So, I’ve seen a lot of discourse around the Fnaf movie and I thought I’d give my own thoughts on the movie and talk about a few things.

//Spoilers for the Fnaf movie!! If you haven’t seen it and don’t want spoilers, please avoid this!! (And maybe come back later if you have)//

I went to go see the movie on the 25th, the first night it came out and I enjoyed it. 6/10. I liked a lot of things in the movie. William Afton, Spring Bonnie, the animatronics, the costumes, the set, the designs, and the music. That was all incredible. Some of the scenes were amazing and I loved them so much. To name a few: Spring Bonnies scene and Williams reveal, just the animatronics scenes, the 8 bit digital intro, the spring lock scene.

But I was feeling a little bummed about the change in lore and there was some of the aspects of the movie that I wasn’t sure about and whether I liked them or not. I liked the movie but I didn’t think it was groundbreaking or amazing. I wasn’t sure I loved it.

But I had time to mull it over and decided that I was wrong. I realised the reason why I hadn’t liked the movie so much was because I was so stuck on the lore change and wanting the movie to be exactly the same as the game. I had gone to see the movie with that expectation and no wonder I felt bummed, because that’s what I was focused on. That’s where I went wrong.

So I decided to out those thoughts out of the way. Now I knew how the movie was going to go and that it didn’t follow the lore so closely, I decided to try and welcome the new changes.

With this in mind, I decided to watch it again and my opinion did change. Before I had just liked it. This time I loved it! A 9/10, amazing! The jumps scares and scare factor still didn’t scare me, but I don’t care, because to me, Fnaf was only ever scary when I was a kid, now I realise that I don’t get scared easily by things like that anymore, so I wasn’t expecting to be scared this time around. And I don’t mind the lack of real gore, because Fnaf was never really all that gorey anyway, so I don’t know why people were expecting it.

The lore changes, I actually began to like. Because I realised that in the first game anyway, what the first movie was mostly about with some aspects of the others, the game never stated a link between Michael Schmidt and Michael Afton, that came later and I think that’s what people forget about. Even if it doesn’t turn out that Williams is Mikes dad, I don’t think it really makes much of a difference except for the familial aspect.

The use of Abbie was great, I liked her.

Things that I wasn’t so sure about in the movie the first time around, I actually like now.

I wasn’t very fond of Vanessa at first and her use, the first time around, but I like her more and I like that William is now her dad. Vanessa is a great addition to the cast and new lore and it gives her a motivation if a security breach movie is ever made, that her father messed her up so much that she ended up just like him in the end.

The somewhat wholesome fort scene. I know that’s causing a lot of hate towards the movie, because people believe that the animatronics need to be scary and that’s that. But people forget that the animatronics are haunted by kids. Literal children! Thinking that way makes the scene more bittersweet in a way and a little eerie and sad, than just wholesome. I also love how they keep bringing up that fact that they are kids throughout the movie. That after each death and murder from then, you are reminded that these are just kids, which actually adds to the scary factor of the deaths because they are done by actual kids! It also makes them sad and heartbreaking because William had messed them up so much that this is what’s normal for them.

The repeated dream scenes were a little annoying at first, but now I get it. It showcases the desperation of Mike to find out what happened. That each time, he’s desperate to find out who took his brother, to change what happened. It’s shows just how messed up Mike was from loosing Garrett.

Now another scenes I’ve seen that had caused a lot of dislike, is the final nail in the coffin for William, the picture scene. At first I kind of thought it was a cop out, a cheap and easy idea. But combined with my thinking and seeing the movie again, I think it was actually done in the best way. Many times in the movie, it is stated that children communicate through pictures (I’m not sure why people keep saying it came out of nowhere, because it’s literally said about 3 times!) and to bring it up yet again! The animatronics are kids! The way the picture of Spring Bonnie and the kids holding hands is ripped off the wall and replaced by Abbies picture of Spring Bonnie killing the kid’s, the way the animatronics remember their deaths and how it was William that killed them is actually an amazing scene and I really really like it (the echoed screams of the children are actually chilling). In this scene it’s not just Mike isn’t just finding out the truth about what happens to his brother, the kids are too.

