How They Would Confess to You

hinata shouyou
Surprisingly, he didn't charge into the confession part without any preparations. Growing up with Natsu by his side, he had read an ungodly amount of fairy tales to her and he was insisting on making it a special moment for him, but especially to you, as well. He really wanted to share all the joy he was feeling whenever you two got to spend time together with you.
Soon enough he had made up his mind, after getting lots of advice from Suga and Yachi to keep him from jumping on whatever he could come up with first. Everyone could tell that something was up that day, though, because he rather kept to himself, was more lost in thought and he was even more fidgety than usual.
He pulled you aside when he was supposed to be at volleyball practice. To some degree it felt like he was about to hold an important presentation that he had rehearsed not at all and therefore, he averted his eyes from yours. Maybe he was considering running for the toilet shortly after he had spoken the first words.
“Are you ok-” - “WELL, ACTUALLY I WANTED TO TELL YOU THAT I REALLY REALLY LIKE YOU.”
His eyes were wide, his cheeks and ears were flushed and there was an insecure grin on his lips. He went on more calmly explaining exactly what he and Yachi had prepared in advance in case of him not knowing what he wanted to say. That included the fact that he had considered it for a long time but had come to the conclusion that you meant more to him than volleyball.
He was literally over the moon once he realized that you felt the same way about him - His head nearly collided with the ceiling when he jumped full force in absolute ecstasy as soon as the energy of happiness had hit him. Yachi, Suga and Kageyama were the first ones to know.
kageyama tobio
For the longest time he had zero intentions of telling you or making it public that he had somehow managed to develop romantic feelings for someone. There was volleyball, there were his studies, there was his career, way too many things on his plate for him to add another obstacle.
At some point he realized that being in a relationship didn't mean he would have more on his plate, but that he would have two more hands to help him carry the weight of it. Now, he wasn't on the stupid side, yet he had to resort to Google to find out how a confession is supposed to go as calling Oikawa was not an option.
He got flowers. He got chocolate. He even tried writing a letter. He bought a little teddy bear plushie. Thanks to all these preparations he was really confident in his plan, whether you were to say yes or no. There was no way you could say no considering these efforts. Right?
Granted, the challenging part was the talking. He tried to form coherent thoughts and sentences, but expressing emotions had never really been his forte and he was struggling quite a bit. At the end, he bowed to you in the very respectful and classic Japanese way, with his hand extended towards you.
There was a surprised spark in his eyes that immediately turned into the biggest grin when he looked up, only for it to turn into him scratching the back of his head and avoiding your glance. To be fair, he had no idea how to go from there. But he knew that he was extremely happy.
yamaguchi tadashi
To be fair, he had to fight his anxiety at first. He knew that you two were close, he knew that he wanted to be even closer to you and he knew that the worst thing that could happen was you saying no. But then there were these dark thoughts, painful remains from the trauma he had experienced when he had gotten bullied as a child, that told him that there was nothing about him someone as perfect as you could truly love.
Eventually, he asked his dad for advise on how to deal with a crush because at some point his dad must have had a crush on his mom and obviously he had been rather successful in that regard. He refused with a blush on his cheeks when his dad suggested to ask his mom as well. But she knew anyways once Tadashi snuck into the kitchen late at night to bake some cupcakes for you.
Baking simply helped him calm his nerves. And someone as sweet as you would definitely be happy about them, right? Maybe seeing your smile while eating the cupcakes would boost his confidence enough to say the mighty words he had locked inside his heart for quite some time.
At that point it had turned into an open secret that he had a crush on you. By the way his mood always brightened when you were talking to him and how easy it was to get his attention by saying as little as your name it wasn't too far-fetched to assume that he liked you.
Eventually, he kept it simple. During your little cupcake-eating-session he stumbled over his words here and there, but he suggested that the two of you could go out again. Once you had agreed, he added that he would like to call it a date. He took a huge bite of the cupcake in his hands to distract his anxiety - Sugar was a good way to keep his serotonin high.
At home he turned into a puddle on the couch in the living room and his parents assumed the worst until he could feel happy tears in his eyes and he reassured them that everything had gone just fine. Even though he nearly started crying from being so overwhelmingly glad he was beaming.
tsukishima kei
He sighed. A lot. Mostly at himself because he couldn't believe that a single human being was capable of distracting him from everything else in his life only by existing and interacting with him. It drove him beyond crazy that he had to admit at some point that he had two options: Confessing to put an end to this misery or moving across the country.
Lo and behold, he got absolutely nothing for you. He wasn't even sure what exactly he was trying to achieve by having this conversation with you because it made him rather uncomfortable having to talk about his most privat feelings.
“You might be wondering why I asked you to come here and it’s actually really stupid, so I don't want to waste our time any further. I’ve come to the realization that I have feelings for you, which is quite inconvenient to say the least. Not that you aren't a nice person, I seem to have taste, but I can't do the most mundane things anymore because you are always on my mind.”
He was about to turn around and leave before you eventually said that this was mutual. Again, he sighed. In an awkward way he asked whether you wanted to go and grab some coffee or lemonade at a cafe to talk about this. His back was straight, his posture stiff and dead silence was proof of his head trying to catch up with what had unraveled in front of him.
You had to pinky-promise that you would never say a word about the way he confessed, especially not when Kuroo was present. Or Kageyama. Or anyone for that matter. But that didn't last too long because Yamaguchi figured it out, then Yachi, then Kiyoko and well, it spread like wildfire.
When you were holding hands on your way back, he was looking anywhere but in your direction. He simply didn't know what to do. Yet, his hand was shaking slightly and that gave away his nervousness. A long sigh followed once he was home and no one was around to hear it.
ennoshita chikara
Until then, only like three people had known that he even had developed a crush on you. Was he close to Tanaka and Nishinoya? Yes. Was dealing with his own feelings a business they might get way too involved in, so he rather to Kiyoko about it? Also yes.
Internally, he was always somewhat panicking when you were around because he was worried that someone, or you for that matter, might notice how nervous he got around you and how happy it made him when you called his name. He felt invincible with you by his side and that made you so special. That’s why he wanted to make the confession special as well.
After literal days of planning how to properly ask you out, only his own nerves seemed to be in the way of him finding happiness with you. He chose a quiet place that radiate calmness, which helped him be a little less on the edge as he arrived with you. Casually chatting with you, he slowly guided the conversation to the topic of relationships ... he was testing the ice he was about to step on.
He was combing a hand through his hair every couple of seconds, trying to focus on actually paying attention to what you were saying instead of sorting the words he wanted to say. So, he kept starring at the tip of your adorable nose (he could keep ranting about it for hours).
“I know this is very sudden and I don't want to make it awkward between us. In the past months I’ve realized that while being friends with you is absolutely amazing and I’m very grateful for it, I want to ask you what you’d think about been more than ... friends. What you’d think about ... being a couple, you know?”
After you had confessed as well he excused himself to turn around for a second, slapping his own cheeks with his hands to make sure that he wasn't dreaming, so he faced you with double-flushed cheeks and asked you to repeat what you had just said: “Well, um, great, I guess, that means we are daaaaating?”
tanaka ryuunosuke
His friends thought that he would blurt out his feelings right in front of you in the heat of the moment at some point. But this boy had a plan. A plan he had created with his dearest sister, who he had confided it.
He went classic. And maybe a little overboard. Actually, as part of their research his sister had read online that 100 red roses symbolize “I’m fully devoted to you.”, which was a message he immediately felt deep inside his heart.
So, he was standing in front of you with this huge bouquet of flowers more or less effectively hidden behind his back. The confession itself went quickly. With his cheeks gave away his nervousness while he spoke his words in such a fast pace that it got nearly impossible to not admire his passion right then and there.
“I love you. I just love you so freaking much. I think of you first thing in the morning and last thing at night. When you text me, I drop everything I’m doing. I’m not very poetic. But I just really, very genuinely love you from the bottom of my heart.”
When you told him about your feelings for him, he nearly forgot to hand over the flowers. Well, he got a little embarrassed explaining the meaning of the 100 roses AFTER the confession part because he had somehow not mentioned it in his little speech earlier. But he was proud to call you his.
nishinoya yuu
To say the least, he was enthusiastic about confessing to you. He would finally get to tell his special person how special they actually were to him. Even days before the actual thing he couldn't stop grinning at you whenever he came into sight, which made it hard for others not to notice that something was up.
The only issue his friends were facing was that he came up with a new “super-duper-giganticly amazing idea” every day. They had to sit him down to have his mind focus on one plan at a time, eventually leading him to setting his mind on confessing to you after a volleyball match.
Cue to him jumping through the hallways of the gym to find you among the visitors. Considering that it was after five sets and nearly two hours of him being on the court he had way too much energy from the thought of soon enough being called your boyfriend alone. He was sweaty, he was thirsty, he was lightning.
“DID YOU SEE ME OUT THERE, I THINK I WAS GREAT AND YOU ARE PRETTY. SO WE ARE PRETTY GREAT!”
He might have skipped a few steps there. When he realized that himself he stopped mid-air and he ended up standing right in front of you, not knowing what to do like someone had cut of his energy supply. He was actually at a loss for words before he asked you if he could start anew with what he had wanted to say.
Now in his second attempts, he was much more flustered than before. It was slowly sinking in how much was on the line and all his flaws, like his academic skill, began to weigh on him. The celebration of you reciprocating his feelings followed suit with a hug. A very sweaty but very ecstatic hug.
azumane asahi
Everyone knew this was going to be torture for him. All the methods that Suga and Daichi tried to talk him through sounded worse than the one before and he actually ended up wondering if his crush on you couldn't simply subside without you having to know what feelings he had for you.
He decided to tell you and ask you out during one of your casual meet-ups because then he wouldn't have to worry about the location and the time - and seeming suspicious, which still left him a door open to escape in case of him chickening out last minute.
The two of you were resting on a bench at a local park, watching kids play at a playground when he gathered enough courage to let you look inside his heart. As not being in control over his words was one of his greatest fears he had prepared something like a little script that he pulled out of his pocket after picking up the conversation again.
As part of this short speech he admitted how making new friends wasn't something that came easy to him, but that talking to you on the day you met was one of the best choices he had ever made. He emphasized how you always made him feel safe, regardless of how nervous and scared he was when it came to some things.
Throughout the whole ‘ordeal’ he barely dared to look up even though he could feel yours eyes on him. But with his fingers shaking slightly and his throat going dry with every word he was afraid he would stumble. He sat up straight as a meerkat, eyes wide and mouth slightly ajar the moment you said it was mutual.
“I honestly can't believe I’m this lucky to have you in my life, (Y/N).”
sugawara koushi
He had a plan. Originally, it had been one of those super-staged romantic scenarios he had seen on tv, but he discarded all of those when his heart acted on this warm and fuzzy feeling erupting inside of him while the two of you had been on an outing one day. His head had zero seconds to intervene.
Even before he had made actual plans of confessing to you, he just knew that you were the one he wanted to date. You were the one whose hand he wanted to hold. You were the one he wanted to hold when you were sad and he wanted to be the one being held by you when he wasn't feeling like his usual upbeat self. Being around you and falling for you had come as natural as breathing to him.
Well, he more or less ended up blurting out his feelings when the conversation somehow reached the topic of dating and you said that you were in fact single but ready to mingle - And Suga’s mouth moved before he could think about anything he was about to say. His heart saw the opportunity and acted on it.
“This might sound absolutely weird, and of course you can say no, but considering that, how about our next outing will be a date? It’s just something I’ve been thinking about for a little while now. And it would be an honor to be the one going on a date with you.”
Once he realized what he had just done he was starring at you like a deer in headlights. But he very dramatically reached for his heart and exhaled a little heavier than usual following your agreement to his offer. From there, he planned it all, swearing to himself that later on he would ask you out properly and wouldn't let his heart take over like that again! A smiley boy for the rest of the day.
sawamura daichi
This man was an overthinker. It didn't matter how much time you two spent together and how much you radiated more-than-friends energy, he was always overthinking if all of this was just his own head-over-heels-for-you conception of the situation. He needed a push from his friends.
In the end, his confession was really short but sweet because he wanted to get it over with and didn't want to burden you further in case of you not reciprocating his feelings. You could tell how much he was trying to not cringe at himself while saying the most important words.
“Actually, I think I have known for quite a while now. Spending time with you is my favorite thing to do and I’m genuinely the happiest person on earth when you smile. So, I was wondering, if you wanted to be more than friends, too. Because I would be delighted to.”
He might have rehearsed these sentences over and over again in front of a mirror the last night, hence the slight shadows underneath his eyes. But who could think of sleep when he was planning how to confess to his crush, aka. the most gorgeous person on planet earth?
When you said ‘yes’, he broke into the biggest grin and even thanked you for giving him a chance. He invited you to one of his favorite restaurants nearby. At home he sat down on his bed, head in his hands and had to take a deep breath to realize what had happened today. As soon as the butterflies hit his stomach he was laying on his bed, slightly punching his pillow while his cheeks turned bright red in happiness.

