nobody ever really has a plan to date a mafia member, especially not one of the most unusual karasuno clan men. his angelic face, childish demeanour and shorter stature in comparison to other members usually deceived rivals. it was also no surprise that hinata shouyou had stolen many hearts in his lifetime but he truly felt like everything was different with you. you weren’t scared of his job, you had become well liked by most members in fact, you didn’t just see him in the innocent boyish way that others did nor did you treat him as such.

you knew what he did for work of course, your family were under the impression that he was just a well-respected police officer and they didn’t ask many questions regarding it. the unknown factors for you were what he did when he disappeared for weeks at a time to complete missions - not that you were particularly keen to know. although every time that he does come home, you still feel the nervous butterflies that you had felt all those years ago. the two of you were months away from getting married in the autumn, the colour palette would compliment hinata’s hair according to your mother.

despite the unknown in your relationship, you were at your happiest with him. you loved the way he made you feel special and showed you off to his other clan members. you took pride in dressing up and attending expensive balls and banquets with him. you couldn’t get enough of the sight of him in tailored suits with a pretty gun clinging to his side - the thought made heat pool between your thighs. likewise, shouyou loved the way you saw him as a man yet still let him indulge in his more energetic side. he also took pride in bragging about you and how lucky he is to have fallen in love with such a gorgeous woman. he couldn’t get enough of all of you no matter if you had just woken up, were getting dressed up to go out or were sprawled across the bed.

hinata may come across as a person that rarely let their anger show, he only really let it show when the situation called for it but even then he tried his best to shield you from it. even when a member from a rival mafia had started to get a bit too close to you, especially after you had told him that you weren’t interested, he still made sure you didn’t witness anything unnecessary. you had been escorted to the car by one of the taller raven haired men whilst shouyou “dealt with the issue.” when he returned, there were faint specks of blood adorning his shirt but you chose to ignore it and instead thanked him for keeping you safe. he returned a smile and gripped you close to his chest, desperate to feel your warmth. he couldn’t stand the thought of anybody but him looking at you the way he did and you knew that, yet he still felt like he needed to apologise for lashing out like that. you reassured him it was okay and tried to stop his tears of realisation - a sight you rarely saw.

despite the dangers of dating a mafia member, you truly felt at your safest with him.
