Seriously thinking of ordering this shirt, it's definitely my favorite out of all their shirts they're currently selling. I absolutely love "I know I'm not the only one" and "I'll be back someday"- although most of the songs on this album are good . I don't own any tegan and sara merch and I think it's about time lol. I also like the Tegan and Sara foundation shirt, I think what they do with that is great. Maybe eventually I'll get that one too.
doing the songs bracket has had me going back to listen to UFLO and TBOA which i don't generally have in rotation much but truly have a lot of bangers imo.
and that got me listening to my little playlist of their old demos and unreleased songs and truly of those, trouble is one of my all time faves (along with give chase and when i get up). it's just such like a unique vibe for them and so meant to be sung live!!
So parts of Yellow and (the song) Hey I’m Just Like You are connected/about the same thing probably? In Yellow Sara writes about/implies doing drugs with Tegan specifically and uh, all the other stuff. And in HIJLY the whole song is about basically that. (sorry if this is old news)
You know, I did make the connection between Yellow and White Knuckles and 100x (mostly WK) but I hadn’t thought much about the connection with HIJLY
It does make me wonder which time in their lives the song is about. I imagined it was about the first few years after high school but they wrote HIJLY when they were still in high school

"Some of the lyrics in Collide seem to be the inspiration for the second verse in they song Hey, I'm Just Like You." - comment from Kenzie on their YouTube playlist (x)
"But I'm so tired of pretending that I am so strong, when I don't even know yeah what it is that makes you seem so wrong" (x)
"Sometimes we get so tired of pretending like you're so strong, everyone you love has gone and decided that you're so wrong" (x)
"1996, Plunk, which was also the name of our first band, would later become “Hey, I’m Just Like You” and the title of our 9th album" - Sara on substack (x)(x)
in case we didn't already know i will be screaming crying shitting and throwing up tomorrow at the tour announcement. if they come near me i will scream and if they don't i will scream <33
There you go everyone. Tegan and Sara’s closest friends and collaborators are Zionist apologists. If this doesn’t bother you, then why were you drawn to TnS in the first place? Mean people suck, don’t they, even if they’re your friends..
