On Friday I went to the record store in hopes of buying a new tegan and Sara CD (I have all except heartthrob & sainthood I think) and ended up purchasing "get along", and I didn't realize it came with the 3 documentaries. So tonight I got the crusty dusty DVD player out and set it up to my tv and watched it. I really enjoyed it.

I was listening to "the con" album, the other day and was looking through the song meaning of "I was married". I had never realized it before, but I learned from Google that this song was written about homophobia/gay marriage. I took the lyrics that hit hardest and wrote them on this little pride flag card I had. I know it's just a band but genuinely tegan and Sara made me feel like it was okay to be gay (it wasn't just them but still).

This. I'm so happy for them & most people seem to know their place and understand to not ask invasive questions but I know people are also overstepping. I also think it's good for the kid that she's not sharing too much info about it yk? Like it doesn't matter at the end of the day I think we all know that Sara & Stacy are going to be great parents.

I think the cover art on the "so jealous" is cool, so I sewed a little felt heart pin to go on my tote bag. I think it turned out pretty good, a bit uneven bc my scissors were shitty but that's okay:). "So jealous" is a good album- I think "speak slow" is my favorite song from that album but "walking with a ghost" is amazing too.

I've been watching "queer eye- we're in Japan!" And it's so good. The fab 5 are just so nice, I love seeing them change people's lives. Last week I got back from Japan - visiting my obaachan (grandma). It made me think, and I realized I didn't really know much about the queer community in Japan, and I don't really know any Japanese LGBTQ celebrities, except "Matsuko deluxe". When I was there I saw a few gay couples holding hands & some political posters supporting the lgbtq community. After looking into it, it seems like the majority of people in Japan are supportive of the queer community , or don't really care. Gay marriage is not recognized by the government & gay couples are legally not allowed to adopt kids. But then I look at the US who has its own set of problems for the LGBTQ community. In one of the episodes, they mentioned that Japan has a big thing with conformity , and that is so true. Sometimes I think how different my life would be if I had grown up in Japan.

I just finished reading "high school" by Tegan and Sara. It was probably the best book I've ever read , it's been awhile since I've read through a book for fun. I loved reading their stories. Specifically, when Sara quin threw a chair at a homophobic kid- god I wish I could have the courage to do that. Near the end of the book, there's the exact moment that Sara admits to herself that she's gay. I can really really relate to that, I was so afraid too. I still am.

Seriously thinking of ordering this shirt, it's definitely my favorite out of all their shirts they're currently selling. I absolutely love "I know I'm not the only one" and "I'll be back someday"- although most of the songs on this album are good . I don't own any tegan and sara merch and I think it's about time lol. I also like the Tegan and Sara foundation shirt, I think what they do with that is great. Maybe eventually I'll get that one too.

I'm sure a lot of people realized but tegan & Sara mentioned there were some clues/Easter eggs in the fucking up what matters video. There's the cake that says "pretty shitty time" in the music video, I kinda thought that was a clue or something so I guess I was right?? So excited for crybaby. I think it's going to be really good.
