it had been the first christmas after the war, and fred wanted nothing more than to spend it with you.

you guys had your own flat, that you had previously decorated all by yourselves, which was different from what fred had usually done

his mother had usually used magic to hang up most things, but you two decorated the muggle way. you even made those popcorn strings, though he ate most of the popcorn

you had opened each other’s gifts at midnight, and had fell asleep together on the couch almost immediately

so, since you guys didn’t have anything to do christmas day before you headed over for dinner at his mum’s house (because no matter what, y’all always had dinner with his family), you decided to go out and find something fun to do

fred had admitted that he hadn’t ever been ice skating, and you figured it’d be the best time for him to learn how to

so, you two went, and you helped him learn to ice skate the best you could. after falling together several times, fred learned how to skate, and rather fastly, too

“i think i have a bruise on my bottom,” fred said turning around. he grabbed the back of his pants, as if he was going to pull his pants down. “wanna check?”

“fred don’t you dare!” you exclaimed with a loud laugh. “stop!”

he obviously didn’t, however you were certain he was going to

afterwards, the two of you went to go get hot chocolate, and walked around with each other

“ya know,” fred said. “i usually just stay home all christmas day.”

“me too,” you said. “it’s good to do something new.”

after finishing the hot chocolate, you guys headed back to your flat, gathering all of the presents you guys had gotten for the family. you grabbed the pie you had baked the night before, and a few of the presents.

you two had used floo powder to get to the Burrow, the dust picking up into your face slightly.

molly had immediately came to greet you two, grabbing some things out of your hands.

the rest of the day you two spent at the burrow with his family, and all in all just had a fantastic time! <3

In Love With My Best Friend (Fred Weasley X Reader)

Summary: When you realized that you have always loved George, it was already too late. Instead of being the bride, you became the bridesmaid. But it seemed like you weren’t the only one who’s in love with their best friend.

Pairing: Fred X Fem!Reader, George X Reader (unrequited love)

Warnings: angst (George getting married!) to fluff, drinking, poor writing

A/N: I was listening to “Lucky” by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat while writing this. Hope you guys would like it:)

There are always a few things in life that people just take for granted.

Like that year’s Christmas Eve at the Burrows. That night, after a few glasses of butterbeer, you fell asleep lying on George’s shoulder. His shoulders were broad and he smelled like sweet cinnamon and caramel. You just felt so warm and secure next to him. At that time, you still couldn’t understand what that warm feeling in your heart meant, but you just naively believed that this feeling of warmth and security would never go away.

You were friends with the famous Weasley twins since your first year at Hogwarts and the three of you have been best friends for about twelve years now.

But regardless of being given more than a decade, you were still stupid enough to finally realize during the war that you have always loved George. And still you did nothing after that big realization, because you were afraid that he would find you weird or feel awkward around you. You just couldn’t afford sabotaging your friendship with him.

Plus, he’s your best friend so he would always be there for you, right? You could just confess your feelings whenever you are ready. So what’s the hurry?

But life rarely goes according to people’s plans. George eventually got a girlfriend. You were sad, but you weren’t hopeless. It was not like he never had a girlfriend before. So as long as he was not married, you could still wait for him.

But then, he proposed to her.

Fred told you this news when he came to your apartment for your weekly movie night. He always knew that you fancied George, so he decided to tell you this before you hear it from George at tonight’s dinner at the Burrows.

You swore to Merlin that you heard a huge exploding sound when you heard that news, but your apartment was perfectly quiet, dead silent even.

And then you went through what the muggles called the five stages of grief.

Denial. “Ha ha ha, that’s funny Fred. You got me, that’s a good one.”

Anger. “How could him do this to me! This is so not fair! I was here first! I was here for him for twelve years! This is not fair!  I need to get him back! I don’t care if I’m gonna ruin the wedding! Fred Weasley, are you with me or not!”

Bargain. “Merlin, please! What should I do! I can trade anything for this, please!”

Depression. “Fred, I need some time alone. Oh I’m not sad…I just…I’m not crying……I’m sorry about your shirt Freddie, didn’t mean to use it as a tissue. I’ll wash it for you tomorrow.”

And finally, acceptance. “Merlin of course! I would love to be your Maid of Honor! I’m so happy for you George!”

I also found out today that Rupert Grint literally produced a song and sings so some of this is inspired by the fact that Rupert Grint can actually sing and I can’t get Ron singing out of my head. “Psst, psst,” you whispered obnoxiously, leaning over your boyfriend’s sleeping figure. His light snores continued despite your attempts to wake him up. You huffed, crossing your arms as you assessed the situation further. Ron Weasley was a notorious heavy sleeper. Honestly, the man could sleep through anything. Whenever the two of you would visit the Burrow, if you ever snuck into his room after everyone else was asleep and he was already asleep, he wouldn’t even know that you had slid into bed with him. Lucky for you though, Ron was a natural cuddler, he always had to wrap his arms around something while he slept. So, even if he didn’t know you were there, he would still cuddle you through the night.

He always did look cute while he slept, but you had plans today. The crisp autumn air swirled around outside lightly. You could only hear it rustling through the leaves of the trees left on the trees below Ron’s window. The leaves had started changing colors only a week or so prior, but they were beautiful shades of oranges, yellows, and reds.

But you couldn’t focus on the fall scenes yet, Ron was still asleep. “Ron. Rooonnnnnn,” you sang a little louder. This time, you didn’t pull away from him when he didn’t wake up yet again. You pressed your lips to his cheek. “Ron,” you cooed again, your words vibrating on his cheek as you hummed his name.