How They React to You Fainting in Front of Them
Tumblr media
Headcanons for the Karasuno Boys (Hinata Shouyou, Kageyama Tobio, Yamaguchi Tadashi, Tsukishima Kei, Ennoshita Chikara, Tanaka Ryuunosuke, Nishinoya Yuu, Azumane Asahi, Sugawara Koushi, Sawamura Daichi)
A/N: Well, a bit of comfort for my fellow low blood pressure fans and those who have fainted before, like me. Keep your heads up! Always make sure to call an ambulance or go to a doctor if you are unconscious for longer than a few seconds or aren't prone to feeling dizzy, there might be underlying issues.
Trigger Warning: Fainting (who would have thought), implications of nausea, dizziness and fatigue - Lots of fluff tho!!
Tumblr media
hinata shouyou
Exams were coming up and with a boyfriend like Hinata there was no way around tutoring him yourself, no matter how bad your own grades were. There was no way that his could get worse. Equipped with lots of snacks that his mom had prepared in advance, the two of you were hosting a small study session. In between Natsu insisted on playing with you in their little backyard - One thing thing led to another and soon enough you were down in the burning heat of summer.
Natsu screamed. And Hinata jolted towards you before he sat down on his knees right next to you. His head hovering above yours he starred at your motionless face with big eyes. In a hurry his eyes shot from one spot to the other, from the door to the spot Natsu had been standing at a couple of seconds ago but was nowhere to be seen now and back to you.
While he was tempted to shake your shoulders, he rather resorted to stammering one word after the other. “(Y/N), wake uuuuuuuupp, pleeeeeeease.” He was basically begging when his mom came running into the backyard after Natsu had alerted her. Next thing he knew you were looking back at him again with confusion gracing your eyes.
The rest of the day was spent in the living room where Hinata bounced around whenever you implied that you might need anything. At the same time his mom kept an eye on you and made sure that you were drinking enough even though the color had returned to your face soon after waking up. Hinata was rather happy that he had a reason to stop studying that day - Despite that reason being that he had boyfriend duties to fulfill.
He walked you home that evening, all while jumping around you with as much energy as ever. Whatever came to his mind, he pointed it out to you. Actually, he simply didn't want you to stop talking or smiling or reacting in any way. The forced silence during your unconsciousness had scared him quite a bit. Who was supposed to laugh about his jokes, if it wasn't for you?
A slight scolding from his mom later, he started to keep an eye on the little things he noticed - And began to overreact just a bit if he considered it an issue. Cold hands? He would loudly ask everyone in the room for gloves. Sweating? He would zoom to the closest vending machine. Of course, he was bragging to Kageyama about how awesome he was as a boyfriend.
kageyama tobio
If Kageyama could be described with one word, then it would be ‘stubborn’. But also dedicated. So, he happened to be jogging his rounds through the local park one Saturday morning. And every once in a while he would pass by you sitting on a nearby bench as you waved at him in tiny. During the next round he arrived in sight just in time to see your upper body hunch over towards your knees. He ran.
“This is absolutely not funny, (Y/N). Start chuckling. Like, right now. Hello?” At first he stood next to the bench with you in quite a weird looking position, but he realized that this wasn't a joke right after. He felt your pulse before doing anything else and not daring to move you he was about to dial the emergency number.
His eyes kept scanning the surroundings for people that might be of more help than he currently was, because he knew that he wasn't exactly doing anything beneficial here. Actually, he was so lost in thought that he nearly yelped when you suddenly sat up again like nothing had happened. You were pale as hell but very much alive.
He was even more awkward during the comfort stage as he couldn’t grasp what type of comfort you might need. Was he supposed to go and fetch a bottle of water? Did you need cuddles or was touching you a bad idea? What was he supposed to do if you were to faint again? He was trying. He really was. 10/10 for effort, 0/10 for execution.
On your way back home he had his hand on your back in an attempt to provide you with stability. That seemed pretty smart and reasonable to him. He also stared at you for way too long at a time. Not that it was weird, just an additional extra seconds that were a little hard to ignore.
He might or might not have called his sister that evening. And he might or might not have sneaked a little teddy bear plushie a couple of days later. Sometimes he didn't know how to comfort you or what to do when you felt bad, so he wanted you to have this tiny fellow by your side. It ended up being specifically helpful during the long distance episodes during his professional career.
yamaguchi tadashi
The whole team was in euphoria. Absolute ecstasy. A win they had considered impossible only a couple of weeks ago had just come true. Hitoka and you were zooming through the hallways to meet the boys at the door. A little flustered Yamaguchi immediately embraced your smiling figure, nearly sweeping you off your feet in the process. But then your giggles subsided and your limbs went numb - Your head bumped against the side of his, arms slipping off his shoulders.
The increased weight he was holding dragged him to the floor while he was still supporting your upper body from the hug that had turned serious in a matter of seconds. With you in his arms he crouched down, careful to not bump your legs or your head that he had zero control over into something. His eyes were wide, the hot sweat covering his body had turned into a cold shiver. Something was very, very wrong.
Panicking. Absolutely panicking. He couldn't even think of calling out to his teammates who were literally surrounding him but had yet to notice what was happening in the middle of their little celebration dance in the hallway. All he did was to say your name over and over again, touching your cheek with shaking fingers
When your eyes flew open a couple of seconds later, he nearly fainted himself as his lungs were finally filling with air again. By then, those standing closest to the two of you had noticed your condition - And from there it spread like wildfire among the team. But Yamaguchi only had eyes for you and he didn't even notice how close he was holding you as opposed to his usually shy nature when it came to PDA of all sorts.
“Gosh, you nearly made me have a heart attack, honey, oh wow, that was scary. Are you feeling better?” Lots of interjections as he was trying hard to voice his thoughts. Someone had brought a bottle of water in the meantime and you were slowly sitting up again. Propped up against his side he trailed his head up and down your thigh to show you that he was there.
He brought up the idea of a code word. Say the word and he will have his hands wrapped around you immediately to make sure that you don't get hurt when you aren't feeling well. That one time you accidentally used it in a normal conversation was the scariest he’s ever been through, except for you actually fainting in his embrace.
tsukishima kei
Granted, lots of people and loud one at that surrounding him at once wasn't exactly what he enjoyed the most in this earthly life of his, but one more person wouldn't hurt - Especially if that person was you, that had official permission to join today because you had offered to help out since Kiyoko had called in sick. He was completely focused, you were busy and that only changed when the thud of a person hitting the floor echoed through the room. And he didn't have to turn around to feel the sinking feeling in his stomach.
He cursed at himself when he realized that he had paid zero attention to what you had been doing ever since you had gotten to work with Yachi. Now you were laying on the ground, slightly sweaty hair sticking to your face. Your face that was so sickly pale. Of course, he was by your side in what was a matter of seconds. You were breathing, that was good. A wave of relief washed over him because his worst nightmare wasn't coming true right now.
His eyes on you, he took notice of Takeda sending Ennoshita and Narita to see if the school nurse was still in her office and of Daichi gathering all the other boys in a different corner. Then your eyes opened again and he was there, just there for you. After crouching down to tell you what had happened, he got up to lift your legs by holding them at your ankles.
Actually, he had chosen to do so because that was the first step he had learnt in his first aid workshop - But he figured that it was quite easy to restrain you from getting up too early when he was the one in charge of your legs.
The more he scanned your face, the more obvious the signs of remaining fatigue were to him. The shadows underneath your eyes, your faint smile, the way your hands were shaking ever so slightly as you wiped a streak of hair out of your field of vision. Every time he looked away to take a breath, he ended up looking at you only a split second later. Leaving you out of sight and having you faint once was more than enough for a single day.
In the days after your fainting incident he was battling the anxiety for days. Not that he would openly tell you, but he seemed to be handing you drinks more often than ever before or eyed you out of the corner of his eye when you yawned or rubbed your eyes. He tried to be subtle about it, yet it didn't take long for people to catch on. Yamaguchi might have made a comment about it.
ennoshita chikara
Why all teachers had devoted themselves to scheduling every single exam and project deadline for a time frame of about 10 days was something neither him nor you would ever understand. Especially with volleyball practice coming up twice a day, he found himself struggling quite a bit with time management because he had to cover practice, school and you as well as his family. The group project with him and you in the same group seemed to be a blessing in disguise.
After lunch break it was your group’s turn to present your results, all group members lining up in front of the class with him standing right next to you. In the middle of the presentation his heart skipped a beat as he saw you swaying slightly in the corner of his eye. He thought how odd it was for you to suddenly start moving like that. Then you slurred your words, again in the middle of the sentence, which finally triggered him to directly look at you.
He was just in time to see how you completely lost your balance, knees giving in to your way, notes dropping to the floor. The paper in his hands followed suit as soon as he let to go of it to catch you in his arms. With little to no space in the area between the teacher’s desk, the board and the other group members he chose the easy of just picking you up himself: One arm was supporting your back, the other had your knees resting on it and your head was safely leaned against his chest. Nothing could hurt you like this, was what he was thinking.
“I’m gonna take (Y/N), ehm, I mean (Y/L/N), to the infirmary,” he explained while he was already on the way to the door. “It would be great if someone could help me with the door as my hands are rather full. Oh yes, the notes for our parts can be found to your feet, thank you.” - Someone pushed the door open for him and his attention was off the classroom again as he was moving very slowly to make sure that not a single part of your body would collide with the doorframe.
Once the door was closed, he wanted to start running. He wanted to dash to the nurse, with you still in his arms, to get you the medical attention you needed as soon as possible. Trying to shift your weight a little bit, he noticed how easily your head was bumping from one side to the other in your unconscious state and he found himself flinched at the thought of making you even more uncomfortable.
You came to about halfway to the nurses office, he was taking long steps to avoid any unnecessary waves of movements jolting your body. It needed you calling his name for him to look down at you, yet he managed to crack a weak smile: “Welcome back, seems like you fell for me all over again, huh?”. Later at the infirmary, he had to sit down and rest his head in his hands as a silent meltdown. Also, he was already dreading your joined retour to the classroom considering his embarrassing behavior earlier.
tanaka ryuunosuke
Being as energetic as ever he was jumping from left to right and back to the left in front of you while imitating Daichi as you were filling the time in between your last class and the start of his afternoon practice behind the gym hall. It wasn't until he heard Sugawara yell his name from the door of said hall that you noticed how much time had passed. You got up to hand him his back that you hadn't been watching during his little performance, but he had to watch your knees give in only a few moments later.
He stared. For him, you dropped in what must have been slow motion and his body simply wasn't quick enough to catch on in the same speed as his mind was begging his legs to. When your body collided with the ground, even bounced back a little bit, only to hit the hard surface once more. His eyes wide open and the whole scenario reflecting in them, he nearly tripped when his legs finally started sprinting towards your motionless figure.
Coming to a stop on his own knees, he inspecting your face before trying to shake you awake by placing a hand on your shoulder. Frankly, he didn't know what to do. If only Chikara or Suga were here. To stop his frightened thoughts from further feeding his anxiety, he says every nickname he can think of, repeating your name over and over again in between.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I’m so sorry I wasn't paying better attention to you,” he mumbled as if it were a charm that would undo the incident. Being alone with you didn't help the situation either because he was determined to not leave you behind even though it would only be for two minutes with his team mates being this close. He switched to stroking your cheek with the back of his fingers, clenching his other hand to a fist.
Sugawara’s scolding had never sounded so heavenly like in this moment when Tanaka heard him round the corner to finally fetch the second year. It only needed Tanaka’s pleading eyes that were filled with fear for Sugawara to rush back to the gym hall, leaving behind the promise that he would get the adults.
Waking up to him nearly slapping himself to stay calm and multiple people running around the corner, calling his name and yours, was the first thing that manifested as a conscious memory for you. Ever-so-passionate Tanaka didn't even consider attending practice that day, instead he insisted on you getting that checked out at the hospital. In the waiting room he was resting his forehead on your shoulder as his head grew heavy from relief.
nishinoya yuu
Even in the early morning hours it had been obvious that today would be hot. Burning hot. But that didn't stop him from running from one classroom to the other during lunch break to gather all his friends in the same spot - aka. the very popular benches underneath the huge tree in the yard. Shadow guaranteed. When it finally was time to eat, he sprinted towards the arranged spot to find you hunched over on the bench and tipping over when he blinked.
He zoomed across the yard. And he forced his own body in between the space that was left between the ground and your body. With him body slamming to the concrete and you landing partly on top of him, the attention of everyone else around you was gained. He needed to blink again to realize what his body had just automatically done.
“Hey, are you okay?” No response. Saying your name didn't do anything either. One limb at a time he freed himself from his position. While doing so he noticed how lifeless your body felt, you weren't resisting, no chuckle or laughter, absolutely nothing. If this was a joke, it had to be a really bad one. But he also knew that you would never purposefully scare him and toy with his feelings like that.
Students were whispering all around the two of you, yet he could only focus on your seemingly sleeping figure. His legs were tingling as his body wanted to jump up again to get the nurse or a teacher himself until the other second years showed up by stepping out of the crowd. You woke up to only Tanaka being missing who was sent to alert the nurse and the others shielding you from the curious glances.
Once you were awake again, Nishinoya fully committed himself to staring at you. There was no way he would miss a single sign of dizziness or nausea washing over you. He even used his own hands to keep your face out of the sun. When the nurse came he diligently listened to everything she said, even going as far as making actual notes while she was checking on you.
The two of you ended up spending lunch break at the infirmary - You in bed and him trying to feed you because “You have to regain your strength! By eating! That’s what the nurse said!”. As if he hadn't been the affection type of boyfriend already, he made sure to hug you even more from now on. He dubbed it ‘Energy Transmission’.