I think what holds a lot of people back from liking the movie is because they are so stuck on the complete original lore and the changes that have been made. You’ve just got to let that go and welcome the changes, because there was never any promises that the movie was going to be the same as the game and the first game had been out for more than a decade, so of course Scott probably had some thoughts and wanted to change some things. It’s like looking back at an old drawing you’ve made and think of all the things you could have done differently. And the confirmation of having a movie was so long ago, that people will have had secure expectations for the movie and opinions of how they’d imagined it to be and how they wanted it to go. And none of the movie adaptations of games that I’ve seen, ever are exactly like the games. Sonic wasn’t. Mario wasn’t. Detective Pikachu wasn’t. And that’s completely okay, because they don’t have to be and just because they aren’t, doesn’t make the movies bad.

I love both Sonic movies and am so excited for the third. I love the Mario movie. I love Detective Pikachu. And now I love the Fnaf movie. All because of their changes and the mixture of the original lore.

I’m not saying you have to like the Fnaf movie. You can have your own opinions. But if the changes from the lore is what’s holding you back from liking it. Don’t let it. Because you are just holding yourself back from something you’d might actually come to like. Accept the changes and give it another try and you may find that you like that more than you’d thought.

So yeah, that’s my very long review/rant/ whatever this is (it’s literally over a thousand words, jeez. Guess that’s what I get for being a fanfic writer). It’s probably somewhat messy as it’s just a word vomit, straight from my mind to the here.

I hope this can maybe change some of your minds about the movie. If not, that’s okay too.

I am excited for the next one as I hear that it’s already been confirmed as they’ve made enough money from the first to continue. And I might watch the movie a third time before it leaves the cinemas ;)

Michael Schmidt could still be Michael Afton and here’s how!

I went and saw the Fnaf movie the other day and have been mulling over how some of the original lore could fit in with the new lore and story. This morning I had a little realisation to how it could.

(Some spoilers for the movie, so if you haven’t seen it yet, come back when you have!)

It could go something like this:

Elizabeths death still happened same as in the games

William and his wife, Mike’s mother, divorce after Elizabeth’s death and leaves. William getting custody of Evan and Mike.

The Bite of 83 also still happened and Evans’s ( The Crying Child’s) death ( I believe the Elizabeth’s death happened first)

The Bite of 83 traumatises Mike, leading to him getting dissociative amnesia or something, being unable to remember Elizabeth, Evan or even William. His memories blocked behind trauma.

Mikes mother returns and gets custody of Mike and he goes and lives with her and her new husband (the one in the flashback and dreams at the campsite) and their young son, Garret (who is actually Mike’s half brother.) Mike’s last name become Schmidt, his mother new husbands last name. Mikes accept him as his true father.

No one in the family mentions Elizabeth or Evan as it causes Mike to have a panic attack when even just the names are mentioned

William adopts a young girl who he takes a liking to at the pizzeria, who is a runaway, Vanessa, who reminds him of Elizabeth

Garret is taken by William when William tries to get Mike back, but accidentally takes Garret instead, upon not realising that it isn’t him, as it’s been years. When he finds out, he kills Garret. He also does it to get back at Mike’s mother who took Mike away from him

Mikes trauma and self-blame isn’t just for Garret, it’s for killing Evan and the loss of Elizabeth, though he doesn’t remember either. It’s why he cares so much about Abbie and doesn’t want anything to happen to her

Vanessa doesn’t know that William is Mike’s father, so that’s why she doesn’t mention it

William employs Mike at the pizzeria because he recognises the last name ‘Schmidt’ and recognises Mike then, as his son (There has to be a reason for William’s reaction to the last name is the movie, the way he reacted after reading it? He paused and his face changed. It was like he recognised it! And the way he acted afterwards, kind of skittish or whatever and not wanting Mike to leave. I don’t know, it just seems like more than just recognising that he’s the brother of the kid he killed, because why would William want Vanessa leave Mike in the dark and only to kill him when he got too close. He would just kill him anyway right?)

Not really part of this and just a headcannon but I believe William killed Mike’s ‘dad’. Mike said he left, but I don’t think so

Not sure how to link the Emily family and their deaths into this

That’s all I can think of. Some of it could end up being canonical, or it could just all be complete rubbish, but it was fun to see how it all could fit together.

It’s been a while since my last post and for that I am sorry. I really have no excuse.

I watched the pilot for ‘The Amazing Digital Circus’ the other day and absolutely loved it, my favourite character is definitely Jax, but Pomni is close behind.

I made my own OC for the series.

Meet Magze!

