Today's theme: The symbolism of poison.

This is where the story takes a dark turn. Killing a human being with cold blood.

Ramune dies in a beautiful, shining place with full of pink colored moonlight stones. It represents his pure but later shattered soul. There's no dramatic bacground, storm, nothing. Just a majestic place with bright light.

The dark purple shading represents the symbolism of poison very well. As it the greed poisons Ham-Egg's heart and later his body.

That's why the purple colour became Ham-Egg's symbol in TPOTMS. The Tulip of Death. As you can see, the Hassarasu has purple fur color and dark purple horns:

Purple colour means toxic and posion, but magic and elegance as well. Ham-Egg wanted to be rich, and he never cared about anyone but money only. He lived and died filled with poison.

The manga is a diferent story (but I used the movie symbolism and events here).