Following his morning practice you had picked him up like every day to chat a little bit while walking to your classes. He was always matching your pace despite tending to make bigger steps than you because of his height, eyeing to his left where you were walking from time to time. It had become a calming part of your morning routines.
Only a couple of steps away from the gym hall, he turned towards you when he heard your bag drop to the ground and the rest was his instincts kicking in: Letting go of his own bag, he reached for you waist as you were falling towards the ground like the strings of a marionette had been cut. He prayed that he would be fast enough, internally yelling at himself to move even faster and faster and faster.
Somehow managed to catch your upper body before carefully placing you on the ground with shaking fingers. His mind was overflowing with potential diagnoses as he tried to remember what they had learnt in their first aid course that had been part of their biology class earlier this year. Kneeling on the dirty pathway himself, he held you up with one arm, keeping you close to himself to better observe you and grab the bag that was closest to you to place your head on it.
A couple of seconds later, the second years bursted through the door of the gym hall and he knew that all five of them would be hurdled together. His mouth was faster than his brain this way: “NISHINOYA, I NEED YOU TO GET THE NURSE,” he yelled loud enough for them to hear. Nishinoya didn't think twice and just started running.
As you were laying on the ground in front of him, head on the bag and body resting on your right side to keep your air passages free, he removed single strands of air from your face with shaking fingers. He didn't dare to touch, let alone move you, even more. The damage he might do to you was branded too risky by his fear.
You started blinking at him again before Nishinoya or the nurse were back, so you couldn't have been out for long. For him it had been an eternity. During your exam at the nurse’s office he was waiting outside the door the whole time - Daichi and Sugawara being with him to pat his shoulders and back in the meantime. He could only muster up enough courage to whisper in the middle of a comfort hug: “You really scared me there, you looked so fragile I thought you would crack under my touch.”

During lunch break he usually came to your classroom to chat with you about each other’s days, especially if you hadn't been able to see each other a lot thanks to classes and practice. So, he found himself casually chatting about the latest catastrophes that mostly involved the chaos that was called the first year quad, when he noticed that you weren't responding much anymore.
His eyes widened the moment he realized you were breathing unsteadily as if you were trying to hold onto the last remaining pieces of your consciousness. Immediately, he reached for your hand as he was sitting right next to you, trying to get your attention.
Next thing he knew was your body basically falling against his in a last attempt to find shelter before you had passed out completely. A second earlier his eyes had been searching for a water bottle, now they were set on finding the most reliable student around. To say he was alerted would have been an understatement with his following action basically consisted of ordering said students around: “Go and fetch a teacher! We need help over here!”
He tried to stay as still as possible to provide your body with the stability it had been craving so badly, caressing the back of your hand he was still holding with his thumb as if he was drawing little circles on it. The only thing keeping him sane was the fact that he could feel you breathing against his neck. He kept looking around to reassure everyone else that he quite literally got your back.
Once you were conscious again, he supervised you as you got all the rest you needed and had been told to get by the nurse. But as soon as you had recovered enough - and he was convinced that you were able to bear it - he wrapped you in a hug, tears reflecting in his eyes, voice breaking with every second word: “I didn't know what to do when you were laying in my arms without moving at all, love. I’m sorry you had to experience this.”
He really couldn't stand the thought of you feeling sick and him not being able to do anything about it. That’s why he turned into the pro of prevention - Snacks in his back, making sure that your lunch break sessions take place at the cafeteria or with a lunch box, the personification of “Hydrate or DIE-drate”. He is just a worried baby.
sawamura daichi
He caught on that something was wrong before you had any chance of saying it yourself as he felt his chest tighten after he had noticed that you were turning pale. Call it the Captain or the Boyfriend Instinct, but he had his full attention on you.
When your eyes lost focus on top of that, he tried calling out your name only for his words to get stuck in his throat and to be replaced with a huff that he let out while he zoomed forward to hold you.
As soon as his hands were tightly, but not painfully, wrapped around your upper arms, your body went limp. Knowing that he couldn't hold you up standing after seeing your head fall back as well, he took the fall with you to cushion your body himself and gain control over the impact on the floor. He never let go of you the entire time.
On the outside, he was completely in charge of his emotions and the situation. Most importantly, he ordered some nearby students, who had gotten quite a scare out of you suddenly going down, to get the school nurse. Simultaneously he made sure that you could breathe, all the while slowly rubbing his hand up and down your back to ensure that you could feel that he was there.
Soon enough you started squirming in his hold and once he looked down again his glance met your tired eyes. He let out a long breath that he had been holding ever since jumping into action. Seeing you conscious again calmed his racing heart to which he carefully placed his hand on your cheek.
“Hey there, don't worry about a thing, the nurse is on her way. We’ll just stay like this until she is here, okay?” He explained in a gently voice with so much warmth in his eyes that only turned away to check the hallway for the nurse. “I won't leave you at any point, all you need to do is breathe and tell me if you feel dizzy again, alright, my dear?”
In the days after, he made it a habit of his to always hold your hand when you were around. His mind kept replaying the worst case of you falling to the ground without anyone there to cushion your fall, so feeling your touch helped him fight off the anxiety of it happening again.

