ship because she was writing about it on her blog, and I also think I ended up watching doctor who because of her fondness for it. I’ve read just about every fandom she writes in, even the ones I have no idea what’s going on. there’s just a really particular blend of angst, and darkness, and off the deep end hilarity that I adore. she’s also the person I break my no au rule for– usually I only read in universe fics, but for this writer i’m like nope. college au? I’m there. steampunk au. perfect. a/b/o reylo fic with apps and emoji? glued to it. 

C: What member do you identify with most?

I’m feeling like by member it’s asking for which character? 

Tricky question. Would it be a cop out to say Elena? I spend so much time in her head, and I relate hard to her family first mentality. Also to her Sad Girl™ attitude. 

K: What’s the angstiest idea you’ve ever come up with?

Somehow I knew this was going to get asked, and the answer is still the original ending for Fairytale Ending, which was just like. game over, man. game over. so, since I still can’t talk about that because nothing is to say I’m not using elements of that ending in earlier portions of the fic… and of course, FE is just unrelentingly dark for a long time. 

How about instead I pull some from the list of other fics? 

The Last Time is pretty frickin angsty– I reread that the other day after someone commented on it, and the whole thing where Klaus and Elena almost get together in the swimming pool, after years and years of these loaded encounters, only for her to die tragically young (after vowing she would be the one to break the curse!) always gets me. 

One of the fics I want to write when I wrap FE is overall a very sad fic, but it’s more of a mellow depressing journey than like, getting stabbed with an angst shiv. It’s the fic where Klaus and Elena meet not in 2010, but later, like, in 2020 in New York– and the twist is he doesn’t recognize her. It’s going to be my take on the Very Unhappy But in a Muted I’m Not a Kid Anymore type of fic I mentioned loving earlier. My take on the kind of love story Klaus and Elena might have had if circumstances were different.

Shitposting and Dada

I discussed briefly in my project statement how I sense a certain lack of ambition and that I enjoy and produce work that is often of low-effort and low-quality, and in the previous semester I intended to sort of trick the examiners into giving me a better mark by overloading them with a quantity of work, trying to sort of test the ‘quality ≠ quantity’ saying. This method of producing work is quite like another of my favourite pastimes, the online behaviour of shitposting.

As vast as its internet domain, shitposting can take up a myriad of different forms on different forums, but a generally agreed definition is ‘posting large amounts of content "aggressively, ironically, and of trollishly poor quality” to an online forum or social network,’. Usually this is in order to derail otherwise orderly online discussions or alternately to bastardize a site to its regular visitors. Its usage dates to the early 00’s under the influence of niche online forums and imageboards, in which comment threads were often derailed from discussion by anonymous users either adding unconstructive posts out of ignorance or malicious intent. The resulting environment of chaotic misuse it results in is commonly referred to as ‘cancer’ (highlighting just how seriously an issue it is thought to be).

From its initial days as a minor annoyance on obscure online sump, shitposting has since changed into a much more mainstream culturally practice, especially in the intersection between internet trolling and politics. With its ability to aggravate, avert information, and overload systems, shitposting has fit well into the maddening expanse of contemporary politics and its sensationalist coverage, its first prominence being in the 2016 United States presidential race among examples of other radicalised internet phenomena—such as the appropriated mascot Pepe the Frog who has his own shitposted legacy—where the internet-savvy right-wing circles used memes as a new age propaganda machine to entertain its recruits and alienate its enemies through a stream of coded slang and images pumped out at a perpetual speed.

A most extreme and unfortunate example of the extent of the radicalization shitposting can cause is the 2019 Christchurch shooting in which an ethno-nationalist terrorist livestreamed his attack on Facebook and released a 74-page manifesto publicly on Twitter and imageboard 8chan as well as being sent directly to more than 30 recipients including multiple media companies and the New Zealand prime ministers office. The manifesto was allegedly littered with multiple memes including references to video game Fortnite, YouTube personality and alt-right running dog PewDiePie, and the classic Navy Seal copypasta, as well as alt-right associated meme and Serbian anti-Muslim turbo-folk song commonly referred to as Remove Kebab, paired with the method of distribution the manifesto could be seen as a most radical version of shitposting, intended to throw out morsels of the shooters philosophy to confuse outsiders and tempt those who might sympathise.