Character Profile:

Name: Magze (Pronouced ‘Mag-zee’)

Nickname: Magz

Stage name: Magze the Magic Cat (despite not really being able to do much actual magic, only tricks)

Age: 22 (Not that he knows that)

Gender: Male

Height: 5’6

- He came along before Pomni

- Not humanoid

- He’s a black and white, rubber hose cartoonish-like plush cat, with black pie eyes, wearing a red bow tie, a black magicians hat with a red strip and white gloves

- He is mute and communicates through sign language and gestures

- The others understand him because of Caine, who gave them the ability to understand sign and gestures, Pomni is also given the ability when she arrives

-Has a crush on Jax

- Can be snarky and sarcastic but also really sweet

- Can give back to Jax as much as the other gives. He signs really fast

- He finds Jax’s attitude amusing, though will step in if Jax takes it too far, such as when Jax pushes Gangle, he helps her up, when Jax breaks her comedy mask, he helps her fix it

- Cares for the others a lot, sees them as family (except Jax, but you already know the reason why ;) )

- Cares for Pomni, like a little sister( despite being older than her though he doesn’t know that) as well as Gangle. He’s sees Ragatha as a motherly-like sister figure and Zoobler like a grumpy older sister. He sees Kinger like a weird uncle and used to see Kophmo like an older brother (his abstraction really upset him, though he hides it)

- When he first arrived, he was terrified, he broke down after a few days becoming very close to being abstracted. But Jax found him, and surprisingly, comforted him and calmed him down, saving him

-Magz has liked him ever since (not in a crush way then, that came later) and they’ve both become quite close. Jax is nicer to him, not completely nice, but not as horrible as he is to the others

- He copes by pretending that he never had a life before the Digital Circus and had always been part of it, how much it actually works, he doesn’t know, but he hasn’t abstracted yet, so he takes it as a win

I might doodle more for Magze in the future so look out for that! Also it’s my birthday today, so yay!

Mutant Mayhem review!! Spoiler warning!!

Don’t read any further if you haven’t watched Mutant Mayhem or don’t want spoilers!!

So..I saw Mutant Mayhem with my dad and sister yesterday and OMG!! It was so good!! I loved it!

The animation was amazing!! The fight scenes were amazing!! The characterisation was perfect!! It was so much better than I’d imagined it would be.

Splinter was great and such a breath of fresh air. He was just a dad, a dad who cares so much about his sons and would do anything to keep them safe. Honestly, Jackie Chan did such a good job.

Superfly was actually pretty intimating, loved the design. In fact I liked the designs of all the other mutants. Mondo was probably my favourite aside from Superfly.

I actually really liked April, she reminds me so much of Rise!April with some differences and I really love Rise!April so..

I love the turtles so much and their designs. I’m so happy they were accepted in the end because they were pulling my heartstrings. Leo’s still my fave (as always) but Donnie is a close second.

That scene with Splinter. Oh my God, I almost cried, I felt so bad for the guy.

The second mid-credits scene, I won’t spoil it but I am so hyped!!

I will admit though, I am sad for the future of Rise and I do hope it will be continued in the future and not cancelled, the series doesn’t deserve that. But just because I am sad about the treatment of Rise doesn’t mean I hate and bash Mutant Mayhem because of it, which I have seen some Rise fans are doing. Mutant Mayhem is a good movie and doesn’t deserve that treatment. I do hope that both series can get a chance to be continued and finished properly the way they both deserve.

So Mutant Mayhem, 10/10. The best TMNT movie in my opinion alongside the Rise of the TMNT Movie (which should of had a cinema release, like seriously..I would pay good money for it).

Spoiler warning for Sonic Prime. Please don’t read any further if you don’t want spoilers.

So..I watched Sonic Prime season 2 today and….OMG! Another cliffhanger!! After that ending!!

I won’t say much about it, all I can say is..NINE!!! Why?! I honestly kind of knew it was coming from the start of the episode but just didn’t want to believe that he’d actually do it. I still love you Nine but jeez man, why are you breaking my heart? Poor Sonic, honestly he’s been through the ringer this series, the poor guy.

Every character I actually like, even the Chaos council is kind of growing on me strangely, except for Babble, he’s just annoying.

Shadow is great, love to see him actually act like himself and not just an emo all the time, seeing him fight is always a pleasure.