Thoughts On: Sugawara Koushi x fem!Reader - Royalty AU
This was supposed to be a couple of lines for a Royalty AU with Sugawara based on that prompt, then it turned into an outline and now it's half a one shot. No idea how to categorize it. Maybe I'll write a full version of it one day ಠ_ಠ
Just read it as if it was the summary of a fan fic with some actual scenes thrown into it!
Trigger Warning: Mentions of blood, injuries and death (if you squint for the latter)

Koushi had always been considered the sweet, gentle and charming prince out of his bunch of siblings. But he had also always been deemed unimportant as the third in line to the throne, following his brothers crown prince Asahi and ever so trustworthy Daichi. Despite receiving the same education as them, he found himself stuck at social events where he was just trying to meet new people, yet these seemed to be much more attracted to his older brothers instead of his stories. The stories of Prince Koushi.
With Asahi attending special lessons to prepare him for the throne and Daichi being busy sparring all day to take over the Royal Guard soon after, he usually didn't know where to go. He simply didn't seem to fit in anywhere. His beloved library and stables? Not worth of his status, according to most. Special classes? Not worth the effort considering his lower status and usually average results, according to others.
So, he at least pretended to be on some important mission while wandering the hallways of the castle everyday. Until one day he saw a girl disappearing behind a heavy wooden door that led to the chambers of the Department of Magic. A girl he had spotted at the library before. A girl who always kept her head down as if she didn't want to be seen. But now that he had, he stole a glance to the left and a glance to the right before following her way.
What he came across was beyond his imagination. His parents and his teachers had told his siblings and him about the department before, but considering that those working there were hired by the Royal Family it was supposed to be best to keep them secluded from the daily lives of the members of the royal bloodline. Magic was needed, but feared and condemned as uncontrollable by those who couldn't use it. None of the children had ever seen the Great Sorcerer, the head of the department, before.
One bookshelf next to the other was lining the walls, lots of tables in between, and cups filled with what might be colorful potions decorating them in the slightly dusty room. Not even the huge windows on the other side let in enough light for him to see everything in vivid detail. And then there was her, the girl he had been looking for, sat at one of the tables and focused on a book.
For once, he felt like he had seen something that everyone else had yet to see. That finally he had been Number One in something.
He announced himself. From there things progressed rather quickly, in the beginning because no one dared to oppose a member of the Royal Family, later because he had gotten closer to you.
"I'm the daughter of this country's Great Sorcerer," you had explained. "Unless we need a book from the Royal Library my father and I aren't allowed outside these chambers."
"I'm Koushi, third son of the shining sun and the glimmering moon of our empire," he had introduced himself casually as if he wasn't talking about his parents, the Emperor and the Empress. "Do you mind explaining magic to me? Just a little bit?"
That's how he got his very own special classes. You would explain how magic had once manifested in a single person hundreds of years ago, but was still considered a highly rare skill with only one out of a thousand people possessing it. A skill that had to be mastered on top of that. And you showed him some minor spells your father had taught you at a young age - Holding out your hand, mumbling a spell that was too fast for the prince to catch on, some ancient signs floating in the air as a result before your magic did what it was supposed to do.
He always watched in awe. No one knew about him going to the Department of Magic basically every day now. Admittedly, he rather enjoyed having a little secret that none of his brothers knew about.
After attending his morning classes, he would check in with you for an hour before leaving for his etiquette and horseback riding classes, only to return shortly after dinner again.
"Why is it that you aren't using your magic for basically everything in your life?" He asked one day, flipping through the pages of a book that he mostly couldn't read. "I mean, like you said, there's spells for everything. Why do you still go and grab the books from the highest shelves instead of having them fly to you?"
That was when you answered: "Why run when walking in a more comfortable pace has the same result?"
Maybe he had accepted the fact that he couldn't change being third in line to the throne a little more that day. He was also determined to show you his world outside in return.
"But no one is supposed to see me. I'm like a secret well kept as I'm bound to succeed my father one day," you resisted.
The next day he came back with two shimmering capes made from orange satin. With his signature smirk he offered: "Put one of these on when we are outside. I'm gonna take the other. Plus, you don't have to use your magic there, no one will know about your ability and people will just wonder whose fashion sense is weird enough to put on a bright orange cape, right?"
Your little adventures started with trips to the garden, the kitchens, the ballroom. All these places that were normal to him but not to you. Soon you would venture further under Koushi's guidance. To the villages nearby, to the lake, to the fields behind the stables. And sometimes you would throw in a little magic trick when no one was looking. Up to this day no one knew how the dead bushes next to the castle's entrance had been revived, but they were in full bloom again. When his parents mentioned it, Koushi suppressed a smile.
Eventually, the emperor's birthday came around. Like every year a big party would be hosted, thousands of people would flood the capital and a parade with the Royal Family would be held. On this occasion your father would be present as well, welcoming the Royal Family at their parade's final destination, the Royal Gardens, for their annual celebratory picknick to bless them with good fortune for another year.
Also like the past five years, you were seated in the last carriage with other employees. Not close enough to anyone to be spotted and identified, yet it was enough to see what your father was doing. One day you would take over this duty and it was important to know what was happening. What the protocol was.
Only that this year there was one more person who knew of your presence. Third in line to the throne, Prince Koushi. He found himself seated in the second carriage, his parents and two older brothers riding the first one, with his three younger brothers Chikara, Hisashi and Kazuhito. Next were Yuu and Ryuunosuke riding the third carriage with their two sisters, Hitoka and Kiyoko. Everything was going peacefully.
That was until 20 minutes away from the garden, things took a turn for the worst.
All six carriages came to a sudden stop when loud noises set off in the middle of the crowd. People screamed, the horses whined, guards jumped into action, away from the Royal Family. Only seconds later the entourage was surrounded by bandits.
Koushi couldn't remember if any demands had been made but he saw his father rush out of the carriage, sword in his hands, followed by Asahi and Daichi doing the same.
Metal scraped against metal, pain erupted into screams, and Koushi was nearly glad he could look away when a stone came flying through the window of his carriage. Urging his brothers to remain seated and keep each other safe, he too jumped out of his carriage, hand at his hip and ready to draw his sword. While he might only be the third prince, he too had received the same combat training as Asahi and was an older brother to his younger siblings all the same. Siblings that needed his protection now.
One glance was enough to realize how miserably outnumbered they were.
His father, Daichi and Asahi were taking on about 25 bandits all together, making sure to never let anyone step closer to the carriage in which their wife and mother still remained. To his right Yuu and Ryuunosuke were busy fending off a dozen on their own, them as well keeping anyone from getting too close to their sisters inside the carriage. Even further down the lane, his four youngest brothers were standing back to back, each sword pointing in a different direction.
For now, it was each group for themselves. With Chikara guarding the two younger ones who hadn't gotten any sword training in years, it was up to him to keep the attackers at a convenient distance. And it worked for several minutes. His clothes got torn here and there, his hair fell out of its slicked back state, but the blood being shed wasn't his.
Despite never attending a single war strategy class, Koushi knew that they were screwed in the long-run if no messenger was to get out of this mess. Swords kept clashing to his left, his right, in front of him and the sounds started morphing into a single background noise. Every scream from his brothers' throats made his blood freeze and heart stop, but he didn't have the time to take his eyes off of the opponents surrounding him. They just continued to stand up - or did new ones arrive at an alarming rate? He wasn't sure any longer.
Stabbing pain in his right leg hit him. He swayed for a second before clenching his teeth and tightening the grip around his sword, slashing the man who had forced his own sword through the prince's flesh only seconds before. His throbbing leg was enough for the inexperienced prince to lose his rhythm. Blood was soaking through his white pants.
He managed to dodge another blow by mere centimeters, eventually going down as his injured leg gave in to his weight. Kneeling in the dust, despair refecting in his eyes, all the noises surrounding him became one once more.
"KOUSHI!" He heard numerous male voices shouting his name. His father, Daichi, even Ryuunosuke and Chikara. Maybe he had been too confident in himself when he had stormed out of the carriage to take on two dozen bandits on his own. The shadows on the ground told him more than he needed to know, his attackers were near and swords were being raised at him. Hands placed on the dusty road, he exhaled one last time.
Incomprehensible mumbling was what he heard next. Instead of his head falling, a familiar shade of orange popped up in front of him. He took another breath. A breath that turned even shakier when he saw what had forced itself in between him and the opponents' blades.
First, there was you. Back and legs bent as much as your body could endure to fit in the tiny space, arms stretched out towards those in foreign armor. The blinding shade of your cape flowing in the wind and following your rapid movements. He couldn't even see your face, but he just knew it was you. Your extended arms supported a shield made out of the ancient symbols he had seen before in all these books he had tried to read or whenever you had shown him your magic. Now they were arranged in a pattern he once again couldn't understand, forming a barrier that didn't budge when the swords of those attempting to break through hit it.
Yet another spell was spoken, this time from a man's mouth, and it was the bandits' turn to fall to their knees. The swords remained flying in the air before they were pulled away like someone had summoned them somewhere else.
"The Great Sorcerer has arrived! Everyone, commence and keep your heads up!" The voice of the emperor roared across the scene.
And this time, the battle was theirs to win.
As soon as it was safe to put down the guard, the shield you had made vanished into thin air. You turned around, finally able to face him and he nearly flushed red when he realized what pitiful state he must be in.
"Koushi, this is literally not the time for heart eyes," Chikara mumbled grumpily while he was tending to his brother's bloody leg.
By now everyone had left their carriages, the emperor was making a headcount. The guards were checking on the civilians who had cheerfully lined the streets not even 30 minutes prior. Those among them who weren't injured slowly grasped the situation when they spotted the prince on the floor, next to him a girl who had used very real magic on top of that.
They watched as the empress saw her bleeding son as well, widening her eyes in the process and not daring to lose sight of him as she hurried over.
The whispering of the bystanders got louder with her every step.
But she didn't ask a single question and only went on to hug her son who was very much alive at least according to his hissing when Chikara wasn't careful enough and the soft look in his eyes when his mother's warmth embraced him.
Her white clothes weren't spotless any longer either.
Next, she touched Chikara's cheek, giving it a little squish, before she gave him a small smile as well.
"Royal Sorceress, I need to thank you for protecting my family," she proceeded to say. "We, especially Prince Koushi, owe you a lot."
The corners of your mouth rising in response was enough for her to know that her words had been heard. She got up again to check on her other children just the same. With your position officially having been announced to the public, you took off your cape and wrapped the silver-haired prince in it. Blood had gotten everywhere on his clothes.
The adrenaline slowly subsided and left space for the force of reality hitting all of you. As you were busy placing the fabric around his shoulders, all he did was look up at you.
"I didn't even see you coming. You were just there. Like the wind had carried you to me," he recalled.
You gave him an dry chuckle. Eventually, your hands trailed to his face where they rested on his cheeks. His head was still there, it hadn't fallen off, he was breathing, you had intervened quickly enough to shield him from the blades. Everything was going to be okay.
"Because for the first time in my life, I chose to run."