But shitpostings use is not exclusive to the political-right, as left-identifying groups have also used it for their own advancement, such as Facebook group New Urbanist Memes for Transit-Oriented Teens with over 175,000 members who produce and exchange memes and general discourse related to environmentally friendly and socially accommodating urban design schemes and transport reform, whose impact has seen 2020 United States presidential candidate Bernie Sanders become a member and supporter. Shitposting and trolling has even cropped up in the UK political scene, with current Liberal Democrat party leader Jo Swinson having to explicitly state that she does not murder squirrels after a fake screenshot of a news article saying so began circling Twitter.

With its relation to the fake news phenomenon and the post-truth environment, shitposting has found a comfortable place in the current political climate, but for my own sake I have to ask; how does it relate to art. Surprisingly, shitposting—while not in its current form—was very crucial to art history. The conceptual elements of shitposting, its ideas of producing an output of notably low effort, with enough capability to rise reactions from those lacking in acumen, and then continue to overwhelm the viewers by reproducing the same min-effort/max-impact work are comparable to the pursuits of the Dada movement. With its lack of principles, no cohesive aesthetic, and overt anti-normality take on making art, Dada holds many similarities with shitposting. Even contextually they are somewhat parallel, with the birth of Dada spewed from the loins of a WWI-era Europe in which class divisions widened between the uppers who were protected and profiteered from the war and the working class who suffered financially and psychological from its first-hand effects, paired with a spike in nationalism and a deduction in perceived human rights it was the turmoil and the bastardizations of the modern human society that spurred the reflective works of Dada, in essence producing shit art for a shit period. Whilst lacking in the same kind of industrialised killings of a World War, today’s society can be seen as comparable to the same conditions Dada was born under, a sharp rise in nationalism broaching into outright fascism in many places; a correlating increase in alienated peoples changing the other side of the political pendulum; governments which actively undermine their own people for financial gain (as if that’s anything new); consequences from governments decades past haunting marginalised communities and countries; a revolt every other day in every other country; an alphabet or damaging ‘-isms’ and ‘-phobias’; and a general feeling of slow and sinking madness infecting society, it’s easy to see why such absurdist practices as shitposting were born.

It’s easy to see certain similarities, even in famous—or infamous—examples such as Marcel Duchamp’s Fountain (1917) which was sent to a gallery exhibition as an absurdist remark on arts dichotomy between the aesthetic and the conceptual, the ceramic shitpost (or rather pisspost) of an overturned urinal embodied the same attitude as a modern shitposts, irritating to any traditionalist constant, and amusing to those who either don’t understand it or do. Shitposting is an effective way to overturn expectations and subvert opinions. Even the way it spread so suddenly, with a rise and fall caught in six years in over ten countries across the globe mimics the viral sensationalism of internet trends, rising to a global impact to suddenly deconstruct itself through saturation.

Both subjects were also entwined with the political game, with Dada practically challenging any traditionalist view it could, condemning the rising nationalist tendencies and capitalist fervour of societal ‘progress’, found especially amongst the Berlin group. Under the depression of the Weimar republic and the following rise in oppression by the Nazi party, German Dadaists continued their absurd political communication and activities through art, with their efforts corralled in with other morally objectionable art labelled as ‘degenerate’—a word that has also found relevance amongst certain shitposters—they rebelled nonetheless, with artist John Heartfield even sending postcards of his work directly to Nazi leaders, a literal shitpost.

However, just as concept and context can be applied, so can criticism to both subjects. Some art historians have noted Dadas perverse relationship with race, with a streak of using racially charged language an imagery with little to know relation or appreciation for other races, especially that of Africans with prominent member George Grosz often performing a minstrel show at the movements epicentre the Cabaret Voltaire and the Incoherents Paul Bilhaud painting an all-black work titled Combat de Nègres dans un Tunnel (Negroes Fighting in a Tunnel by Night, 1882). Paired with a fetishization of racial others as ‘primitive’ Dada had problematic effects, much like shitposting which, as previously discussed, has become lumped in with the narrative of deplorability within right-wing margins, and later majorities. However, from personal experience I have seen just as much shitposting from left-wing sources as right-wing, because it lacks any concrete coding and has evolved from mindless pastime to activist tool, but there are obvious questions on whether politics should be taken in such a Dada direction, whether it’s anti-sense sensibilities will reduce politics to further churlishness that it already is, whether elections will do away with voting systems for a game of ‘how many memes can either side send’.

