I don't know if you like games, but i was just looking through steam and saw one called 'The Pale Beyond' about surviving a polar expedition. i haven't tried it, but it looks promising and seemed your sort of thing.

The cold and its blizzarding sensation surrounds me.

The trail and its surroundings began to burn brighter.

As blue as the overshadowed blizzard, the fire raged.

The grass needles from which rested above the soil of the trail, shrivelled.

I met your family, while you were away. I thought they would know, but never mind that.

When my work ends, I am welcome by the silence of our home.

One room I am prohibited from. The one room that cries at night, and slumbers at sun wake.

If you let me sit in the dark with you, even that is enough. I will forfeit all my hardship to burn with you.

I wish you could see my truth more clearly.

Oblivion forsakes, and encircles. Oh, I so wish not to be widowed by the voices of your past.

Love, I am here. The day you come out, the day I see your beautiful face again, we will see a light greater than the sun.

But I was too late. The trail was lost. I became the widow.

You burned. I froze. We died contrary to each other, but ended up as lost as one another in the end.

I wrote this by inheriting the perspective of a powerless lover, who’s partner is burdened by C-ptsd.

This text is an allegory, in and amongst the many metaphors. Cliche, unjust, or otherwise… All I know is that I enjoyed writing it. It flowed, and flowed; I hope it doesn’t drown those who read.
