And while I'm on the topic! I'm still grappling with the decision to take away certain plot points for Netflix's Atla.

Like I understand combining certain plots, streamlining them into one place *cough* omashu *cough* and introducing fan favorites and plots from later seasons earlier on into season one. (i.e. azula, spirits, oma and shu)

I even understand cutting some plots! I, unlike a lot of people, figures they were going to at least cut down the pirates plot, obviously no great divide, probably no bato, and had made peace that certain nuances and characters were going to be lost in favor of fight scenes. But to lose Jeong-Jeong????

An entire episode directly related to Aang being reluctant to learn other bending techniques (specifically fire!), Burning Katara, and her finding out her great ability to heal. And! A wonderful commentary on the division and destruction of war, how fire nation propoganda hurts everyone, even those in the fire nation. Just gone???

It is really frustrating and confusing to me, especially in a season where Aang doesn't bend any other element at all outside of the avatar state. Wouldn't it make sense to have this episode to re-establish the insicurity that Anng has in regaurd to how strong his powers are? That he has a proclivity to be destructive with any bending he has not mastered and doubling down on his reluctance to learn other types??? Idk just food for thought.

While there's quite a few changes in the live action atla that I have thoughts and opinions on, good and bad, one that's very simple but makes me very confused is why Katara's necklace isn't mentioned at all the whole season???

Like it's definitely a part of a bigger issue of taking away Katara's anger about her mother's death and making her more mellow, but still. It would have only taken her mentioning it like once or twice and then Paku talking about it and I would've been ok, but they don't? Even though it's a kinda of a big deal in the original season but it's, relatively speaking, a small detail, I don't understand why they would leave out.

As I'm sitting here at 12 am eastern all I can think about is how the Atla live action is going to pace the show??? Like they only got 8 eps and even at 45+ mins each ep idk how they're going to fit so many arcs into those episodes? Like how will they combine them. What storylines get the boot? Bato? Solstice? The Storm?!?! (Cause that's one of my fav episodes ever, idk if I could live without it) I'll know tomorrow but I still so curious.

I would say that I can't believe that neither Margot Robbie nor Gretta Gerwig got nominated for Barbie but Ken did, twice. Except that's just the most believeable, unfair, ironic thing to happen and it's so upsetting. It is literally proving the point of the Barbie movie by being a prime example of how women, their accomplishments, their passions are categorically ignored in favor of their male counterparts. (And don't even get me started on how the academy went absolutely crazy over Oppenheimer and didn't snub it once on any of their categories even though barbie was the larger movie both economically and socially)

I can't get this idea out if my stupid head, but it keeps rattling round in there. If (and only if!) Lucy Gray was still alive by the time of the 75th games, and if she could possibly make her way back to 12/ know of what's going on with the games and Katniss (cause ain't no way she'd stick around 12 after everything that happened), what would she do?

Like would she volunteer? What chaos would that entail??? Like I keep running that scenario in my head. And the games??? Wtf would they do with that???? Who would live, die, and make aliances with her? Would Peeta volunteer for Haymich?! How would she and Mags get along? Would she sing??!?! So many questions for my stupid hypothetical.