(Bonus points for the Great Sorcerer being the one to bless them at their wedding a couple of years later. More bonus points for Ennoshita judging hard because he is just trying to stop his brother from bleeding out.)

I always see Royalty AUs of the reader being a servant, citizen, or even a royal themselves but I never see any where the reader is the royal sorcerer/sorceress to the royal family. Writers: if this could be used as a prompt for writing I HIGHLY encourage you to use it and share your works, they’d be so cool to see!

heyo! this is my first time making a request, but I've been dying to make this one. my skin has been getting worse lately, idk what it is, just, like, random scratches and scabs, I hide it a lot in public with clothing. may I request a scenario with, idk, osamu maybe? or sakusa x a gender neutral reader, where they find out about it one day. you can work out the rest, I just want lots of fluff and comfort 🤧 [they don't have to be dating or romantic or anything, but maybe subtly hint feelings]
Well, hello there! One scenario with Osamu and an extra portion of fluff, coming right up for you ~
Have a specifically lovely day, you’ve got this!!

Flame of Hatred, Spark of Love | An Osamu x gender neutral! Reader Scenario

Today was one of those days that made practice even harder than it usually was. Since the early morning hours the sun had been mercilessly shining - While all students got permission to show up in their summer uniforms, the volleyball head coach didn’t even blink twice before sending the boys off to run ten laps around the court. Frankly, Osamu had wanted to stop the moment they started moving.
But with Atsumu in front of him and the start of qualification rounds for Nationals pretty much right around the corner, Osamu rose his head to keep looking straight ahead. And he didn’t stop until the final whistle echoed through the air to announce the end of practice. Osamu kept close to the outer wall of the gym hall for another five minutes, giving his back a well-deserved break. The other boys were busy spraying each other with water from their water bottles, anything was allowed to cool down from something that could only be described as a workout from hell. Even his t-shirt and training shorts seemed to be too much cloth in the burning heat of this afternoon in early May. Balancing his weight from one foot to the other, slowly sending him into motion, was the closest to a fan he could get his hands on right here and now.
His eyelids grew heavy. Swaying from left to right and from right to left his breath eventually calmed down as well. A nap sounded like a good idea to him. Before he was aware of it, he found himself giving in to the motion, the exhaustion and all of his little cravings that all included a rest.
But he noticed how the laughter in the background had subsided. Especially the voice of his brother.
His eyes shot open again as his hold of his own water bottle tightened immediately. Just in time for Atsumu to appear in his field of vision, Osamu avoided the water by mere inches. Leaving behind a wet spot where he had just been standing, the grey-haired boy retreated towards the entrance of the gym hall. 18 years of experience had done enough harm for his senses to sharpen and his „What is Atsumu doing?“-radar to turn into a warning system.
„Samuuuu, don’t be such a party-pooper,” he heard his other half whine farther and farther away. Not today, Tsumu, not after this torture.
Turning around the corner, his sharpened senses warned him yet again. But instead of moving abruptly like before, he came to a stop about two steps he would have crashed into the person standing there.
„(Y/N), what are you doing here?“ Osamu raised an eyebrow at your figure, trying to remember whether he had forgotten to meet you at some place. „I’m very sure that I didn’t mess up your schedule, according to which you are supposed to be on your way home by now.“
You only looked at him with slightly red cheeks, unusual for this heat and the summer uniforms.
„Wait - Why are you wearing a shirt with long sleeves and long pants? Not my call to make, but aren’t you melting in this heat?“, he interrupted himself.
Osamu took a step to the right, after which his shadow covered your figure. Now that he got a better look at you he noticed how flushed your cheeks actually were and that you were even burying your hands in sweater paws. With a little shake of his bottle he tried to guess how much water might be left inside, but it seemed to no avail since he had emptied it completely only minutes before.
Either way, you averted your eyes. At the last possible second he stopped himself from sighing.
„My summer uniform was wrinkled quite bad this morning and I didn’t exactly have the time and the nerve to change anything about it. So I went in my winter uniform,” you explained. The way you were playing with the hem of your sleeves told him you were lying. He took another tiny step towards you, covering you a little bit more in his own shadow.
Tiny droplets of sweat started appearing on the back of his neck one by one. Unbeknownst to you, who was only facing his front. Yet, he didn’t even make an effort to wipe them away. He only pointed at the door of the gym hall, his water bottle still in his hand: „Should we go inside? The air condition is o-„
„MIYA OSAMU, YOU HAVE BEEN CAUGHT!“
Those were the first-years’ voices.
You watched how Osamu’s eyes went wide before he turned around towards the boys yelling at him. The next thing the both of you knew was the unexpected sensation of water not only hitting your faces, but soaking your whole body. There was no possibility of escaping and Osamu could only do so much by raising his arm high enough to shield your head. He had completely forgotten about the water hose that was meant for watering the flowers of the gardening club.
As the laughter grew louder, both you and him were left behind standing in puddles. Even though the water finally stopped shooting at you, your clothes were nowhere close to being dry again. They were dripping as mercilessly as the sun was burning your faces.
„Going inside does in fact sound lovely,” you chuckled.
Osamu turned around, his bangs sticking to his forehead even more than before and his eye bags seemed more prominent as well. Life must be hard as the younger twin.
With a nod, he started walking towards the door, not even making an effort to try and tame his hair or clothes. At the entrance, he slipped out of his black and purple gym shoes. While you were busy doing the same, he already jogged inside to grab a towel on his way back to you. Only when your eyes met his, the right corner of his mouth moved up a little bit. Maybe he would be able of laughing about it later on, but for now he was busy mentally cursing his brother who most likely had implanted that idea in the brains of the first-years.
„This guy is giving me a headache,” he mumbled. „Do you have your gym clothes with you?“
You shook your head, knowing fully well that you had left the bag behind at home to avoid PE class, but not knowing where this conversation was supposed to go. All you could do was to try to dry your hair as much as possible with the towel Osamu had given you.
A hue of red appeared on his cheeks, only to be gone the moment you thought you had seen it. For once Osamu thanked the cold water that was still running down his back.
Behind you the door opened again, revealing the busy laughter of the first-years and Osamu didn’t think twice before grabbing your hand. The other hand went behind your back, carefully but eagerly pushing you away from the door and down the hallway. You watched Osamu blindly reaching for the light switches in the dark rooms you entered before eventually moving onto the next. Every time he pushed you a little to guide you in a certain direction, you could have sworn that he bit his lower lip.
After a maze of rooms, he came to a stop with you more or less still on his arms.
„Welcome, to the changing room of the second-years. Let’s get changed quickly and then leave even faster.“
He ran his hands through the wet streaks of his hair, combing them out of his sight.
„I’ve got a spare sweater, unused and basically fresh out of the washing machine, so you can use it, if you want to, which I think would be best, because walking home soaking wet might lead to you catching a cold, and the first rounds of tests are coming up, third year is tougher than second year,” he went on and on and on as if he had to explain why he happened to have a spare sweater in his locker that he hadn’t even opened yet. And he fiddled with his own towel while doing so, like doing something else would make him forget about what he had wanted to say.
But he stopped when he didn’t get a response from you. Internally and eternally cursing Atsumu also was on hold for a minute.
„I’m not changing, it’s fine! Also, my skin is rather bad and I don’t want to bother you with it.“
Osamu watched as still-dripping-and-soaked you stood in the corner of the room, pulling down the hem of your sleeves and adjusting your pants. Something snapped inside of him. And that something was eating him up. His jaw clenched and the grip around the sweater he had just gotten from his locker tightened.
You weren’t even wearing shoes because his teammates had been too focused on pranking him to pay attention to their surroundings. To people standing in their surroundings. He wanted to take this nagging feeling of heat boiling inside of him, put them in a box and light it on fire or drown it in the ocean. Your eyes were pinned to the floor, his glued to your hands and then the sweater you were wearing. Had been wearing all day. Didn’t dare to take off even after being drenched in water. The more he thought about it, the more he was struggling with putting a lid on these feeling flooding his heart and soul.
He hated it.
Once you were finished fixing your clothes, you looked up again with a smile on your face. It took everything of him to not let his eyes reflect the sadness that was taking over now. Why couldn’t he just go and wrap you in his arms, making you hear his heartbeat with your ears pressed to his chest? He couldn’t, because he was Osamu. Not Atsumu.
„Oh sorry, you probably want to change,” you noticed as soon as you saw the sweater in his hands.
Turning around to face the wall - you didn’t exactly know how to get back to the entrance yourself after that back and forth of getting here - you couldn’t see him gazing at your neck. Just like your cheeks, it was not only pink, but a dark shade of red by now.
Osamu didn’t make a sound as the tiptoed across the room, his feet only dressed in soaked socks like yours. The closer he got, the more he noticed that he really didn’t have it in him to embrace you in a hug. His hand reached out to you, the sweater long-forgotten resting on the bench in front of the lockers. But next to his burning hatred for the way you were beating yourself about over your skin was another light - Much smaller than the anger, yet not nearly as harmful.
You slightly jumped when you felt his big hand on your shoulder.
„I won’t look. I won’t judge. I won’t make any comments. And I won’t give you any advice because I’m sure you’ve tried a lot of things,” he explained with a much sturdier voice than earlier. A voice that was filled with so much warmth. „My sweater is all yours.“
With raised eyebrows you slowly turned around, but before you could see his face, he quickly retreated from you. He even went as far as covering his head with his own towel before he excused himself without a word to leave for another row of lockers. Having a twin also came with the advantage of sharing clothes - Atsumu was owing him anyway. After opening his brother’s locker on the other side of his own where you were standing, he slightly bonged his head against the door. Even the wet towel wasn’t capable of cooling his flushed cheeks.
But he had said it. Well, not directly said it. Though Osamu was hoping that he had gotten the point across.
Oh boy, I was embarrassing.
It took even more courage to step into the row where his locker was located again after he had gotten changed into what usually were Atsumu’s clothes. Only after your approval, of course. He was leaning with his back against the lockers until you had called out to him. And then you had appeared in his sight, dressed in his sweater. To make things worse or better for that matter, that back of the sweater read Inarizaki #2 MIYA OSAMU. A wave of internal awes extinguished what had been left of the seething flame inside his heart. He had no words to describe what was happening to him.
„And in return?“, you eventually asked.
Osamu only blinked at you twice. There wasn’t even a wrinkle on his forehead, but he ended up tilting his head just a little too much to say that it was a coincidence.
„I mean, what do you want in return? A favor for a favor, Osamu!“
Both of you had packed your stuff, or rather his stuff, and were headed for the entrance. Unfortunately there hadn’t been two spare pair of shoes inside his locker as well. Now all of your steps were accompanied with a squeaky sound. And his weren’t exactly making any less sounds. At least the sun was working in Osamu’s favor when it came to his now unruly hair, with streaks of it pointing basically everywhere but the places they had been formerly.
He hummed for a moment, looking at the sky instead of you: „How about you come to the first match of the qualification round? For Nationals, it’s my last year and attempt, you know?“
At the end, he clenched his jaw once more. He also burrowed his hands in the pockets of his pants. Maybe he was also holding his breath, he genuinely wasn’t aware of it any longer.
„You are saying that like I hadn’t already planned on coming!“
There it was, the oxygen filling his lungs.
You chuckled into your sweater paws, „Think of something else until I return your sweater.“
The little flame inside of Osamu’s chest grew bigger again, at least that was what it felt like. But this time it wasn’t the one burning everything else of him, comfortable warmth reached his cheeks despite the sun already working on a slight tan of his body.
„Okay, okay, I admit defeat,” he sighed. „Then how about you keep the sweater until the match and wear it to every game until we are out of the tournament?“
Deal.