I’m not here to concern myself with the politics of shitposting, I’m studying this topic from a sincerity past politics and into a wider philosophical scope. I love shitposting, the anonymous nature of the internet lets me crawl into someone else’s life, sew whatever discourse or confusion I can and then promptly leave, like a stray rat running across a kitchen floor only to never be seen again, moved on to another person’s virtual kitchen. However just as a rat searches for food, I search for shitposting grounds that are comfortable to me, things that I care about or have some sort of personal opinion on, things like euthanasia, suicide, societal expectations, abortions, issues on morality, art, and other various philosophical conundrums that I am slowly devolving. In some cases, I think it’s the most earnest thing one can do, to laugh into the void as it were and generate absurdist rebellion to normality that’ll upset its balance. I even think it has practical applications, take into consideration the increase in targeted advertising algorithms, in which websites and apps hijack personal information you send or even speak privately to sell you products. But by streaming false or flagrantly inflated information instead it is possible to confuse and disrupt the targeting algorithms, a small rebellion against corporate injustice. Some may call it sadistic, or sociopathic, or just plain sad to deliberately seek and produce such effortless and meaningless content, but I see it to hone my ideological axe, to build my ideas into more concrete forms. Paired with the previously mentioned anti-normality connotations with the Dada movement, and the current cultural relevance of it, I think the philosophical implications behind shitposting are essential to my current work and I will continue to take inspiration from it.

The Simpsons has been a cultural phenomenon since its first episode in December of 1989. Days later, Akira premiered in the United States. Coincidence? Almost definitely. But what happens when you combine the irreverent characters of The Simpsons with the passionate fans and community of anime lovers?

Well, probably something like the @WeebSimpsons twitter account. With 35k+ followers, the account goes above and beyond to inject anime, Japanese culture, gaming and more into the town of Springfield. Learn what goes on behind the scenes in our interview with the person behind the account, Alex Kazanas.

Which did you start watching first - anime or The Simpsons?

This one’s a bit tough! I started watching The Simpsons when I was a young’un, around season 1 or 2. I would’ve been 4 or 5 years old at the time. Although before then I had also been watching shows on Nick Jr. like Maya the Bee and Noozles – children’s cartoons that I had no idea were from Japan. The first time I watched anime and was cognizant of where it came from was in 1996, when Dragon Ball Z was airing on UPN at 6:00 a.m. Basically, if cultural awareness is a factor, The Simpsons. If not, anime.

Where did the initial concept for the account come from?

I can’t take complete credit - I have some friends who share the same love for both anime and The Simpsons that helped me conceive the premise. We quote The Simpsons ad nauseum so when we all get together it usually gets out of hand and goes to weird places. Last year during Otakon I was just getting over bronchitis, so my voice was ripe to do impressions of the Bouvier Sisters. And the theme of the weekend became “what if Patty and Selma only played Japanese video games.” It’s super funny to imagine Patty and Selma talk about Doki Doki Panic, so naturally our conversations about this heightened to the point where the rest of Springfield was equally obsessed with all things Japan. It was wildly stupid from the start and never let up. I didn’t put the twitter account into practice until a month or so later because I was trying to figure out whether to use image macros or do voice impressions. I obviously chose the easier, less time-consuming method.

Did you anticipate your account would grow so much?

Not really! I knew it was a good idea and kinda hoped it’d be regarded as well as accounts like @simpsons_vids or @simpsonsfilms, but didn’t have high expectations. After posting three entries on a September afternoon it took Anime Twitter by storm in a matter of hours. Later that night, I was having drinks with friends who had bets running to see at what time I would gain 5,000 followers. It was surreal.

You incorporate all sorts of media into your posts - anime, video games and fan culture included. Do you find that certain topics lend themselves better to Simpsons-style jokes?

