Okay, this never happens. I just sat down for a solid 3 and a half hours and wrote a fic from start to end in a draft format that closely resembles mid-draft as opposed to first draft. My concentration never wavered.

some zerith headcanons just bc they're always on my mind 24/7

their first kiss happens two weeks after they meet, zack always comes by first thing in the morning to the church before his shift. he kisses her before he heads off to work as if its the most natural thing in the world. she watches him go with a blush on her face and he doesn't realize until he's outside of the steps of the church and he cant think about anything else for the rest of the day.

their first 'i love you' comes after angeal's death as she's holding him in the church as he cries. whispering soothing words into his ears.

elmyra finds out about zack not long after aerith and zack meet but aerith doesn't formally introduce the two. aerith knows she'd be pissed if her mother found out she was dating a soldier.

instead elmyra is surprised when she opens the door to her daughter's room to find the two of them taking a nap together. zack's arms holding her close to him so that she's not falling off the bed while aerith has her face burried in the crook of his neck. a part of her wants to be mad and yank the two out of the position, but another thinks about how happy she's seen her daughter look these past few months. so she closes the door and starts working on a meal for three.

the look on both zack and aerith's faces when they wake from their nap and find elmyra downstairs in the kitchen with the table set for 3 is priceless. she doesn't say so much as a "sit down" and it has zack scared out of his mind. he's fought countless monsters before but meeting his girlfriend's mom has him more nervous than any of them.

zack finds aerith has a thing for writing. it was her idea to add personal notes to the flowers they sold for a few bucks extra and sometimes he'd find little notes hidden in the pockets of his uniforms from her.

she told him that letters and writing gave emotions and feelings a sense of permanance on a piece of paper. on the same day, he wrote to his parents for the first time since he left home. detailing his adventures in soldier and his upcoming mission in nibelheim with the great war hero sephiroth (well what he could say anyway). he wrote making promises of coming home soon and bringing his girlfriend along with him.