Hey ! I don’t know if you are still doing requests, but I LOVE your writings ! So, if you still want to, can I ask for Iwaizumi with #1 prompt ? 😊 hope you have a nice day !
(A/N) - It’s been a while and I thought this prompt in combination with Iwaizumi might be the perfect drabble to pick up writing fan fiction again! Hope you like it :)
Tumblr media
Prompt #1 “Uhm, would it be okay if I held your hand?” with Iwaizumi Hajime
Iwaizumi was the ace.
The ace of Seijou, an unbreakable union with setter Oikawa Tour, who also happened to be his childhood friend. Spiking and yelling at the setter were the things he was really good at. Something he could pull off with his eyes closed and his arms feeling like jelly after hours of practice. No matter how heavy they were his arms had never grown tired during a single match until the referee’s whistle had echoed through the gym hall.
But said ace found the very same muscular and restless arms glued to his lap in this very moment. He couldn’t move them. A chuckle erupted from the person next to him - A sound that relaxed his muscles in an unknown way until they all tensed up again when he realized that he probably should have laughed too. Iwaizumi sank a little deeper into the seat. Raising his eyes for the first time in what probably had been ten minutes he noticed how he had lost track of who the characters on the giant screen ahead of him were, let alone what was going on.
But you were laughing.
You, the first person in history who had made him miss his spike because his body had frozen in the middle of his jump. Basically hanging in the air like he had been attached to a string he had focused on that one person in the audience for a second too long, missing the volleyball by mere inches. He had just been a little excited to know that you were watching him.
You, whose eyes sparkled brighter than everything he had ever seen in his life. Whose cheeks stood out ever-so-cutely with every smile, technically inviting him to pinch them. Who ended up being the first person he had ever asked out. Those were a lot of ‚ever’s because you were so different from anybody he had ever met. He could never grew tired of seeing you - Yet another superlative.
His right hand twitched, longing for the warmth of another person. The room was dark, just dark enough for him to gather up the courage he needed to take a deep breath. Maybe it was the oxygen that he was suddenly high on after sucking in what might as well have been every molecule in the air. He yanked his head to his right, only to look at you the exact moment your nose curled up again at a scene on screen that his brain hadn’t even considered watching. The real sight was right in front of him.
But his eyes went wide the very second your eyes met his after your chuckle had subsided. One second … Two seconds … three seconds … four … Where was Oikawa’s stupid confidence when he needed it for once? Just a teeny-tiny droplet to stop his hand from turning into a fist again.
Don’t be shy, just ask. Don’t be an idiot. Just. Ask.
Something that sounded like a chuckle in poor execution escaped from his mouth, making his cheeks turn into an even darker shade of red. Maybe he should simply move to Brazil. And change his identity while he was at it.
„Hajime, are you okay?“ You asked. „If you don’t like the movie, we can leave and, I don’t know, maybe go and eat something?“
That was not it. He nearly bit his tongue before autopilot finally took over.
„N-no, we’ll stay here if-if you don’t mind,“ he stuttered. „And, I don’t know how to ask this but … Uhm, would it be okay if I held your hand?“
His right hand reached over the bucket filled with popcorn, his eyes jumped back and forth between looking at his own hand and your eyes. No control over his actions or whatsoever. Soon he felt his face slowly giving in to the silence. As he was about to scratch his head with the hand he had just extended, your fingertips touched his. Immediately you had gotten his attention again.
And there it was, that smile of yours that could lighten up the darkest of rooms.

#21 with bokuto on the fluff list?? pls that would be so soft 🥺❤️❤️
(A/N) - THANK YOU FOR REQUESTING MY OWL BOY
Prompt #21 „I really hope that you like it! But if you don’t, you won’t have to wear it." with Bokuto
A little package wrapped in paper decorated with tiny cartoon owls rested on your lap. While you took your time to open it, careful not to rip the pretty wrapping, you felt the piercing eyes of your boyfriend. Bokuto sat to your right as he looked up and down between your face and your fingers in high speed. You could nearly hear his heartbeat.
“Come on, please, hurry! The excitement his killing me”, he complained when he began to fiddle with his fingers.
Even though he was the one that knew what he had bought for you, he seemed to be much more nervous than you were. You hadn't even expected him to invest money for you in the first place.
“Just a minute! I don't want to destroy the cute paper, Ko.”
“When I saw this in the mall, I immediately had to think of you! Because you said you were cold on windy days and, and, and - yeah. I forgot what I wanted to say”, Bokuto babbled and babbled.
Only the sound of the excitement in his voice made you smile at the halfway unwrapped gift.
Finally the reveal of the mystery was only one movement away when you heard him hold his breath. When you saw the colorful fabric inside the package your face lost all kind of expression. You just starred at it as you grabbed it and held it towards the sky. A cardigan.
At the sight of your reaction the tips of Bokuto’s hair sank a little lower. Looking at his shoes he furrowed his eyebrows, not daring to catch another glimpse of you.
„I really hope that you like it”, he mumbled. “But if you don’t, you won’t have to wear it."
Maybe he should have asked Akaashi before buying something without telling you. Now he had disappointed you and had even robbed you of your smile. The smile he originally had wanted to see after making you happy with a present.
Then your lips brushed his cheek, making him sit up like lightening had struck him. Despite his former intention he could not not face you anymore. So he turned around his head to be faced with your smile. You were about to unzip your jacket and next thing he knew was that you were throwing it into his face.
Now dressed in the rainbow-cardigan you twirled around in front of him, sparkling in the remaining sunlight of the day. Well, that was how Bokuto would describe it.
“I love it, thank you!”
Instantly his expression lightened up as he jumped up himself to give you a big hug. Some muffled noises of happiness reached your ears when he buried his face on the crouch of your neck. The tips of his hair, pointing upwards again, tickled your neck.
Excitement, regret and fear, happiness - Everything within two minutes. That’s just your boyfriend’s personality!

hey! happy blog-versary! could i please request 7 with sugawara 🥺
(A/N) - I LOVE THAT COMBINATION! Thanks a lot and I hope that you like it
Prompt #7 “That was barely even a kiss. Do it again - please?” with Sugawara
Even though their bodies hurt like crazy after the long match, the boys could not stop jumping around and chatting with each other in the parking lot. The euphoria of victory kept them going. Who would have thought that they would actually win the final against Shiratorizawa?
“Koushi! That was amazing!”
Sugawara turned around at the sound of your voice calling his name. With a big grin on your face you approached him while paying no attention to the growing ruckus surrounding him. No one, except for the other third years, had seen you before - Yet, Suga wrapped his arms around your neck as soon as you were close enough.
His warm skin touched yours, but the loose grip proved how exhausted he was. For a moment his forehead rested on your shoulder until he looked up again.
“What are you doing here, sunshine?”, he asked you smiling from ear to ear.
Not saying another word you simply connected your lips with his, which triggered the butterflies inside of his stomach. Adrenaline mixed with serotonin and created an addicting high of feelings. But you pulled away before he even realised what had happened.
“Congratulating you, of course”, you replied with a slightly red face.
His lips only formed a little pout, “That was barely even a kiss. Do it again - please?”
Your eyes widened with a glimpse of surprise in them when you smirked and finally brought your mouths together for a second time. Sugawara’s hands wandered down to your waist, which they enveloped with light pressure to hold you close.
“NICE ONE, SUGA!”, Nishinoya cooed.
“PLEASE TEACH US YOUR WAYS, SENPAI!”, Tanaka continued.
You could practically feel his grin during your kiss, completely not caring about the remarks, but already planning his revenge on them.

