I will always love the way this story was portrayed. Especially the healing process between Tommy and Tubbo. I love how it wasn’t forced and there was yelling and screaming and claws with tooth and nail at each other’s throat because “talking it out” doesn’t always mean “sit in a room and be civilized and use proper words.” There was a lack of proper words and just simply a spilling of feelings and curse words of genuine anger. They didn’t forgive or apologize or properly admit they felt bad for anything they said. They just shared in the only way they knew how to and I think that has always been more characteristic than immediately sitting down and talking about their miscommunications. Sure calm and concise is always the ideal version but I’m genuinely warmed it was settled in a messier, more violent way, because it fit absolutely perfectly. They didn’t force each other to calm down, they calmed down in reaction to each other’s outburst, I loved that about this scene.

Also; the switch from using Toby and Theo to Tubbo and Tommy, mmmm making it more emotionally charged are we?

//steeples hands. okay, concerning this post i made earlier about comments i receive on my fanfic that make me feel like crap

i know a lot of readers are really shy and very scared of making the author feel negative emotions instead of positive ones, with their comments, and would rather not comment at all to avoid this altogether. im here to say noooo!!! pls comment!!! receiving no comments on a work feels bad to an author too :(((((((

but how do you comment your enthusiasm for more content in a way that wont make the author feel like a word machine?

it all comes down to this: 

write the comment in a way that respects the author as a person with a life outside of fanfic

it’s okay to comment things like “looking forward to the next chapter!” but before you say that, why not say something about the current chapter to appreciate what the author has already done? they took time out of their lives to do that, and theyll love to hear whatever you have to say. commenting on what already exists is not only respecting the author for what theyve created, but celebrating it. 

personally, it’s doesnt make me feel good when i receive comments “please continue/please update” especially if thats the only thing youre going to say. these kinds of comments gloss over everything in the fanfic that currently exists and just demands more content from the author. these are comments that treat the author as less of a real person with a real life that they must attend to, and more of your personal fanfic machine. 

respect is the key term, when it comes to all kinds of fanfic comments, but when you want more from an author, it becomes even integral.

we have lives, jobs, families, so many other things to worry about every single day. we write fanfic because it makes us happy

dont comment in a way that makes us feel like fanfic isnt a happy place anymore
