To everything, there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven (Ecclesiastes 3:1)
Our entire life is measured by time. Your success and achievement are directly proportional to the time invested therein. To the one that is a medical doctor, for instance, it means that he has invested 5 or 6 years of his time in learning and acquiring knowledge to practice as a medical doctor. It, therefore, means that he traded time for the skill.
We have a period here on earth to fulfill our purpose. It would be suicidal to attempt to waste it for we have but one life.

Try as much as you can to always engage yourself with profitable discussion, and not involve yourself with gossip. David knew the importance of understanding the value of time which made him pray to God on behalf of the people he was ruling. He prayed in this manner, Father, 'Teach us to number our days so we may apply our heart unto wisdom" (Psalm 90:12). This prayer means that God should teach us how to have plans for our lives and work towards achieving them.

*What It Takes To Be Successful*
Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterward, build thine house (Proverb 24:27).
Most people if they ask this question, 'What does it take to be successful?' There will be expecting to hear a simple and straightforward answer "It's faith, its prayer, it's hard work, etc'. The hard truth is that one or two virtue alone can't make you successful, in most cases you need all of them. Faith, Prayers, and Hard Work are the principal but you need to add virtues if you want to be successful. And that is why the Bible says, 'And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue;...(2Peter 1:5).

They are no shortcuts, the journey to success is a hard and lonely one. They will come to a point where you have to choose whether to quit or continue, but whichever one you choose, both hurt. Jesus speaking, 'Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it (Matthew 7:14)
You need all these virtues if you have chosen the part of true success. You need Discipline, perseverance, commitment, the right attitude, strong character, good human relations, right knowledge, prudence, integrity, etc. You need all of them to be successful.

Thanksgiving is the attitude of a productive life. No duty is more urgent than that of returning thanks. William Ward spoke wisely, 'There are three enemies of personal peace: regret over yesterday's mistakes, anxiety over tomorrow's problems and ingratitude for today's blessing'. The person who isn't thankful for what he has isn't like to be thankful for what he's going to get. Ingratitude never ends.
Know that you are blessed. If you can't be satisfied with what you've reached, be thankful for what you've escaped. For example, no matter the kind of house you are staying in at the moment, you will not prefer it to the best hospital in your city.
Giving thanks to God brings about multiplication. Jesus when given five loaves of bread and two fishes to feed five thousand men never complained, instead He gave thanks and a miracle happened. The miracle transpired because He gave thanks.
Ingratitude blinds one's eyes from seeing what he has, even when the answers to his prayers are in what he has.