Karasuno - Airport Edition
I’ll go to bed now (it’s past midnight, whupps...) and begin with the requested prompts from the prompt list once I’m up again! So have these headcanons for now :D
Summary: The adventures of the crow boys before an eleven-hour-flight and me creating headcanons for it!
———
The whole chaos started very early on the school grounds where they met like usual for their trips, but this time it was meant to be much, much bigger. A tournament abroad had invited them to represent Japan. A solid eleven hours away by plane in Switzerland.
Sugawara, Ukai and Takeda took turns on asking the team about the presence of their passports. Every time Hinata proudly presented the bundle of important documents that his mom had prepared for him.
When they unloaded the car at the airport, Kageyama literally wanted to set the bags to their owners because ‚it would safe time‘.
After a little ruckus involving Tanaka, Noya and Kageyama (the latter had tried to set Kiyoko’s bag first) Daichi actually considered to leave behind half of the team before going through security.
As Takeda had already checked-in the whole group online, they only had to drop off their bags at the counter of the airline. There was no way in hell that Takeda would trust every student with their own ticket.
Not after they had nearly forgotten Kinoshita, who had gone to the toilet, at school earlier.
Being booked as an official group they were able to skip the regular counter and the adults took care of talking to the assistant that was meant to receive their suitcases.
Quote by the woman at the counter: „You two have such a lovely family! I wish everyone a nice vacation. Enjoy the time with your kids!“
It was that moment when Ukai questioned when he had turned from the unmotivated shopkeeper into a seemingly somewhat fatherly figure of fourteen teenagers.
When they wanted to proceed to security, Daichi nearly made everyone stand together in pairs, holding hands and not letting go until they were legally forced to:
Hinata had run off to the toilet, Tanaka and Noya were glaring at everyone that dared to look at Kiyoko or Yachi, Tsukishima wanted to leave the airport to abandon the trip, etc.
But if you believe that it got better under the supervision of the security agents, you are terribly mistaken.
Kageyama started to gloom because one of them had told him that a volleyball was not allowed as cabin luggage on an international flight.
For some unknown reason Daichi had a print of the airline guidelines with him to prove that Kageyama was indeed allowed to have the ball as his cabin luggage.
Oh god, Ennoshita realised that he would have to cover that position next year.
In the meantime Asahi nearly had a panic attack because the metal detector reacted to him in this fierce way of beeping and blinking. For a moment he already felt the handcuffs around his wrists until he was good to go after a manual check.
Something in his bag had alerted the x-ray, so Suga had to unpack its whole content to present it to the agents. Granola bars, pills for headaches and nausea, baby wipes, hand sanitizer and the list goes on. In the end everything was alright.
For the flight back to Japan there will definitely be groups in which they will go through security to have at least one (1) responsible person with everyone.
With two more hours to spare they sat down at their assigned gate, some of them visibly relieved that nothing had exploded so far. Yet again they managed to get everyone’s attention.
„Could you possibly stop acting like we are in the future? This is an airport, of course there will be planes outside“, Tsukishima remarked at the sight of the Chaos Quartett being glued to the gigantic windows.
Cue to the third years sitting together in another corner, chatting about the upcoming opportunity and their progress as a team. How the achievements and laughter always made up for the chaos.
This is an announcement for Suga and Daichi, little Hinata is waiting for you to pick him up at the souvenir store B27.
Everything else went quite well, except for that one time that Nishinoya decided to do a rolling thunder in the middle of the crowded hall in order make his way through the people and someone was about to call security on him.
Half of the team was pretty impressed with Tsukishima’s knowledge about planes that he spilled for the pure reason of making the Loud Ones shut up. The other half didn’t listen or didn’t understand anything he was talking about.
Additionally, the girls and the three remaining second years had retreated to playing UNO for nearly the whole waiting time. Kiyoko destroyed everyone with her luck of getting the special cards. At some point Ennoshita had 14 cards in only two colours to get rid off.
Selfies, oh the ridiculous amount of selfies. They somehow managed to squish everyone into one frame - Tsukishima wasn’t amused at all. And you can see it in his face.
Before anyone could get the idea to use even more ridiculous filters, the salty french fry was saved by the boarding announcement.
It took one impressively loud warning from Daichi and Ukai in absolute sync to make they stay put.
When the line had gotten smaller, they waddled towards the counter where Takeda handed them their tickets one by one - They had to return it once they had found their seats, though.
Let’s be honest, the airport crew had a lot of highlights with these boys to talk about later.

Can we have a Tsukki scenario where the reader is just as sarcastic as him? I mostly see the reader being overly sensitive and stuff. Also, I'm new here and look forward to reading your works
This ended up being longer than it was supposed to, but now it’s too late anyways XD
As in introverted and overly polite person, I had my struggles writing two sarcastic people at the same time. Yet, here we are, with this piece filled with not-so classical romance!
Also a very late welcome to the blog - I’m happy to have you here :3

Another Love Language | A Tsukishima x fem! Reader Scenario
Words: 1336
-----
People were gathered all over the place. Even though this hall had been reserved for participating teams only, there was nearly no empty spot to be found. Boys and girls wearing jerseys in all colours of the rainbow had taken over, creating a noise by simply talking to each other that could be compared to an earthquake.
As most of his own teammates had been awake way too early this morning, Tsukishima was now able to call himself one of the few lucky ones with an actual corner to sit at. He taped his fingers in advance while Yamaguchi tried not to stare at the crowd, which would sent his heart rate up to unknown heights.
Nishinoya and Tanaka had left several minutes ago to meet some friend from a girls’ team. With every announcement Asahi seemed more pale, Kageyama fiddled with his fingers to properly stretch them. The trio of Daichi, Sugawara and Ennoshita was casually chatting with each other. And Hinata was absolutely nowhere to be seen, probably causing a ruckus at the toilettes as usual.
What a time to be a member of Karasuno.
A glance at his phone told Tsukishima that the first match would start in an hour. So the warm-up would be due in about thirty minutes. Actually he had been checking his messages, but nothing new popped up in his inbox.
Positively speaking this meant that Akiteru had found his way to Tokyo without any issues and was most likely sitting at his assigned seat by now. Tsukishima rested his back against the wall as he starred at his feet.
The room might be crowded and loud, but he still managed to understand many parts of different conversations. Some people were standing pretty close to the area of his team anyways, closer than he appreciated. He rolled his eyes at their behaviour.
„Aren’t these boys from Karasuno? The team that was known as the fallen crows?“ He heard a boy whisper from a few meters away.
Not only had this guy attracted Tsukishima’s attention, seemingly the rest of his teammates was listening as well. No one made eye contact as the stranger continued to speak without noticing that the victims of his theories were already planning their comeback.
„Do you really think that they are strong enough to beat someone here?“
In absolute sync all member of Karasuno present were looking up to stare at the culprit with a blank expression on their faces. Once he had understood that their eyes were directed towards him, he froze immediately. He broke out of his paralysis by jumping when another person approached him from behind.
„Yeah, because I would totally think of the team that kicked Shiratorizawa, the current champion, out off the competition as weak," a female voice commented on his question from earlier.
Yamaguchi and Tsukishima changed their mimics by the time the sarcastic remarks had reached their ears. The latter couldn’t decide whether to sigh or to hold his breath, though a smirk appeared on his face nevertheless. Of course he would recognise the voice of his own girlfriend from miles away or in the middle of a thousand people.
Supporting his upper body with his hand he rose from his place, becoming the target of his team members’ curiosity.
In the meantime the boy, who had been called out by you, had retreated into the ocean of unknown faces. Obviously yours stood out even more to him. On the contrary spotting a tall blond guy in a black-orange jersey hadn’t been the hardest task for you to fulfil either.
When Tsukishima and you walked towards each other, the eyes of the other Karasuno players were practically pinned to your boyfriend’s back. Only Yamaguchi happened to know what exactly they were witnessing. For the rest it looked like the first-year approached a random girl who had just roasted someone for them.
„I thought I told you that you didn’t have to come,“ he said with one of his eyebrows raised. „What are you doing here?“
„Playing soccer, of course,“ you shot back with a grin wrinkling your cheeks.
So far you had only seen him in his volleyball attire on pictures, not in reality. On the ride to the stadium his older brother Akiteru had shown you plenty of them and had been blabbering endlessly about Kei’s career as a middle blocker.
But nothing could have prepared you for the moment when you actually got to see him in his jersey. Number 11 of Karasuno, a regular.
„Hellooooooo Tsukishima! Would you mind to introduce us to this lovely girl you are talking to?“
Suddenly Sugawara had popped up next to the two of you, starling your boyfriend for the minority of a second. Not much to Tsukishima’s surprise Daichi stood right behind the setter, eyeing you with an innocent smile.
„Ah, you must be Kei's teammates. Nice to meet you! I won’t occupy him for long, just making sure that he is in usually high spirits.“ You proceeded with telling them your name, school and grade.
After that you looked at your boyfriend to finish your introduction as you certainly didn’t know how much his team was involved in his love life.
„She is my stalker in disguise of a fan," he responded to your nonverbal plea.
A chuckle left your mouth while you crossed your arms in front of your chest and leaned onto your lamppost of a significant other. Even with your body putting weight on him, he didn’t move in inch. So you stood securely.
„Nah, I am more of his personal reminder that his heart of stone is able to feel love.“
Sugawara and Daichi introduced themselves, exchanging glances with one another in between sending approving looks your way. Together with you Tsukishima returned to his former resting spot where Yamaguchi greeted you as well. Out of the Karasuno bunch he had been the only person to officially have been told about the change of his best friend’s relationship status.
Though, Sugawara had to admit that he had indeed had a suspicions until today.
Sitting next to each other with your backs facing the wall, you more or less leaning onto him again, the missing boys of the team returned one by one.
At first Nishinoya and Tanaka did not believe their eyes that a third girl had found their way to them before Tsukishima clicked his tongue at them. They went on with jumping up and down, probably attracting Hinata in the end.
Not less excited, the orange-haired boy had sparkles in his eyes as he cooed, „I didn’t know you had a girlfriend, Tsukishima! Please teach me your methods, please, PLEASE!“
Time went by in the speed of a spiked volleyball, so the announcement to prepare for the first match came faster than expected. Several parts of the crowd inside the room started moving, gathering or walking out to the gym already.
Tsukishima put on his sports glasses, you did your best to distract Yamaguchi from the upcoming adrenaline. Not that it really worked, but internally he was glad to have someone that was talking to him about something else than facing strong teams. In this case how your boyfriend would look stunning in glasses with a pink frame.
„You should go back to your seat. Akiteru is probably waiting for you,“ he advised you once Coach Ukai had told the team to get together.
Now was your moment to leave - In the battles he was about to fight on court you couldn’t do anything but watch from afar. For sure you were intending to clap and scream until your hands and throat would be sore, maybe annoying a specific middle blocker of Karasuno in the process.
One last time Tsukishima turned around to send you off.
„Break a finger, Kei!“
He gave you a thumbs up, the corners of his lips slightly poking towards the ceiling. Then he switched back to his serious mode in order to crush their opponents.

