Gwyn exchanged a silent look with Azriel, watching his shadows come and go as they spoke. He looked just as tired as she felt. She couldn’t help the pang of guilt she felt thinking it was her who robbed him of the little sleep he could have had after long hours of dealing with his spies and looking through stacks of information they’d found for something—anything—to set a lead to follow.  But her nightmares held him awake just as they did her.  He’d offered to listen every time she regained hold of herself in wake of Koschei’s stare. He’d held her until the shivers ended and her breath became even. He’d asked her to tell him about it, to share the demons haunting her.  Gwyn did. Each night, she named them, speaking in hope to tame them.  After all, processing the past was a burden of the present. And when Azriel held her, Gwyn could trust she’d never need to deal with them alone in the future.
