I love it so much when cartoon villains are like, "horrid greetings, your vile wretchedness," or "foul morning," "disgusting evening," "wicked nightmares," "sleep abominably, and bite the bed-bugs back" instead of normal salutations

It's "glode," and anything different is unacceptable. On a serious note, it's quite the opposite for me. I will probably never get Laid vs Layed correct. I would probably be that reader thinking the author is "stupid", meanwhile my own writing would say: "She glode across the hardwood floor and then laid down." Now, I edit my writing very thoroughly, but I make no promises with Laid vs Layed. Only time I will get it correct is when it's an accident.

Oh the dread. Call it innocence. Call it being blissfully unaware. The plot holes are many, and they be coming. I like to think as my job being learning how to invent convincing lies on command while bullshitting my way through a story that would otherwise not make sense without the literary smoke and mirrors, so to speak. Also, learning how to distract your readers from the leftover plotholes (since every writer has them) and to bring out that oh-so-sweet "Suspension of Disbelief".

Navigating plot holes can get much more chaotic if you're writing fanfiction. You're not only juggling your own plot holes, but the plot holes of the OG author. Fun shit, that is. At least if canon compliance is your jam in the moment.

I just found out Akira Toriyama passed away at the beginning of the month. He's one of the big reasons I learned to draw in the first place.

These are all photos of referenced pencil shadings and pen sketches I did several years ago, all signed with my trans-name. Vegeta's signed with my author logo, since I had just created the pen-name back then. The Gohan pencilwork is my fanart of someone's fanart.

I output tons of DBZ fanart ever since I was in school, both referenced and made up, and I had adopted a project of drawing the entire DB manga by hand before the RSI got so bad in both my hands that I couldn't continue.

Rest in peace to the master! This is incredibly sad. I may be a Potterhead mostly now, but his work comprised a huge part of my life, it influenced me heavily, and I still remember the first time I saw Goku on Cartoon Network when I was 7.

you don't know how impactful your writing is because it's been in your brain for far too long now. you've stared at it for hours and repeated "this sucks" over and over again to the point that you killed your capacity to feel anything about your work.

but trust me, once you get your shit out there, someone's gonna go over that paragraph you hate and go "jesus fucking christ" and put the book down to have an existential crisis.
