Emerie winning the blood rite and becoming Carynthian is actually the most important thing to happen in the Acotar series .

Emerie an Illyrian woman that had her wings clipped by her abusive father. A father that made Emerie dig her own mothers grave after he beat her to death. And later beat Emerie so bad that he broke her back.

Emerie who originally joined training to spite her abusive father. Then continued to train for months while simultaneously running her own business. And having to deal with family members harassing her.

Emerie was kidnapped from her own bed and forced to compete in a death tournament. Yet still managed to win the entire thing. Being the first Illyrian woman to do so.

And that was just in one book! Imagine where she’ll be by the end of the series.

Rhys being protective of Gwyn just melts my heart because there’s a reason he’s so protective and it’s because he relates to what she’s been through and knows what trauma like that does to someone. And now it’s making me want to see more Rhys x Gwyn sibling-like interactions. Kinda like Azriel x Nesta and Feyre x Cassian.

Like just imagine Rhys randomly appearing at Valkyrie training one day and Gwyn is challenging Azriel to a duel. Rhys watches in disbelief because he’s never seen someone that doesn’t know Azriel for long challenge him like that. And then Rhys sees how far Gwyn has come and it makes him so happy, he tells Gwyn all of Azriels weaknesses and cheers her on just to piss Az off and Gwyn is loving every second of it…

Ok, so i am pretty sure I just got blocked for bringing this up to a gwynriel, but why does everyone think that Gwyn or even the valkyries are gonna be involved with the Koschei storyline? Like has everyone forgotten about Vassa? She is literally still cursed by Koschei. And she is tied to Lucien, who is the son of a curse breaker. Can everyone else see the vision of them and how they can help the inner circle defeat Koschei? Imagine, Elain is Made and helps Nesta and Az with all this trove stuff and finding Koschei and all that. Elain and Az grow closer and choose each other but she has to do something about her bond with Lucien, real or not, they have to answer to it. They both agree to reject it and he goes back to Vassa and Jurian. This would leave it open for Lucien and Vassa to be together because he obviously has a better time with her already. This would allow the inner circle, now complete with the 3 brothers x 3 sisters, to work with Lucien and Vassa, who has every right to be the first one to fight Koschei (its for her freedom, hello?!). Like, bringing in just Gwyn and Emerie literally makes no sense when you think about the acowar and everything. And with everything that we learned in hofas, its obvious that shes setting up elriel, which would set up vassien. I just don't see how the valkyries fit it as main characters for the next books. Call me crazy or whatever, but I choose to remember the first 4 books in the series, not just silver flames.

I don't know, am I crazy? lol

Am I not understanding the story i've loved so much for nearly 10 years now?

Imagine how much the Valkyries are teasing Azriel, who is brooding over his lost dagger.

Just had a hilarious idea for a fic that I'll probably never write but here goes...

Nesta, Gwyn and Emerie take a business class together their senior year and as a group project they have to create a viable business plan with budgets and projections, the works

As a joke, they decide to do a topless maid service but, after researching and looking at the numbers, they realize they could actually potentially make a lot of money at not a lot of expense and in order to open the book shop they eventually want to own, they'll need a lot of capitol and preferably not to be bogged down with loans so they decide to give it a go

Cassian is one of their first clients (because of course he is) and the tension between him and Nesta is 🔥. So Cassian makes a contract exclusively with Nesta which brings them all a steady stream of income so they agree

After hearing the story from Cass, Mor calls in out of curiosity and when Emerie shows up, she too draws up a contract.

Then there's Az. He hasn't heard about this particular service yet but his mom just called saying she got some vacation time and is coming to visit and oh my god his house is a mess. He needs it cleaned ASAP but he's too busy with work. Cassian, being the 'good friend' that he is, gives Az the girls' contact info

"They do some truly amazing work" he says. But of course leaves out some pertinent information

They have some punny name that doesn't immediately make it obvious their services are unique so though Az balks a little at the price Nesta quotes him, he knows it last minute and he's desperate. He agrees.

"Just so you know, I work from home, so I'll be there working in my office. I hope that's ok."

Nesta is confused because usually the whole point of these services is to be seen but "Yeah, of course it's ok"

I'm sure you can see where this is going

Nesta and Emerie have exclusive contracts so Gwyn is up. Az is a little confused when she shows up in a tank and tiny shorts but whatever, Cass said they do good work. He lets her in and is alarmed when, after explaining what all he needs done, she starts stripping...

Flying over the battlefield on your pegasus, you had taken to the skies along with the rest of the Valkyries to battle Koschei’s baitals. He’d sent the vampiric creatures as reinforcements among his air forces, the bony monsters searching the grounds below for dying bodies to possess on the battlegrounds. 