Dancing in a Dirty Puddle | Sakusa Kiyoomi x Reader
A typical case of 'It sounded much better in my head', but I wanted to share it with you anyways!
Words: 1755
Summary: Going with the headcanon about Sakusa being germaphobic, my head came up with this scenario :P
-----
Tumblr media
There were many things that Sakusa wouldn't do. Simply shaking someone else's hand could make him reach his limits, if he wasn't wearing gloves or didn't have sanitizer on him. But this never stopped him from doing what he certainly wanted to do.
And this list happened to be a lot longer than the one with the situations he was struggling with.
As his teacher went on to explain the next math problem that the boy had already solved quite a while ago, he watched the raindrops on the window to his left. This morning had been unexpectedly perfect until the grey clouds had appeared at the horizon.
Nearly silent thuds echoed in his ears while his eyes followed the line of one of the new droplets.
A sigh slipped out of his mouth to be caught by his facial mask. Today would be rather exhausting for him since human interaction couldn't be avoided. First school, then practice and later a meet-up at the local library with some classmates to finish a group project.
At least the rain would wash off all the bacteria of the people he would run into on his way to the unusual location. Many considered it only a detour, for him it was the opportunity to catch a terminal disease.
Before the thoughts could take over, he closed his eyes and took a deep breath. Now was not the time to have a panic attack in the classroom.
Some things just had to be done, like that biology project.
By the time practice had come to an end, some rays of sunshine broke through the gloomy blanket above his head. But the blue sky was still nowhere to be seen.
Carefully he made his way to the concreted paths of the school ground to not step into a puddle or - worse - faceplank into one. A shiver ran down his spine as he cleaned his hands with a sanitized wipe. Who knew in whose mouths the air had been earlier.
"Sakusa! Mind if we walk together again?" You, one of many classmates and member of his assigned group, waved from the school gate.
There you were, his personal ray of sunshine to save him from the boringness. Maybe the assignment had been of use for him anyways.
He shrugged his shoulders in response, though that seemed to be enough to get a smile from you. Everytime this happened, he stared at you for a second and looked away the next. Whatever it was, he couldn't tell whether you were the weird one in this scenario for causong such a reaction or him for acting this way.
Like the past two Fridays that your group had met up at the library to work on the project, he walked next to you with a safety distance of two imaginary people in between.
On your way to the meeting you asked him about his day and he responded with a short reply, mostly telling you the exact same thing as the other days. His hands in his pockets he watched you from the corner of his eyes whenever you spoke.
So he immediately noticed as soon as you had stopped in your tracks.
"Woah, how beautiful! Don't you agree, Sakusa?", you awed at the sight ahead of you.
The street on your right, Sakusa and a brick wall to your left a big cherry tree was looming over the side walk. In front of you the grey stones were covered in pink cherry blossoms that the wind had carried away.
Nevertheless the tree shone in the most beautiful colors from white to nearly red while some leaves still dripped a bit due to the heavy rain earlier.
You grabbed your phone from your pocket and went a few steps ahead. The device in your hand you stretched towards the sky as much as you could to capture the natural beauty that you were witnessing right there.
"Damnit, I'm not tall enough to get the wall out of the picture", you hissed between your breaths.
Sakusa watched your efforts from afar. How you were balancing on your tiptoes, arms high into the air to get the perfect angle and how you were failing in your opinion. In this position he would only have to place his hands around your waist to rise you up a tiny bit more.
Inside his pockets his fingers tingled while his feet nearly took action before his brain stepped in. The thoughts of where your jacket had been today, when it had been washed the last time and the amount of bacteria that might be attached to it took over.
Even though you were only a call away, he froze next to you. With his eyes fixated on your blazer, his chest tightened when he tried to suppress the urge to sanitize his hands.
"This will do", you finally exclaimed. "Thanks for the wait!"
Yet again with this big grin on your face, that looked so much happier than on anyone else's, you turned towards him.
The remaining minutes of the walk went by without another incident. Sometimes he would nod to agree with your statement, then a time would follow where you just continued to walk in silence.
While more and more rays of sunshine won the battle against the seemingly undefeatable dark, Sakusa found himself lost in the recaps of what had happened back there.
Sure, he had experienced moments of paralysis before. But in contrast to those he couldn't stop thinking about it now.
About how his actions could have changed the events for the better and how he could have been the one to make you smile even more.
The work on the presentation for school brought him some surprisingly welcomed distraction. It still didn't manage to make him forget about the wave of thoughts sweeping away his sanity.
For the first time in forever he actively noticed that he only touched his own things. The pens, the ruler, the scissors.
If someone else accidentally grabbed them, he would have to clean them or never get in contact with them again.
Nobody of the group made a comment about his reflex to use a baby wipe once he had touched someone else's belongings. Additionally, he didn't take off his mask in a secure place like a library as thousands of people had been there before.
To get a book from the shelves he grabbed a tissue first to protect his hand from direct contact. Everything else raised his blood pressure on the spot.
So he busied himself with writing note cards for his group in a neat handwriting.
When he stepped outside the building after finishing the project, he felt like being able to properly breath for the first time in hours. During the stay it had rained some more, leaving the air freshly cleaned from pollution.
"Let's head for the station. It's late already", he announced to you.
Meanwhile you stretched to make the exhaustion vanish from your limbs. At home you planned to simply eat dinner before collapsing on the bed.
Pretty much aware of the tired look in your eyes, Sakusa didn't say a word. As you didn't either, silence ruled again.
Thanks to that it wasn't hard to hear a speeding car approaching you two from behind.
Before it passed you in the blink of an eye, Sakusa noticed the puddle on the side of the street, which instantly splashed into all directions once the wheels had hit it. The boy felt the urge to throw up as soon as single drops of water reached his face.
With an unsteady breath and shaking hands he pulled the baby wipes out of his backpack to clean his forehead. Next was the mask that he switched for a completely new one.
Only when he had discarded the used supplies into a zipper bag especially for that purpose, he checked the rest of his body.
"I'm sorry, Sakusa", you mumbled with a breaking giggle. "I didn't manage to shield you from all of it."
Then it hit him what had happened.
You were standing in front of him, the back of your clothes and parts of your hair soaking wet. Nevertheless you tried to smile at him while checking the damage the water had done to your appearance.
"Are you okay? Most of the water hit me, I guess. So I'm sure that you will only need to wash your uniform once and take a shower later."
"Why?", he replied without breaking eye contact with you.
At the same time you wiped your face with your bare hands, making him shiver at the mere look of it. You even tried to squish some water out of your wet hair.
"I've noticed that you don't get along with dirt, physical contact and everything of that sort", you explained calmly. "The bullet of discomfort was shot and I took it for you."
Offering you his help by throwing single baby wipes at you to finally make you stop touching your dirty face with your even dirtier hands, he didn't know what to answer.
Instead he grabbed a tissue for himself and opened the zipper of his sports bag with it. He would certainly not take the risk of touching potentially stained metal.
"Here. Take this."
Sakusa was holding his yellow-green trainings jacket towards you. Thanks to the face mask his expression seemed the same as always, though it did hide the uneasy snarl of his lips.
"Thanks", you welcomed the offer wholeheartedly "I will wash it and return it on Monday!"
It was this moment when the boy had made you smile simply because of him for the first time. The way your face lightened up once you had put on the jacket was directed towards him and only him at this very moment.
Sure to say that his lips formed a small smile as he found the neatly wrapped jacket in his shoe locker on Monday.
Immediately after opening the little package, a nice scent of flowers reached his nose through the face mask. You were nowhere to be seen, but your image popped up in his head as well as the memory of you standing underneath the cherry tree a few days prior.
Surprisingly, it didn't occur to him that you most likely hadn't worn gloves while wrapping his jacket.
His mind had other priorities to think about. Including the issue about the comforting warmth inside of his chest whenever you were around.
