Is anyone else bothered by Nell’s late husband only being mentioned in passing? I need to know how the relationship influenced, or didn’t influence Nell.
Obviously in the first episode we’re meant to think she loved him since she won’t take her ring off, left her family for him, and when asked if she misses him says she’s doesn’t think he left. But I need more details.
I need more people to be watching Renegade Nell. Less because I believe it to be worth watching, though it is a very fun romp, and more because I need more people to be writing fanfiction for it.
You should watch Renegade Nell. Cuz it's awesome. And super different and original. And fun. And a girl gets to beat a lot of ass. And it's like a cowboy story set in 1700s England. And also there's magic. And it's really emotional. And you get to absolutely fall in love with Nell and her sisters Roxy and George. And it uses its historical fiction setting to make statements about class and privilege and prisons and other stuff that feels both in line with the era the story takes place in and can be applied to the modern world, but it never feels like it's shouting at you about its message. And it's an original story that isn't based on anything, isn't a reboot of anything, and we've been starving for stuff like that (especially from Disney).
never let anyone tell you that trawling through mediocre victorian poetry isn't worth it. we just happened upon an absolute BANGER of a worm poem. go read it or else 🪱🪱🪱
The shit has been lost, the freaking out has been had, hysteric laughter ensues. I am done. I give up. I will now live for tattoos, piercings, and romance novels and nothing else.
One time I ate probably way too many mushrooms and I could feel my trip going bad. So, I turned to my roommate and I said something along the lines of,
"I feel amazing but I feel like this sensation has a price and I'm about to pay it."
To which he responded, "What are you, catholic?" And that knocked me so firmly out of my mental state that the rest of the trip was hands down the best time I ever did mushrooms.
Ever since I've seen Jessica Alexander's face and how good she can do the "bitch" stare and the evil laugh, I can't imagine anyone else as Nesta Archeron.
I don’t dislike any of the bat boys but I continue to be irritated at how Rhys treats Nesta. He needs to be reminded that Nesta is 26. Does he remember what he was doing at 26? Probably off being a shithead with some random female. Nesta is trying her best he can’t be a little more understanding? What happened to the guy who was so grateful that she saved his mate and son? He just did a 180 because she took agency over items that were in her dominion of power? She isn’t recognized as the power player she is.
But the real problem is that Nesta still doesn’t feel safe and that’s heartbreaking. Cassian at least should be helping her feel safe and he isn’t. Bryce was crying! What else was Nesta going to do. She only has so much bravado to throw around and it’s not all that hard to crack. Plus Bryce is manipulative af and Nesta really isn’t. Like oddly she might be one of the least manipulative characters in this multiverse.
Feel free to point out a scene where Nesta is manipulative because I honestly can’t think of any. Which tbh is on brand for how she was raised because if you grow up manipulated at every turn the last thing you want to do is manipulate others.
It's always "Cassian should stand up for his mate" and never...
**HOFAS spoilers below**
CASSIAN IS IN A REALLY ROUGH F*CKING SPOT BC HIS MATE JUST GAVE AWAY A WEAPON OF MASS DESTRUCTION, SENDING IT INTO A WORLD WHERE THE FORMER OVERLORDS OF THEIR OWN HOME COULD EASILY GET THEIR HANDS ON IT AND COME BACK AND DESTROY EVERYTHING THEY KNOW AND LOVE. AND MAYBE HE CAN STILL BE MAD AT HIS MATE FOR DOING SO BECAUSE THAT'S HIS HOME, TOO, BUT HE ALSO STILL LOVES HER BECAUSE NUANCE EXISTS AND NESTA DIDN’T CONSULT WITH A SINGLE PERSON BEFORE CHOOSING TO DO IT.