I know that people talk about how Sonic is out of character in this show or dumb and..I’d have to disagree with you there. Honestly I think Prime!Sonic is one of my favourite portrayals of Sonic and that’s coming from a serious Game!Sonic fan (no hate towards Game!Sonic in any way, I love him so much too) He’s just kind of a breath of fresh air in a way that I just can’t explain it. I really like his portrayal and he’s not dumb, he’s just scatterbrained, which honestly you can’t blame him with everything happening to him every five seconds, poor guy deserves a break, some sleep and a good and tasty chilli dog. Also he’s actually pretty similar to the Sonic in the games in my opinion, but the games just don’t show it as much.

I’ve also seen some hate to a certain character in the show, it’s not really a spoiler as he was in the trailer so I’ll just talk about him. I love Chaos Sonic, honestly didn’t think I would in the beginning and the design was kind weird when I saw it in the trailer but I actually love him so much. He’s so cute!

I love this show so much!!!!

Also to the haters of the show that I’ve seen. If you don’t like, don’t watch, simple as that. No hate towards any of you, just don’t ruin the show for the rest of us who like it.

This review, if you can count it as a review, is all over the place, but hey..

Long time no see! It’s been a while since I last uploaded something, I’ve been a little busy. So, it’s been a week since the final episode of The Owl House, the episode completely wrecked me and I cried like 4 times during it. To celebrate (and lament :( ) the end of this amazing show, I thought I’d draw something for it. I came into the series really late, like when the first episode of season 3 was coming out late, but I’m still glad i joined the fandom when I did, it’s such a nice fandom. I am going to miss the show a lot even though I’ve only been a fan for a short time, the show means a lot to me, fingers-crossed that we may get that spin off Luz was hinting at one day.

Happy Wholesome Wednesday!

Personal Headcannon: Movie Sonic and Tails (and Knuckles too) are big fans of Rise of the TMNT. Sonics favourite character is Leonardo for..obvious reasons. Tails idolises Donatello and uses some of his inventions from the show as inspiration for his own, he has been very tempted to create his own S.H.E.L.L.D.O.N a few times as well as a tech-bo. Each of them (and Knuckles) I know for sure were broken by the Rise of TMNT movie as we all were and some still are (me) and watched it on the premier night.

This is the boys dressed up as their favourite characters either for Halloween or just a binge watch session of the series and movie (your choice). They made the costumes themselves, with some help from Tom and Maddie. The weapons are either wooden or cardboard, not real, as do you really think Tom and Maddie would let them have real weapons? Though not shown, Knuckles is dressed as Raphael and we cannot forget Michelangelo whose role is played by Ozzie (I might draw these two as well if people want it?)

My love for Rise of TMNT is at an all time high lately, so that’s the reason for this (sorry to non-TMNT fans). Absolutely gutted that we may not get a third season despite the movie doing so well :( Really hope they change their mind and the franchise gets the proper treatment like other TMNT series got and gets more seasons and love.

Something I drew the other day for Mutant Mayhem, you can see who’s my favourite turtle already, as he always seems to be in every series or movie, Leonardo! Though in some of them Donnie manages to climb to the top of my list too (Rottmnt & TMNT 2012). I love this Leo so much already!!

Now small review of the Mutant Mayhem trailer and movie so far; At first the animation and designs looked a little weird, took a while to get used to but now I adore it and them! The voices I think fit pretty well, though like they’ll take a while to get used to as well because they sound so much younger than I am used to the turtles sounding. I’ve see a mixed opinions on April so far and well, I am on neither side, just in the middle at the moment. I don’t hate her but I don’t really like her either. Don’t get me wrong, nothing I dislike about her is to do with her race, I absolutely adore April in Rottmnt, it’s just that Mutant Mayhem doesn’t feel like April to me right now but then again we haven’t seen much of her yet so idk.

Moving on, I meant to post this the other day but sadly Tumblr isn’t working on my laptop anymore so isn’t that just great, hopefully I can fix it.

Happy Wholesome Wednesday!! Only a little doodle today but it���s been bouncing around in my head all week.

Still it makes me wonder what the future holds for further Sonic games after Frontiers, how much of a time skip will there be?

Also, slightly off topic, but I’m actually really proud of how I’ve progressed in my art in such a short time. A months or a little longer than that ago, I was terrified of straying from source material, references and using my own ideas for fear of failure or my art not being perfect. But I’ve learned, to progress, sometimes you need to push out of your comfort zone, sometimes you need to fail to improve.
