Idk who decided to post the original screenshot but whoever you are, genuinely, fuck you. It is ableist to assume that all people with NPD are bad, first of all. Secondly EVEN IF THEY DO TERRIBLE SHIT it’s still because of a goddamn mental illness. You can hold space for people who have been abused by those with NPD while still not being ableist. My mom’s husband is a narcissist. He’s a terrible person, but not because he’s a narcissist. Because he’s an untreated narcissist who thinks the world shines out of his ass and refuses to seek help or listen objectively to other people telling him he’s being a shitty human and refuses to get therapy because he thinks everyone but him is the problem. That is not the case for all narcissists and comparing people like him to the narcs that are self aware and actively trying not to hurt people is shitty as fuck. I hope you never get a job as a therapist OP because you would be terrible at it. Stop posting about mental illnesses you don’t know SHIT about all over the goddamn internet.
