The duffer bros literally said that they weren’t going to add new characters in the next season of the show, so it wouldn’t be a new boy. Plus why would they make such a big deal out of Will liking Mike and only having eyes for him if they were going to add a new character onto season 5???

Will wouldn’t dump Mike for some random boy he met in season 5, we know Will is loyal like just look at the boy.