Nah – I sometimes just go right for the deep weeb cut. It doesn’t matter what they’re talking about as long as it’s written in character. It’s gotten to the point where I reserve certain characters for certain topics. Patty and Selma love JRPGs. Lou is a big Gundam nut. Captain McCallister will only talk about One Piece. I’ve created my own little Weeb Springfield canon based on what I want to hear them talk about. And even if the cut is super deep, at least one person will fully appreciate it, and the rest will still dig it because they can actually hear the denizens of Springfield saying these things.

What would you say is the hardest part about running a popular twitter account?

Having way more followers than my default account! I’d love to be able to spread that follower wealth and plug the other stuff I do in my spare time, but I’m pretty committed to keeping WeebSimpsons its own entity.

You’re combining two very passionate fandoms, have you noticed any characters or shows that fans react to the most?

My Hero Academia is the new hotness right now, so those entries are quite popular. Character-wise, any entry with Sideshow Bob. Everyone knows a vocal purist so he’s a pretty easy character to relate to. I’ve noticed my followers have coined a pretty clever nickname for him: “WeeaBob.” I love it.

Principal Skinner’s popularity due to the Steamed Hams scene from “22 Short Films About Springfield” becoming a meme in of itself have made Skinner quite popular. I did a 5-parter about Skinner, Edna Krabappel, and streaming services that was well-received. I call it “The Streamed Hams Arc” behind the scenes.

One of the interesting things about your account is how you poke fun at the industry - such as Crunchyroll - through the lens of the characters. Did you ever think you’d be getting interviewed by them?

Haha, nope! Never crossed my mind. I will say that any ribbing/dunking is meant as playful and comes from the character’s mouths, not mine. It’s pretty rare that I’ll insert my own opinions (but not completely out of the question).

Have you watched all of the shows and games that you reference? Or do you take fan suggestions?

Haha, no way! Imagine if I had all that time. I have a day job! I do know enough about what I reference to make any entry make sense, and I’ll do a bit of research on topics that I have no idea about. Though I do think that having this account has made me dive back into my weeb roots – I’m watching more anime now than I have in the past ten years!

As far as fan suggestions go, I don’t use a lot of the ones I get because most are an actual Simpsons quote with an anime or manga substituted for a word. I write these tweets as if they were a niche spec script. The funniest part about the account to me is hearing these characters talk about Yatterman, Tora-san, or pachinko on their own, as if it’s the norm in Springfield. That being said, there are three entries (as of this interview) that have been ghostwritten by friends of mine. See if you can spot them!

What would you say are your most unconventional anime and/or Simpsons opinions?

Haha, I hope I don’t lose followers for this. I’m not the biggest fan of Evangelion. I like it enough for what it is and what it’s done for its genre, but it’s not my favorite. As far as Simpsons opinions go, I don’t think “Last Exit to Springfield” is as great as everyone else does. It’s a good one, but wouldn’t crack my top 10.

The Simpsons has done several anime tributes and references in the past. Have you ever found yourself in the position of “The Simpsons did it” when creating content?

I think the closest example I can think of is the episode “Thirty Minutes Over Tokyo,” where the Simpson family visits Japan. It’s full of cultural references but there’s a line where Homer complains about his role in a kabuki play about the 47 Ronin (“I wanted to be Yoshi, but they made me Ori!”). That single line is more or less a WeebSimpsons entry. With the exception that I would do research to make sure those names are accurate.

  Do your friends or family know that you run @WeebSimpsons?

Yeah, a handful of my friends know about it. Co-workers too. My family has no idea and I doubt they would care that much, unless it paid the big bucks.

Who is best Simpsons girl?

I wanna say Selma because I love her a lot and she’s a blast to write entries for, but I’m gonna say Marge. A sweet, well-meaning, wet-blanket of a mom. Whenever she says something corny while trying her hardest to be a cool mom, I find it really endearing. It’s always nice when the rest of the family turns to her for support. Even Lisa, the voice of reason, needs a warm hug from mom and a pep talk every now and again.

Donuts with Homer or Ramen with Naruto?

Donuts with Homer. I’d throw in a little weeb action though – we’d go to Mister Donut! That’s not to say ramen with Naruto wouldn’t be completely out of the question- someone whose son is also named Bort can’t be all bad.