An ear-piercing shriek echoed through the air as you cut down a baital, watching as its lifeless body fell to the ground. What you saw below caused you to do a double-take - Helion was battling off four soldiers as he clutched a wound on his side, another baital circling above him, waiting for him to be struck dead. The scene shot horror through you, and without thinking you steered your pegasus toward the ground. 

You leapt off the steed to allow it time to swoop back up to the skies, and you rolled gracefully to land on the ground. Your eyes scanned the line of soldiers ahead of you as you drew up your sword in defense. Charging through the battlefield, your focus was only on getting to Helion by whatever means necessary. 

You could not afford the time to think of what might happen to your mate - the beautiful and kind male fighting bravely ahead of you - if he did not make it out of this battle before you confessed your feelings for him. You had known that Helion was your mate since the first time you met him, when the Valkyries began training with his pegasus.

You fell for him quickly, his playful and joyous nature bringing a light to your life you didn’t realize you had needed - and you watched as the sun to your moon began to fade. 

With a scream of fury, you unleashed yourself upon the soldiers, leaping into the air with a supernatural strength to cut down the baital that was circling overhead. You landed in front of Helion, his shocked eyes focused on you as you checked his wound. You panted out, “we have to get you to a healer, Li,” just in time for him to look behind you, pure fear flashing across his features.

You turned, seeing only a blur of a creature aiming an ash arrow at Helion before you dove in front of him, a searing pain permeating through your body as though it coursed through every vein. A single tear fell from your cheek as Helion caught you, his eyes lining with tears while he held your head in his broad hand and whispered, “why?”

The last words you were able to breathe out as you held your hand to Helion’s cheek were, “my mate,” before the world faded to black.

Your pegasus had never kicked you in the head, but you imagined that how you currently felt would be quite a similar feeling. Overcome with thirst and an aching body all over, you groaned at the pain that accompanied merely attempting to open your eyes. 

You could feel the soft mattress beneath you, silk sheets cool against your stiff muscles as you further awoke from what must have been a deep sleep. Shock overtook your system as you recalled your latest memories of the battlefield and Helion being in danger, and you jolted upright with panic. 

Your body did not respond well to the sudden movement, and you yelled out in pain as a blinding pain in your ribs took your breath away. The sound of someone fumbling awake accompanied your gasps for air, and suddenly familiar warm hands were on your back and chest, easing you to lay back down on the mattress.

You looked up to see Helion in a state of disarray you could never have imagined for him, and your heart ached seeing him in pain. You tried to croak out words, choking on the dryness of your throat. Helion quickly grabbed you water, gently propping you up against the pillows as he helped you drink until you were satisfied. 

Before you could attempt to get out the words you wanted to, however, Helion took your hand in his and squeezed, taking a deep breath as he seemed to struggle for words since the first time you had met him. Without words from him, you felt his emotions as though they were your own, and you realized - you were feeling him through the bond. 

He must have sensed your emotions as well, his eyes showing a glimmer of hope that had been missing since you’d awoken. He brought your hand to his lips and kissed it. “My mate,” Helion whispered as he stared at you in adoration. “I’ve always been awed by you, but I wouldn’t have dreamed to have been blessed to have a female like you as my mate until the bond snapped for me, when you-“ 

His voice broke off then, the unspoken weight of your sacrifice hanging in the air. You tilted Helion’s face to look at you as you admired his beauty. “Li, I would give my life for yours a thousand times over. I was lucky to be blessed with you as my mate, but you are so much more than that to me. You are a great male, a great leader, and you make the world a better place. I love you, not because you are my mate, but because you are you, Li.”

A tear made its way down Helion’s cheek at your words, and he laughed as he leaned down to kiss you gently, mindful of your injuries. Bending down to nip at your ear, Helion practically growled as he whispered, “heal quickly, my love, because I have a list of ways I will replace your pain with pleasure... for the rest of our lives.” You giggled at that, happy that your mate was feeling his flirtatious self again, and that you would spend the rest of your days with the one person who brought you the most joy.

I wonder if the bond will snap into place first for Gwyn instead of Az. I need that actually. Gwyn knowing about the bond but keeping it a secret because she believes that Azriel wouldn't want the bond or he is clueless and she knows this.

So when Azriel starts to develop feelings for Gwyn, it's genuine love he feels and not the desperation of wanting a mating bond that he felt in his bonus chapter. And by the time he is completely in love with Gwyn, the bond snaps into place for him and it shocks him but doesn't surprise him because regardless of whether they were mates or not, it doesn't change how much he loves Gwyn. It's only an added bonus at that point.

And when Gwyn reveals that she already knew and kept it from him because she was scared, he holds her close and tells her that it's all going to be ok and the wait was worth it because it doesn't change his love for her anyways!!!!

Ok now I'm sobbing 😭
