So many Palestinians’ lives will just never be the same. Even on the chance that a ceasefire is declared, which even that isn’t forthcoming, it will not undo the trauma of having your home destroyed, of having the cafe you dwelled every day destroyed, of your loved ones you had to dig among rubble to see one last time, of living in makeshift encampments that are bombarded by airstrikes day and night, of the sheer fucking trauma that came with experiencing a live genocide. Those people have seen things they never speak of—and still we have people chalking it up to “exterminating Hamas,” to “Arabs being terrorists,” to “both sides are in the wrong.” The least we owe these people is a free Palestine, but it’s far from the last thing.

No words, just smiles

sleepy nights where abby’s little fist knocks on the door and mike wakes first, peering over your shoulder through bleary eyes to see abby standing in the doorway, shrunken in on herself.

for a second, with the only lighting coming from abby's ajar bedroom door across the hall, mike doesn't recognize her. his body floods with fear, up until she speaks.

“i had a nightmare,” she explains, one hand holding her blanket and the other bunched up in her pajama pants.

mike sighs, head hitting the pillow as he fights off sleep. “it wasn’t real. go back to sleep.” you stir in your sleep and mike pulls you closer, trying to prevent you from waking up, too.

“but mike, it felt real. please, can i just sleep in here? please?” and mike feels like a jackass when he grumbles out a “no”. but she really can’t sleep in here. the floor is too uncomfortable and mike twins bed can barely hold both of you comfortably.

he feels even more like an asshole whenever you turn around and say, “i’ll go sleep in your room with you, abs.”

you slip out of bed, leaning over to press a kiss to mikes forehead, and then mike is watching you leave his room in abby’s shadow.

he falls back to sleep, a little cold and a lot lonely, and when he reopens his eyes only forty five minutes have passed. he can’t get a full nights sleep knowing you’re in the same house as him but not in his arms, so he slips out of his bed, taking the comforter and a pillow with him, and tiptoes into abby’s room.

you’re squeezed on the bed with her, laying on your back. he thinks you’re asleep, but then your head turns softly whenever you hear the door creak open. mike walks around to your side of the bed, trying his best to avoid the lego pieces and the creaks.

he places the comforter and pillow on abby’s bay window before approaching you, his eyes already starting to close as soon as he smells your body wash.

“what’re you doing in here?” you whisper to him.

“was gone too long. i can’t sleep without you.”

you smile, a little lopsided and lazy, but your face displays what mike assumes is something akin to appreciation. “abby made me promise to stay the entire night.”

and the same feeling reflects into mikes body. he leans down and presses his lips to your forehead. “can you come sleep in the fort with me? you’ll still be with her.”

so you and mike end up smooshed in a fort fit for a ten year old and definitely not two adults, but you make it work.

No because same 🧎‍♀️🧎‍♀️ he fr needs way more content than what’s out there because as much as I love Mike Schmidt (Mikey 🥹), all of Josh’s other characters deserve AT LEAST some hype.

As for the edit, I’m so glad there’s people out there that actually love it haha. Seeing edits on tumblr seems to be extremely rare, so I didn’t think people would particularly enjoy that compared to fics and such but I guess I was proved wrong.

Just so you know, I do plan on bringing more content on Billy himself (I already posted a fic on him and I’m thinking of plots for another 👀) but as for a treat for the Thanksgiving Weekend, here’s a quick edit I made earlier just to lighten the mood. Enjoy :)
